Never thirsty, ever drinking Ever staring, never blinking All clad in mail, never clinking

xD Not quite.
Not mail as in letters. As in armor. Chain mail is armor made of little loops or platelets of metal all connected together to form a light(er than full plate), maneuverable protection against arrows and swords.
Repeating the riddle:
Never thirsty, ever drinking Ever staring, never blinking All clad in mail, never clinking
What am I?

lol Nope.
It's actually not what you would think it is. Has nothing to do with warriors of any sort, or even humans. xD

I'm thinking of one of those specific statues/fountains, yet I get the feeling that's not it.

No to all answers given. x3
Am I stumping y'all yet? Icarus is on the right track, as far as my source. Here's a hint: It suffocates in the air.
Once more now, and if y'all give up, say so and I'll tell ya the answer. 3nodding

This famous - or infamous - quote from Alice in Wonderland actually does have an answer. Two, actually, though Lewis Carroll came up with them several years after writing the book. I want to see if anyone can come up with both answers.
Why is a raven like a writing desk?
