"Eh, guess not." Amaya gave a shrug, shivers still going up her spine from the needle. She rubbed the spot subconciously. "Sure, I'd love to." She smiled back at Lauren and followed her, not knowing exactly what to do now.

The doc has taste in those he trust Lauren thought as they walked the short distance to the town. A bunch of duplexes surrounded them dotted with palm trees and other native flora. "Ah here we are... excited about your new flat?" Lauren asked rather friendly. She went to walk up the stairs. "I'd love to stay around but ya got some unpacking to do and I have lessons to go back to." Lauren's hand reached out holding a key that had the number twenty engraved upon it.
"So... here we are, sleep well although personally I think the dreams from those shots suck a**." more of the crass rude Lauren was emerging but only her true attitude. She probably would remain being nice to Amaya cause she took a likeing to the girl. Sure the doc told her to be nice but after a while it paid off. That doc sure knew what he was talking about.
"If you need anything, there's a call button for you to reach staff or you can call me, just dial pound then the duplex number on your phone." She bit her lip trying to remember everything the doc told her. Made up and in those heels she looked like a lithe model, the anorexic kind people try their hardest to be. "Ah and meals are served in the cafeteria so we should get together for lunch sometimes or you could just stay in your room and have them ordered which is fun when ya feel lazy or need a break from people. I know I do every now and again." She waited for Amaya's response hoping the charade would pay off like the doc had planned.

"God, yeah. Almost anything'll beat that crappy orphanage." Amaya nodded and took the key, looking up at Lauren as she instructed her on where things were and how things worked. "Gotcha." She stuck the key in the lock and opened the door, giving Lauren one last wave. "I'll see ya around Lauren, it was nice meeting you and thanks for everything."

A Haunting Reminder
Amaya shut the door behind her after saying her goodbyes to Lauren. She seemed kinda nice... though something did seem forced to her personality and that doctor creeped her out. Then again, most doctors did. Stretching, she threw her large black duffle bag on the bed and unzipped it to start unpacking. Most of her clothing seemed slightly tattered and made for colder climates. Man, it would be a b***h trying to adjust to this tropical heat. She had almost started sweating outside, but her duplex was much cooler. They had probably done that on purpose since they knew where she was coming from.
... God, she was homesick already. A sigh escaped Amaya's mouth as she hung up some of her clothes and put some in drawers along with setting out what little belongings she had. Most were stuffed animals, little figurines, or sewing equipment... and by the looks of the stuffed animals and their 'stitched-together' nature she had made most of them. Near the bottom of her bag was a framed picture wrapped in paper towels. Unwrapping it, she set it on the nightstand and smiled. It was a picture of her mother, father, grandmother, and a younger version of herself. Aside from her locket, it was all she had left of them, really. She frowned sadly as she looked at it.
Alright, getting depressed. Amaya growled at herself and slapped her cheeks with her gloved hands then paused and let out a loud yawn. Wow, she didn't realize how tired she was. She pulled her duffle bag off her bed; she would unpack the rest later. After kicking off her boots and getting into some comfortable PJ's which were nothing more then a large t-shirt and underwear (Hey, no one was looking.), she crawled into bed and pulled up the covers...
"Amaya... I have bad news." The short, elderly woman looked at the young girl with tear-stained eyes, almost unable to meet her gaze. "Your parents were... killed last night in a car accident. A drunk driver hit them head on. They both died instantly." Her knees gave out and she fell to the ground, the room turning into a never-ending black hole. No. No. They couldn't be dead. They were JUST alive! She had even said goodbye to them as they walked out to the car, leaving her in her grandmother's care while they headed out for a night to themselves. No... NO! Amaya screamed but nothing game out, her stomach feeling like it had completely caved in on itself.
Closed Caskets. Both of her parents had their funeral with a closed casket. Despite her young age, she had known why. They had been so badly injured that they couldn't even show their faces. Amaya stood between both of them and looked at one, then the other. There was a slight creaking sound, then both of the coffins burst open. Their lay her mother and father, faces twisted and bloody, their bodies smashed and glass imbedded in their faces. She tried to run, but couldn't. She tried to close her eyes and hide, but couldn't. Finally her body lurched forward as an overwhelming nausea took hold of her.
Amaya's eyes shot open and she bolted upright, hand quickly going over her mouth to hold in vomit that wasn't going to come. She had been kicking and crying the entire night and the back of her neck along with her entire skull felt like it was being squeezed. Slowly she removed her hand from her mouth and looked down at it, her entire body shaking.
They were gone.
They were really gone.
The tears started once more as she hugged herself and drew up into a ball, weeping uncontrollably and sobbing into the covers.

Dogpile on AmayaPart 1Amaya Vaughan Amaya sat at one of the many tables in the cafeteria alone, her eyes downcast and staring at the coffee cup between her gloved hands. Her eyes were still somewhat watery and every now and then she would wipe a tear from her cheek that managed to slip out. After having that horrible dream she had scrambled through a shower and slipped on some clothes before darting to grab a cup of coffee. There was no way in hell she was going to sleep again after that.
She twisted the mug back and forth in her palms as she stared at it, not wanting to look up at the horrible bare cafe. She was in duplex 20, right? Meaning their were 20 people here... and not one of them were in the cafeteria? That was kinda weird. Regardless, she really hopped that someone would come in soon... anyone really. Even though she was still slightly crying and their was a snowballs chance in hell she would tell them about her dream, she still would have liked someone to talk to. Amaya wondered where Thorn was or if she was in the health center thing getting her lessons... Hargun Hargun had been having a dreadfully hard time getting to sleep at night lately, her head absolutely not wanting to shut down. She was very exhausted and had a rather fatigued look, her eyes had formed tiny purple rings and she was constantly yawning. Other than that though, she was somehow able to maintain a generally perky mood throughout the days. Today she decided to get out and chat with her fellow islanders, and hopefully get a bite to eat.. her tummy roaring at her. She left her duplex miracously without her sketchbook and headed very slowly towards the cafeteria. As soon as she entered she didnt even bother to look for a place to sit, until after gathering up a large a** plate of food, and carrying it witha lazy slump. She looked around and spotted a rather unfamiliar face sitting alone at a table. Yawning, she attempted to wave with one hand, almost dropping her tray. "Heya! Mind... *yawn* if I sit with you?" she asked and tried to lean against the table next to her. Greer Cassenwari Greer was on a meat mission, a new, icky tasting thing she'd had to get used to since the second injection had made her a carnivore. Striding into the cafeteria full of purpose, she went straight to the food and grabbed two steaks before even thinking to look around for people. Spying the artist Hargun sitting next to someone she didn't know, Greer grinned and sat down at the table. "Hello Hargun! How are you?" Amaya Vaughan The young girl blinked and looked up at Hargun, snapped from her daze. She smiled immediantly and nodded, wiping her eyes clean. "Sure! I was kinda hopeing I'd bump into someone else." She went to take a sip of her coffee when the other woman approached with... FEATHERS?! Oh god. What the ********. Amaya stopped in mid-sip just... stareing. No, it was rude to stare. Blink danm you, BLINK! Hargun Before Hargun sat next to Amaya she found the voice of someone she DID recognize, and apon turning to greet Greer.. "Hey Greer- HOLY s**t!" she said, and dropped her plate... luckily on the table. Rushing to sit down, Hargun scooted up next to the table and got up in Greer's face, staring.. and poking at the sprouted feathers. "Wha... wha.. what the heck happened to you?" she gasped and sat back, looking to Amya and smiled awkwardly then back to Greer. Her appearance kinda woke Hargun up a bit. Picking up one of her rolls she crammed the thing in her mouth without chewing, so suprised by her friend's changes. Greer Cassenwari Startled, Greer sat perfectly still for Hargun's inspection, smiling shakily when it was over. Spending all her time with Ambrose and the Dude meant she'd somewhat forgotten about how physical her changes were. Oops. "I'm sorry I startled you Hargun." Gesturing to her feathers, yellowing legs, and meat-filled plate she shrugged. "I got my second injection." Amaya Vaughan Okay, enough stareing... stop it... stop it. Amaya finally forced herself to blink and shook her head before looking back to Hargun and the bird... woman... thing. "Mmmyeeeah... I think I'm deathly confused and in shock right about now." She set her mug on the table and looked between the red-head and Greer with one eyebrow raised. Hargun Hargun started joking on her roll.. it was obviously going to happen. Finally coughing it back up she stared at Greer with somewhat frightened eyes. "SECOND injection?" She exclaimed. She figured the shot would be a one time thing and wouldnt require a lot of revisiting with Moreau or any of the strange lab assistants here, but if a second injection was comming, it meant she was gonna get one too. Shaking, she tried to eat a spoonfull of mashed taters. "Wow.. you.. youve really changed just from that second shot huh?" attempting to swallow some she started up again. "Oh my god Greer.. what ARE you changing into.. and.. and what else is going to happen..?" she eyed the two giant steaks. Hargun sighed and yawned at the same time, and put her fork down then turned her head to Amaya. After getting over Greer a second thought shot in her head. I bet she doesnt know.. she MUST be new. MUST be.. she thought and began to furiously attack her food, trying to avoid having to speak further on the subject while they were on it.. about transforming and all. The Dude XD His fierce red tomcat in tow, the Dude walked into the cafeteria, cigarette in his mouth, hands in his pockets - ya know, the works. He saw Greer, the redheaded girl who drew and whose name he was currently forgetting and a new teenager. This one had dark haired and had the cutest nose on the island. So he grinned and walked up to the girls "Hello, ladies" - he nodded and waved his flipper hand in a greeting. Meanwhile, Captain Morgan sniffed out the steak that Greer had aquired and decided that htis woman was now his new best friend. ((Sorry for crashing the party ^_^ Couldn't resist!)) Greer Cassenwari Greer sighed, gulping down half a steak to get her strength up for the lecture ahead. "This entire island is set aside for experiments being conducted on us by our host, Doctor Moreau. The first injection you recieve seems to get your body ready to react to the ones that follow. We're all turning into different animals - my two friends are becoming a wolf and a sea lion, the woman who lives downstairs from me is becoming reptilian, a fellow I met recently is going towards skunk, and I'm becoming a bird of prey, although I'm not entirely sure what species yet. Each injection will change us a little more until... until the Doctor decides we're done, I suppose. Most of the second injections happen while you're sleeping, if that makes you feel any better. No being held down and tortured per se." Stopping to eat, the other half of her first steak disappeared. THe faster she ate, the less she had to taste. Turning to the Dude, she blushed a little, smiling and giving Captain Morgan a halting pat. "Hi Dude!" Amaya Vaughan "OHGOD!" Amaya jumped five feet in the air as the Dude entered, shivers going down her spine. She then listened to everything Greer was saying even though her eyes were now locked on the new arrival. Once she was finished her head slowly turned to look back at Greer. Her shoulders slumped and she sighed, not really being able to really take all of that in. "Well... guess it's my fault for getting tricked into that bullcrap he told me and I'm screwed now." She shivered again, then caught sight of the fluffy feline. "KITTY!" She reached down and tried to usher him over towards her. Ah, distractions. Gotta love 'em. Hargun Hargun rubbed her tired eyes, now a lot more calmed down.. mustve been the overall shock of seeing her friend look a whole lot different. "Well I knew we were all changing but.. yea like I said, didnt figure it would be such a long strenuous process.. but oh well." noticing the Dude Hargun tried to smile. "Hey Dude!" she didnt pay much attention to Capt. Morgan though.. she didnt like cats. Not much at all. Hmm.. in my sleep huh.. yea right.. LIKE ILL EVER GET TO SLEEP. she thought to herself, and started chewing at a greasy looking burger she picked up. Burgers, taters, and a roll. What an interesting appetite. After she took a bite she glanced at Amaya again. "Well, cant say its your fault.. he got me too... crushed my hopes and dreams.. took everything away from me.. BUT HEY, Im here alive and /somewhat/ happy right..?" she asked uneasily. Cassidy Smith With a plate bearing a single, if large, rare steak, and a glass of lukewarm iced tea, Cassidy made her way into the dining hall of the cafeteria. Meals had just been so boring, lately. Fortunately, she'd picked up a little cup of chocolate pudding. She could deal with that. There seemed to be a lot of people, today, and some of them she didn't even know. Yikes. Cassidy hesitated, her tongue flickering, then approached the table. "Um. Can I join you?" The Dude XD The Dude pulled up a chair and sat down by Greer, stretching out his legs. He was not wearing shoes and the oversized feet flopped strangely in the air when he moved. "Hey Greer" - he winked at her, then grinned charmingly at the blush. Did Greer actually have a thing for him? Nah ... it had to have been the alcohol ... then again ... hmmmmmmmmm .... Still distracted, he turned to Amaya who had just gotten the low down. The new teenager seemed to be taking it ... alright. Which was great! Maybe that is why Moreau seemed to be concentrating on teenagers nowdays - they seemed to have less to loose and tolerated the news much better. He just listened to her and Hargun talk, not wanting to add fuel to the barely smoldering fire. When Cassidy showed up, the Dude waved at her as well: "Yo! Come, come!" With his right hand he pulled up another chair from a neighboring table. She looked okey, not too shy anymore. It'd be intersting to find out whether Vasile had much luck with her. And then there was the Karma situation ... Captain Morgan tolerated a pat or two from Greer and Amaya and jumped onto the table to investigate the steak business. Unfortunately, by the time he got that far, Greer had eaten it all. Greedy! Disgruntled, he stretched out on the table in front of everybody and gave the humans an evil eye, hoping that would frighten them into feeding him something good. Greer Cassenwari Using her hunger as an ecuse to hide her reaction to the wink, Greer leapt up, got another steak, and sat back down again. Chopping a fourth of it up into small pieces, she piled them on the table in front of the minature tiger, hoping appeasement would keep him from thinking about eating her cricket again. "Hello Cassidy! How are you?" She smiled at the newly arrive, partially changed woman, glad to have yet another partial ally. Hargun and Amaya's reactions had been rather... unsettling. Amaya Vaughan "Well, I didn't really have many dreams or anything back home to begin with... so I guess this doesn't bother me as much as it should." She moved her coffee cup back and forth, not really feeling up to drinking any more of it. "Though what makes me mad is that I was lied to. I mean, that doctor guy creeped me out but I just thought it was that... natural scared of doctors thing." Amaya made a weird hand gesture to emphasis her point. "Thorn lied to me too which makes me kinda mad... but what pisses-"
She visually flinched, catching herself too late. "-... ANGERS me is all this lying stuff. I mean... he couldn't have gotten ALL of you with the lie he told me. Your too old... No offense." She held up a hand to the group who had gathered around the table, but refrained herself from diving into the reason she had been dragged here. There was no reason for the entire party to start pittying her for something that was over and done with. Amaya glanced up at Cassidy then looked away again to keep herself from stareing. They were all probably feeling pretty self-conscience without her gawking. "And... sorry about all the stareing. Couldn't help it." Green eyes went back down to the mug as she twirled it about on the table, looking up at the large fluffy cat every now and then but refusing the urge to grab it and squeeze it like some living security blanket. Hargun Hargun snorted. Too old? she shouted in her head, but just maintained a straight face. "Ugh.. yea. We've complained about that factor of his actions a lot.. or I have at least. Dont really doubt anyone else here hasnt." she said and shook her head then looked to Cassidy. Because she hadnt met her before the scales and tounge didnt exactly cause her to jump... she was starting to feel guilty for inspecting Greer.. just natural of her to be interested in whats happening to her friends. She waved slightly to the blonde-haired girl and took another bite of her sandwhich, unable to swallow from a chain of yawns following. "Oh my WORD. Why am I so freaking tired!" she accidentally thought outloud, then glanced around and went back to her food, wiping her face with her napkin and fiddling around the leftovers on the plate with her fork while watching Greer and Capt. Morgan. Cassidy Smith Cassidy was already carefully cutting her steak up into bite-sized peieces; she couldn't look up. There was too much shock in the eyes of these two new people--at least, that's what it seemed like to her. "I miss my family, and my books, and snow. And ice cream." She sighed. "But, really. I don't know what they told you, but I came here for a job. At a hotel. And I was dumb, and believed them, and even when it turned out that there was no hotel, it was all just a... a... a misunderstanding," her mouth twisted, "I let them inject me and settled in just fine." She took a piece of meat on her fork, popped it in her mouth, chewed two or three times and swallowed it mostly whole. Stupid new teeth. The Dude XD When Greer arrived with the steaks the Captain was pleased. Finally, a human who knew how to treat him with respect. Greer was added to the very short list of tolerable humans along with the Dude (sometimes) and the lunch lady (oh my love!). He chowed down, growling threateningly to himself as he gorged on meat. Meanwhile, the Dude was distracted listening to Amaya. Hey, go girl. Now that was a very fatalistic take on the situation. That Moreau guy sure knew whom to pick for his projects. Well, at least he was getting better at it, the Dude corrected himself, remembering Ambrose. Poor guy, he seemed to be the one most screwed over by the situation ... him and Vasile ... but somehow, the Dude wasn't feeling all too sorry for the silver screen siren. "Well, Amaya, he fed all of us various lies, some better and some worse. It's not hard to lie well to people if you know which buttons to push. And the folks from Feral Labs did their homework on all of us. Well, except me and Emelyn. We are kinda freebies on this island - shipwrecked after a storm. And ya know, one should never give up hope. Life has a way of turning out alright in the end. And ya know ... one adjusts." He looked at his flippers and smiled back at Amaya: "Like, I get to swim so much better now, ya know? I"m the Dude by the by. That's what people call me. And I am turning into a sea lion" - he introduced himself. Greer Cassenwari Greer gave Cassidy a sympathetic look and them smiled at the table. "I thought I was coming to be a field entomologist. This was not true, but I've managed to become my own one-woman bug studying team on the island anyway, so it's worked out." Swallowing the last of her steak, she frowned at the feathers on her hands, speaking to no one in particular. "You don't think my hands will become wings, do you? Cause that would be bad." Amaya Vaughan Amaya blinked and looked over at Hargun. She was about to say 'then get some sleep' but stopped herself. That was mean and too obvious. She listened to all the stories on how each person had winded up on the island. Jeeze, Moreau was... to put it simply, a dickhead. As she listened to Dude she nodded in complete agreement. "Exactly. This is just one more thing that I'll force myself through. I mean... NOTHING is perfect so their has to be SOME way off the island, right? It'll just take some time and a lot of thinking." She gave a shrug. Be positive. Positive was good.
