She squealed as his teeth grabbed into the flesh of her neck. She continued to thrash, hooves slicing around the stallion's legs.
Slowly her hooves hit the sand and she bolted straight onto shore, panting and soaked, her entire body trembling. "I t-told you I sink..."

He followed her out, letting the water run off him in torrents. "Did your family even teach you how to swim?" His legs were starting to hurt as well when he noticed the damage she'd done to them. They were bleeding. Slowly, thank the spirits. His human could bandage them if he decided to go to her.

"No..." They'd taught her how to fight. Fighting, to Crousader, was the most important thing. Use your body to protect yourself...just in case.
Swimming wasn't part of the routine.
Her aqua eyes flitted down to the blood on his legs, gashes caused by her own hooves and she looked away. "I'm sorry..."
Her own body hurt from the flailing, her wing bruised where it battered her newfound friend.

"Huh?..." He tilted his head. "Sorry for what?"
Ciardha flopped down on the grass. Content to soak the ground with his runoff. He was trying to ignore his legs really. "When I start teaching you to swim, keep your wings above the water."

The mare blinked down at him. "For hurting you. I kinda...freaked out...a little."
Well, that was a small term for the little flailing episode. With her soaked wings pressed to her sides, she dropped to rest beside him.
"Wings above water? But...how do you swim if you don't splash?"

"Your legs." Cia shrugged. He wasn't going to look at the cuts. "It's fine, Lady Merlei." The pain in his head was beginning to go away. That was a relief. The sharper pains in his legs were dimming away to dull throbbing.

Merl flushed and smiled. Her legs. Of course...
She pressed her muzzle against his wet shoulder. "Okay. And I promise to...try harder next time. Just because."

He turned his head to hers, nuzzling her cheek before lipping at her long mane. Cia liked her alot, even if she had panicked. She was witty, smart, and flirtatious. The kind of mare he got along well with.
The Stallion grinned, flicking his wet tail at her.

Her eyes glittered with adoration at his touch. They'd just met. It was insane. She wasn't sure if he was the type of stallion she could spend the rest of her life with. But hell, she wasn't sure she was the type of MARE who could settle down with one stallion.
His tail whipped across her flank and she pretended to faint, falling to her side with a laugh.

Ciardha snickered at her. "Something wrong, m'lady?" Silver eyes were back to gleaming with good humour and interest.
He shifted into a more comfortable laying postion. "Looks like you need some help there, Merlei."

"Cia!" She leapt to her feet, wings outspread to make herself look bigger as she strode to the front of him. "You know I didn't mean it -that- way!"
