Big bad horses? Setsumi chuckled to herself, finding Mel to fit that description a bit hard. Hooves kicked about slowly in the water, doing their best to keep the mare above water. At first her feathers had protested, but now they floated contently on her skin and enjoying the water. "Oh, I don't plan to swim far out at all." Yeah, the idea of whatever could live in the darker water kinda left her closer to the lighter and shallow waters. Wet locks clung to her face and neck as she turned to see the other. "Yeah? How long has it been...you said you were a youngling right?"

Mel nodded as they swam around. "Yep a youngling. Maybe a few weeks out of the basket or so. I met someone around my age and of course being the rebels that we were, we didn't want our parents to find us yet and make us go back home. So we followed the river to a lake similiar to this one. I suggested we go and find some fish so I jumped in the lake. She had wings though so she couldn't go in very far." He smiled at the thought, he didn't have many childhood memories so he cherished the ones he did have. "Didn't I already tell you that story, Sumi?" he asked with a laugh.

Setsumi blinked to the nickname before shrugging lightly. "Yeah, I suppose I just forgot. Sorry." She kicked around in a circle and made beck to the shallow water, just so her feet could rest on solid ground. "Heh, you were lucky that you could swim then. Can you imagine how bad it would have been otherwise." Just imagine how the parent's felt? Surely if she was a mother she wouldn't be happy founding her child gone for a dip. A laugh broke her thoughts. "Heh, Sumi...haven't heard that in a long time."

"Sorry. I can call you by your full name if you want. I tend to make nicknames out of other people's names sometimes. Like my sister's name is Tuulikki and we call her Tuli. But it's up to you." Mel swam back over to the shallow water and flopped over, letting the cool water wash over his side for a bit. "It would have been very bad but I didn't go out far enough for my hooves to even leave the lake bottom. Honestly, I don't think I COULD swim back then," he said with a small laugh. "Probably why I didn't go out any farther. I was just interested in looking for fish at the time."