Amaya smiled at the Dude and nodded to everyone. "Names Amaya, by the way. He raked me in by telling me this was some kinda resort thingy for older orphaned teenagers. When I saw Thorn it didn't exactly make me suspicious if y'know what I mean." She frowned and sat back, her gloved hands idly fiddling with her locket. "So uh..." The young girl wondered for a moment if it was a touchy subject to ask, but Dude seemed open enough about it. "Do you all know what your turning into 'n stuff?" Hargun Hargun looked nervous to what Greer said. What if she too was turning into a bird or something that wouldnt have the use of hands? Then how could she draw? No way.. Moreau's mean but as Lauren said hes somewhat a nice guy.. he wouldnt have given me something winged. Wait.. unless Aubrey.. did... she thought nervously and shook her head. She sat back and slid her tray foward. She didnt finish everything on there like she thought she would. Looking to Amaya she shrugged. "Id LIKE to know.. desprately. " sighing she smiled slightly to everyone. They were turning out to be pretty interesting creatures, but who knew if shed be the first freaky or odd-like animal. "I just hope I dont turn into something that will cause conflict among us all." drifting off a bit she laughed to herself. "Maybe Im turning into a sloth.. hence my exhaustion.." Cassidy Smith "I haven't asked." Cassidy made a face. "Some sort of snake. I dunno what else has a forked tongue, anyway." She stared down into her supper. "I really, really, really hate snakes. I wonder if I'm going to be poisonous. And... wings! I don't even know what's going to happen to my arms and legs." She grimaced. How would she hold up her books? The Dude XD ((sorry ran out didn't expect to take so long ^_^)) The Dude turned to Greer: "Hm ... that's a good question. My arms are turning into flippers, just like a sea lion's but it look like I get to keep my thumb and index finger. Maybe if your amrs turn into wings you'll get to keep some of the digets as well?" Greer Cassenwari She nodded at her friend. "I hope you're right." Turning to the artist, she spoke. "You know Hargun, you could just be sliding towards nocturnal. Plenty of animals don't come out during the day." Giving the girl a smile and a pat on the hand, Greer stood and bussed her tray. Returning to the table to give them all a smile, the Captain a pat, and the Dude a shy wink. "Bye all!" She called, striding back to her room to gear up for another exciting day chasing bugs. Despite the feathers, this was the life. Amaya Vaughan She shuddered at the thought of turning into something she hated. Like a monkey... or something. Though she had to admit their were few animals she didn't like. "I think I'm too much of a chicken to really ask..." Amaya looked back down at her coffee cup and took a sip, cringing as cold liquid touched her lips. With a frown she set her cup back down on the table, feeling incredibly bad for Cassidy. Turning into something you feared? That'd give her nightmares... She looked up once Greer stood and forced a smile before giving a slight wave. "Bye-bye Greer, it was nice meeting you." Her legs started to swing back and forth, barely touching the ground in her chair out of nervous habbit. Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose was just heading towards the cafeteria as he spotted Greer making an exit. He was dressed nicely, wearing some clean long khaki pants and a polo shirt, long since given up trying to hide his features, although his hair was very neatly brushed and slicked back, and even the fur on the backs of his neck, down his jawline, and over his arms seemed shiny and healthy. He gave her a friendly wave and headed in, and nearly coughed at seeing the cafeteria at the fullest he'd ever seen it. Including a completely new face - a young dark-haired girl who looked to be barely a teenager. he shook his head in incredulity. However, before he went to go sit with them, his stomach forcefully reminded him of his primary reason for coming, and took him directly to the food line where he was met with the glorious sight of... steaks... rare steaks. His hands were on the tongs before he could even finish calculating, adding two... three... four.. and finally five of them onto the plate on his tray before he headed over and set his tray down near the Dude, Cassidy, Hargun, and the other girl. He smiled to his friends and assumed that given the girl's company that she knew the ropes. "Good afternoon." He smiled pleasantly to the company. After sating himself with at least a preliminary slice of the food, and swallowing, he extended his hand to Amaya. "I don't believe we've met yet. My name is Ambrose." He said with a practiced aire. "Seems that new people are showing up every day..." he added, a little hesitant. Vasile DiRossi Vasile was going mad from boredom. The beach was great and all, but he was getting lonely. He hadn't seen Karma or Cass around, and he hadn't heard anything from Cass in regard to the note he sent her. Finally, he decided he had gotten hungry enough to justify going to the cafeteria. Tucking Brutus under his arm, he headed into the cafeteria, looking to surprised to see it rather full. Timothy Matthews Timothy heard the door above him shut and someone walk down the stairs. He decided to peek out the door and saw Vasile walking toward the cafeteria. Timothy felt weird, he didn't want to be a stalker or anything but he was rather bored himself, and food did sound good. Quickly getting dressed in something a bit nicer he headed out towards the cafeteria hoping to maybe talk to Vasile and hang out. While getting something to eat of course. Hargun Hargun smiled at Greer. "Thanks. That helps. I kinda figured because Im usually in bed really early in the afternoon." Waving as Greer left she looked to Amaya. "I dont really get the time to ask.. the last time I saw Moreau we were all there and he was NOT in a good mood. But oh well... Ill find out later anyways." She smiled as she saw Ambrose come in. "Hey Ambrose. Hows it going?" Good lord.. theyre just appearing from no where! she thought as she saw a new man enter with an adorable dog in his arms, then spotted Timothy and shouted out. "Hey Timothy! Woah-" she noticed he changed as well. And at that moment a very odd feeling fell over her.. he arrived with her yet he's also recieved his second injection. The slight feeling of being left behind or struggling to catch up seemed to fit better.. out of most of her friends now she was the only one who hadnt changed yet. Is that a good thing? she asked herself. The Dude XD Okey. Greer WAS trying to flirt with him. Awkwardly, but persistently. WOW. As the befeathered entomologist made her exit, the Dude followed her with his eyes, processing this sudden realization. Well, she WAS cute ... in awkward geek kinda way. Adorably Vilma-esque ... but why would Greer have a crush on him?! ... he wasn't even smart. Really not the type he'd think Greer would go for. This was all very new and unexpected. But the Dude grinned nonetheless. It felt nice to be liked. And winked at. Then Ambrose entered and he waved to his buddy as a greeting, trying to act casual about all this. A bit belatedly, the Dude responded to the others. "Sorry, zoned out. Good to meet you, Amaya. So ... you are an orphan, huh? Man, Moreau knows how to pick people that will not be missed all that much ... b*****d." - he nodded at her and petted Captain Morgan on the back. The cat stretched blissfully and closed his eyes to snooze, enjoying the love. He wouldn't even mind if people other then the Dude would give him a pet or two. As long as they were respectful about it. "Well, there are ways of this island, I am sure, but we have been told that if we leave before completing the full series of injections, we will die of cancer shortly there after. So that effectively prevents escape attempts for now." - the Dude added to Amaya. Then Vasile and Timmy showed up. Captain Morgan, who was comfortably stretched out on the table, opened one of his evil eyes and looked lazily at the newcomers. Oh ... looky there ... entertainment has arrived! He gave Brutus a look with enough vile attitude to make a New York rat have a heart attack.

Dogpile on AmayaPart 2Amaya Vaughan Amaya smiled and shook the hand Ambrose offered. He didn't look as... different as the others, though she could tell her was one of the ones who had started to change or whatever. Her handshake was surprisingly strong despite how little she was, a trait she had picked up from her father. "Heya Ambrose, nice ta meet ya. My names Amaya and... yeah, I just arrived yesterday about." She then looked over at Hargun and thought for a moment. "Well... what about those call buttons in the rooms? Thorn told me that if you press 0 you get help or something." She made the same weird hand gesture as before to emphasis her point.
"Cancer? ... Jeeze..." Amaya lowered her head, feeling bad for everyone almost now. Now what? She sighed and frowned before her attention went over to the door. "Doggie!" The frown immediantly vanished at the sight of the tiny dog in the man's arms. Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose looked over as the Cafeteria remarkably began to fill up even more as two other familiar faces entered. He nodded pleasantly to Timothy and Vasile, still looking a bit sheepishly towards Vasile. "Amaya. It's nice to meet you" his handshake was firm - but not deathgrip - in return. "Well, nice as I suppose it can be considering the situation" he gave a halfsmile as he overheard the Dude's summary of her situation. "Orphan...? So you were adopted here..?" That certainly fixed her here. No one to come looking for her either. They were getting resourceful, and careful it seemed not to retrace any steps. But unlike Colche, she seemed rather perky and well-adjusted. He nodded at her question. "Yes, you can press 0 to get a hold of one of the staff at the lab... unless you irritate them and they disable that" he added as a grumbling after affect. At Amaya's call of "dog!" Ambrose nearly coughed on his steak, thinking that she was referring to him at first until he looked back following her eyes and spotted Brutus. "Oh! That!" Ambrose spluttered in relief. Vasile DiRossi Brutus licked in Amaya's general direction eagerly, his little tail stub wagging. Vasile gave a dashing, but innocently charming smile. Brutus wiggled to get out of his grasp, but then his ears shot upwards as a scent wafted across his nose and he almost wet himself. He wiggled out of his master's arms and went bee-lining towards the door.
"Brutus what's gotten into you?" Vasile asked before he spotted the red cat. "Oh." He flattened his gaze over at the Dude and his cat.
But then is struck him. Who were a few of these new people. They weren't in the script. Make up crew?? No, that would be too good to be true, and this little girl was definately not ex-CIA. "Vasile DiRossi," he said, holding out his hand to her.
He gave a nod to Ambrose, and then his eyes widened as he saw Tim. "Oh.. Timmy. I've never seen you with your make up on.. thats, uh...interesting." Timothy Matthews "Ahhhh... Vasile ummm..." Timothy was about to point out that it wasn't make up, but he really didn't want to argue with Vasile about this. "Thanks" he said flately and stood by the tables. "Hi, don't think I know you all here, I'm Timothy Matthews, I'm a musician. Sort of." Timothy rubbed the back of his neck and watched the cat and brutus. All these people, it really made him nervous which caused some kind of... a feeling inside him. It was like something was tensing up, since he realized he was a skunk he didn't even want to think about it. He walked up and noticed that they had some seafood. He looked over the food they had and noticed the shrimp, the small little pieces of meat looked extremely appitizing just laying there, all lined out. He served himself while everyone else chatted. Hargun Replying to what was talked about with the phone dialing and all she gave a nervous grin. "Well I didnt remember about those.. Ill remind myself to talk.. er try to contact Moreau later." Hargun raised an eyebrow towards Vasile as he mentioned Timothy wearing makeup. Whats with him? Thats obviously not makeup..She watched Brutus and looked down at her pushed aside tray, picked it up and walked over to the trash bin to throw everything away. When she came back she leaned her head over on the table and closed her eyes. "Mm.. Im just gonna rest my head a little bit guys, if you dont mind. Ill still listen though.. Im just so tired." The Dude XD As his prey fled even before he could really start hunting, the Captain debated giving chase. Briefly. But he was being petted over here, and he really did just devour two steaks all by his lonesome. Chasing a dog, no matter how entertaining, was just not wise at this moment. The red cat yawned widely, showing off his yellowing fangs and went back to dozing. Meanwhile, the Dude watched Vasile compliment Timmy on his "make up". O-key ... did no one fill him in yet? GAWD. It's been, like, a week by now? And yet Vasile seemed to be still under impression that this was all a movie in which he was the hero. Hey ... whatever works ... So Timmy was a skunk, huh? Man, better either stay on his good side or very far away. A skunk was nothing to joke about, especially a human sized skunk. Talk about a big stink ... He grinned to himself, imagining a vivid picture of Moreau's death by Timmy's powerful glands. Oh, that'd be morbidly kickass. Maybe he should talk about that possibility with Timmy sometime ... it had merit. "Hey Timothy! Looking good in black and white, man!" - still smiling to himself, the Dude nodded to both Vasile and Timothy and went back to scratched his cat behind the ears. Ian Campbell Ian moved to the side as he entered the cafeteria and saw a dog rocketing towards him. "What the...." he muttered "What's a dog doing here..." Looking up from the animal he spotted a rather large-ish group of people. Among them were only two people he had met, the Dude and Hargun. Wandering over nervously he smiled slightly. "Hi. Um..." He had spotted Ambrose, wondering what the man had thought about his abrupt departure the last time they had seen each other. "Mind if I join you?" he asked, "I'm Ian." He looked around and saw how many people had started to change....how long until he too would. As his gaze wandered over the faces of the people, he couldn't help but think about how long before they all changed. Amaya Vaughan "Yeah, guess you could say that. This was supossed to be a little get-away for orphaned teenagers." Amaya jumped at Ambrose's sudden coughing fit, eyes wide. "Oh god, sorry." She laughed nervously and started to swing her feet again. Blinking, she watched the tiny dog scramble and frowned, slumping into her chair. "Awwww..." She wanted to cuddle it... Amaya turned and reached up to shake Vasile's hand, but stopped and looked directly into his eyes. "Vasile... DiRossi...?" She blinked a few more times before having an epiphany. "Hey! Your an actor, right?" Queen of obvious, thy name is Amaya. "But... why're you here?" The young girl stared up at him, rather shocked to find someone so well-known.
"Wait, make-up? What?" She raised a brow and looked to Ambrose and the Dude, utterly confused. "And uh, heya Timothy." She gave a slight wave, wiggling in her seat. GOD THE CONFUSION. Amaya looked back over to Hargun. "... You should really go sleep if your that tired." Subconciously a gloved hand reached over to the large fluffy lump on the table and scratched it between his ears, having forgotten all the nasty glares it had been giving everyone and everything. Hearing someone new, she turned around and gave a wave up to Ian. "Heya Ian, names Amaya. Got here about yesterday." She held her free hand out to him. Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose blinked as the cafeteria began to get even MORE crowded. Had someone turned on a magnet or something? He looked to Timothy again and did a double take. He ... had started to change as well. Black and white fur was sprouting from various locations of his body, and his ears had grown and rounded. Something in the back of his mind prodded the word "skunk" at him, and Ambrose shifted nervously, once again feeling slightly better at the doctor's choice of his own animal. "Timothy... I'm sorry.." he began, patting the man on the shoulder. He looked incredulously to Vasile, but merely shook his head. Ambrose looked over to Ian as he approached, recognizing one of teh people who had fled at his arrival in to the cafeteria the other day. He had found out later from Colche that he hadn't really scared her off... but what about him? And with the present company also sprouting fur or flippers and Ian's... arrival and not departure... perhaps he had left for another reason as well..? Ambrose reached out to shake Ian's hand. Even though Ambrose was well practiced in teh proper way to introduce himself, with Ian his handshake was a bit hesitant, not quite as confident and strong. "Ian... yes - I remember you from the other day... I had thought that I frightened you off. You left before you could give me your name." Ambrose glanced over to Amaya again as she gushed over the movie star. It certainly was an ecclectic group of people.... he glaned around the table... perhaps the closest thing to a family he'd have here... the people he'd be sharing the rest of his life with...? Vasile DiRossi Vasile scrated the back of his head. All these people were doing the whole "but its not makeup" bit. Oh boy... not this. This made in very uncomfortable. A dread in the pit of his stomach. But he refused to believe it. This was definately some weird candid camera Big Brother Suvivor Surreal life thing, or something, and he wasn't going to be played the fool.
"I'm just here on vacation," he finally said to the young woman. Whatever. He didn't want to argue with another woman abuot the whole acting campt thing. Looking very uneasy and uncomfortable in a large group of people that all were alittle off their rockers, Vasile headed towards the food display. Timothy Matthews Timothy got an entire plate of shrimp and sat down, he then sat there and begin to munch them one by one. It felt right for some reason. After he realized what he was doing he looked back up, hearing everyone and feeling Ambrose's pat. "Thanks Dude, Ambrose. It's a little weird but I'll adjust." Timothy shrugged, he really wasn't that well off on it but he didn't want to sound that... cowardly in front of Vasile. Timothy nodded to Ian, the new commer. He hadn't met him before either. He sort of saw a similarity between himself and this guy, well he would have if he wasn't sprouting fur. "I'm just here to eat and chit chat, don't mind me." Hargun Hargun grumbled at Amaya with her head still flat on the table. "Whats it look like Im trying to do right now?" she made a snorting noise, obviously a lazy laugh and murmered. "Im eating the table, cant you tell.." she said sarcastically. Apon hearing Vasile's name quite a few times she finally realized a celebrity was here on the island. Though she wasnt really a fan of his and didnt know about him THAT much.. just his name, she looked up, her hair stringling in her eyes and glanced at him and put her head back down. "Heya Ian." she said, and tried to lift her hand up to make a small wave. She turned a bit and looked at Timothy's plate for a sec, just curious if he had developed some odd appetite like some of the others did. The Dude XD The Dude stood up and followed after Vasile, leaving the Captain in Amaya's capable hands. The kitty was actually purring. Granted it still sounded rather like a growl, but whatever that girl was doing, the Captain aproved. "So hey, Vasile, how's your script studying going?" - he grinned at the actor, and picked up a plate. With a nonchalant expression he began piling shrimp onto his plate ... one dozen ... two dozen ... three ... Lowering his voice to a very private whisper, he added: "Heard you've been practicing love scenes on a good friend of mine here ... just a friendly advice - you brag to anyone about that and I tell Cass. And I'd say some flowers and a sweet sentimental apology letter is also in order. What do you think?" He quirked his eyebrow at Vasile and put a shrimp into his mouth, swallowing it without chewing. Ian Campbell Ian nodded at Amaya's introduction and after shaking Ambrose's hand, shook hers. "Arrived yesterday huh?" Ian said to Amaya. "Heh, always trying to get more people....acting like there's not enough of us as is." Ian turned to Ambrose. "Ambrose wasn't it? Sorry for bailing on you, but after the other girl fled, and I having scared away all the other people I've met on the island...I was having problems with coping." He rubbed a hand on the back of his neck in a nervous gesture. "Yeah, sorry 'bout that." Ian sighed as he glanced around looking at those who said hi when his gaze came across Timothy. With the exception of the white in his hair and the fur, he could have passed as a twin brother to his own little brother back in the states. "Hmm, Timothy.....did you know - wait of course you wouldn't know...I'm such an idiot. But you resemble my little brother. He'd be about your age I think....." Ian halted he was rambling, excessively. Turning slightly red Ian moved towards the food table mumbling a quick "hello" to Hargun Amaya Vaughan Amaya stared at Vasile like HE was the one with flippers and watched him walk over to get some food. "... Has... anyone told 'im? And why is he here? Is this some movie or some-GOD I'M CONFUSED!" Gloved hands shot up to grab her head before a loud thud echoed once her cranium made contact with the table and stayed there. "... Ow. That wasn't something smart to do."
