Needless to say, Rory was shocked and horrified about what was happening between Wisp and Chris. Her two best friends were fighting! And she knew there wasn't anything that could be done about this. She couldn't choose a side!
She wanted to run to Wisp's side, and tell her it was okay, but she knew if she did that, then Chris would be pissed. Honestly. She didn't know -what- to do! All she could do was stand there, hands clutching each other.

If she had looked at Rory's face, Wisp would have possibly ended the fight then and there, seeing her misery; instead, she stamped one foot down. "You are ALWAYS treating me like a baby!" she bellowed back. "Just because I'm smaller than you!" (Never mind that this was the pot calling the kettle black.) "You know what? You're not grown up either. You're not my keeper. And you're NOT my BROTHER."
The last had slipped out before she had even thought about it; as though she had violated some holy covenant, it seemed to hang in the air between them. "And you can't tell me to get out," she said, "because I'm going. Goodbye, RORY. Goodbye, IGGY. Goodbye, OTHER PERSON I DON'T KNOW."
She turned tail and ran, leaving the gym door swinging behind her. The only person who seemed satisfied was Jace.
"Awesome," she said. "You can't pay for that entertainment."

"Darn it," Chris muttered, slamming his fist on the desk. It cracked, right down the middle, but not enough that it fell apart. He was wearing his earring after all.
"I'm not going after her," he said, looking at Rory pointedly.

That was all the permission Rory needed to leave. She ran after the other girl, intent on talking to her, or calming her down. Anything really! She just needed to get out of there!

Jamie had been about to ask about the sound system they were using, but after that whirlwind of an event it completely slipped his mind. He had no idea what was going on; at least not from his own experience. He didn't even know who everyone was yet. But, being a problem solver by nature, he was able to piece together at least what he believed the problem seemed to be. It was a problem of conflicting interests; one girl wanted to do something with super heroes and the other wanted a band. Chris was obviously more interested in the band. Because he wouldn't get shot at? Something like that. This upset the first girl. And the girls were...siblings? It seemed to be something like that, anyway. It was probably something similar to what he and Alisa were. Not blood siblings, but adopted. Except he and Alisa didn't fight like that.
Instead of rejecting the idea he hadn't experienced-fighting with his sibling-he thought it over and considered the idea. What was it like, to fight with someone you were close with? It seemed painful. Everyone in the room was tense and upset. It was something extremely hard to miss. Chris seemed so especially. Jamie never knew he had such a powerful voice...or such powerful fists. He supposed he shouldn't be surprised, but it was still strange to actually see. There were still a lot of things Jamie just didn't understand. Becca told him he'd learn. He hoped so. He hated unsolved riddles.
His mind whirled like cogs in a clock, but he said nothing once the conflict had come to an unsettling end. At least not at first. Then he murmured simply, "Maybe we should meet again later." Somehow he didn't think they'd be very focused on the band right now. He felt distracted and he hadn't even been involved. He couldn't imagine how it was for the others. And one of their band members had left...

"You're right," Chris said lowly. "Let's split up. Talk to your parents about getting the instruments or learning how to play. And see if you can find some music we can play. We'll all look for it. The more choices we have, the better." He paused. "Thanks for joining," he added before turning his attention to the desk.
His dad was going to be angry.
((Shall we call this done, then?))
