A beautiful song.
It's an expert piece of work from the band--has a heavy metallic mood to it, but it's very mellow and subtle.

Kyo does sound a bit strained at certain points but the song on the whole has a very good sound. The strained tone gives the song a feeling of agony. I love listening to Dir en grey's newer stuff and hearing Kyo progressively learn to control his voice and do beautiful things with it.
Dir en grey have once again succeeded in creating the perfect rock ballad. Now there is one thing left to do - swoon.
*swoons*

Wow ... I have to say I was disappointed as well. If you isolated either the vocals or the music, it was okay. Together, though, it's awful. It sounds like they are both doing different songs. It gave me headache.
I was actually listening to Jealous before I paused it to listen to the new single ... I miss the old days. I think Diru's music has been degrading; nothing they have put out recently can touch the old sounds.

I think the song is beautiful, no matter what. Yes, they're older stuff is way better, but it's better then all that hard metal where Kyo sounded like he was just babbling.
The video could have been better though, I would've liked to see more of them.

Someone asked why I be hatin' on the new single.
There's pretty much only one reason:
It's not anything that we haven't heard from Dir en grey--or a bajillion other bands--over and over and over again.
The musical concepts separately are all repeats, the melody is barely memorable, and the way they put them all together just clashed.
Pretty? Semi-enjoyable? Sure.
Original (which we're used to these guys being)? Exciting? Anything that requires oodles of talent? No.

Maybe I'm just not hard to make happy as far as music goes, or I just don't always pick out every aspect to songs, I dunno.
But I liked it. I can not think of a Diru song that sounds like Glass Skin before, merely little remnants that might make me think of a particular era or something specific. I can agree at least with the melody bit though, as I really tend to just hear the guitars throughout the song, and the drums just as they come in.