Gradually, she turned her head to look at Hargun through her mess of raven locks. "I mean in a BED not on a table. Though the table does taste pretty good, doesn't it?" She gave a snort and went back to stareing at it. "Scrumtious." It was then that she realized her hand wasn't touching red fur anymore. A gloved hand rose from her lap and scurried over much like Thing from the Adam's Family so she could continue to scratch the Cap'n between his ears. Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose had paused in his conversation to wolf through a good portion of the steaks he had brought with him to the table. Although, while he was eating them quite quickly, he did have good manners in his defense. He chewed quickly with his mouth closed, and sliced them with his knife pre-eating. Finally, taking a break, he spoke up again. "That's ironic, Ian." He began . "And here I thought my apperance was the cause for yours and Colche's departure. Perhaps there have been a series of miscommunications." Ambrose watched the Dude go speak with Vasile and turned his attention back to the people he was less familiar with. He shook his head sadly at Amaya. "Everyone here was given a different... er... cover story." He kept his voice down, careful not to speak loud enough to catch Vasile's attention who was already distracted by the Dude. "His was just more.. well... watertight than most peoples'. Probably because the Doctor doesn't want to deal with him when he DOES find out any sooner than he needs to. His thoughts lingered on her, and, to be honest, he was glad that at least he didn't have to break the news to her. "I'm sorry.... I don't know what things were like for you before you came here... but I DO hope that it won't be that bad for you here. I really want to believe that they're starting to think more about who they bring - people who don't have as much to lose back on the mainland.... unlike Hargun and Timothy and Vasile and me." She looked so young, too... had her whole life ahead of her. Even if she was an orphan. So many dependent people here... Colche... perhaps her... then again - youth didn't necessarily mean she couldn't take care of herself. "Thorn" seemed the perfect example of bullheaded independence in someone so young. "Well.... if you need anything... don't hesitate to ask -" He gave her a smile. "your resident wolfman." He said jokingly with an odd mix of bitterness and sarcasm thrown in. "And good luck, Timothy.... it... to be honest.... isn't something exactly simple to adjust to." He sighed, taking a consoling bite of meat. Vasile DiRossi Vasile looked in digust at all the shrimp he piled on his plate, and he suddenly wished he hadn't grabbed the few he did. But then he composed himself and put on a very smug smile and looked straiht up at the Dude. "Brag?" he asked, mocking insult. "Come now. For one, if you've heard abuot that then it isn't me you should worry about kissing and telling." He moved down the line, but stayed close enough to Dude so he could hear without raising his voice. "Anyway, I don't need to brag. I'm confident in my abilities in a lover, and unlike some men," he stopped to give an accusatory glare to Dude, "I don't need to brag to reassure myself of my sexual mastery." That was partially true at least. It's bad publicity to go around and brag about the women that you've slept with. And being he was a famous movie star, it was the women who did most of the bragging. Vasile continued, "as for an apology, I don't think thats necessary. I didn't do anything to her that she wasn't positively begging for by the end of it. I had fun. She had fun. And we went our seperate ways. She gave no indication she wanted me to stick around and complicate things." Vasile glaced back over the dude and popped a grape in his mouth from the fruit bar. "You think you have me all figured out don't you? Just because I enjoy sex, and have proven myself a capable lover doesn't mean I view women as mindless little toys." He paused, watching his expression. "That's what you thought, isn't it? To be honest the woman in question proved herself to be very intelligent and engaging. In addition to being absolutely dynamite in bed, in case you're wondering." He grinned. "But just because I don't want to wisk off and elope every woman I enjoy having a little fun with doesn't mean I don't value them as human being." Vasile sneered and spun around on his heel. "Anyway," he said over his shoulder. "At the very least maybe now you won't think me to a f**, eh?" He ran a hair through his hair flippantly and strode out of the cafeteria, waving to the Dude with a smile and twirl as if they had just had a brotherly jest. Timothy Matthews Timothy noticed Vasile go as he was finishing his plate of shrimp which he'd... quite frankly devoured. Strangely enough, some new basic instinct of his felt like he thought they were going to move any second. He watched Vasile go, feeling foolish and sort of upset. But he was full now. "Hey, you didn't have to be so rude." "Anyway everyone, it was nice meeting you but I'm gonna go as well. Work on my music for bit. I hope you understand..." Timothy trailed off and when Vasile was safetly at a distance he jetted out too. Hargun Hargun laughed at Amaya's comment about the table. "Its truly is much better than the other food here." she lifted her head up once more and yawned a very heavy yawn and scratched her tummy. "Well, I hate to join the bandwagon guys, but Im gonna go home and take a well needed nap." she said, stretching and getting up out of her chair. It suprised her how she casually mentioned her duplex as /home/. One could hardly call a hotel/apartment sized room a home. Either that or she was just too used to living in a normal house. She patted Amaya on the back before leaving, and tried to sound as reassuring as she could. "I was confused at first too.. then depressed... then just.. here. Youll get used to it and we're all here with yah so.. GOODNIGHT EVERYONE.." she said, slumping out into the sunlight and wincing at its brightness as she walked out towards the duplexes. (wrapped for me) The Dude XD The Dude listened to Vasile's tirade calmly. All the snide remarks and cheap stabs amused him. He just kept eating the shrimp in front of Vasile, being pretty gross about it on purpose. His sense of taste has considerably weakened since the injection, he noticed. Normally this amount of raw shrimp would have caused a gag reflex even in him. But when the primadona strutted out of the cafeteria without even giving him the chance to respond, he tensed up. Setting the plate down, he followed Vasile out, catching up with him right outside the cafeteria. "Hold up here, Vasile. First of all - I didn't needed those details. I kinda consider her my little sister, and while it's nice to know she's dynamite in bed, she was not all too dynamite when she came to talk to me about all this, superstar. But hey, as long as you are not gonna brag, good by me." - he was keeping his voice down still, to keep the conversation private. "And I suppose you a right. Flowers might be a bit overkill. She doesn't really want to see your face any longer, to be honest. I just thought that a few orchids might, ya know ... sway her opinion of you? Make you appear less like a pompous d**k? Your pick, really. You'll be seeing all of us for a while, boy. Better start thinking about not making enemies ..." At that moment Hargun and Timothy had walked out of the cafeteria after them as well, so the Dude stopped talking. Ian Campbell Ian watched as many of the people left the cafeteria. Grabbing some food he sat down at the seat Hargun had vacated and began to eat, pausing every so often to speak with Ambrose. "It seems this entire island is a cancerous mass of miscommunication." Now how did he know such refined words? He had never used the word cancerous in civilized conversation before in his life. "Everyone being told something different, and then there are the people who cannot seem to understand what is happening." Ian looked at his plate thinking. "Even if everyone did understand though, they would still possibly refuse to accept it. Such is the way of people." Amaya Vaughan "Ohhhh, I see." Amaya finally peeled her head off the table and folded an arm under her chin to rest on it as she pet Captain Morgan with her other hand. "I'm not missing much. I stayed at the orphanage for almost three years after my gran'ma passed on. People don't exactly want a 15 year old kid who's just gonna grow up and leave soon anyway, y'know?" She turned her head so she could lay it sideways and look up at him, smiling. "Thanks... I'm just glad I'm not the only one here or something." The young girl paused, frowning for but a moment. "I just really don't like being alone. Not having any family or friends or anything. Kinda makes me like it here, despite the 'Doctor Dolittle gone crazy' thing." She then quickly added: "Though it's not like I'm just gonna roll over for him or anything. You still have family back home, so I'll try my best to get you back there. Pops would want me to try and fight back, no matter how subtle it may be." An almost forced laugh escaped her lips as she looked back over to the Captain.
Bright green eyes trailed Vasile as he left, then went to Timothy as he got up. "See ya Timothy, nice meeting you." She gave a slight wave before letting her arm flop back onto the table so she could resume scratching the large fluffy cat. "Oh yes." Amaya smiled at Hargun, liking the girl who seemed to fall around her age. That was nice, least she might NOT be the youngest one here. Absently, she wondered how old she really was but didn't get time to ask as the red-head stood up and patted her on the back. "See ya Hargun and thanks." Her hand rose once more and haved before flopping back down. Ah, petting a cat. One of lifes most simple pleasures.
It was then that she realized she had been the only one who didn't get anything to eat. Feeling awkward she stood and bussed the cup off coffee that had long since gone cold. After silently grabbing merely an apple and a can of Pepsi she returned to her seat and set the apple down as she opened up her soda. For some reason she had never been one for sitting down and eating a large meal, only taking snacks throughout the day when she started to get a little hungry. Amaya then noticed Vasile and Dude kinda of... skidaddle at the same time and as she looked at the door she asked Ambrose and Ian almost in a whisper; "Hey... is something going on with Mister Dude and Vasile?" Green gaze looked back to them, a little worried. Oh god, what if they were having a fight? Vasile DiRossi ((sorry if its out of order, I've got to leave soon and its just between Dude and Vasile anyway))/ Vasile turned around and glared. "Well if she was having morning-after remorse, Mr. Dude, then she certainly didn't feel the need to say so to me at the time. And she certainly wasn't uncomfortable with what we were doign the night before. If she has a problem with me, she could be coming to me, not whining to you. She's a big girl, who can make her own decisions."
Vasile started to walk away, then turned around. "Perhaps I'll leave her a note if its bothering her so bad. But don't forget, sir, in your rush to hate me that it takes two to do the nasty."The Dude XD There were people around now and he was not comfortable to discuss the issue any further. He already said too much anyway. Gah, this man was annoying ... be cool, Dude. Be cool. Giving him a black eye will not solve anything here. Why did he even bother to talk to this twerp? "You know what, buddy? Forget I said anything. Just ... forget it." - the Dude sighed. "We'll talk once you get your second injection, Don Juan." He was not stopping Vasile any longer, instead, he turned around and trotted off down the path towards the beach. Man, a swim sounded very nice right about now. (And I am out as well. Good night everyone! Thanks Vasile for sticking around.) Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose waved to Hargun. "Take care, and go get some rest. You look like you could use it." He turned his attention back to Ian after he finished his steak. "Unfortunately it does appear so..." he sighed. "And I'm having a hard enough time accepting it myself. I don't want to, dammit... I can't accept that this is IT. Even the... furriness aside, stuck here..." he shook his head and looked to the young girl. "Being alone is hard..." He moved his fork around on the empty plate. "And that's really brave of you. I... I do have a family back home - and a wonderful girlfriend... But you shouldn't have to worry about me. Althought I'm glad to hear that at least maybe you can make the best of this... but still, none of us should have to be here. None of us should be forced to stay here and participate in this science experiment gone horrribly awry for the rest of our lives." Ambrose stifled a yawn. "I should probably head back to my room as well. Eating tends to make me sleepy.... He nodded to them and stood up. "I wish you the best - all three of you. And I'm easy to find if you have any questions or learn anything significant." With a small wave Ambrose bussed his tray and headed out the door, back to his duplex for a nice post-meal nap. ((Ambrose... signing off. Early classes in the morrow)) Ian Campbell Ian waved farewell as Ambrose left and finished his meal. As he took care of his plate he turned to Amaya. "Take care of yourself, don't let yourself be fooled by anything here. Demons lurk" Now what had inspired him to say that bit? To avoid further embarassment Ian quickly dismissed himself "Really sorry....urgent necessity. Must go.." CLutching his stomach for added effect to the falsehood Ian ran fromthe cafeteria. Amaya Vaughan Amaya had taken a bite out of her apple as she listened to Ambrose. He was right, none of them really deserved this. She swallowed what was in her mouth and waved as he headed out. "See ya Ambrose!" He was pretty nice... all the people here seemed to be pretty nice, actually. The thought of FOREVER on the Island still haden't sunk in yet, probably wouldn't for at least a few months. "Gotcha." She gave a thumbs up and a quick 'see-ya' to Ian as he left.
There she was in the cafeteria alone again. Oy.
... Eh, oh well. Time to explore a bit. After finishing her apple she snatched her soda and headed back to her duplex to grab a few things.((Marker! *clicks little movie thingy* :B ))

Dear BobAmaya made her way back to her duplex and closed the door behind her. Letting out a sigh she slammed her back hard into it and slowly slid onto the floor to sit in front of it. "Jeeze... this is too much." A gloved hand reached up and rubbed her forehead. "What have I gotten myself into, Dad?" She closed her eyes and brief flashes of last nights dream sparked to life in her mind.
Green eyes shot open and started to instantly sting. "No. No, none of that stuff. BLAGHA!" She shook her head roughly and slapped her cheeks with her hands before pushing herself to a stand. What she needed right now was some happy music while she unpacked. Yeah, that sounded pretty good right about now. Amaya popped in some Blink 182 into her stereo and turned it up, but not obnoxiously so.
She busied herself with small tasks like unpacking, stitching up some of the stuffed animals she had made, organizing her CD's, and writing in her diary.Quote: Dear Bob,
I didn't write anything yesterday because I was so tired, but I made it to the Island alright. The helicopter ride here was friggin' scary though, never wanna do that again. I met Thorn and Doctor Moreau, too who had pretty much lied through their ******** teeth. I really, REALLY hate being lied to. Even Thorn lied to me! I thought she was nice up until I was told by a lady with feathers named Greer that all of us are doomed to stay here for our entire lives as guinea pigs and slowly be turned into different animals...
... Sounds like Doctor Dolittle gone wrong, doesn't it? Anyway, today at the cafeteria I met Hargun, Ambrose (werewolf-man! WH00SH!), a guy who calls himself Dude who has a KITTY (kittykittykitty!) that I've dubbed Mistah Dude, Timothy who's turning into a skunk (Ewies!), Ian, Cassidy (turning into a snake), and Vasile DiRossi... y'know, that actor guy in those movies or whatever. He has a cute little Manchester terrier I think it is... I wanna play fetch with it. But I dunno if he'd even let me touch it by how snobby he seemed to be acting to Mistah Dude.
If your wondering why I'm so calm I think it's because of the shock or something. I mean c'mon, being told out flat that your turning into an animal and your gonna be stuck here for the rest of your life? It's a little too harsh/ big of a concept to wrap your head around. It probably won't hit me until it gets later in the year and I don't get any snow... man, no snow will SO such major balls. I miss good ol' stinky Pennsylvania already. I'm gonna miss not being able to visit mom, dad, and grandma too... Man, when all this sinks in I'm gonna be a mess, you just watch.
But! For right now I'm not in that bad of a mood. I think I might take a nap or something and hold off on exploring tomorrow. I do have the rest of my life on this crust ball, anyway. S'not like it's going anywhere.
I leave with this food for thought: cheese is actually mold in disguise. That is all. Amaya let out a sigh and shut her diary before locking it. After getting changed into some PJ's she flopped underneath the covers and dozed off.

Getting to Know IanAmaya Vaughan Amaya lay under the shade of a large palm tree, her arms curled under her small pumpkin-shaped bookbag to make a makeshift pillow. Most of her day had been spent wandering about the Island, but head always had made her a bit sleepy. She had just sat down to take a rest and had ended up dozing off.
