Ah, well at least it worked out ^^ I've been using tampons for six years and I'm not a virgin, so I don't think I'll have any problems that way xd I just hope I can get the placement right so it's not uncomfortable.

That was one reason I ordered the Keeper Mooncup - they have a three-month return policy.

So far I'm liking it quite well. It was a bit uncomfortable at first, but then I beveled the stem which made a huge difference. And it's such a relief not to have a damp wad growing who-knows-what kind of bacteria between my legs! lol

@ Syera : I completely agree! xd I almost peed my pants laughing..

@Pixie: I got that Diva cup too 3nodding I got mine from Vegan Essentials, mainly because I wanted to combine shipping with the other things I was ordering xd It's pretty squishy, thick silicone. I had to trim the stem down to the line closest to the cup (the stem has little lines to grip with) so it would be comfortable, but other than that I've had no problems. It's much better than tampons, and infinitely better than pads xd

If you're "tight" you'll probably be able to feel it for a little while, but it's not painful or anything. I've been using kegels to help position it comfortably.

So what kind of panty liners do you all use? Store bought? Luna pads? Nothing?

I was thinking when ordering my diva cup, that I would also check into the luna panty liners. But I was wondering if anyone else has them and what they thinking about them.

I don't use them; I've never had the cup leak. As long as you wipe thoroughly after it's inserted you shouldn't need panty liners whee

Ha ha...my mom and sister are like "ewww!" about using tampons. "how can you stand sticking something up there?!" I can't WAIT to tell them about when I get the cup.

Anytime I've mentioned menstrual cups in the the lifestyles forum I get the same "ew gross" response. It's just blood and not any gross than having a soaked pad or tampon. Oh noes, blood on my hands!!

@ Miss-Shade

I don't use liners anymore. At first My cup would leak until I figured out how to get it to suction properly. You can find patterns online to make your own pads. There's a community on livejournal that is named diy_pads (i think)

Haha, I haven't even mentioned it to my mom yet xd She just uses/used makeshift tampons out of wadded up toilet paper, so I doubt she'd care about a cup xd I think she's going through menopause anyways.

I think it's extremely nifty to be able to see how much I've bled xd Tampons give a size guide according to how much blood they'll absorb.. I always wondered how the heck I was supposed to know how much I bleed.

Landfill? Who said anything about a landfill? A lot of people flush their hygiene products down the toilet.. Toilet water+chlorine=drinking water. And that's not gross?

Oh, yes. Explaining cups and other reusable menstrual products to the squeamish is great fun. xd

Exactly. There's nothing 'gross' about blood. (Darn squeamish society of ours.)

Which reminds me: I've sometimes wondered how the heck women who can't stand the sight of blood deal with their menses.

Whoo hoo! I just got mine today whee Can't wait to start using it. Can I actually be excited about getting my period? hee hee.

Also, the store I bought it from was a super cool health/organic store that had lots of great products and food. Like Whole Foods, but smaller.
