Rojiza shakes her head at her friend's offer. She'd rather figure out a way to communicate directly with the freckled man. She watches him dress his wounds, wishing she could help in some way.

" 'm Zak" he said with a nod finishing up the slats and gauze bandage by tucking the end of the clean cloth in and covering it with his old dirty shirt.
" 'm staying with Ki and her boy" he said turning the potatoes on the rocks and setting out the onion to bake beside them and sitting down on the ground.

"Zak." She repeated as if to see how it sounded in her own voice and then she nodded. "Pleased to meet you." She was a well mannered child, a product of her father's teachings.
"It is good that you have a wagon to stay in even if it is not your own." She said with a light nod glancing at Rojiza to see if she agreed or as if to see if she had said the right thing at all. She was not sure what to say to the freckled man in before them. The little swan was mostly a hermit most days, her socializing skills were failing.

Rojiza nods encouragingly to Annjette. Zak. It's a good name for the compact man. She wonders how Van D'ien is taking to the outsider. The shy boy doesn't take well to friends, let alone new people. Ro sits down, arranging her skirt around her with her pad in her lap.

"In?" he chuckled at the the thought and then stopped with a wince "not so much with the in, more like under. that wagon isn't built for two let alone three so I get some blankets and the ground beneath it." he turned the onion which was scorching and wrinkling in its skin in the heat. remembering his manners Zak asked "did you two want a potato? I could grab a couple more"

Annjette blinked at that. "U...Under? Don't you get sick or anything?" It seemed odd but not so odd as to make it seem impossible to the swan-girl. She knew, first hand that wagons were usually small and barely fit anyone in them.
Her stomach gave a small grumble at the mention of food. The small girl blushed a bit and looked to Rojiza and then back at Zak. It seemed rude to say no and it seemed equally rude to just sit and watch him.
"If it wouldn't be too much trouble, Mr. Zak."

Rojiza watches him. Fish? She could get fish. She whistles softly for Finnean, the best fisher of her bunch. She strokes his crest and thinks at him sternly. Fish. Could you catch us a couple fish? And *don't* eat them yourself this time. After you get me two fish I'll let you go catch as many as you want for yourself and the rest of you, alright? She lets him go, hoping dearly he'd return with fish so she could impress Zak. She gets the feeling he thinks she's strange, or at least a nuisance since she can't talk but insists on hanging around.

Annjette watched Zak as he moved about a small furrow to her marked brow. He certainly was an odd individual but she said nothing only wishing she could help. Of course, Annjette could not read the communication between Ro and her Banya so she couldn't say what the other girl was up to.
"Maybe we can get some fish?" She says after him in a helpful way soon as the Banya had left to do that very thing without her being aware of it.

"You got the gear I got the pan. But as it is, what I have is potatoes" said Zak, fishing deeper into the box and returning victoriously with a hand holding two potatoes and the other grasping a sturdy cast iron frying pan.
he put the potatoes in the pot for storage and went back to rummaging for butter and an onion.

After a good ten minutes, Finnean streaks back in a blur of creamy blue and drops a glistening salmon into Rojiza's lap. She squeaks and holds it, still wiggling. She panics a bit, as she's unsure what to do with the squirming, slippery fish. And even worse, what is she going to do when Finnean comes back with the other one?

Annjette stands up moving toward Rojiza to help rescue the poor girl from the wriggling mass of fish upon her lap. "G..Goodness!" She grabbed for the tail and attempted to hold it firmly only to have it slip her grip and fall to the ground with a gasp.
"S..Sorry!"

zak looked over at the comotion saw a fish, FISH ! live fish crap! get a stick get a stick! no stick...get a knife! fish fish fish! he thought fas as lightning and whipping out a sheathed pocketknife.
*Thwack! Thwack* he beat the animal over the head once and again with he hilt of the knife to make sure it was done flopping around. "wow that was a stroke of luck," he said looking up from a fish a bit shorter than his arm with a wicked hooked beak, it was slightly rotted despite being alive only moments before but this was salmon from a stream and to be expected. there were talon arks on it, holes that revealed them selves as he turned the fish over "but how did you get it?" he asked the girls, "this looks like eagle caught or something?" at that another fish fell out of the sky, luckily from a lower elevation, unluckily at an angle that smacked the side of it square into his face. the bird that had dropped the fish alighted on the brown haired girl.
Zak laughed and wiped slime from his face, he coulden't stop, the pain was horrible from all those ribs but oh it was so funny. he cursed and laughed and cursed again.

Rojiza is terribly, terribly pleased with herself and her Banya. She starts to giggle, and then to laugh along with Zak. Finnean takes flight shortly thereafter to catch his own dinner. Ro writes on his pad for Annjette: Ask him if he can use them....they look half-dead already. Finnean probably wasn't too picky.

The small girl was giggling as she watched the scene unfold after her part in it was done. This seemed to be turning into an exercise of hilarity.
Suddenly Ro caught her attention and she read the note before vocalizing what was within it, "Rojiza is wondering if you could perhaps still use the fish even though they were half-dead already?"
