...I hope you're not supposing religion has no values...because they do. It is the values/morals from religion that contribute (and in many cases, create) social values/morals. ^_^...
I'm not saying I DON'T agree...I'm just saying the two have connections.
(For example, in Christianity and Judaism there are the ten commandments...some of those 10 commandments are now common law, such as no stealing, no murder, and ideas of cheating on spouces as a negative thing- now grounds for divorce. Some cultures are ruled by religion like the middle east, and some are not like Asia-particularily Japan and China.)