A moan escaped her mouth as the sun reached her shut eyelids, a gloved hand going up to cover her sensitive eyes as she rolled over onto her back to look up at the large leaves of the palm. Man, today was beautiful... Ian Campbell Ian wandered down the sandy shores of the beach heading towards the beach bar. As he walked leisurely towards it, he spied on of the people he had met yesterday. Upon getting closer he recognized her as the one hehad warned about demons. Damn, he thought. I wonder if she thinks I'm crazy...after a comment likethat surely she does.Veering in Amaya's general direction Ian came closer and he smiled at her apparent dozing. "Hello," he greeted. Amaya Vaughan "Hn...?" The young girl blinked a few times then looked over at Ian. "Hey... Hey!" She smiled and rubbed her eyes before sitting up. "Your Ian, right? How're you doin'?" Ian Campbell "Yeah, Ian." He replied. "I'm doing alright actually. Considering why we are actually here and all. How 'bout you?" Ian linked both his hands behind his neck, "You seemed to be thinking a minute ago." Amaya Vaughan "Actually, I just woke up from a nap." Amaya laughed slightly and grabbed her bookbag before standing. "I try not to think much about why were here and such, just makes the reality of it all sink in faster and I'd really rather not get all angsty." She brushed the sand off her bookbag and up it on before brushing the sand off her pinestripe pants and shirt. "Y'know, people deal with the only way they know how..." Her voice trailed off for a minute as she looked up at him. "But if you wanted someone to talk to about it I'm all ears." She kind of hoped he did and wanted to get to know Ian better. He seemed like a pretty okay guy. Ian Campbell Ian started to say something then stopped. The inner self was speaking to him again and he didn't want to slip up. Pushing the voice to the back of his head, he brought up the main subject he had been thinking about. "I just miss my little brother. Yesterday, when I met Timothy...Timothy could pass as James' identical twin, with the exception of the changes." Ian grimaced, "Sorry, didn't mean to ramble there. WHen I start speaking I just can't stop for some reason." Or that only happened here, he reflected. Just what urged him to talk to people here, he never had before.Maybe it is because you don't want to get lonely. The voice pushed its way to the front of Ian's mind. You cannot remain a recluse in life forever. The druids never did.Ian frowned at the voice then realized how he must lookto Amaya. FOrcing a smile he tried to become more cheerful. "Lookon the brightside, this is a tropical island we get to spend the rest of our lives in." Amaya Vaughan "Oh... I see. I thought you two looked pretty identical myself. It must be hard." Amaya patted his shoulder then laughed slightly. "It seems like you need more cheering up then I do." She looked around and her eyes rested on the beach bar. "We can go over there so you can have a drink if you want." Even though she was out of the United States and could probably legally drink here she wouldn't... it didn't seem right. She just hoped they had soda there. "C'mon." Amaya smiled cheerfully and grabbed his hand, leading him over towards it. Ian Campbell Ian felt Amaya grab his hand and flinched ever so slightly, hoping she hadn't noticed. He let himself be led to the bar, and once there he got himself a beer. Looking over at her, Ian wondered if she drank. "WHat do you want?" he asked. "There's all sorts of stuff here." Ian opened his drink and took a sip. "Yeah, I suppose I do need to be cheered up." He smiled wryly. "I never thought I'd ever hear myself saying that to anybody. Yet hereI am, doing exactly that." Amaya Vaughan "Anything non-alcoholic, really... do they have any soda?" She walked up by him and peeked around him into the fridge. Jeeze... most of these she didn't even know what they were. A frown played on her features and she looked to Ian, hopeing he might know what was non-alcoholic and what wasen't. "Well, everyone needs to be cheered up sooner or later. I just figured that instead of wallowing I coulda kinda help with that... y'know? Make people feel a little better about what all is going on even if it may be kind of subtle." She shrugged and crouched beside him, head in her palms. Ian Campbell Ian rummaged around looking for soda. Finding one inthe back he handed it to her. "I hope you like that flavor...I think it was the only one. ANd that is really nice of you to cheer people up. It is better than wallowing, which is kind of what I've been doing. I've been wallowing in missing my brother." Ian took another sawllow of beer. "I think I can cope...eventually" He did not admit that the voice was getting stronger, getting more control.....No one knew about the voice, but the day he coped would be the day teh voice took over. Amaya Vaughan "Thanks." Amaya took the soda and popped it open, taking a sip. "Well, you have every right too. I mean, you love your brother and you'll never be able to see him again... maybe." God, she just made the situtation probably much worse. Think THEN speak, Amaya. After mentally hitting herself for what she had just said, she motioned Ian over to the stools and took a seat on one with a hop. Danm stools made for giants. "But you don't know that for sure, right? There's always the chance of escape. Or he'll let us go. Or something like that. Don't give your hopes up just yet, y'never know what life might throw at you." Her legs started to kick back and forth, a habit she had gotten whenever her feet didn't touch the ground. Ian Campbell "I guess you're right, no use being down. James wouldn't want me to be sad, he was the type of person who always saw the good side." Ian thought about her life comment. "If life gives you lemons......that's what this place was supposed to be for me....it might still be." He clamped his hand over his mouth. Bad, no mentioning the creepy excited side of him. Removing his hand he drank more, wondering if it would be better to stop drinking as to let the voice have less control. Amaya Vaughan "Exactly. That's why I'm trying to help others out instead of focusing on myself. I know my parents and gran'ma would want me to be happy, regardless of what's happening... though they wouldn't want me to roll over for a madman either, so that's why I'm gonna try my hardest to help everyone find a way off this Island." The young girl kicked her feet back and forth some more and took a sip of her soda before raising a brow at Ian. "Huh? What'd ya mean?" Green eyes looked up at him with the curiosity of a young child. Ian Campbell Ian flushed a light red. A bright girl like Amaya would have definately noticed what he said and wanted to know more about it. WOuld he tell her about the voice? No, she didn't need to know that much. "ALright," he said."I came here because I was told it was a training camp for Ren Faire knights. I have always liked all things medieval, especially the druids. DO you know much about the druids?" He didn't wait for an answer. "The druids worshipped many gods and godesses, many of them appearing as animals. One of them in particular - The Horned One - a white stag. He was the guardian of the forests and very wise. He seemed human but had the hornes and mane of a stag. Manyof the lesser known guardians were like that as well, but the stag is the most well known. That's why it might be good here. I am reminded of the druids." Amaya Vaughan Amaya blinked and listened in silence as he filled her in why he was here and who exactly these 'druids' were. Once he was finished she thought for a moment, her eyes not leaving his. "... Ohhhh! Well, that's kinda neat. It's a good way to look at things, too." She took another sip of her soda, using two hands to hold it out of habit. She looked incredibly young sitting there, holding her can with two hands in fear that she might drop it and kicking her feet back and forth like a child. "Do you know if your turning into a stag? That'd be kinda neat and something you could sorta find comfort in, right?" Ian Campbell "I guess my bro rubbed off on me a bit. Without him around I need to be optimistic. A stag though..." His grew to a murmer. "A stag would be nice. They are such noble creatures...too good for me to ever turn into though." Ian smiled at Amaya, "the thought is nice though." You can be noble though, the voice remarked. Deep inside, you have the heart of a great person. Just accept it. Ian thought that over a second, "maybe....I might need to ask what I'm turning into. They've told theother people who have asked. What about you? WHat do you want to become?" Amaya Vaughan "Hey, your plenty noble." She grinned and nudged Ian in his arm with her elbow. Another sip was taken out of her soda as she thought over the question. Man... she never really thought about it before. "Can't really say... guess a kitty would be nice." Amaya just shrugged her tiny shoulders. "Their arn't many animals I really dislike, so it's kind of hard to pick which one I'd want to turn into..." She trailed off for a second and was about to take another drink before quickly adding. "'Cept monkies. I don't like monkies." A finger pointed at Ian to make her point before she was content enough to drink her soda again. Ian Campbell "Heh, monkeys are weird. Except for lemurs...except they aren't really considered monkeys much anymore, the do share common ancestry though." There he was, probably boring poor Amaya with his store of useless knowledge. "I prefer cervids to most other types of animals. That's why a stag appeals to me." Ian finished his beer and leaned back against the counter. "Many things cannot be changed, but those we cannot, we must see the best in." Amaya Vaughan "Yeah! Ring-tailed lemurs are really cute. I like their fluffy tails." Amaya smiled and kicked her feet back and forth. "What's cervid mean? Like... hooved animals?" She wasn't bored by him in the least. As long as the conversation kept going, she would never be bored... and even if the conversation did somehow manage to stop, she'd probably find something else to talk about randomly. Like the heat. GOD THIS HEAT. Ian Campbell Ian shook his head. "Not hooves, antlers. It's how they are seperated from the bovidae - cattle. Ring-tailed lemurs are nice....I was allowed to hold one once, on a zoo field trip in elementary school. It was really soft." Ian smiled, his talk of animals didn't seem to be boring Amaya, but he had to make sure. "I'm not boring you am I?" Amaya Vaughan "Ohhhheywait... Bulls have horns, don't they? And their cattle... right?" She raised her eyebrows up at him after taking another sip of her soda. "And your lucky. I've only got to hold a baby alligator. Really cute, though!" Amaya grinned and kicked her feet, laughing slightly. "No, why would you be?" Ian Campbell Ian smiled when Amaya said she wasn't bored. "Most people get bored talking about animals with me...I tend to ramble. And yesbulls have horns, but antlers have multiple prongs while horns do no. Cervids and Bovidae are both subsections of the same family - the family that has horns. The other family has hooved animals such as hoses and zebra - that do not have horns." Ian's mind began to wander. "That always made me wonder about unicorns. Horned horses they are said to be, but if they had a horn, they would be part of the Bovidae. Don't you agree? Perhaps they would be in a seperate category since they only have one horn instead of two as well." Amaya Vaughan "Well, most people are probably too... upset or something to really talk about animals when you stop to think about the situation." Amaya gave a shrug and sipped her soda. "Ah, okay. I think I get it now..." She then looked down at her soda and thought about the whole unicorn thing. "Yeah, unicorns would be in their own catagory... or in a catagory that was for all mythical beasts if they lived on Earth today since I think they had magical powers or something." Ian Campbell Ian nodded in agreement still leaning against the bar. "It's getting late, do you want me to walk you back to your duplex? I'm in number 19." Amaya Vaughan "Really?" Green eyes looked around... man, it was getting kinda late. "Sure!" After guzzling down her soda and throwing it in the trash can she hopped down from the stool. "Hey, I'm in number 20 right above you! That's pretty neat." Ian Campbell Yeah, it was 'neat'. "That's good, we're heading for the same place." Moving away from the counter, Ian walked with Amaya back to the village and the duplexes. Amaya Vaughan Amaya smiled and followed Ian all the way back to their duplexes. After giving a final wave and a goodnight, she headed upstairs into her own.((That's a wrap!))

Hargun's ChangeAmaya Vaughan Amaya walked downstairs with a bounce in her step, being in a generally good mood today. She wore a black hoodie with the hood pulled back despite how hot it was along with a green kilt and a pair of green pants underneath them. Jeeze, it was gonna take her forever to get used to the heat...
Gradually she made her way to duplex 16, the one she had found out that Hargun stayed in. So far, the red-head was the only one aside from Thorn who seemed to be around her age... maybe they could hang out today or something.
Stopping in front of the plain looking door with the number 16 engraved in it's plaque, she knocked. "Haaargun~, y'here? It's Amaya." Hargun Aikason After a while Hargun had decided to suck it up and just relax the rest of the day at home.. besides, shed eventually come out for everyone to see her. Her slightly larger ears twitched a bit as she could hear the trampling footsteps of another comming near the duplex. She panicked and ran for a long sleeve shirt to throw on. Unfortunately she didnt own any hats so she tried to keep her hair overlapping her ears to keep them hidden. The only thing that seemed to stand out were her imensely long arms, webs, and fingers... oh and hair. s**t.. Im not gonna be able to cover myself.. she thought and stopped rushing when she heard Amaya's voice from outside. "Uhhh... uh hold on Amaya!" she chirped and tried to turn off as many lights as she could, but the sun outside slid through the tiny lines of the window shades. She had kept them shut due to the fact that it seemed to hurt a bit to look towards it. She went to the door andcreaked it open, not showing herself and murmering to Amaya. "Uh... come in? BUT.. uh.. but dont get shocked k..kay?" she studdered. Amaya Vaughan She blinked and hesitantly walked in, closing the door behind her. "Okaaay..." Green eyes looked around and landed on Hargun before squinting. After being in such bright light then going into a room that was almost void of it, it took awhile for them to adjust. But once they did...
"Oh my god!" Amaya jumped and a step back, immediantly regreating her actions. "What happened?! You were just- and how can- ... well, danm." She slumped and walked closer. "I'm so sorry, I thought it was like... gradual. But... what happened?" Even though her arms were covered, the unnatural lenght of them had to be the creepiest thing on Hargun by far. Hell with the hair and pointed ears, her arms were LONG and looked like they had... webbing inbetween her fingers. Oh s**t, what was she turning into? Hargun Aikason Hargun nodded slowly and lookeddown to her clawed toes, wiggling them. "Yea, it is gradual. I got here at least a week and a half ago. I even thought I wasnt gonna change but.. apparently I am." she said, and lifted her arm to scratch at the back of her neck with incredible ease. And with a casual weak smile, she attempted to change the subject. "So what'd you come over for? I never get company to tell you the truth... course Im always out and about if not sleeping. Amaya Vaughan Amaya frowned sadly, feeling sorry for her friend. She seemed to be taking it kind of okay though... maybe it wasn't that bad. After a small bit of silence, she joined in the changed subject along with her. "Well, when we met the other day it seemed like you were the only one close to my age... save for Thorn. Though I don't really feel up to confronting her about the lies she told me so... yeah. I was just wondering if you'd like to hang out today 'n talk... 'n stuff." Gradually she was getting used to Hargun looking like that but since she had seen her just a few days before NORMAL... it was hard to adjust to like the others who had changed. Hargun Aikason "Ah.. yea.. I was talking with Lauren. Shes around our age." Hargun said then gave a rather sad look. "Lauren's not that bad you know. And call me crazy psycho batbitch, but she made a very good point the other day about Moreau... said he had good intentions." she made a flinching motion. "I mean with the exception of dooming us here." she smiled at being asked to hang out. "Sure.. Id love to hang out with yah. Uhm.. but like can I get a hat fom you o some sunglasses or something?" she laughed softly and rubbed her eyes. "My eyes feel a bit like theres an eyelash stuck in em you know? Just minus th itchy part I guess..." se said and turned to a mirror nearby to get another look at her face... her now semi-hairy face. "Urgh... and while we're outmaybe stop for a snack" she said rubbing her tumy. Amaya Vaughan "I suposse so, but I'd rather he get people like me... y'know, with nothing left to loose I guess. Ambrose said he has a girlfriend back home and you probably have a mom and dad, right?" She gave a shrug then looked around to think. "Uhhh, yeah! I have a hat back at my duplex and some sunglasses right here."
Amaya kneeled down and pulled the pumpkin-shaped bookbag off of her back before rooting through it and handing a pair of sunglasses up to her. "They might be a little small, I've got a tiny head." She laughed slightly and stood back up, putting her bookbag back on. "So your turning into a bat?" She tried to smile a little bit. "Bat's arn't that bad, kinda cute 'n fuzzy."
The young girl then turned to the door and looked back at Hargun to make sure she had the sunglasses on before opening it. "Okay, we'll zoom to my duplex, then grab some chow." Hargun Aikason "Ugh... yea. I had a life going on back then. Mum and Dad were pretty nice, andI was about to enter my last year of highschool.. and during the time looking for an art scholarship." she looked rather cheerful for a sec and dashed for her nightstand where she had her sketchbook and grabbed it, her fingers having a hard time getting a grip because of he new feeling of it. "Uh... okay.. hold on.." she said, attemtping a few different ways topick it up and finally got a grasp bringing it over to Amaya. "Heres some of my work... but I really cant do much with it now that Im here.. I just hoe this changing doesnt wait... a bat.." She paused and her eyes started to redden up again. Bats had wings duh, and wings meant long, non apposable thumbs and fingers. "..." she almost started to bust out crying but swallowed it down and shakily took the glasses and hat from Amaya, both fitting fairly well. It made her eyes feel a bit more relaxed, and figuring that they would be out in the sun it would feel like being back in her slightly dark room. "Oh Ill be right back a second.." she said and ent to the bathroom to chnge back into more cooler clothes.. despite the fuz and such. When she came back she nodded to Amaya. "Kay.. you place then food. Sounds great" Amaya Vaughan Amaya was about to hug the poor girl, but stopped herself as she skittered off to the bathroom. "Don't worry, see?" A gloved hand pointed to the finger without any webbing between it. "Mister Dude has hands like that but he can still use them. It'll just take a little practise, that's all." She tried her best to sound positive and cheerful before she peeked her head out of the duplex and headed towards her own.
She wasn't sure if Hargun wanted to be really seen by anyone else at the moment, so she walked rather quickly up the stairs to her duplex and unlocked the door, holding it open for Hargun and switching the lights off. Hargun Aikason Hagun move along quickly as well.Indeed she didnt want to be seen really.. even though most of the people would understand, she just didnt feel like being subject to a lot of recent taklk. Every once in a while her ears would twitch at a sudden bug or critter not far off and mde her almost hesitate. Why do I want.. oh.. nvermind.. she started to think and followed Amaya in, finally relieving herself of her squinting eyes. "Heehee. Nice place... gives me de ja vu." she snorted and looked around, trying to spot anything really dfferent about the basic shape of the place then noticed the phone that had now become a haunting roomate in her own room. "Mmm... do you... do you think I should contact Dr Moreau?" she sat down on achair and watched Amaya. "I dunno if he knows about me changing er not.." ((After we finish at Amaya's place wanna move to the Village ORP?)) Amaya Vaughan The young girl laughed slightly and dug around in her dresser. "Yeah, though I tried to make it a little more homey." She gestured to the walls, which were littered with movie posters like Hellboy, The Matrix, and Constantine. "My bunk back at the orphanage was pretty plain and redundant too, so I tried my best to give it a little personality... hence the posters." She shrugged then paused for a moment as she crouched, looking over at the pad of numbers.
"I... I dunno. That really depends if you think your up to talking to him." Amaya hesitated a minute before continuing. "I've been too chicken to ask what I'm turning into, myself..." She pulled a bright orange beanie out from under a pile of clothes and stood up, walking over to give it to her.((Sure. ^^)) Hargun Aikason "Nice." Hargun grinned. "If in the middle of the night tey go missing.. it wasnt me.." she snickered. Turning back to the subject of Moreau she sighed. "Well he KNOWS everything about us and wats happening about us.. and that what makes him so hard to talk to. You just dont wanna bother te man whose nowin control of your life." She looked at Amaya rather confused, from the beanie to her and back, then pointed one of her long pointy fingers at herself. "Fer me?" Amaya Vaughan Amaya laughed slightly and nodded in agreement. "Yeah, guess your right..."
Green eyes then looked down at the beanie. "Yeah, you said you wanted a hat and that's all I've got... sorry if it's too bright or hot for it." She slumped slightly, then looked around. "Hey... do you... think he has cameras in our rooms and stuff? To... y'know moniter us?" Her eyes went wide and looked at Hargun. If he did then he saw her... oh my god. Ohmygodohmygodohmygod. Hargun Aikason Hargun grinned and threw it on immediately and grinned. "I love it!" she squeaked and gave Amaya a hug, it feeling a tad awkward with lanky orangutan-lengthed arms. Then she gave the same wide look back at Amaya and shuddered. "Ererrrerrrrrr..." she had a rather sick looknow andsat bak in hr chair. For a moment or two she said nothing. Then finally laughed hysterically, somewhat nervously as well. "HAHHA. I.. In sure he doesnt have them.. or at least not in the bathrooms... and.. and.. he probably as female staff wtaching us.." she tried really hard to sound reassuring. Reasuring my a**.. I thought Moreau was nice.. but now I have to add perverted to the list..Amaya Vaughan The girl gladly hugged her back. Yay, someone who liked hugs! After which, she joined in her nervous laughter and nodded... though it didn't look very convincing. "Y-Yeah! I'm sure your right." Green eyes scanned the room once over to see if any cameras were there. Finding none, she quickly changed to subject. "Anyway! Wanna head out to the cafeteria?" Hargun Aikason ((Woah wtf went on there?)) "Yes please Im famished.." she said and did a look around too. Maybe her super handy ears coul pick up a lense focusing or a rotate of a amera. But no luck. Sighig she looked down, maybe to find one facing up at an angle from a crak in the wall or floor. No luck there either. "Alrighty then.. I guess she should go.." she said shifting the snglasses a bit and pulling the beanie down a tid bit more, then headed for the door. ((kay so you wanna make the next post at the Village? :3)) Amaya Vaughan ((Continued from Hargun's journal.)) Amaya nodded to her bat-like friends and headed out of the door, locking it once both of them were out. Quickly she made her way to the cafeteria and did a quick once-over of the place before stepping inside and heading for the buffet. Good, looks like no one else was there... for the time being at least. She recalled the other day how it had been barren until the place flooded with people.
She stopped by the salad bar and just kind of... stared at it. Salads had never been big on her priority to eat list since her parents had been very partial to the saying 'grab and growl'. A small laugh emitted from her throat as she made a small salad, thinking that soon that saying might turn out quite literal.
But why was she craving a salad? Green eyes looked down at it while she headed over to a table and waited for Hargun. She didn't touch it but just... stared. "Hey... Hargun? Did you have any weird cravings or something before you changed?"Hargun Aikason Hargun quickly follwoed after and once in the cafeteria, notcing the coast was clear, she sighed relievingly. She looked over all the trays for somethig to satisfy her appetite when she came across a plate of shrimp; that somehow looked much more heavenly than it did yesterday. "Well.." she began, while piling up a plate. "I... er... I bet youre gonna think this is wierd.. but.. I was and ave been dying for insects." she gave herself a wierd look and shok her head while adding more shirinp to her pile. I know.. it scared me so.. dont freak." she said and sat down a a table with a glass of soda and her verflowing late of shrimp hat se dug into automatically. Although she fgured nobody would come here, just a spur of the moment, she still listenedvery carefully for any sounds of someone coming. Cassidy Smith Cassidy was being brave, yes, really. She was out in public and everything. Well, it was that or not eat, so, fine. Screw Moreau. Screw everyone. No steak today. She was sick of steak. No, today, she had a plate of meatballs; something about the shape appealed to her. She also had a few sticks of pepperoni, ham on a bun, and a glass of iced tea, minus the ice. When you tend to hide out in your room, you got hungry. Cassidy peered into the dining area cautiously, her tongue flickering. Well. People she didn't really know. She'd met at least one of them, anyway. She steeled herself and made herself walk towards the girls. Amaya Vaughan "Euh, that's... pretty creepy." Amaya openly admitted before poking at her salad with a fork. "Though my craving doesn't seem to be that bad, I've just never wanted to eat a salad before. Maybe what I'm turning into is a herbivore or something?" She frowned, though it didn't seem that bad... their were a lot of neat animals that were herbivores, right?
Spotting someone walk into the cafeteria out of the corner of her eye she turned to look a smiled. It was... Cassidy, yeah! That was her name. Giving a friendly wave she motioned for her to join them. "Hi Cassidy." Hargun Aikason "Yea.." she noded scarfing down a shrimp. As she listened to Amaya she didnt noticed the sound of Cassidy making her way to the cafeteria. And when Amaya shouted out to her, Hargun neary lept from her seat and tried to cover her face, or anything she possibly could... bu wasnt doing a very good job of it. "Eheh.. heya Cassidy she said, her head turned down to her food as she tried to stuff herself. Cassidy Smith "Hi, guys." Cassidy grinned, and sat down. She looked at Hargun for a moment or two, her tongue flickered, and she sighed. "I guess, well, they got you." She waved a hand dismissively. "Some sort of... hm." She cut herself off, aware of her own insensitivity. She should REALLY know better. Yick. Well, it wasn't so bad. Still, these two girls were... they were so young! It seemed like an awfully horrible thing. Neither of them could be even out of their teens, and... Cass reminded herself she wasn't so badly off, after all. Amaya Vaughan The young girl immediantly felt bad calling out to Cassidy, having forgotten all about that Hargun probably didn't want anyone to see her. She frowned and looked down at her salad bowl, pushing the lettuce around with her fork. Then again, the red-head would have to confront people sooner or later and Cassidy would have joined them anyway...
