"Nice boots," Gerald countered as he entered the gazebo. Her uniform made the new shoes stand out even more, if that were possible. It was an odd incongruity in her personality that Verdi should seem so quiet and retiring and yet dress so outrageously. Of course, among young people her garb wasn't that extreme... but adults would view it otherwise. Yet another thing he'd have to figure out in order to learn how to handle her. "Where to?" he asked, holding out his copy of the campus map so she could read it if she wanted. He didn't really care where they went first, so long as he got to see a bit of the school and, perhaps, meet more of the students.

Fern watched as they complimented each other, and couldn't help but let out a giggle from her hideaway. Were they courting each other? A boy human and a girl human, well... they could just be friends. But the idea of love sent Fern into such a daydream. So much of one, in fact, that she didn't notice the rather large, hairy spider that was coming towards her until it was practically on top of her.
The fae let out such a high-pitched scream that it sounded more like a kettle whistling than anyone in distress.
Down from the rafter she rolled, catching herself in mid air with a quick flutter of wings.
"You great bully!" She screamed at the insect, shaking her fist. Fern had settled on hovering almost at eye-level of the two humans. She thought it wasn't strange at all, her being there, or even existing. "If I wasn't a respecter of the natural, you'd be knocked down a notch on the food chain and see how you like it!"

Giggling? Verdi looked up just in time to see the fae let out her scream and throw a fit at the spider. Though she had never seen a fae in her life, somehow the girl didn't supprise her beyond the inital supprise of her entrance. "Ah!" Another duck and cover, followed by slowly standing up. There was no blushing this time due to the fact that Gerald was sure to have seen this girl as well.
"Oh, umm...hello there." Another shake to get the hair out of her eyes. "I'm, um, Veridi. You are?" Weird situation, normal convorsation. Such things had worked in the past dealing with spirits, why not with this new creature unknown to the spirit-seer? A quick glance at the boy she had just met up with. Another strange occurance for the day. How well would this poor boy hold up?

The blond blinked a bit, map in hand; she had changed into her Keystone uniform and tied up her hair and now stood staring out at the other students. MaryAnne tipped her head slightly, observing them and staying in place; she didn't know if she wanted to approach them - the boy in the inn had seemed a little cold and she was always terribly nervous around others.
Nibbling a lip, she clasped the map to her chest, mentally debating.

As an immediate reaction, Gerald grunted and raised a hand to swat the fluttering, noisy thing away. When the glowing thing started talking, he froze and stared. It was a person? A tiny, little person... with wings? He could only blink at it for a moment. Having his reality shifted twice in one day really wasn't going so well. Verdi started talking i-- her, and Gerald quickly lowered his still-hovering hand. Cool. Calm. Collected. Right. He blinked again, just to make sure he was actually seeing what he was seeing. Yep. A tiny, glowing girl with wings. Gerald seriously started to consider the theory that he had gone mad and was making this entire day up.

Her blue eyes focused on the little glowing light between the two students and she tipped her head curiously. "What could that be...?" MaryAnne muttered to herself under her breath.

Sebastian didn't bother hiding his wings on his way through campus this time. He'd been seeing more and more Keystone students wearing their uniforms and their special attributes at the same time. He wondered vaguely if Evangeline would do the same thing, but decided that wings were seldom considered a fashion statement.
While he was walking through one of the many quite spaces he came upon a young keystone female watching two others in their conversation. He snuck quietly up behind her and spoke in a low voice right behind her. "You should join them instead of watching from the shadows."

Fern looked first from Verdi to the boy, who suddenly had his hand raised.
With another cry, she bolted away to the side of the gazebo where she became a regular-sized girl, though her eyes were wide with the past fright. Now that she was larger, her voice could be more clearly heard. It had a bit of an Irish lilt to it, and sounded spirited no mater what the words.
"What, were you going to swat me like a fly!?" she said to the boy, brushing her dress off, even though there was no dust there. "You're a bit hasty, now, aren't you? For the love of all things!" Obviously chaos could break loose in seconds around these parts.

Oh no, this was going downhill really fast. "He's sorry!" The words came out in a desperate rush and she shot a glance at the boy who needed to be apologizing quickly right about now. The green-haired student couldn't believe that he had been about to swat this new girl, bug-size or not.
This was definitely her element. Things were odd and out of control. Of course if things got much more out of control Verdi would most likely resort to frustrated shouting. At least the girl had turned normal size.

"Kyaaah!" The blond screamed and tumbled forward, tripping over her own feet in the process and falling. She rolled onto her back to look up at the boy who'd approached from behind. MaryAnne panted with fright, blue eyes wide, hair and uniform slightly askew from her tumble.
"Whaa...?! Whaa?! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO SOMEONE?! IT'S RATHER CRUEL, YOU KNOW! You could have been-! You could have been--! OH GOD! RAPIST!" MaryAnne scrambled away, a bit, slipping almost and knocking her head lightly on the concrete. She'd clearly over reacted, but God only knew what this boy could have been.

Fern forgot everything as she heard a girl sound far more distressed than she was. With light feet and fluttering, large, insect-like wings, she jumped over the railing to go to the girl who was strewn upon the ground.
"Now now, you silly, pretty little thing!" she said, grabbing hold of one of the girl's hands. "Calm yourself down! You're worse than a crying fledgling!" Fern looked over to Sebastian, who she thought rather handsome, and cocked her head in question. Surely he hadn't been harming her?

"He--! He!" She panted, shaking slightly, looking from the other girl to the boy and back, then to the pair of students at the gazebo.
"Ida... Er... Aaah! I'm sorry! I just! He! I mean! Startled...! Gaah!" MaryAnne fussed over the scene she hadn't meant to make - it'd been an impluse reaction. He'd truely scared her.

Sebastian sighed and strolled forward, one hand outstretched to MaryAnne's head. "Allow me..." he said before placing his palm on her forehead. There was a gentle green blue light and whatever damage she'd suffered from her fall was minimized. He clicked his tongue at being unable to heal her completely, but being on this side of the gateway was not good for his strength.
He looked around at all of the assembled students. It was the largest gathering he'd seen in some time. "Forgive me for intruding. I was simply passing through."

Verdi ran after the fae up to the girl, giving Gerald no choice but to come along as she dragged him by his hand. There was no way he was missing out on this.
"What happened?" First the question was directed at the shaking blonde, but that didn't seem like it would go anywhere so she looked pointedly at the man with black wings. Another person who she was unsure of, but at least for him she had a guess: a fallen angel. Thanks to reading all the documents she could get her hands on and a few helpful spirits this was along the right track for once.

She blinked as he touched her head then tipped it in confusion as the pain disappeared.
"Eh... How'd...? Did you...? Are you...?" She gazed up at the boy she didn't know, narrowing her eyes at him slightly.
"You're a...?! Erm... Y-you shouldn't sneak up on girls, you know... It is rather rude." MaryAnne placed a hand against her chest and muttered, "Gave me an aweful start..."
