"Long distant transportation. Like warping. Its rumored that there are some relics floating around in the Meteo." Fokkusu opened the wings again and sped off heading up at a step angle. "Hurry up and stay close."

"No problem" Cal opens the wings and fires off after Fokkuso keeping his distance just in cause quick dodges are needed. "So if we are heading out that probally means a few more teams were hired, the way it works now the more teams the better chance the mission gets done. I just hope that the teams dont try to kill us if we beat them there."

"I wouldn't worry about dogfights. Most people aren't crazy enough to dogfight in the middle of an asteroid field..." The ship gained altitude quickly, flying quickly up to break out of the atmosphere.

After quite awhile of constantly searching through jobs, one was very promising. It was a relic gatherings mission, very high priced. The bad news was it had been posted for awhile and many other mercenaries would be aware of it. With that kind of pay, he had to at least attmept it. The best part was the team basis was optional, he could solo it if he wanted and he would get more pay then a team would since they would have to divide it up. Koudo dropped his data pad and started running out of his office to his ship, grabbing his Megapulse Hammer that was leaning against the office wall. Jumping from the stairs, he landed directly into his ship's cockpit. The weight would have been damaging to lighter class fighters. Both he and his hammer weighed quite alot, but heavier classes were made for bigger pilots. Koudo pressed a button on the left of his control wheel and the hatch slowly closed above him. Pressing several buttons on his far right, the engines started and the booster lifts started lifting him out of the hangar as the doors opened. His destination was the Meteo Field, rumor was in the job report that relics were floating around there and were worth a bit. First he would have to break the atmopshere or the warp would be off by quite significant amout, plating him on some other system by mistake. Hopfully he could avoid any trouble, he still needed to learn to fly properly let alone any battles.

Oull smiled as he neared the atmosphere layer. "Sounds like fun. How well does it pay?" His wings foled back slowly into their compartments as heat began to increase around the ship. "What you guys planning on spending your shares of the pay on?"

"What do you mean spend on? Its a one-in-million chance that we find anything. Even if we do, we would be lucky if we actually got payed anything decent. I think- Hold on." The Shadow Striker started to experience mild turbulence as they broke through the atmosphere.
When the turbulence ended, Fokkusu continued on. "We need to save every single credit. Hangar rent, food, maintenance for the ship, and hell, the fuel cells that these ships run on. Thank god we live off the grid or else we would have to pay taxes" Fokkusu closed the wings, as they are not needed for space flight and zipped off towards Meteo.

Beware...Shadow had just remembered that he had gotten distracted while in the Field, and he had forgotten to carry out his mission. The reward wasn't really what he was after, seeing as he had sufficient funds for buying a battleship as big as the Halberd. He was out for the adrenaline rush and to seek out the competition. He also had a keen interest to see if the legendary teleportation relics really existed. "Well, I'll take the Halberd... It won't be as fast, but I do need to take it out for a spin..." He got everything ready, needing to push many more buttons and switches to get the giant ship running. Once high enough into the air the six batlike wings extended and it proceeded to exiting the atmosphere. ...Metaknight has arrived

Koudo's Fist finally broke the atmosphere, the booster lifts were immediatly and replaced with the engine turbines. After performing the standard space check on the controls, he set off. His systems were detecting other fighters nearby, probably other mercenaries looking to cash in on the job. Koudo didn't want to be the last to get there, he needed the money for food, he wasn't going hunting again for soem wild animal back planet side for food. Koudo pressed the red button directly left of his control wheel and a green button far to the right above his on the interface. He increased the speed of the Fist, not by much, but to slowly place himself in the lead without him looking desperate to the other mercenaries. Koudo didn't really pay attention to how many were really out there, jsut hopfully they weren't in teams. One disadvantage of working solo in search missions is that you had more eyes to help the search; One teammate finds something, technically they all find something.

"Eh, who knows, we may find something out here that'll be worth a lot of credits." His ship flew out of the atmosphere and followed fukkoso as his wings slowly spread out. "Hmm, looks like my left thruster partially burnt out. Guess I'll be lagging behind boss."