In an attempt to try and keep the subject lite, she spoke up. "So how've you been Cassidy?" She haden't talked much to the woman the first time she met everyone else, but she still felt bad for her since she was turning into something she hated and all... Hargun Aikason Hargun decided it was okay to uncover herself now, not that much of her new features seemed very hidden at all. "Yea. Finally nipped me in the butt, that transformation did..." she took a long gulp of her soda and continued to eat the shrimp. "So Cassidy.. I hate to ask but.. how long have you been transformed now? Im trying to figure out if these injections have a schedule or something.. I havent gotten much info but.." she said, coughing to change her voice and could help but smile a bit. "'oh NOES we are turning into animaaals. whatever shall we do?' and 'hes such a b*****d that moreau... taking us away from our lives and yada yada...' and also 'you guys are here on my island and youre screwd- I mean doomed to stay here for ever as my pet HAHAHA.'" she gave a dull look. "Well.. forget that last one.." she giggled. Cassidy Smith "I'm doing.... mostly okay," Cassidy told Amaya. She felt obliged to be at least somewhat upbeat, or least put on a front for these two. "Let's see. Um. I've had..." Erk. Her new resolve to be brave wasn't quite up to saying that. "I've been like this for, um, a little over a week, I think. I don't know if there's any sort of schedule, though. As far as I know, no one's got their third injection yet." She stabbed at a meatball with her fork. "I think someone said there's a waiting period. I have no idea how long it might be, though." Don't think about that. Oh, no no no. Amaya Vaughan Amaya kind of drifted out of the conversation for a minute, letting Hargun ask her questions and such. Jeeze... she seemed like one of the only normal ones here now! How creepy. Taking another bite from her salad she almost choked, laughing at Hargun's comments. Hargun Aikason Hargun looked to Cass and nodded. "I see then. Ugh.. I know its not a good thing to ask for, but Id like some sort of staff member to help me out.. or you guys maybe. I mean right now weve assumed Im turning into a bat, but what kind and such.. and what will I need to do once my arms become wings and such.." she continued to ramble on, then took a deep breath. "I just love this place.." she moaned sarcastically, looking up to the ceiling. She heard Amaya coughing and smiled, patting her on the back. "Oh yes, and sooner or later youll be a freakus animalus like ourselves." she tried to make this next thing sound interesting, but attempted to keep off the border of depressing. "Lets try and guess what youll be, miss herbivore.. a chipmunk? A cow? A zebra?" Cassidy Smith "I'd certainly like to ask a few questions, myself. Will I be venomous? What will happen to my arms and legs?" Cassidy grimaced. "Well, I suppose that bats have some sort of thumb claw... so... maybe that would help some..." She was feeling just slightly old, hanging around with these girls. They had to be almost ten years younger than her, too. Geez. "I've been trying to work up the courage to track someone down and ask," she admitted. Amaya Vaughan "Oh god, a COW?!" Amaya snorted and took another bite out of her salad. "I hope not, that'd be awful. I used to go cow-tipping when I was little and it'd be like their beefy revenge or something."
She then let out a rather loud yawn, holding a gloved hand over her mouth. "Yeah, I'm still too afraid to call them up and ask..." After finishing the last bit of her salad she stood up. "And I'd hate to leave you guys, but I think I'm due for a cat nap." After bussing her tray she waved to both of them. "See ya Hargun 'n Cassidy! Drop by to visit anytime you want someone to talk to."((That's all for me. z.z *heads for bed*)) Hargun Aikason Hargun grinned. "Thats awesome... cow-tipping.." She watched Amaya yawn then tried to keep from doing so herself, those contageous devils. She then looked to Cassidy and said "I think Im gonna go too.. maybe sit around the duplex for a bit in the shade.. theres really nothing else I can do today and maybe hope that someone official at least notifys me that they know Ive changed.. sure hate to bump into Moreau and him be all 'WHAT THE HELL IS THAT.'" she laughed. After gulping down the rest of her drink and throwing away the crumbs of shrimp off her tray she waved to Cassidy, then handed Amaya the sunglasses she had been wearing before either one of them left. "Thanks so much for letting me borrow em. Ill just put the beanie over my forehead enough to shade my eyes till I get home." she grinned and pulled it way down over her eyes, but could see through the bottom of it to see where she was stepping, then headed out towards her duplex to hopefully get the hang of things with her somewhat-changed limbs. ((LAWL WRAPZORZ)) Cassidy Smith Cassidy stared after them, perplexed, and stabbed at another meatball. She found herself stifling a yawn. Dangit.

Questions UnansweredAmaya woke from her catnap and lay in her bed for a few minutes, staring up at the ceiling. So many questions floated in her skull that were unanswered. What was she going to turn into? Was it an herbivore or an omnivore? How long did it take to really change? Was it going to get worse or keep going even after the first transformation? And most importantly... WAS THAT PERVERT LOOKING AT HER RIGHT NOW?!
The thought made her shudder in fear and anger. She was too afraid to even talk to any of the staff that she could admit. But if she couldn't ask the staff then who else would know?
...
... Ambrose! The young girl smiled and sat up. When she had checked the duplex numbers he had been in number one, which means he was the first to arrive here AND probably the one with the most info. Giving a quite once-over of her room she rolled out of bed and took a shower, about to head out her door before stopping herself and looking back at her diary.
Those answers weren't going anywhere and for all she knew, the guy was still asleep. Back-tracking her way to her desk, she unlocked her diary and started writing.Quote: Dear Bob,
Today I went out and found out all the numbers of everyone's duplexes thanks to the directory thing. I headed over to Hargun's place since she seems to be one of the few around my age. When I got there I was in for a BIG surprise. She had changed over-night it seems into a BAT of all things. I thought that you gradually transformed, not in quick spurts but... there are a lot of other things I don't know either.
One of which came up while Hargun and I were talking. Is Moreau MONITERING us? As in... cameras in our rooms? I seriously hope not, ******** pervert. I'll never be able to change or get a shower again.
Hargun and I went out to eat and I ate a SALAD. ... Salad! I hate salad! Though she said that she was craving BUGS so... yeah, I'm not going to complain. I really hope I'm not turning into a cow, like she brought up. It'd be like me turning into a side of beef or something. Eugh, not something I wanna think about.
We bumped into Cassidy too, but I couldn't stay long because I was kinda tired and went back to my duplex after I finished my salad. Now I think I'm going to head over to Mr. Ambrose's place and see if he's comfortable enough to answer my questions. After locking her diary, Amaya headed out the door.

Truth or DareAmaya Vaughan Amaya aimlessly wandered along the beach, being dressed rather... lightly today. It was hot, she felt lazy, and she didn't expect to bump into anyone so she had just kind of said the hell with it for today. Though it seemed like she wasn't going to be that lucky. In the distance she could see tons of people are the bar, one being Hargun. A smile reached her lips and she took a step foreward but stopped and thought for a moment.
Was she interupting something? They were all at the bar afterall. She held up a small carton of orange juice she had been drinking and sipped some out of the straw, the habit of getting drinks from the cafeteria and walked around with them becoming a habit of hers.
"Hnnn..." Looking down at her boots then over at her bare arms that made her feel ridiculously self-conscience, she slowly made her way to the bar and silently took a seat by her batty friend. She leaned over and whispered a 'hey' to her, being uncharacteristicly silent to the others as she played with her glasses. Ian Campbell Ian waved a greeting to Dude before taking another drink of his beer. Hargun had chosen dare. He wasn't going to torture her like his classmates had done to him yearsago....WHatto do, what to do... "Hargun....I dare you to...." It was the first dare, something easy, that perhaps didn't seem to 'wimpy' of a dare. She was also only a teenager so..... "I dare you to........" he spied a bug scurrying across the sand and reached down capturing it. "Eat this bug." He hoped he wouldn't upset Greer too much with that dare. Hargun Aikason "Oye! Hey Amaya!" she said, turning quickly to her friend, replying just a bit too loud. Turning back to Ian she had a strange feeling. She knew he wasnt doing it to pick on the animal she was changing into, but it striked her funny at first. Shrugging she snatched the bug and said "Sure," then scarfed the poor thing down. It tasted suprisingly good. "Mm." she grinned. "Tasty." She looked to the ever quiet Pyroth and poked his shoulder. "Do you wanna go next? if so.. Truth or Dare?" she asked. Greer Cassenwari Greer whimpered a little, wishing that particular example of Lasioderma serricorne well into that long good night. Meep! Ian Campbell Ian watched in horror as Hargun was able to easily eat the beetle. Supressing a shudder at how weird that was he looked at Greer, hearing her small whimper. "I'm sorry Greer" he said then turning to Amaya waved to her. "Hi Amaya, how is you?" The Dude XD The Dude had plopped back onto the chair next to Greer, happy to see that she was happy to see him. He was sitting pretty close to her, but since he REALLY didn't want to make her embarassed (he didn't know she had talked to Ambrose), he was still keeping his flippers to himself. She looked cute today, and the half hearted eyeliner remains on her eyes were adorable. As were the little brownish feathers that were stickign out from behind her ears. The Dude has been so good and actually filled out two pages of the notebook, as well as spent an entire hour carefully lining her sketches with the water proof pen. And yeah, while there were a lot of other people there and he did wave to Hargun and to Amaya and Ambrose and everyone else, his eye were pretty much wondering over to Greer ever so often. So he was trying to concentrate on sipping his White Russian, the milky cocktail leaving a white mustached on his whiskers. Frag him, the pretty boy was here, too. Oh well. Ambrose promised ot stop the worst from happening, and the Dude happily put his reputation in the hands/paws of his buddy. Pyroth Ignatius Pyroth had finished his whiskey and settled into a mild reverie, his gaze on the bar top. However, he was starled out of his daydream by Hargun and looked up, somewhat dazed for a second before nodding. Why not?
"Truth." he stated, definately not being made to eat strange bugs or anything else of the sort. What could she ask him anyway?
Amaya Vaughan Amaya simply STARED as Harun ate the bug she had been dared to eat. "Ewwww..." Though her disgusted look quickly turning into a smile as she couldn't help but chuckle. She HAD said she was craving bugs, didn't she?
So they were playing Truth or Dare while drinking... that didn't seem too bad. Green eyes looked up to Ian and she smiled, glad she had picked a seat by the two people she knew the best on the Island. "I'm doing alright, do you feel any better since last time?" She hoped he did, not wanting him to be sad... though Ian did look a bit more happy today.
Her gloved hand rose slightly and she gave a shy wave to the Dude, only drawing attention to herself if someone noticed her. She looked over to the red-haired man that Hargun had dared. He was starting to change too, but she haden't met him before... Greer Cassenwari She sighed. "That's okay Ian - at least tabacco beetles aren't poisonous." Turning to smile at Sean again, she debated a bit before surrepticiously commandeering one of his hands. "Have you been a good boy and worked on your research?" Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose smiled and lifted his glass to the Dude, and watching their admittedly cute chatter.... field notebook...? He took another deep drink of the glass, and then refilled his cup with what was left in the blender. Hargun Aikason Hargun paused to think, scratching at her chin with her finger. "Hmmm..." Finally she got something. "Whose the nicest person youve met here on the island, and why?" she asked and looked around for a second oddly wanting to find another bug, then glanced up real quick at Greer remembering her whimper. "Im really sorry Greer." she frowned. The Dude XD He happily put his "commandeered" hand around Greer's shoulder and nodded to her: "Yep. I caught a yellowtail snapper and described him. Then I grilled him over open coals. His stomach had a few shirmp so I assume that's what he eats, but please don't ask me how he makes babies. And I also "described" some scallops. They tasted pretty good, too. AND I talked to Aubrey about a camera and books! I think I deserve a gold star, Miss Greer." He winked at her. Pyroth Ignatius The nicest person? Pyroth pondered that thought for a moment. He had met many nice people on this island since his arrival, in fact almost all of those he had met had been warm and pleasant towards him. All apart from the doctor that is, he had a cold and metholodical manner about him. However, there was really only one name he was bound to decide on.
"Not that most people I've met here haven't been extremely pleasant, but I'd have to say Colche, that girl seems like she wouldn't know how to do something nasty even if she had to. She keeps right on going despite everything else that goes on round about her, something even /I/ had to learn."
He nodded resolutely, yes, Colche had made the biggest impact on him since his arrival. As he spoke, he noticed Amaya for the first time, and the Dude whose arrival he had missed. Wow, there really were a lot of the islanders here tonight.
"So yes, Colche."
It only dawned on him then that meant it was his turn to choose someone to question. He picked the nearest person he could who just so happened to be the Dude.
"Dude, I take it you are joining in with the game? If you are, then truth or dare?" Greer Cassenwari Snuggling into him, Greer rolled her eyes. "I hope you don't plan on eating all your subjects - I'm sure a few of them will be poisonous. And as for gold stars, I'm afraid I'm plum out of stickers." Smiling at Hargun, she laughed. "Don't worry about it hun, you're the one who had to eat it!" The Dude XD The Dude smirked at Greer, still admiring how pretty she looked in teh dusk of the evening: "Oh yeah, no worry. I was going for the yummy ones first anyway. For motivation." He turned to Pyroth and grinned, showing white teeth: "Hmmm ... let's walk on the wild side - I want a DARE!" Amaya Vaughan So that Greer lady and Mister Dude DID have something! That was... creepy. She peeled her eyes from the couple back down to her neglected OJ and took a sip. Hargun Aikason Hargun nodded rather blankly. She hadnt met this Colche, but she figured she just wasnt an out-and-about person. She looked over to Amaya and laughed. She could tell there was a bit of 'wtf' in the way she was acting. "Help me find another bug please?" she laughed and shook her head. "No no wait! Be sure that its been on the bar.. anything that tastes good has been graced with the flavor of a table." Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose leaned closer to the Dude, intentionally getting closer to Greer as he did. "So, you've been doing research on fish?" He asked, honestly curious. He glanced between Greer and him, licking his lips and trying to think of what he could contribute. "THat... sounds like a rather ineresting use of time... being we have plenty of it." He clapped him on the arm. "Come on Pyroth! GIve him a challenging Dare!" He gave a fanged grin. Greer Cassenwari Greer rolled her eyes. Sean with a dare? This was going to be... interesting. Smiling at Ambrose, she rolled her eyes. "You're going to get him in trouble, aren't you?" Pyroth Ignatius "A dare eh?" Pyroth pondered for a moment what he could ask the Dude to do. He didn't intend anything /too/ contraversial, after all, he wanted to remain as unassuming as he had been since the beginning. So no kissing dares or anything, this wasn't high school. However, what did appeal a bit to Pyroth's ever so slightly drunk brain was a good old manly drinking challenge.
"Ok then, The dare is as follows, I dare you to drink either 10 bottles of beer or a half bottle of spirits without a single flinch."
He knew it was one heck of a lot of alchol but what the hey, it was the only thing he could think of at that point.
"Of course, if that's too much for you, then feel free to set any other more feasible amount" he smirked ever so slightly, calling the other man's bluff. Pyroth could never drink that much in a hundred years, but he wondered if the Dude would know that. Ian Campbell Ian whistled through his teeth. That was a helluva lot of alcohol....He would have never been able to do that dare, considering how he had started drinking only about two weeks ago. He turned and grinned at Amaya. "This will be interesting." Amaya Vaughan "Ah, yes. Gotta have that table flavor in there." Amaya looked around the bartop, but didn't see any bugs at the time being. If she did though, she'd hand it over to Hargun. The whimper and look Greer had made passed her, though she did hear both Ian and the red-haired bat appologize to her... she just didn't know what for.
She then looked innocently up at Ian. "Can't you die or something from that much alcohol? Like... alcohol-poisoning or something?" God, she hoped not... The Dude XD The Dude rubbed his nose with his thumb and nodded at Ambrose: "Yep. Cuz I know fish and stuff." He souded a bit embarassed there. Turning back to Pyroth, the Dude quirked his eyebrow and grunted: "Chug half a bottle of hard liquor. Hmmm ... sure, why not. Just dont' let me drown afterwards. Can I pick what to chug? Cuz tequilla gives me horrid hangovers." Thank heaves he had eaten a large dinner before coming to the beach. Hopefully it would soak up most of the alcohol. He stood up, leaving Ambrose next to Greer and trotted over to the bar, looking thru the bottles. Tequila - no, Bombay Saphire - no, vodka - nah, too wussy ...Captain Morgan Rum - hmmm ... good old Jack ... another possibility. He picked the Jack and swirled the ember liquid around the bottle. Then he looked up strickly at the two underage girls in the crowd and professed: "Now kids, this old Dude has already run his liver into the ground. So little harm done. But don't do this at home okey? Alcohol is bad for you. It's icky and smells of medicine. Oh, and Ambrose - you be my wing man. You keep me out of harms way, ya know what I mean?" - he winked at him, hoping Greer woudln't hate him for this. With that he took a deep breath, then put the bottle to his mouth and started drinking. God he was gonna regret this in a few hours. But a dare was a dare. YEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAA! Greer Cassenwari Greer groaned and rubbed the bridge of her nose, recalling the time she'd spent an entire night watching over her roommate as the poor girl had puked her guts out after coming home smashed from a party. This was going to be a loooong night, but at least she didn't have a midterm tomorrow. Pyroth Ignatius Pyroth raised his eyebrows as the Dude took his dare without even batting an eyelid. What had once been a grudging respect now went through the roof.
"Of course, your choice of spirits." he affirmed, still somewhat agape.
Then he watched, in probably as much shock and fascination as everyone else as the Dude made mincemeat of his challenge. If he had been back home, he would have given the man the best weapon he owned as a show of just how impressed he was. But as things were, he settled for a brief clap.
Respect.
Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose boggle at the dude... actually about to take Pyroth up on the dare... dear lord... He shook his head and gave The Dude a thumbs-up. "Good luck, man! And I'll do my best!" He smiled, a sincere one. He didn't mind at all being there to try to stop the Dude from doing anything stupid. ... after all, that might help him look even bet - no .. no... He was doing it because the Dude was his friend just as much. He shook his head at his margarita. He was here to have fun... And NOT forget. Things would happen as they happened. And these people were his friends. Vasile DiRossi Vasile watched teh goings-ons quietly from behind the bar. He did indeed play bartender where needed, refilling drinks and making knew ones. He wore a steady scowl on his face at the Dude's arrival, but held his tongue. He kept looking out for Cass, getting more and more dissapointed as it looked like she wasn't going to show. The Dude XD The Dude put the half full bottle down and filled up a glass with water, drinking it straight after. Oh god, that was alot of liquor. His inards were on fire. GAH. He saluted Pyroth and then turned his bewhiskered face at Vasile: "Hey pretty boy, choose your weapon. Truth or Dare?" He was holding onto the bar with all his might, debating wheter to even dare come next to Greer after this amount of alcohol or just keep away for her sake. he must be reeking of whiskey now. s**t. Well, at least he was not a wuss. Greer Cassenwari Greer shook her head, somewhat amused. As long as Sean could keep his food down she wouldn't really get upset. "Hey Vasile - another grasshopper?" she pushed her empty glass towards the self appointed bartender. Amaya Vaughan Amaya watched the Dude chug the alcohol, mouth agape. She wanted to run up and stop him, but... it was just a game right? It wouldn't hurt him... and their weren't any cars around for him to get in so it was okay. Yes, it was okay. Just let him be. Green eyes went back down to her OJ and she blew some bubbles through her straw with what was left or it. Vasile DiRossi Vasile licked his lips as he considered the Dude's question. What the hell," he thought, making another Grasshopper for Greer. "Dare," he said after he handed the glass to Greer with a smile. The Dude XD s**t, he had hoped for truth. Oh well. The Dude thought about what would be a good dare. His mind came up with a few "good ones" instantly, but there were children around and he REALLY didn't want to traumatize them too much. He already chugged the liquor in front of them. Bad example right there. "Come give me foot massage, sugar." - with that the Dude sat down and plopped his flippered foot on the bar in front of Vasile. Hey, he wasn't asking him to lick his dog's privates, right? This was all pretty tame ... Pyroth Ignatius Pyroth had actualy begun to really enjoy himself for once when he realised that he had to go. He had a schedule to keep, he needed a shower and to go wash his clothes for the morning, all that sort of stuff. Also he was even considering checking up on Colche. He hated having to leave just as things got interesting, but he hoped he would be caught up later by one of the others.
Getting to his feet, he downed the last of his third shotglass of whiskey he had procured that night and bid the rest of his fellows goodnight.
"Hate to leave about now, but I have things I intended to do tonight. I'll see you all around though."
"And Dude "he gave the Dude a nod "Take care." after all, if any harm came to the man the blame would probably fall to Pyroth in the end.
And with that he made his (somewhat unsteady) way back up to the duplexes, feeling actually quite contented. Greer Cassenwari Waving good bye to Pyroth, Greer grinned at Vasile. "Looks like you have nice, tapered fingers for that too." Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose coughed a smile and looked to Vasile as the repercussions of that dare immediately leapt to mind. Vasile was trying his damndest NOT to think about the physical changes that had come over many of the other Islanders - even refusing to tug on Ambrose's fur on his hands... he wondered how he would handle TOUCHING the Dude's webbed feet. He was distracted by Pyroth's exit. "Take care, Pyroth! See you around!" He called after him and leaned closer to Greer, giving her a playful smile. "Enjoying yourself?" Hargun Aikason Hargun started to cough in laughter at the dare given to Vasile. "I was gonna ask for a glass of water but Ill go get it myself since youre going to be messaging the Dude's grundgey feet." she said and got up real quick and poured her a glass then sat down quickly to watch the interesting show. Vasile DiRossi Vasile just sat that there and stared at the Dude's...feet. Or whatever the hell they were. They looked... oh man, Vasile couldn't keep the curl from his lip off his face. But he was here to proove a point. Wiping off his hands on his bartender's towel, he took a deep breath and wrapped his manicured hands around the rubbery flippers. The texture did take him aback- he was expecting them to feel like all the other latex make up he had been exposed to before. These felt... different. But he had never touched a real sea-lion, so he had no basis to compare them.
He began to rub and felt his stomach lurch a bit. Between clenched teeth he forced a smile. "Feel good, honey?" He seethed out.
He took another swallow and made himself think of something else. "Truth or Dare, ol' Buddy," he said, looking to Ambrose. Ian Campbell Ian cracked up.This game was much more fun than when he had played it in high school. Taking a swallow of beer he promptly choked upon hearing Hargun's comment. Finally able to breath again, Ian watched Vasile, a gleam in his green eyes. Amaya Vaughan The young girl was thankful that the next dare didn't have something to do with alcohol... it was a pretty funny dare too. She stiffled a laugh and remained quiet, waiting to see what Vasile's reaction would be.
A gloved hand rose and gave a quick wave to the red-haired man... she'd have to make a mental note to maybe meet him sometime later. Greer Cassenwari Draining half of her new glass, Greer nearly choked on her minty drink laughing at Vasile's expression. Nodding to Ambrose, she grinned. "That alone was worth whatever else happens tonight. You having fun?" Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose was positively chortling as he watched Vasile come around to rub the Dude's flippery feet. At least he didn't seem particularly wigged out, just.... disgusted. However, the question halted his laughter and he straightened, coughing into his hand. He had thus far managed to avoid drawing attention to himself since he started off the game. Ah well, might as well take it like a man. "Dare!" Ambrose proclaimed with a grin. The Dude XD The Dude turned around to give Greer a big grin for the support and saw Ambrose cozying up to her a little. WTF? Eh, whatever, must be seeing things. Testosterone + alcohol = never a good combination. Instead, he turned back to Vasile and stretched out his armd behind his head: "Oh yeah, sugar, you really know how to work it. Thansk!" He put his foot down and poured himself another glass of water. His stomach was contracting and the Dude's mind was slowly but surely being clowded over by an amber haze. Maybe he should stand up for a sec here, go puke somewhere privately before his heart decided to stop on him. Chugging half a bottle of whiskey was no small feat. Vasile DiRossi Vasile grinned. This would be easy enough to slip in being the choice of fairer sexes was slim pickings right now. And someone had to do this eventually. And he was a man on a mission. Rubbing the Dude's feet with a bit more.. passion, he looked to Ambrose and said, "In the most romanic, sauve, knigh-that-just-saved-the-damsel-in-distress way you're cabable of, Wolfman, give your lady-faire of choice here a kiss." You owe me one, buddy! The Dude XD The Dude grinned and added right after Vasile: "Because our lady fair over here just can't wait to make out with you!" - he pointed at the movie star. Little did the Dude know that he was about to eat his words. Greer Cassenwari Greer giggled. "Ooo, Vasile, you're going to have to teach me how to please men so well!" Vasile DiRossi Vasile scoffed a laugh at the Dude and, though he honestly had no real interest in Greer that way, she left too big an opening for him to stop himself. He leaned on his elbow over the bar at her. "I'll be more than willing to give you a personal lesson if you like, babe!" He winked at her playfully. Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose coughed, blinking a few times at Vasile and then around at the people around him. Let's see... ladies... There of course was Greer... but other than that there was only Hargun and Amaya - both very young.. Hooo boy... his face was already reddening and he was begining to wonder if him talking to Vasile was the best of ideas before this drinking party. But... what the hell, right? He could analyze later whether or not it actually meant anything. He first sheepishly grinned to Greer, responding to her earlier question. "The night, apparently, has just begun.... milady." He got to his feet and gave a small bow. "Seeing as milady Greer is the only woman whom I may not get arrested for kissing...." He glanced to the Dude. "Who is infact a lady" He smirked and stepped closer to greer, whispering very lightly to her, "Not that it would be a difficult choice even if the entire population of the Island were here..." He sucked in his courage, took a hand chivalrously in one of his, thanked the alcohol in his system for allowing him to summon the nerve to do this, and leaned forward, touching his lips to hers and giving her a warm, althoug chaste, kiss. Greer Cassenwari Greer had been about to attept to say something nice and insulting to Vasile, but Ambrose's choice, and mostly what he whispered to her, made her rather speechless. Leaning back, she smiled haltingly and ducked her head. "Um, thanks, I think. Nothing like not being jailbait to really make a girl feel special." She glared at Vasile's porcelian smile. He was clearly up to something. Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose straightened his collar afterwards, glancing hesitantly to the Dude before retaking his seat, still BEAT red.. "Ah... EHEM! welll..." He glanced around the table... who had been spared the mercy of embarrassment so far...? "Amaya! Truth or Dare?" ((EDIT - Amaya's still about, right?)) Ian Campbell Ian finished his beer going behind the bar to grab another. Tking is back to his seat he grinned. Things were getting interesting....Ambrose had been dared to do enarly exactly the same thing he had to do years ago - kiss another guy's girlfriend. He laughed and took a swallow. As long as he didn't have to do anythng like that. The Dude XD The Dude gave Vasile an amused look, but then watched Ambrose smooch Greer, clearly surprised. Heeeeeey! Well ... Ambrose was right, she was the only legal girl in the room. That b*****d Vasile! Thought of everything. The desire to give Vasiel a black eye intensified, warmed up by Jack Daniels. He really should go puke sometimes soon, this was getting bad. Poor Greer! All this abuse! Vasile, little p***k, cornering the girl like that ... the Dude smiled encouragingly at Greer then at Ambrose, who was a lovely shade of red: "Sorry, Ambrose" - he walked up to the two and kinda hovered between the two, his flippers on each of their's shoulders" "You got cornered there. I shall avanged you once it's my turn! And you too, grasshopper." Poor Ambrose. Having to kiss another girl when all he had on his mind was Angelina. Vasile was sure a little p***k. Just because his love life didn't go anywhere, he had to ******** with other people's feelings. Amaya Vaughan Amaya blinked and looked up from her drink as her name was called. "Huhwhat? Oh! Uhm..." She looked around, trying to think of what to do. They weren't mean or anything, so dare would probably be okay. "Dare!" Greer Cassenwari Greer shook her head quickly, stopping when it caused the world to spin. "That's okay Sean! I-I can take care of myself." Somehow, after what Ambrose had said in her ear she felt bad about the Dude trying to 'defend' her. Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose's blush seemed to spread more across his face as all he got from the dude was... not anger... but sympathy. "It... it's alright, Dude... really." He forced a grin and patted his flipper. "I'll live... I promise!" He turned his focus to Amaya, scratching his chin thoughtfully. She was underage - by far - so no alcoholic antics. He looked around the bar and the beach, pondering. "I Dare you, Amaya.... to go find some seashells, seaweed, and whatever else on the beach, and decorate a person of your choice here with them." He beamed a smile. Ian Campbell Ian chortled some more, burying his face in his beer as best he could. He wondered who Amaya would decorate. Whoever it was, they would be a sight to behold....too bad he didn't have a camera. Greer Cassenwari Laughing, Greer finished off her drink. "Nice one." Amaya Vaughan "OHYAY!" The young girl perked up almost immediantly and shot off like a bullet to collect what she needed. What a fun dare!
She returned shortly with seaweed drapped over her shoulders and a pile of seashells and small pieces of driftwood in her arms. "Okay!" Approaching Vasile from behind, she put her equipment on the bar and started to place the stuff on him. Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose's face split into a grin. He was happy to see her excited by the dare, and roping Vasile into the 'fun', wondering exactly what he might end up looking like after her magic was worked. His tail began wagging back and forth enthusiastically. "Nice collection you acquired!" Hargun Aikason Hargun laughed as she watched Vasile getting draped in seaweed and other beach items then yawned. Even though this would be her most active time, she had returned to a somewhat normal sleep schedule since the day of her change. "Imma head out soon guys.. but I wanna stick around a little longer. This has been a really entertaining event." she laughed. The Dude XD Oh god oh god ... the room was starting to spin. Okey - INTERVENTION. The Dude patted Greer on the naked shoulder then walked out rapidly and purposefully out of the bar. Walking into the opposite direction from Amaya, he cleared a considerable chunk of the beach then made a beeline for the palm trees and the darkness of the jungle. Barefoot and not seeing where he was going he just wanted to get away from people without making an embarassment of himself. About five minutes later he emerged from the jungle, feeling a bit better and went to wash up in the lagoon. The cold water on his neck and shoulders felt even better for handling the spinning world around him. He could do this. Frag Pyroth, sneaking out before he coudl retaliate for making him drunk as a skunk. Heh skunk was Timmy's job, not his. Funny! Grinning for no good reason, the Dude walked back to the bar and entered the brightly lit area. He was not aware of it, but on top of his blond dreads sat a large, pissed off looking spider, complete with some spider webs that the Dude had ran into on his track thru the jungle. "Oh WOW. Good job Amaya! It's pick on Vasile day! We should have this weekly ... kinda like therapy for him, eh Vasile?" - he grinned, patting her on the back. The spider began it's descent from the Dude's head onto his shoulder. Vasile DiRossi Vasile gave a mock-defeated look, but took the dare in stride. He smiled and laughed to himself as he was donned by seaweed and various shells. "You know when I first saw you I thought you might be my make-up artist!"
His smile, unlike most of the time when it looked posed, was genuine. The look in his eyes would actually imply he was having fun. Greer Cassenwari Greer cheered, clapping. "Amaya, you're my heeeeero!" Turning when Sean patted her shoulder she frowned, watching him disappear and return. Catching sight of his companion, she cooed. "Ooo, lovely Citharacanthus spinicrus you've got there!" Ian Campbell Ian downed the rest of his second beer. This was great. Seeing the pretty boy actor get seaweeded was worth every second of his time here. Again wishing for a camera, Ian just went and grabbed a third beer. Then the Dude came back from the trees...wearing a huge spider on his head. Ian gave a yell and leapt backwards. Spiders were not his thing. Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose gave a hearty round of applause for both Amaya AND Vasile for being such a good sport. "Beautiful! And agreed - this has been a great deal of fun." He beamed, sitting back down. However, at the Dude's approach, he gave a muffled yelp of surprise at the giant spider in his hair before smoothing himself back down. Great, Greer was calm of course - it was a bug of some sort, and he had looked like a wuss. Trying to cover, he walked over to the Dude... it... probably wasn't poisenous, right? "You.. ah... that's a great Spider in your hair, Dude!" he gestured, trying to brush it off. Amaya Vaughan "Oh yes, of course!" Amaya giggled and stood back to admire her work. His hair looked like slimy green dreds and a few pieces of the driftwood had been shoved into his t-shirt sleeves to make them look like makeshift armor. Some of the hermit crab shells she had found at been shoved onto the juts sticking from the driftwood like decorations as well. "Ta-da! ... Oh wait." Grabbing half of an old clam shell, she placed it on his head. "There." She grinned, marveling at her work.((Augh, sorry. Gaia messed up for a sec there.)) Cassidy Smith Fashionably late? Nah, just plain old late. Cass had dozed off during the afternoon, which may or may not have had something to do with getting chilled. Anyway, she was here now. She made her way towards the sound of voices, snuggled into a baggy sweater, hands in her pockets. The Dude XD Oh oh ... judging by the grossed out look Ian just gave him and how Greer suddenly started cooing happily about something spinicrus, the Dude's whiskey fogged mind realized that something bad was on him. At the same moment a ticklish feeling of eight little claws on his bicep alerted him exactly where this monster that was making Greer squee was. He looked, wide eyed and EEEEEPED like a girl, trying to shake the bloody thing off of himself. The spider, blinded by the light and terrified was perdictably holding on for dear life. "NOT FUNNY! GET IT OFF MEEEE!" - he pleaded to Ambrose ... and to Greer. He trusted her mroe with spiders then Ambrose ... ((EDIT: LOL, perfect timing, Cass. Vasile has just been decorated with see weed and Dude dragged in a spider! )) Vasile DiRossi Vasile's face, already looking a bit flushed from the alcohol, lit up like a lightbulb when he saw Cassidy approach. "CASS!" he called out to her, waving. He was standing behind the bar, decked out with seaweed and shells around him and in his hair. Besides sea-life, he was wearing an open shirt, swim trunks, and a pair of sandals. Amaya Vaughan Now lets see... who would she dare? Amaya looked around. Everyone seemed to have been dared already, though Ian haden't been in awhile. Sitting down, she nudged him in the arm with her elbow like she had a few days before. "Ian, truth or dare?"
She then jumped at the rather girlish squeel that emitted from the Dude and watched, amused as he flailed about while trying her best not to burst into fits of laughter. Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose beamed a smile at Cassidy as she approached. "Cassidy! Alright! Glad you could come!" He gave Vasile a subtle wink and turned back to her. "Come on up, have a seat, and let our marine bartender here fix you something. We're playing Truth or Dare." He said as a halfway explanation. "It's Amaya's turn to pick someone" He said, plopping back down into his chair ... as the Dude proceeded to run frantically around with the Spider clinging desperately to him. Greer Cassenwari Rolling her eyes, Greer grabbed his arm. "Stay still, you big baby. Pfft, men." She reached over and calmly plucked the frightened beast off of him, being careful to avoid its fangs. Still laughing at Sean and Ambrose's reactions, she disappeared into the woods, released the tarantula, and returned to her seat, smiling at Cassidy. "Hey you! We were wondering if you were going to show." Ian Campbell Ian lifted his head. "Dare I guess." he said. Where was the harm, the others had been dared. It couldn't possibly be too bad. "Hey" he said to the new arrival. He hadn't met her yet, andhe neededto introduce himself. "I'm Ian." he ignored the fact that she had scales. Cassidy Smith Cassidy blinked. "Oh... kay." She shook herself, trying to forget about the spider (uuuuuggggh) and grinned sheepishly. "I fell asleep. Um. Sorry. I'm here now, though." And she promptly yawned. "Hi, Ian. I'm Cassidy." She smiled nervously, then said to the crowd as a whole, "What's Truth or Dare got to do with... um... well..." She pointed at Vasile's new fashion statement. The Dude XD Saved form the spider, the Dude sat down on a far away bar stool and pouted. He was cool with spiders ... he really was. But not when they were the size of his hand and appeared suddenly. GAH! Did he really just yelp like a litte girl? Frag. There goes the tough male image the hald a bottle of liquor gave him. He watched Greer fluff her feathers and go release the beast. "Yo Cass." - he finally realized the Canadian girl was here. Greer Cassenwari Awww, poor sea lion man! He looked absolutely adorable when he sulked. Putting an arm around his shoulders and giving him a quick kiss on the lips, she grinned at him. "You protect me from the alcohol and I'll handle the tarantulas, okay?" Amaya Vaughan "Hi Cassidy." Amaya waved, feeling less self-conscience now that she had been able to vent her energy on Vasile's wonderful new look. "And I did that!" She pointed proudly to him. "It was a dare."
