Olie was a little surprised by her question, and hesitant to answer. "Yes, when necessary." He took the bow from her and showed her how to place the arrow. Then he handed it back to her. "Try to pull the string back now, while keeping the arrow in place like this."

Ginga was in aww, Oli really was like Robin Hood. Her grin grew even bigger as she struggled to pull the bow string back.l

"You can do it!" he encouraged. He took a step back. "Aim. Take in a deep breath and hold it until you've released the string."

"Can I aim at anything?" Ginga pulled the string all the way back, the muscles in her small arms straining under the pull of the string.

Oliver looked scanned the area, making sure there were no Namrah or animals wandering nearby. "Sure, just not at me," he laughed. "And don't hurt yourself."

"I won't." Ginga looked over the area, trying to decide what to aim at. Her gaze came to rest on an apple in a tree. Maybe she could shoot one down like Oliver did. She took aim and fired.
The arrow went to high, and lodged itself in a tree branch.

Oliver watched the arrow fly. "That was great! Now, what were you aiming for?" He started toward the tree she had hit to retrieve the arrow.

Ginga pouts cutely because she missed her target. "An apple."

Oliver laughed. "Don't worry. At least you hit the right tree. Most Namrah couldn't get anywhere close to that." He carefully pulled the arrow out and came back to sit by Ginga. "Care to try again?"

Ginga's pout turned into a smile filled with pride at Oli's words. "I want to let my arm rest first."
Holds out the bow. "You want to shoot again?"

Oli grinned. "Of course." He took the bow and put the arrow in place. He pulled back the sting with seemingly no effort, and held it there. "What's my target now?"

Ginga scanned the trees for something that Oli could shoot. She wanted to pick something challenging, or at least something she thought would be challenging. An apple hanging from a branch high up caught her eye. She pointed at it. "That!"

"The apple?" he questioned. He pointed the bow toward the apple she pointed to high in a tree. He closed one eye, then opened it. "You think I should make apple sauce out of it?" he laughed.

Oli nodded. Then he let the arrow fly. It shot with an upward curve, hitting its mark from the bottom. The arrow hit right at its core, so when it hit the tree behind, it splattered the apple. "Apple sauce," he said with a grinn as he leaned against his bow.
