Yeah, I'll admit for some odd reason the guild has been deadly scilent the past couple of days. I'll start kicking up the advertisment heat, and if you could help spread the word with me (this goes for basically any memeber of the guild) that would be great. The first places I would start would be your regular threads and friends. 3nodding

Alright, so the guild...and...nobody. sweatdrop Kinda makes things hard...

xd Well I guess advertising in the guild wouldn't get our word out too much. Otherwise, the GD is a good place as well as the Guild Forum. I'll be getting some help from some friends I know to advertise in the art shop forum. But any of those areas would have the kind of people that would be more inclined to join our guild, especially the GD and forums like it.

Yeah...the guild is the only place I've gone to in the last...since I came back from my hiatus.

Well that's good to some degree. And you don't have anyone outside of the guild that you know who has been on gaia sometime this month? Because friends lists can be a good way to advertise since the people know you.

Eh...none that I'm willing to talk to or that aren't already in the guild.

There's the connections I'm looking for. xd
You really aren't giving me a whole lot to work with here. The only other suggestions I have would be to spam the GD or even the chatterbox if spamming would be a bit more comfortable there. If you feel up to spamming then we have some ideas that would help draw people in and keep it seeming official.

... I don't think there's anything wrong with Harry Potter....

But you guys are absolutely right. Gaia has lost much of its magic now that it's become all commercialized. People aren't interested in an intelligent conversation anymore, nor are they friendly, or even in the slightest bit kind. It's sad to say, but the majority of the users on this site aren't even worth venturing to know, and they couldn't care less about anyone else, which ultimately sucks the fun out of chatting here.

That being said, the amount of people who actually do visit are either only here to spam, cyber some 13-year-old girl in Towns, or flame Noobs who are having a time trying to get adjusted here. I've quitted gaia twice now, and only came back for the sole purpose of updating my avatar. I've had several atlernate accounts just because I was tired of the ridicule I got for trying to be kind in my others. And do you know where it got me? Nowhere.

So, ultimately, I think that the reason this awesome little guild has so little activitiy is because there aren't enough nice people to fill it. Quite honestly, I like close-knit communities because everyone gets to know everyone much better, there isn't all the arguing and flaming of a large one, and its so much easier to have a decent conversation. I don't think there's really anything wrong with with guild as it is, unless this is merely a question of funding, in which case I have no idea what I was talking about.

It's okay, you had it about right. xd

The thing is, when I joined this guild in '05 it was jumping! I mean I could spend hours in here have conversations with many different people and it quickly became my faviorate place to come to on Gaia. Now it is still one of my faviorate places, but it's not nearly as fast paced as it used to be. Don't get me wrong, I love being able to come here and talk with friends that I don't talk to anywhere else, but it's no longer a guild that you can come to and post for hours. That's what we want to do, we want to get the guild going enough so that you can come in and start posting, and by the next time you look at a clock you notice you've already spent 3-4 hours in here and haven't even realized it because it was so much fun! We aren't looking to be the top guild on the guild list, just the most entertaining and fun-for-everyone guild on the guild list! xd

I think we can make this dream come true, we just need all the active members of the guild to be excited about that goal and be willing to put a little time and effort into getting this guild running around with good times and great activity! It doesn't take a lot, just the drive, good attitude, and the ability to find groups of people that would enjoy the same things the guild brings. And if the person advertising for the guild seems excited about the guild and puts their excitement into well worded sentances, then their excitement will either be passed on to the people not in the guild or will hopefully get them curious enough to check us out. 3nodding

I dont think thats the case.. Their are plenty of guilds thriving and doing well.I dont know know what to say...Except keep trying..Something will come..I joined.. I try to write in here at least once a week.. Other people also have lives, looking for work, scared about the economy and how they are going to pay rent, college, put food on the table..Maybe a thread on jobs, how de stress, cooking at low cost..

Oh, I definitely know what real life means. I'm in frickin' Japan.

I personally disagree with most of the arguments in this thread. I don't think the quality of the internet or Gaia is necessarily going down, much less the people in it. I just see an attention shift.

Good news is, despite the attention shift, there are still so many people logged on at any given time that many of them are still in the forums. It's just a question of getting them to come HERE. Which, I suppose, requires people from in here, to post out there with out signature pictures.

No, it's just way too "Get off my lawn, rottin' kids!" to say that Gaia has gone down hill. Gaia has simply gone in a different direction from what we remember. It's incumbent upon us to adapt or to lobby for our desired ends. Gaia has to make money, and they make lots of money. That's what a company is for. It's up to us to do our thing with the free space provided to us.

This thread should probably be deleted.
But I think that the goal I mentioned at the start should still be the guild's goal: 50 users in here at any given time.

That's why I was hesitating on this one, it technically still applies, the guild activity isn't what it should be sweatdrop
