Dark_Mana ashlander_alpha Well, one could say that a lot of folk music is based on the mythologies and culturally important oral and written works of their respective peoples. For instance, Amorphis employs cantos from the Finnish epic poem, the Kalevala, as a basis for a number of their albums.
As for possible literature-based albums, I'd like to see a prog metal band do a concept album on Fahrenheit 451. Pain of Salvation's "BE" reminded me of the book faintly.

ashlander_alpha I've read it myself, actually. Or to be more accurate, partially. I generally don't really like epic-length poems of any country's origin...hope that's not offensive. sweatdrop

Huh... I'm a little surprised. I haven't seen anybody mention Amon Amarth (LotR name) or all the Egyptian literature referenced by Nile.

I would like to see some metal based on the lord of the rings (lol)Blind guardian summoning (gorogoth named themselves for mordor) there are more, but I forget i know... it was a joke. if you lighten my text.
