Ijn tilted her head to the side at Endymion's words before staring down at the water of the stream curiously. The ocean? What was the ocean and how was the water playful? It seemed just like water to her. She eyed it nervously wondering if it really was just water before lowering her muzzle to it to get a taste.
She snorted in surprise as she heard her name and she looked up. She nodded quickly and trotted her way over to the males still very confused about what had been said between the two. She didn't want to bother them with silly questions but it was troubling her.
"Ummm...excuse me...b-but...what is the ocean?" She asked quietly keeping her gaze low. "And...why...or...story...?" Her last question was very fragmented as she hadn't known exactly what to say. She wanted to know why they all had their own stories but it had sounded to strange to ask.

"The ocean is a large body of water, much like a lake only bigger... Instead of ripples it has waves that roll up to touch the shore. It's a bit salty and there's lots of sand like you can sometimes find by riverbanks." He nodded slowly as he glanced back at the filly.
"As to why they have stories... Well..." He paused, trying to think of the best way to explain it. "Do you see how the water in the river moves? The water you splash around in one day is not the same as it was before or will be in the future. It might feel the same, but it will have traveled from high in the mountains to come here."

Ijn listened very closely to what he said, picking out details to make a mental image with. She smiled at the picture in her mind of what a giant salty lake with giant ripples would look like. For the life of her she didn't know why she was imagining a giant frog sitting on the shore.
Her mental image washed away as he began to explain the next thing. She looked down at the water rushing by. She had not thought of it before, she had always thought that the water in streams was like the water in puddles. Always the same water but for some reason it moved.
"So it travels...and brings memories of places with it?" She asked looking back. "Does that...mean...the water is alive like us?"

"Not quite like us... More like the wind. It can seem alive with the way it moves and it can carry things along with it, but it doesn't breathe or speak as we do." He nodded slowly before leaning down to give her a gentle nudge. "Come, we still have your family to find."
