BogiePop toria94 DevilsLight Magni Prime Personally, I find the movie(s) passable at this point. Any film version that made the pass to theaters would not be perfect, because those that make the films are not rabid fans. Glaring errors are inevitable, so what we have is not all that bad. Granted, there is a lot that I would like to see improved like Bay's almost sexual zeal for the American military. Animated is superb. There are numerous references to G1, but it is not the overriding factor. The voices are wonderous with nods to older generations and while a re-imagining of the series there are great references both in toys and characters. With an evolving and ongoing plotline, there is growth and development. Really a great series- and I am deeply saddened that it is going to die off after season three. Oh, and Shockwave murdering Blurr . . . intense!!! IDW, what I have of it, is incredible. Every bit that I can get my hands on I do so, and have several graphic novels from them now. Megs origin for instance is just mind-blowing. The second time I read it, my mind had Megs' voice as far less gravelly in the beginning adding that gruff as he delved deeper and deeper into the realm of a dictator. Now if I could only get the first collection of the spotlight series . . . I have 2 & 3 . . . In my mind, the movie is last, but that still means I would gladly watch it many times. Next comes animated for it's superb story and writing. But I have to say my favourite is the IDW reimagining. Their new spin on the universe and darker storylines make me just sigh in delight. The material is well thought out, and powerful. Look on Amazon smile I have all of their TPB and most from Amazon smile I'm waiting for their Dinobots comic to become TPB as well then I'll buy that too. I do have the first one though just for collection sake =D IDW definitely have their style in TF. I just don't like how they made the Dinos so ugly : i personally liked Grimlock the best out of the Dinobots. *shrugs* btw, does anyone know when the TFA season 3 is supposed to air? last week WHAT?! crap. i missed it then stressed

Blurr wasn't just killed. eek That was one of the most brutal moments I can recall in Transformers. Not for cybergore, but the fact that we got to see the horror in his eyes as he knew he was dead.
We . . . watched . . . him . . . die.
A blaster or explosion is quick and to the point. He was crushed and knew what was happening. That was one of the most difficult moments to come along in a LONG while. Then, in a Bayformeresque moment, his remains were treated as utter garbage. Very telling for decepticon Shockwave, and a chilling moment in the show.

NOT okay. especially Prowl's when that gas stuff spewed out of his mouth and his optics turned orange.. crying

The emotional torture before death... that's totally another level.

Exactly my point. The 86 movie deaths were not okay either, but not as emotionally brutal. Well, maybe Ironhide in the 86 was brutal. "Such heroic nonsense." For Animated Blurr, we got to see the horror in his eyes as he knew he was going to die and watched him be killed. Slagging harsh.

From an objective view, it serves many purposes. killing Blurr ties up the loose end of having him possibly leak the info on Shockwave, and it also cements the nature of said Decepticon. Shockwave went from being an ambigious self-centered character a la Swindle, to a very real threat to anybody in his way.

I'm sitting there watching the walls close in on Blurr, and I'm thinking, "Naaaah. This is Animated. They won't kill him."
And then they did. eek
Honestly, I'm surprised. I didn't think modern cartoons had it in them to kill people anymore. I thought that died with the 80s.

*sighs* this is why I hate Decepticons.. they kill/injure Autobots for their own selfish reasons, or no reason at all and it causes disputes. bastards.. and yes, I know it's just a cartoon but I don't care.

Hey, it's all good. It may be a cartoon, but that proves just how good cartoons can be. You actually react differently to opposing sides, which is why one is preferred over another. Can't say the same for most cartoons nowadays. If you think about it, Transformers, in general, has really held its own. Even if it did have some truly plain BAD writers for specific series.. But most of those could be overlooked. 3nodding
Also, GO AUTOBOTS.
