ICPO? I wonder what that is... She almost gasped at hearing that L would go on to later. is he crazy? Kira could kill him... She then heard a chair being moved and footsteps approaching the door, she quickly and quietly went back to the kitchen and stuck a few of her twizzlers in the glass and turned on her music, she stared at the ceiling fan a distant look on her face while she lazily chewed on a twizzler.

L walked in, hands in pockets and bare feet scratching his leg. He closed the door behind him with two fingers and slid to turn around to face the orphan. Faster than she seems... he thought, and jumped back in his original seat.
He stared at her from across the table for a while before speaking. "I will be going to meet the head of the Japanese Police tomorrow at 21:05," he lied, wondering how she would react.

Kitty stared at the ceiling until L spoke, she blinked a few times then turned her attention to him and pulled at twizzler from her mouth so she could speak better. She couldn't help but move her head side to side a little from her song. "how come?" 21:05...what time is that?...9?

"To discuss our next moves." His dark eyes watched her, wondering how she could possibly bring up the fact that he was lying - for that would give away her cover for eaves-dropping. Then again, if the girl is real clever, then she might trick L into saying something.
But that was rarely a 10.8% chance of doing.

L stared straight on, never blinking, dark eyes bearing down into hers. "I plan on speaking to Kira face-to-face," he went on. "But in order to do that, I need permission from the head of the Japanese Police Force."

Kitty raised her eyebrows in surprise. "Your going to speak to Kira?!" she said a tad loudly, but not over doing it. She furrowed her brow and bit her nail again, she pulled out a headphone, she looked thoughtfully at the cup she had the twizzlers in. "That's gonna be hard to do since you don't know who he is...the internet is too vague for you to use since he probably won't look on the site you'll be one...obviously a phone wouldn't work since his identity isn't known....hm...perhaps a TV brodcast since radio is also too vauge?" she looked at him curiously.

"And why would a radio be a bit...vague?" he asked. "In fact, it would ensure my safety. And I believe you and know that if friends call Kira and say that L is on the radio, people worldwide would tune in."

Up until that moment Thorn had remained completely silent infront of the detective and his friend. She wondered if she should tell him about what had been happening.
"Uh...L..."
She paused. Was this really a good idea? Surely L would just laugh.

She looked at his face, her blue eyes standing out because of her eyeliner. "there are a few things wrong with a radio, one. If you use an individual station then Kira or his friends might not listen to it. Like say Kira, somehow, turns out to be a-" She puts her hands together in a copy of a person in prayer. "very religious Christan." she nods her head side-to-side at each word. "Then i doubt he will be listening to a heavy metal station. Two he may not get the station, like he might be American and i doubt that any stations from Japan could reach America, trust me I've tried. Thr-why am i saying "he" instead of Kira?.....aw well I'm still gonna continue to say it. Three, Kira may not be anywhere with electronics, like camping...hmm...never mind number three he has to get information of criminals from somewhere"

L gave a slight shrug, barely lifting his shoulders up. "I can easily put my voice on all of the radio stations. So why do you believe I would rather do a TV station than a radio?"
He hoped she would guess what he was thinking. If not, then he would simply tell her. Not everyone can read minds, after all, and it might broaden her thinking skills.

"hmm...." Kitty looked at the table though full chewing on her nail. "so...he- no that wouldn't work...." She crossed her legs on the chair, this was making her think. She sat normally and smiled "because a radio could be heard from towns away, but a TV station could be limited to the whole world or a whole town?"

Thorn stood behind them and shuddered at every mention of kira. She wondered whether it would be wise to get involved.
"But L if you were to risk your life going after kira you'd have to be constantly one step ahead and thinking of all possible angles or you'd be killed before even coming close! We don't even know what kira is capable of!"
After a few seconds of silence passed, Thorn wished she'd never uttered that sentence. She decided that confronting L could wait and she ran through the nearest exit towards her room.

L shook his head at Kitty. "Still no." He was surprised at the outburst, and even more by her running away. The detective jumped out of his chair and ran toward her - and in a flash was right behind the girl. Before she could reach her bedroom door, a calm, cool hand touched her shoulder.
"Remu," he whispered. "It is not foolish to think that. I am very capable of knowing what I am risking here," he went on coolly. "Do you wish to sit down?" It sounded like the girl meant something else as well.
