Mel nodded and nosed at her cheek. "I know, I'm sorry. But they'll be prefectly safe, I promise." Kneeling down, he nudged the two baskets carefully onto his back before slowly standing up on all fours again. "It might take a while because I have to go slower so they don't slip but we should be able to make it before dark." He smiled and started walking very slowly towards the forest where she usually stayed, watching his every step carefully. Their children would stay safe within the dark trees, he'd make sure of it.