"Lagging behind, man your ship sucks. Alright, cut down on the chatter. I want this channel clear in case of emergency." Fokkusu was quite proud of his ship and he cut no costs when it came to it. The Shadow Striker had top of the line equipment and hardware. Fokkusu pressed a small button near the right joystick and a panel near the front flipped to expose a radar screen. The lights flickered on the screen contrasted by a green background. Oull's ship and Cal's ships where displayed as white dots while others where displayed as red.
Fokkusu examined the instrument. He saw a red dot slowly drifting past him. That dot was Koudo and his ship, the Fist. He was a bit worried but he suddenly saw something a bit more troubling than just that one ship. A larger dot then suddenly appeared behind them. Fokkusu picked his head up and looked back. In the corner of his eye he could see the Halberd trailing behind them. "s**t! Is that the Halberd? What is that egomaniac doing here?"
Fokkusu quickly contacted Oull and Cal. "Pick up the pace. Now!" He squeezed the throttle controls hard until the two halves came together making a clicking sound. The Shadow Striker darted ahead at at least three times faster than its previous speed.
"This just might go really bad."

"Oh no you don't, I'm not getting cheated out...Wait a minute."
Koudo tapped his radar with his index claw on the right side of the control panel. It wasn't broken, a large ship was closing in. Koudo didn't know who it blnoged to, but he could use this to his advantage somehow in the future. A big ship like that could really mess with the other mercenaries.
"This is where the fun begins."
Koudo pressed the left panel blue button, activating the main engines. This was a race in his eyes. His ship wasn't the fastest, but it had one of the bests for agility. Koudo was still a little rusty on the controls, but soon he would be able to activate functions on the Fist much quicker with practice. Koudo's Fist's main engines activated and its speed increased drastically forward, barely able to keep up with the superior speed of a lighter class vessel like the Shadow Striker. The Fist was too heavy for his speeds, the amount of weaponry it had was a major contributor to that.
"These guys must have a little history with that big ship, something I should take full advantage of."
Koudo had a habit of talking to himself, it came with working on a farm all by yourself. Sure, the animals were good listeners, but that was becasue they never talked back. All he neede to do now was to figure out a way to use it to his advantage, he would have to ponder on that as he tried to at leas get close to the Shadow Striker's speed. Another factor was Koudo needed to keep his distance, they might not take it friendly with him getting too close.

Oull flipped off the speakers so he could still here but they couldn't here him. He did the same as fokkusu and noticed the two ships behind them. "Great, just what we needed. The halberd and some other big ship. Better hurry!" He flipped up a switch and his ship began to increase on speed, his wings spinning faster.
He was just as proud of his ship as fokkusu was of his. His ship was made for agility, not endurance. His systems were a bit outdated but it's what his father had used and he was fine with that. Oull flipped down a screen on the side of his controls and checked the status of his thrusters. "Hmm..The damages not as bad as I thought. Though those two will be able to keep pace with me." He just shrugged and pushed forward and his controls and sped up to hopefully catch up with fokkusu.

"What do we have here?"
Another fighter class ship was racing up to catch up with the other one. Like the fighter up ahead, it was a lighter class ship. It seemed a bit out dated, but probably equipped with some modifications then. No way was Koudo letting him catch up with his buddy, he didn't want to race two ships. Pulling a quick maneuver, he barrel rolled so he would be just beside the other ship's as they were both racing forward. Koudo looked to the side a bit behind him as the ship cam forward, it seemed to have an owl as a pilot. Koudo waved, he wasn't the aggresive type outside of battle and didn't even consider ramming the other ship with his wing. The Fist only had two wings, but they were thicker then those with more then two. All he wanted was to make sure he at least kept up with them, maybe they didn't have a history with that big ship. If that was the case, they didn't trust it, and that would mean he shouldn't trust it either. Koudo didn't bother with the com, their speakers were probably shut off so they weren't distracted.

Oull looked out just as the man waved. Having know idea what to do, he just waved back. "well...that was pretty strange. Never thought another mercenary would wave at me." He just ahead and noticed the big ship was keeping pace with him easily. "Good thing that he's friendly though. He could swat me out of the space in the blink of an eye."
He did another check over his system and flipped a couple of switches and a digital screen popped up on the side opposite the other ship. "Let's see what's new." He used one hand to steer as he moved the screen where he could see it easier as he piloted. "Hmm... Weapon stocks are going down again...oh! It's something about the dissapearing ships." He flipped through it as he tried to keep his position behind kokkusu.

"Who does this guy think he is?" Fokkusu started complaining to himself. "He thinks this is a race... He could beat those two, but not me." Fokkusu rolled slowly as he zipped through space. "Theres no way, I have a better ship!" He blurted out watching the others slowly fall behind him.
