"Have you ever seen the movie 'Bambi'?" the redheaded girl said to the tiny, pretty girl, squatting down a little so that she could talk to her better. Her metal legs gleamed in the hot sun. "You know Bambi, and Bambi's mom? That's venison."

This was said with probably a bit too much relish.

Nataya blinked, processing the information through her little head before replying to confirm the information. "So...ven-son is cartoon deer?" she asked, being one hundred percent serious as she looked at her elder. After all, that was what Bambi and his mommy were: cartoons. She then noticed the redhead's metal legs, her attention suddenly drawn away from the venison question. "Oooh...your legs look shiny an cool!" she said, grinning brightly.

Austin looked at Kaeden blankly. "Why?" he asked. "I can't beat'em if I'm runnin' awa--" He stopped as he finally noticed Jace, staring up at her in wonder. "'Ello, loverly lady," he said in that baby tough tone of his. "C'ld you do me a wee favor?"

Nataya nodded, understanding it now. "Oh....okay! Nat-yah will ask Mommy to try." she said. Mommy could probably get some for her to try, and she could see if it was as yummy as the older girl said. She then grinned at her offer, reaching her left hand out to touch her leg. "Feels neat...." she said, giggling. She then remembered her manners. "Oh.....this one named Nat-yah....you?" she asked, introducing herself.

Nataya looked at the little pirate as he talked to the older girl, stepping to the side so she wasn't standing between them. She didn't want to stand there if he was talking to the redheaded girl; that would have been rude. She then looked over to the other boy, who had a really fluffy tail. She smiled, waving to him.

"You seriously need to eat deer, Crazyhair," Jace told Jamie with satisfaction. "It is dee-licious."

She turned back to little Nataya and the tiny weirdo boy; she squatted down again so that she was level, cocking her head at Austin. "What can I do you for, chumpling?" she said.

"Anyway, Jace Darnell does not beat up people for requests or money," said the redhead. "I'm not going to kick anyone for a pipsqueak like you. It would be dishonourable to my evil outer-space robolegs."

Also it would be worrying for her look in general if she went around doing whatever toddlers said.

Kaeden had waved back at winged girl when she greeted them, then looked to the red headed girl. He had never seen legs like those. No wonder Austin wanted her to kick Jake!

Too bad it didn't work.

"Austin! You do not do that!" Chloe scolded him.

Yeah, seeing both Jake and Chloe mad now meant running would be a good idea. Kae didn't need more motivation than a tug. He took off, running down the beach.

"Nicetame'cha, gottago!" he said quickly to the others as he ran.

"But you don't eat deer," Jamie insisted, as if the notion was as strange as eating rocks. From the corner of his eye he saw his mother shake her head slightly. He frowned, confused, but didn't mention it, still muddling over the idea of why anyone would think about eating Bambi.

Becca wasn't going to tell her son that deer were very commonly a food source for people worldwide; including herself. She'd let him think what he liked. He was young and it was his choice to make. She nodded to Nataya, taking one of the cold hotdogs with the tongs and placing it on the grill. It would take a minute, but not too long. "Do you want to go get a bun?" she suggested as she let the meat sizzle before flipping it over.
