"Sounds like a plan to me," Kenji answered. Carrying the fish over to the fire, he spitted them one by one on sticks and then laid them over the burning wood to cook. "Um, almost dinner time," he murmured, not wanting to speak up and interrupt Shigeru and Kue.
The samurai recognized that he was at a bit of an impasse with Kue, so instead of continuing to play her game by prolonging the argument, he simply turned and nodded to Kenji. "Don't keep us waiting," he said dryly, raising an eyebrow at the lad.