"Hmmm..." A gloved hand rubbed her chin as she looked up at Ian, plotting. "I dare you to..." As she thought, she finished her OJ then looked down at it and held it up in the air as if she her lightbulb had just went off. "Balance this carton on your head and sing Yankee Doodle!" Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose's finger circled the glass of his now empty margarita as he watched the two of them cute next to eachother again with a sigh. Was he jealous of Greer... or just that there was a couple here... and he really really wanted Angelina... to hold... to comfort him...? He slid the empty glass to the bartender, and held up a finger for 'one more'. "Vasile here was the target of Miss Amaya's dare to... ah... decorate someone" Ambrose averted his mind to the mirth at hand. Ian Campbell Ian gonked. He didn't know the lyrics to yankee doodle.....But being the good sport (the alcohol helped too) he grabbed the carton and balancedit on top of his head hoping it wouldn't fall once he started to sing. Standing up tosing the carton fell off his head. Putting it back on, he began to sing off key but in a soothing tenor voice Yankee Doodle probably getting most of the words wrong. The Dude XD Oh, now the Dude was all better. What magic a little kiss can do. "Sounds like a deal. That was a tarantula? Are they mean?" - he asked as he stood up to fill a large glass of water for her. "Here, oh my hero. Drink!" - he gave her the glass then patted his lap, inviting her to come perch on it. Vasile DiRossi Vasile waved again to Cass. "Hey girl, can I get you anything to drink?" He asked from behind the bar. Cassidy Smith "Oh, I dunno, Vasile. Something hot. Some sort of Irish coffee or something, if you have it. Aren't you people cold?" Cassidy took a seat on the ground, crosslegged, and sat down to watch, hugging herself. Amaya Vaughan "Yay!" Amaya watched him, throughly amused and tried her best to stiffle her laughter to no avail. It was nice to see Ian having fun! At least... she hoped he was having fun. Greer Cassenwari Accepting the water and the lap offer, Greer took her new seat and managed only to spill a little liquid down her front. Coughing, she put down the glass and clapped for Ian. "Bravissimo! Encore!" Answering Sean's question, she nodded vigorously. "When frightened yes. And they have big fangs and lotsa venom." Vasile DiRossi Vasile rummaged around and found the direction for Irish Coffee. He made it, and feeling proud of himself, he brought it over to Cass, sitting down next to her and holding it out to her. "m'lady," he said with a smile. He looked utterfly ridiculous with bits of seaweed hanging from his hair. Ian Campbell Ian took a bow forgetting the carton was on his head. It tumbled to the ground and he laughed. He was having fun. This was the best time he had had in a long while. "Ambrose!" he grinned "Truth or dare" he didn't know cassidy well enough to ask her truth or dare yet. Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose looked over to Ian quickly, blinking. "Me...? Uhm... how about... Truth?" He smiled, not knowing Ian that well. He took a sip of his fresh Margarita courtesy of Vasile. Cassidy Smith "Thanks, Vasile." Cassidy took a sip, relishing in its warmth, and peered at Ambrose carefully. Truth or Dare. Weird. The Dude XD Holding Greer on his lap and using majority of his will power to not try and get fresh with her, the Dude answered back at Cassidy: "Cold? NOPE. But if you are, I know someone who wouldn't mind fixing that for you. Hint - he's ugly and has a yappy dog." That's right, Vasile. Greer Cassenwari Perking up at the idea of embarrassing the oft-pink Ambrose, Greer spoke up. "Ooo! Ooo! Ask him if he can howl and to prove it!" Ian Campbell Ian grinned...what could he ask Ambrose. Howling sounded good......but there were so many things he could ask the wolfman "Ambrose," he began the effects of the beer making him slightly tipsy. "The fair lady yonder wants to hear you howl....so can you?" Amaya Vaughan "Well, as much as I'd like to stick around, I think I should head off to bed." Amaya smiled and stood up, tossing her OJ carton in the trash. "See ya guys!" Waving to everyone, she headed back to her duplex.

Questions Answered & A Big BrotherAmaya Vaughan Amaya skipped her way downstairs, one hand on the railing and one hanging onto the strap her her pumpkin bookbag. She had finally gotten around to going to meet Ambrose and hopefully get some answers to what exactly was going on here. What if he had a hangover from the night before? That would really suck. She frowned, the music blaring in her headphonse pulling away what worries she had. Kick the can had to be the best DDR song ever. The young girl grinned and sung her own set of lyrics for the tune as she walked to duplex number one.
"All day lookin' for a good fight Cuz tonight is fight night Happens every day And happens every single- NIIIIIIIIII wished that bunnies ate Trix Do it like the Matrix Have a Twix and say It's all remixed
The flutes, the trumpets, and the bassoons Sound like rabid raccoons Chasing me 'til noon I hope that Striptease 2 come's out- Sooooooooner than you think I'll be back Dressed to kill, all in black I have the knack Of always gettin' slapped--"
She twirled around outside Ambrose's duplex singing for a few moments before finally turning off her CD player and letting her headphones hang around her neck. A gloved hand reached up and knocked as Amaya rocked back and forth on her heels, still humming the tune. Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose had been out of the shower for about twenty minutes. He had toweled off, drunk some tap water to further rid himself of the headache, and was wearing his pants with the towel around his neck, and was brushing his teeth when he heard a knock at the door. Pausing in his grooming he wandered into the main room, talking around the toothbrush. "Who is it~?" He called out, opening the door and blinking down at the young girl. He looked amusingly caught in the moment - he had honestly been expecting someone like the Dude to perhaps be calling in the morning. His hair was still disheveled and wet, his shirt was off giving Amaya a good look at the thick, damp fur covering his shoulders and back, and the thick hair/fur on his chest. Completing the picture he had a toothbrush in his mouth, the foam covering around his mouth. "Mmph!" He said in greeting, holding up a finger and zipping off to the bathroom to spit out the toothpaste and rinse his mouth out. Amaya Vaughan Thank god she was used to having to look up to people. Otherwise she would have had the pleasure of staring at Ambrose's rather furry chest. Giggling, she waited outside the door while he got ready. "Sorry! Didn't mean to barg in on ya like that!" Ambrose Maurlias "Oh no! It's fine!" Ambrose's voice called back from the bathroom. He hurriedly toweled off again and put the shirt he had set out for himself. He jogged back out into the livin room. "I just wasn't expecting you. You'll have to excuse me - I'm not exactly 'groomed'." He smiled sheepishly. "What can I do you for, Amaya?" He asked, sitting down in a chair and gesturing to the other. Amaya Vaughan "That's alright, I barely groom myself at all aside from brushing my hair and stuff." She shrugged and walked in, taking a seat on the chair he offered. "Well, I have a lot of unanswered questions about this whole thing but I'm way too scared to talk to any of the staff about it. I figured since you've been here the longest you'd have the most infomation?" Green eyes looked from her hands folded on her lap to him. "That is if your up to it and comfortable to answer them... I don't wanna put ya down or anything." Out of all the people he was one of the one's that REALLY didn't like being here and it could bring up some negative emotions... but who else could she talk to aside from the staff? Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose looked to her consideringly, and ran his hands through his hair doing a meagre attempt to detangle it. He looked out the window and then nodded to Amaya. "Yes, from what I can tell I was here a good couple days before I saw anyone else. Though Pyroth says that he had been here almost as long as I had been when I finally did run into him. Though I guess that's not a big surprise - Pyroth keeps to himself for the most part. It was pretty lonely or a time." He looked back to her directly. "Yes... I'll do what I can to answer your questions." He summoned a smile for her. Amaya Vaughan "Thanks." Amaya gave him one of her many geniune smiles and then thought for a moment to put all her questions in order. "So, the shots they give us are what's changing us. I've figured that much out... but I thought that one shot was all they needed to give us and we just kinda gradually grew into it. Then I saw Hargun who had changed and it was like she transformed over night... so it must work in spurts, right?"
She looked back up to him, her brow furrowed and the smile gone. She really didn't like talking about this but... what else could she do to get answers? "I'm just guessing that they give us more shots and that's what makes us change. But how many? And will this ever be over?" Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose looked down at the fur that was growing on the backs of his hands and pondered how to answer these tough questions to the young woman. "They gave us all an injection when we first arrived from what I can surmise. That was... well, you don't start changing from that one. I guess it... sets it up - from what I've gathered from watching othersand speakign with the staff. They told us all different excuses to give it - most people saying it was some sort of vaccination for Dengue fever. After that, you have to get... supplementary injections. Anyone you've seen that have... well... features - we've only gotten our second injection. Aubrey... she said that there were at least a few more until we're done..." He winced. "I... I don't know how bad it's going to get. But she said that they THINK that we'll at lest have use of your voice an hands..." He looked back to her. "After the second injection... it might take a day or so, but then you start to change. And it happens over a matter of a couple hours from what I saw." "But -" he interrupted. "From what I heard from some people... they come while you're sleeping to give you the second injection, so you might not even know. ME and the Dude - we went in to get it. I thought I was part of some medical study, so I didn't even know anything was wrong until I started to change... I was the first for that, too." He looked back to her. "And as far as being over.... I think that the process will finish, but they've as much as said that we pretty much aren't going to be able to leave. What they're doing here isn't legal. And unless they ever 'go public' with this.... we're captives." He pronounced darkly. Amaya Vaughan The young girl listened intently, then once he was finished she leaned back on the chair and put her hand over her mouth as if she was thinking. Her eyes strayed from Ambrose and onto nothing in particular. For the first time since she arrived, she actually looked her age.
A sigh escaped her lips and her hand dropped to her lap again. "I see." She'd have time to think of that later. "What about escape? And surveilance? I have no doubt that the man has set up cameras all over the Island and added tons of security since he doesn't want us to escape or harm his staff. But does that give us any shed of privacy at all? In our... rooms even?" Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose scratched at the arm of the chair after regarding her carefully to see how she took the news. She was taking it surprisely maturely - thinking about things analytically. As she would look around Ambrose's room, she would note that there was very little in the way of personal effects - only a framed photograph sitting on the bedside table separating it from a new room. "I can't tell you how cohesive their surveilance is as far as in our rooms, other than the fact that it's here. I don't know anywhere that isn't monitered. The Dude even got bit by a snake out in the jungles, and Aubrey was there within a few minutes with medical supplies. And I don't know how they are hiding them because I sure as hell havent' spotted any." Ambrose wanted to tell her abotu his and the Dude's suspicions about there at least not being microphones offshore, but obviously couldn't mention such while under surveiliance. "As far as escape..." He sighed and shook his head. "Believe me, I've thought about it. However, aside from constant monitering, The Doctor controlling all entrance and exit points from the Island, All of the staff apparently VERY loyal... there's a further complication. Aubrey says that after our injections have begun our genetic makeup becomes ... well.. unstable. Without the doses that will be slowly turning us into animals, it's likely that we'll develop cancer... or our genes, well, breaking down." His face looked a little pale as he repeated what he was told. "So even IF we could escape, if it's before the process is complete, it might very well kill us. And it could take months or years for them to complete the process." Amaya Vaughan "Yeah, I remember Dude mentioning cancer before and I can see it happening..." Amaya went into the same stance as before, thinking. She closed her eyes for a moment to try and collect her thoughts, opening them only after she had take everything she had been told and stored it away to be thought on later. Let's see... what else did she want to know?
Green eyes stopped on the framed picture by his bed and she gave a tiny smile. "She's pretty." Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose felt a lump developing in his throat as she made the comment, his thoughts from this morning flooding back. Even the mention of Angelina brought a well of emotions to his chest.... How could he ever imagine moving past her...? "That... that's Angelina. My girlfriend." He gave a sad smile. "And... thanks. She is." His eyes spoke of sadness. Not wanting to let go, but at the same time, not truly thinking he'd ever see her again. Amaya Vaughan She immediantly regretted saying something just by the tone of Ambrose's voice. Looking down, she spoke in almost a whisper. "Sorry." Closing her eyes for a moment she stood up and walked over to him, giving him a tight hug and speaking into his ear. "It's alright, we'll figure something out." Smiling she pulled away and patted his shoulder. "Your little sister is here for ya." Before he could really respond or say anything, she skipped to the door. "Thanks for everything Ambrose, keep in touch!"((Wrapped!)) Ambrose Maurlias Ambrose's eyes softened at her determined cheerfulness, and her support. She was a good kid. Too bad that she had to be stuck here with the rest of them... but a part of him was glad that at least the people here were good company. Not convicts or other unscrupulous and unfriendly individuals. He hugged her back and waved her off. "Take care, Amaya. And same to you" He called after her as she left.

Manipulative MongooseAmaya Vaughan Well, after all that talkng with Ambrose she was getting kind of hungry. Her headphones were on as soon as she had made her exit and her song was resumed as she made her way to the cafeteria.
"Paper or plastic, don't really care She said, "Hey! Don't touch me there!" I have a thing to share I'm not wearing any under- Wheeeeeeeere the heck's my flying cars in The year 2000, it's been Two billion seconds since Go Bill Clinton
Please don't take me seriously Don't talk so furiously It must be, can't you see When kiwi birds feed off of- Meeeeeeeeeaning of Life comes with wisdom In sanitariums It's Chaos and Pan- -demonium!"
If someone was inside the cafeteria she didn't notice, since she continued to sing and skip into the line. Grabbing an apple and a bowl of salad she went to sit down, humming the tune all the way. Lauren Granger Lauren was starving... so pretty much things were normal. With all the constant studying Moreau had her doing, she didn't have time to eat her meals elsewhere other than the lab and her room. That and for some reason she had felt the need to introvert. Time to take a break for once! Lauren thought to herself as she asked daddy moreaubucks for the day off. He actually gave her it too! Now for some lunch before she went off to the beach for the rest of the day. Life was good. The cafeteria was bare all except for Amaya. Lauren wondered why Amaya had never called her for lunch at all. Actually, Lauren was a little pissed off Amaya hadn't called her at all. But she held that anger back and went to the line, grabbing tons of food as she sneakily caught up to the girl oblivious to all but the music held to her ears. "HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Lauren yelled loudly trying to sound chipper in the shouting sort of way. She smiled as the cafeteria workers looked at her like she was possesed. Amaya Vaughan "SONOFA-" Amaya practically choked on the bite of apple she had took and turned around to face Thorn with huge, startled eyes. After seeing who it was, she reached back into her backpack and turned off her CD player then turned around to take another bite of her apple. She spoke around her bites, having never been told that talking around your food was bad manners.
"Hey Thorn. Sorry about not getting ahold of you... after I found out what's really going on here I was kinda mad at you for lieing to me." She stated honestly and not wanting to beat around the bush. For the most part her anger had subsided and all she wanted now was to know WHY she would lie through her teeth like that. Lauren Granger Lauren was kind of shocked. She lied to someone? She tried to remember and then finally it came to her. Yeah, she did! Ah ok. "Your weird about that huh?" She looked kind of perplexed and smiled mischeviously. This was a different Lauren than the one she presented to Amaya. "Ah come on, was just a little lie. Besides the doc told me too." Thorn grabbed a block of cheese and began munching on that. Amaya Vaughan "Little lie my rear." She took a rather large bite out of her apple. "I thought I was here for something totally different and you lied through your teeth. Then I met up with people with feathers and stuff and got the entire low-down." Amaya swallowed what was in her mouth and pushed her headphones down to hang on her neck. "Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you picked me instead of someone else since I've got nothing to loose... but you didn't have to lie to me. Regardless if I believed you in the first place or not. Once you sign the papers at the orphanage I'm his property anyway." Her gloved hands spun the apple around in her palms. Lauren Granger Lauren set down the yellow brick of cheese as she defensively crossed her arms across her chest. "And I thought you would be different!" Her brown eyes stared right through Amaya as she looked down upon her. "I didn't pick ya, I just picked ya up." She leaned back a bit. "Moreau picked ya, thought you would like it here. He is willing to give you whatever you want and now your obsessing about a little lie?" What the ******** did people have against lying anyway?! She never understood most people. Thorn had to lie to survive. It was nothing to her. Lauren Granger Lauren sighed. "yeah, it's done and over with, no big thing..." She was so bad at this... socialising thing. "I geuss... I've got the day off and was going to the beach." Her mind was still on the fact that Amaya had been mad at her, she was obsessing... stop that. "Look, truth is we're on the island now with nothing we can do about it we might as well make the most of things." she looked down at her block of cheese her hair hiding her face. "Didn't mean to upset ya..." She said quietly as she picked up a few sandwiches. "You probably don't want to deal with me anymore and that's fine." Thorn gave a pathetic look towards Amaya's green eyes. " But if you want to hang out, I see we both have full trays and some spare time." Amaya Vaughan "That's good, least he's not working you dry." She polished off her apple and set the core to the side, picking her fork up to toss her salad a little bit. The fact that she was going to try her danmedest to help the others off the Island probably wouldn't sit well with Lauren, so she kept that to herself. No use in making enemies. Amaya stopped to look at the lanky girl in mid-bite, surprised by the look and tone of her voice. "It's alright and I don't mind. I like the company." She smiled up at her, being honest. It didn't matter what kind of company Thorn was, it was the fact that she wasn't alone. Lauren Granger She smiled at Amaya loosening up. Maybe she would get her after all. Lauren had her hopes. Lauren went over to a nearby table and sat down as she started devouring her 4 sandwiches. She had a huge appetite and an even larger metabolism. She waited for Amaya to sit down before she began talking. "You take what company you can get don't ya? Sorry I'm not much but I'll try" She was honest about that at least, she did try. It was hard for her to deal with people most of the time. The scars on her arms weren't the only ones she had. Amaya Vaughan Amaya followed her and took a seat across the table. "Pretty much, to be honest. I dislike being alone, especially for long periods of time. Makes me remember that I'm all alone in the world, y'know?" She took a stab of her salad and ate it. Get off the topic of being alone, neither of you want to talk about it. "So anyway, do you know what your turning into?" Taking her own advice, she changed subjects again. Lauren Granger Lauren said a simple yeah to Amaya's statement. She actually LIKED being alone most of the time, it was only occasionally that she missed the one person that ever meant anything to her. "Myellow Mongoosh" Thorn said with her mouth full. She chewed a bit. "Don't know why I havn't changed yet, the doc must want to see how long you can take with the initial shot or somethin'? I don't know... maybe I'm like resistant to change or somethin'?" She sat and thought a bit. "Do you know?" Amaya Vaughan "Yellow... oh, yellow mongoose? That's kinda cool." She took another stab out of her salad and thought. "Isn't that kinda risky though? I've been told you might get cancer if the transformation or whatever is left as it is." Green eyes looked up worriedly, but she shook her head to Thorn's question. "Nope. All I know is that I might be becoming some kind of herbivore or something." Her fork pointed to the salad, which she normally wouldn't even touch. "I've been too much of a chicken to ask." Lauren Granger Thorn snorted a bit, "I geuss, they should help me with my social skills... that's what the doc said at least. But luckily, I've not started eating insects... yet" She laughed. "Would of made things easier a few months ago if I could." Thorn nodded, "Yeap, you stop and your cells will be in an unstable mutation phase, which is basically cancer. Your cells already have potential to mutate but the other cells don't follow, the body starts fighting itself and then you have a small microscopic war rumbeling inside of you." She animated this with her hands for added effect. "That's basically what would happen here, he's already started the process and some cells are preped to start mutating. The killer comes when they can't ALL mutate." God... she sounded like such a science geek all of a sudden, "Ah, sorry, didn't mean to get all lectury on you." The yummy goodness of cheese shut her up. Thorn wondered if she SHOULD tell Amaya what she was going to become. But for now, she would play dumb about things. Amaya Vaughan Amaya watched and listened as Thorn explained, the lettuce in her mouth remaining unchewed. She finally swallowed it and moved the contents of her salad around with her fork. "Wow. Guess he tells you all this stuff while he teaches you." The thought that Thorn might know what she was turning into didn't cross her mind, so she didn't ask. That along with the fact that she was kind of afraid to know. Lauren Granger One last sandwhich!!! Thorn eyed the thing with a full stomach trying to decide whether to eat it or not. She decided to save it, an hour later and she would just be hungry again. "Yeah, kind of know tons of stuff, even get to see them transform!" Maybe she shouldn't be revealing all of this but ah well, it was nice to tell someone. "You can too you know, I bet the doc would teach ya as well!" She looked up hopeful towards Amaya, wondering if she would have a study buddy. Amaya Vaughan "That's creepy!" The young girl blurted out, not thinking to stop herself. She then winced and took a bite from her salad. "Sorry." She was about to say no right away to Thorn but stopped herself this time. If she could get close to the doctor then maybe she could find out some flaw with his security and help the others off the Island. Then again, that was a lot for her to handle and she wasn't sure she could ever accomplish such a thing... Doctor Moreau scared the s**t out of her too and gave her a bad vibe. But... this might be her only chance. "I dunno, I'll havta think about it. I never did get to finish highschool back home since all this and it might be something to do." GOD she hated lieing. Lauren Granger Thorn raised an eyebrow, "You just said that was creepy... and now your telling me you'll think about it?" That was a full out blow to keep an eye on this one. She wondered what Amaya's intentions were if she did decide to study. "I don't know, guess I see things differently. I like to watch the change... I don't know why." Ok, that was a lie she did know why, but some goody goody like Amaya wouldn't know that Thorn liked to see people suffer like she has. She didn't know that Thorn liked to see their transformation from their nice normal lives to some sort of caged animal freak. She smiled mischeviously leaning closer to Amaya. "Do you WANT to know what your going to become?" She asked in a near whisper. This conversation was turning into a game of cat and mouse. Amaya Vaughan "Well yeah." Amaya blinked, looking rather convincing. The thing she hated is that she was pretty good at lieing... she just didn't like to. "I mean, it's not like he'll MAKE me watch it... will he? Their are other sciences I'd like to learn and it's not like I wanna be the only one here without a highschool education. Or even a tutor would be nice." She shrugged and finished off her salad, choosing not to comment on Thorn actually liking the whole process since it was... well, creepy as hell. Green eyes looked up at the blonde. She knew what this was turning into, kids had done it at school to her a lot. "Not really. I think I'm too scared to know." Lauren Granger Thorn set back in her chair, her lanky arm drapped across the back. She put her feet up on the table, right next to the nearly devored tray left with a lonely sandwich. "Well, I don't know... I think he only wants those who can stomach things like that." She stared at her... still a little suspicious. This one was hard to read but still something was not right. Lauren was good at reading lies... but not so great with those who were awesome at lyeing. "But I can ask for ya if you want." She started chewing her nails, an aweful habit. Amaya's answer to Thorn's question startled her, "Ya don't want to know because you're scared?" That was kind of pathetic. And Moreau had thought Amaya worthy enough to be a intern at one point. He must of not read her right. It was really freaking scarey yeah but you didn't just turn around and admit it to everyone! But then a little bit of the old Lauren came out and felt sorry for Amaya. She had a hard time already, she didn't need to transform to feel Thorn's pain.... or did she? "Well, no reason to be scared, it's already done." She was trying to be comforting but failing miserably. She sat up and patted Amaya on the back. She remembered that Moreau had asked her to treat Amaya like a sister. Thorn wondered if this new information about the girl made this request known and void. Amaya Vaughan "Alright, thanks. To be honest I don't really know if I can stomach it or not. I mean, I can watch all those horror movies where people are being hung by their intestines and stuff but this is probably way different since it's... well, actually real." She shrugged her shoulders, now being perfectly honest even if it was backing up a lie.
