I was thinking magical. Invaluable to people who want something powerful, but something dangerous and corrupting. It's more like "It'll do what the user wants, but at a price."

Well it'll give you whatever you want. Think like a genie, but with a curse. Holding the orb will give you visions and notions that you can have whatever you want and merely being in the presence will give you a strange desire to hold it. The plan was for it in order to grant wishes it'll slowly suck the life out of you. How that effects you is up to you. Also just holding it doesn't do anything, you have to want something, and it can be anything. The greater the effect the more toll it'll take on the character. For little things your character might not feel anything, but little things over a long time add up. For something bigger, your character might suddenly be really tired or pass out completely. Also, the more your character uses it, the more he/she wants to use it, however to more it's used the weaker you'll get and eventually it'll lead to death. With the three of you guys in there, that's where a betrayal and trust elements comes in but that is for you guys to figure out on your own.
You guys are absolutely free to run with this in any direction you want to. Let your creativity go. If you need direction that's what I'm here for, but I want you guys to feel free to do whatever you want, too. Fight over it, make some drama, make it fun.

Just posting to say that I have no energy to reply to the RP right now. I started classes yesterday and I don't think I've ever been so tired [after classes] in my life. Every professor I had this semester told the classes that expect 2 hours of work outside of class for ever hour of class. 12 hours/week class time x 2 = 24 hours of studying/homework time. 168 hours in a week. Taking out sleeping time leaves 112 hours of realistic usage time. 100 hours when taking out time I'm not in class, 76 hours left when excluding the "study time." That's 10.8 hours a day that I have to do whatever, though realistically it'd already be 8.8 hours since I commute to campus (round trip makes it an hour). This isn't including time it takes me to eat meals (guessing maybe 2.5 hours if I'm not cooking, 3.5-4 if I am), so there we're looking at 5.3 - 6.3 hours of time for myself. And that's if I don't get a job.
Speaking of which, I'm applying to write and proofread (maybe eventually be an editor!) at my university's paper (one of the few places that are even paid on campus). If I get that position, the only time I'll be able to post is the weekend and historically I don't get on gaia over the weekend.
tl;dr version: College is kicking my a** and it's been 2 days. I am going to be really stretched for time. Shallow, feel free to ghost my character to the shop with you and then you can dump me where ever you want. You guys with the thing - if you want to just keep going with it do whatever. Make some "bad guys" (they could be good guys that just don't like you) up to try and steal it back from you or kill you or whatever. The ball is in your court now. I won't be upset at ANYTHING you guys do, so use your imagination.
You can make up your own adventures and just run with it. Even make up stuff outside or steal a ship or something. Have something burn half the city. Or just drop it like it's hot and let it die. YOU GUYS are in control while I'm unable to do anything.
For those who were thinking on applying after THIS TIME AND DATE, sorry, but I'll have to deny you. If you have already applied and gotten my okay you're fine (even though you haven't posted yet).
And this is probably more than any of you ever wanted to know about me.
