edamame beans. They are so yummy. Trader Joe's has a pack of already boiled and peeled ones that is great for snacking. I don't see them at my regular grocery store so I have to go out of my way to get them, but they are worth it. XB

wikipedia says:

Quote:
Fiber-rich foods such as edamame help prevent mood fluctuations by keeping blood-sugar levels steady.[2] Edamame also contains protein, which further helps stabilize blood sugar, and omega-3 fatty acids, which have been shown to combat depression[citation needed].

Edamame beans contain higher levels of abscissic acid, sucrose, protein than other types of soybean. They also contain a high source of vitamin A, vitamin B and calcium.

woot.

here is a pic of them:

I like them without any added salt or sugar.

Hmm, well, I LOVE oranges. They're so good! And I like green peppers with ranch. I don't really know if ranch is bad or not, but as long as I eat in moderation...

I have to agree with edamame as well, except in that I buy mine pre-shelled and de-salted from CostCo. :3

I eat smoothies [some Greek yogurt, which has next to no sugar; fourth can of pineapple chunks; scoop of vanilla Slim Fast; milk or soy milk] that are intensely creamy, munch on salads without dressing [dark greens, carrot bits, cranberries, feta, some nuts] as I hate condiments …

Special K is my addiction, as is green tea, the kind from packets. I make a few gallons at a time and drink it cold, best for one’s metabolism that way. I also make my own low-fat trail mix; generally two handfuls of dried cranberries [craisens!], some macadamias/almonds/walnuts/peanuts, and sun flower or pumpkin seeds.

I used to adore kiwis and mangos, but when my tongue was pierced my sensitivity to their sweetness made consuming them hurt.

I really want to eat some cold cans of pineapples that are in my house, but too many and it burns. Dx

Green tea makes my hunger go away.

A pouch of chunk light tuna with 2tbsp lite miracle whip & 2 tbsp relish & 2 slices white wheat bread = ~250 calories of lunch with amazing protein and not a whole lot of fat.

Veggies in general. Though canned isn't as good for you, I love canned green beans.
Beets, artichokes, lima beans, spinach, cucumbers, etc. <3

Edamame beans are amazingly good.

I am not very fond of raw vegetables. My family simmers various greens & etc. (celery + carrots = must) with a can of chicken broth from 99 Ranch [low in fat/calories but VERY high in sodium...] and herbs. Tastes great. x]

Since I am a bad cook I live off canned corn most of the time.

I love vegetables. I used to hate them as a child, but now I've grown to accept them. XD I particularly like mushrooms and zucchini. The best way for me to eat vegetables is in a homemade soup, a stir fry, or hiding them in my meat loaf. I find the meat loaf works really well because I can take out half of the ground turkey and replace it with finely chopped carrots, mushrooms, zucchini, and bell peppers and it will still taste fantastic.

I replace a lot of my lunches and dinners with salads. There are quite a few salads in my culture that use different vegetables (like beetroot) and they're absolutely yummy.

Here's a really good breakfast: a bit of wholegrain cereal drowned in fresh fruit with a few almonds, some honey and lite soy milk. It's really, really good. Or you can use wholegrain oats (pure, without added stuff) instead of the cereal.

I also replaced my usual snacks (bread and philadelphia or cheese) with dry figs (which are better than they sound).

Most of my calcium now comes from soy milk so there's no need for cheese or any of that stuff. And the sugar comes from honey and fruit. It's a great replacement, I think.

I also used to adore white tea (with vanilla), but I switched over to green (natural or with jasmine).

Popcorn.

I have an air popper so I pop organic popcorn kernels, and spray 0 calorie butter spray on them and a pinch of salt.