A smile crept up on her face as Thorn patted her on the back. "I know and your right but... I dunno." Amaya rested her chin on her palm and her elbow on the table. "I guess because I don't know exactly what'll happen? That I'm not good with pain tolerance? That I'm a big chicken s**t and my mind can't wrap around what exactly is going on here yet?" Mentally she allowed herself to let that curse go. It fit her perfectly anyway. Green gaze then went up to Thorn. "If I knew do you think it might not be that bad? Or would it just make it worse?" Obviously the blonde knew SOMETHING and hopefully would give her hints if it was a bad animal or not. Lauren Granger Thorn shrugged, "Ah it's your choice, but it's not like anyone is strung up by their intestines here, they just change. And if pain killers are wanted, Moreau will gladly deal them out." She almost made him seem like a leader of the mafia the way she talked about Moreau. Of course I am right Thorn thought as she smiled. "Like I said, we can hook you up with some pain killers, it's going to happen anyway. I'm not going to take them though, too stubourn and I don't like anything that will cloud up my mind, you know?" Hopefully Amaya knew what she meant there, Thorn hated drugs of all kinds. "And yeah, you're kind of being a big chicken s**t right now." Hey, the girl dug the honesty thing... Lauren knew that. "Well, I don't know you that well personally I think your animal rocks! You got lucky." Lauren was fond of reptiles, and who couldn't fall in love with a green iquana instantly? Amaya Vaughan "Yeah, I agree. I never did like taking any kind of medication for anything. Let your body handle it by itself like it was programed to." Amaya laughed at being called a chicken s**t, but wasn't offended at all. "Well, I guess your right..." Taking a deep breath, she pulled her knees up onto the chair and hugged them, looking up at Lauren. "So... what am I going to turn into?" Lauren Granger Thorn's smile grew wicked and twisted as she opened her mouth but stoped herself. "Hmm... well you really wanna know?" The information dangled in front of Amaya. "Don't know if I can tell you straight up though, might get in trouble...." She looked up hopeing Amaya knew the familiar game she was playing. "But, I suppose I could be persuaded..." She smiled as she looked at Amaya's cd player. It wasn't her stolen iPod... the one that she packed up as she ran away, but it was something. Amaya Vaughan For the love of-... Amaya's buttons were being pushed, something she really hated. Piercing green eyes narrowed and she frowned, looking the most angered she had been ever since she came to the Island. Give up her CD player just for something she would find out eventually? "Hell no." Lauren Granger Lauren couldn't help it... the way Amaya's cute button nose wrinkled up... it was just soooo adorable!!! She cracked up laughing, holding her hand to her mouth and nearly falling to the floor. "Alright," She said after laughing. "I best leave then.. thanks!" She was happy, this was so much fun. She would have to play this better next time though or else Amaya would avoid her completely. Then she would never see her mad again. She got up grabbing the sandwich, "See ya round." She turned but then decided to say what was on her mind. "Bye the way, you're cute when your angry." And then she left, hopeing that would make Amaya boil more. Amaya Vaughan Amaya heaved out a sigh as her shoulders slumped. GOD that girl. She'd have to make a visit to Hargun once it got darker to try and up her mood. It didn't phase her that she had been called cute even though she was angry, that was nothing new to her. What pissed her off was the fact that she LAUGHED. She started to growl but stopped herself, settling to put her headphones back on and buss her tray, resuming her song rather unenthusiastically as she headed out.
"La la-la-lala la! la! la la-lala la! la! la la-lala la la la la la! Everyone's so bloody crazy It's so purple hazy Daisies in my gaze Me amazed peeps are so darn- Laaaaaaaazyboy just loves the booty Well I just think that's fruity You rudy-poo, don't like it Then just sue me"

VentingAmaya walked into her duplex and refrained from slamming the door behind her. Calm down... calm down... nothing big happened, she was just being... Thorn-ish or something. Letting out a sigh and threw her backpack onto her bed and immediately walked over to her diary to start writing.Quote: Dear Bob,
Today I finally got around to meeting Ambrose for some answers. He filled me in that we get a few more shots, which what makes us progress into animals... though supposedly we keep our intelligence and hands which is good. If I can't hold a pencil after all this I'll scream. He told me that there are cameras and microphones all over the Island too, which doesn't help. Even in our ROOMS. Eugh... I'm just going to hope that the bathroom is void of cameras and do almost everything in there. I mentioned how pretty his girlfriend was too, and made him sad... Open mouth, insert foot. Note to self: give him more hugs.
After all that I winded up bumping into Lauren/ Thorn in the cafeteria. I'm still craving salads... Anyway, I confronted her about lying but I'm past that. Now I dislike her for something else. Ironic. We were talking a lot about what's going on and stuff and it ended up me asking her what I'm turning into, in which she wanted me to give her my CD player just to tell me. FOR ******** SAKE. I pretty much blew her off and she laughed and left.
My current thoughts of her: AUGHAFRGLEBALGAHSHIT.
Yeah, that sums it up I think.
PS. Ambrose is now officially my older brother.
PPS. Hit Thorn with a sock and run, next time I see her.

Wanderlust & Chit-ChatIan Campbell Ian found himself wandering through the dense jungle on the island. It was so peaceful here and it reminded him of his old home. Feeling a twinge of homesickness at the thought of his old forest, he purposely cast his mind away from that thought. Pressing his hand against the bark of a tree thoughtfully, he inhaled the fresh scent of the forest, closing his eyes to the world sorrounding him. Amaya Vaughan A soft humming came from a few feet away, slowly turned into soft spoken singing.
"And I'm haaaaunted, by the lives that I have loved, and actions that I've hated... I'm haaaaaunted By the lives that wove the web, inside my haunted head..."
Amaya sat leaned up against one of the many trees, bobbing her head to the music blaring in her headphones and tapping her feet to the rythme. She seemed oblivious to everything around her, tiny frame curled up and chin resting on her knee. Ian Campbell Ian moved away from the tree and continued into the forest. Shortly thereafter he heard the sound of muffled singing. Approaching the noise he saw Amay resting by a tree. Approaching her his boots were muffled on the soft turf of the forest floor. "Amaya," he said his voice soft tapping her on the shoulder gently. Amaya Vaughan "YAUGHA!" Amaya jumped, spinning around with wide green eyes behind her glasses. "Ian!" Breathing a sigh of relife, she reached back into her bookbag and turned off her CD player before pushing her headphones around her neck. "Hey, sorry about that. Was zoned out." She stood and smiled up at him. "So how're you doin'?" Ian Campbell Ian gave a small smile. "I didn't mean to frighten you. I was just wandering around when I heard you singing." He touched the bark of the tree. "It's so peaceful here.." His voice had a faraway cast to it, almsot as if he was becoming a part of himself lost years ago. "Just you and the natural elements of nature." He seemed to forget that Amaya was there for a minute, resting his palm against the roughness of the tree. "Did you ever have a place you could truly feel relaxed in Amaya?" he asked finally remembering her presence. Amaya Vaughan "It's alright, I'm just jumpy." She watched him, looking up at the canopy of trees. "Yeah... Dad owned a cabin up in the mountains and he took me there a few times. It was nice to get even farther away from civilization where you had to be inside by dark and could watch the bear, deer, and coyote outback at night. We had a feeder too and I always loved watching the bear come and lick honey and peanut butter off of it." A sad smile spread across her features, the thought of never going there again weighing heavily on her shoulders. Ian Campbell Ian nodded, he understood that. "I used to live right by a forest. The forest was part ofour property. When I was 11 we moved away to the city though, my older brother Marcus had been killed in those woods and my mother didn't want to live with the memories." he sighed. "Those woods were my true home. But I now feel comfortable in any type of foresty area, that happens when one has lived in the city for 9 years." He shifted uncomfortably. "What will happen to these woods if they need to add more duplexes? If we are stuck here, there could be countless other people who will be as well. Amaya Vaughan Amaya visably winced. Living in the city for nine years? That was tourture, though she could understand if his mother wanted to move away. It would be even worse if what Ian said came true too. "I doubt they'd do that, but it's possible. They've gotta have something for us to explore and hang out in that isn't man-made... Otherwise I'd go insane." Ian Campbell He nodded again. "We could always do like what happens in movies. You know stand her with signs and try to single-handedly save the jungle." Ian was trying to make light of the situation, but inwardly he was hoping there would never be enough people to warrant the destruction of the forest. "Many man-made things bother me. I guess that's why I always liked the Druids, they incorperated themselves into nature, not destroying nature selfishly." He smiled, thinking about the druids seemed to make him really happy now. Amaya Vaughan The young girl laughed slightly. "Yeah, chain ourselves to the trees and make picket signs." She listened to him quietly, hands locking behind her head. "Yeah, I think some people are stupid. Like how the forests are being clear-cut just for more homes. People don't know when to stop." Ian Campbell "People are stupid I agree." Ian shuddered as a memory came up unbidden. "Do you want to explore the rest of the forest with me? You seem to apreciate the finer aspect of what's around us." He moved away from the tree and looked into the deeper shade of the trees. "There are so many things that could be here, yet to be discovered." Amaya Vaughan Amaya grinned and nodded, following Ian. "Of course! I was exploring earlier, but stopped to rest and listen to some music." It was nice to meet someone who cared so deeply about nature and respected it like she did. Ian Campbell Ian led Amaya deeper into the jungle until they reached what seemed to be the center of it. "Listen," Ian said into the silence. "This is near the center of the jungle. According to myth, the creatres passed secrets through the center of the forest. "Maybe if we listen we can hear some of those secrets." There was an odd glint in Ian's green eyes as he stared out into the jungle seeming to be listening intently. Amaya Vaughan Stopping behind Ian, she listened in silence. The animals of the carribean called out to each other in their own native tounges, chatting about gossip and the goings on in the jungle. It was peaceful here... so peaceful Amaya could probably just fall asleep listening to them chatter. Ian Campbell Ian also listened, quieting his breathing so it couldn't be heard amongst the noises of the animals. It was so calming listening to the sounds that were so natural and untouched by the influence of man. Sitting against a trunk of a tree Ian closed his eyes to better enjoy the influence of the fresh air. Amaya Vaughan Instead of finding something to sit on, Amaya simply flung herself back and landed with a thud in the lush grass. Sprawling on her back, she stared up at the canopy before closing her eyes to listen.
Though after awhile, she broke the silence in almost a whisper. "Do you know what your turning into yet?" Ian Campbell Ian shook his head, the realized that with his eyes closed he didn't know if Amaya was looking at him or not. "No, not yet. I've been wondering but am actually rather afraid to find out. I'll probably ask after I change a little bit like some of the others." Ian shuddered a bit at that. "Do you know what you're going to be?" Amaya Vaughan "Same here..." Amaya's words were soft and drawn out, like she was only partially there. "Lauren knows, but she won't tell me even when I got the courage to ask her. She wanted me to fork over my CD player just to find out." Her brow furrowed even though her eyes were closed, blocking green orbs from sunlight. Ian Campbell "Lauren..." Ian frowned trying to remember how he knew that name...Oh yeah! "I met her, she and Moreau met me at the helipad....she drove the jeep." A bit of fear had crept into his voice. "I never again want to be in a vehicle she is driving...then Moreau let her give me the injection....She is rather creepy...And she tried to get your CD player? I'm sure some of the other lab techs will tell you for free." Amaya Vaughan "Yeah, I know..." Amaya glared up at nothing, using an arm to shield her eyes. "She seemed so nice when I arrived here, then I met up with her again and she's a totally different person. I dunno what to think." Ian Campbell Ian sighed inwardly "When I first got here I was a completely different person too...this island changes people. Perhaps for the worst, but for me...I'm not sure if it's better or not." Ian opened his eyes to stare into the jungle. "I've noticed the other people I've met changing as well - and not just physically." Amaya Vaughan "Really? How?" The young girl pushed herself to a sitting position, looking up at him. She didn't know anyone before the Island or really notice changes since she was only here for about two weeks. Ian Campbell Ian looked to the side and shifted uncomfortably. "I was....very.....antisocial I guess. Didn't really talk to anyone. I preferred to keep to myself. Now I find it easier just to talk to the people here..and hope I don't scare them. I've scared three or four of the people I've met." Emerwyn Emerwyn felt sick. Her thoughts were positively swimming with all the things Greer had told her the day before. Visions of her horrible dream flashed before her face, seeming as tangible as the trees that she now walked through. This forest was gorgeous. She hadn't been around this many trees since before she moved into the city... She only did beacause of her job... She loved the trees. They were the perfect example of how something as small as a simple thought can evolve into something large, grand, full of life. And they supplied so much life. And were so beautiful. She must have been walking for a couple of hours when she heard voices off to the right. She drifted in their direction, ever so slightly, not wanting to intrude. Amaya Vaughan "Well your certainly getting better." She smiled up at him, legs curling to her chest and gloved hands wrapping around them. "How can you scare people off? You don't seem scary to me." Large green eyes looked up at him, oblivious to the woman approaching from behind. Ian Campbell Ian rubbed a palm on the back of his neck in a nervous gesture. "I think they were caught off guard when I talked to myself sometimes. Not everybody is comfortable with that." He spied movement coming from behind Amaya. "Feel free to come out and join us," he called being unable to identify who it was at the current moment. Emerwyn Emerwyn jumped slightly, at the raised voice, directed at her. Slowly, tentatively, she walked forward. The man she was now facing looked familiar. Indeed, he was the young man she'd only barely met in the cafeteria. She was glad. She wanted to reconcile with him. The other was a young woman she had never seen before. Of course, she'd barely met anyone here... "Hello," Emerwyn was surprised at how shy she felt. She also become suddenly aware of her new clothes that Moreau had gotten made for her. They were less conservative than she would have liked. She closed her coat around herself a little tighter. "I never got to introduce myself," she addressed first the young man, then both of them. "I'm Emerwyn. I'm... new here." Amaya Vaughan "What's so wrong with talking to yourself? I do it too." Amaya raised a brow, not understanding. Her attention was soon diverted though once Ian pointed out that someone was behind her. She turned her head around, looking over at the woman. "Hello! It's nice to meet you Emerwyn." A genuine smile spread across her young features. "My names Amaya." It seemed like she might have bumped into Ian once before and she was new... poor lady was probably scared. Ian Campbell "Emerwyn...so that's your name." Ian smiled at her. "I'm Ian. I apologize for the incident in the cafeteria." His smile faded to a frown. "I was just rather nervous, and thought I had scared the poor long haired girl and was afraid I would scare you as well. Again, my apologies." He looked again to Amaya. "You talk to yourself as well?" he was slightly surprised, AMaya didn't seem the type to talk to herself. Emerwyn Talking to themselves? Emerwyn felt more embarassed. She must have walked in on a deep conversation. Ian didn't seem to mind too much. "Ian. It's a pleasure. And Amaya. That's alright, about the cafeteria. Colche's probably fine... I had only just met her that day... It was my first day here... and it was before I knew..." Amaya Vaughan Amaya nodded, grinning like it was something to be proud of. Her expression then faultered and changed at the sadness in the woman's voice and she physically withdrew a bit. She opened her mouth to say something but couldn't think of any words of comfort to Emerwyn and promptly shut her trap, messing with her raven locks. ((Due to my INSANE PMS I had to drop from the RP. I rounded it off that Amaya went back to her duplex and slept... lets hope some sleep keeps me from flying off the handle.))
