Carl smiled despite the tension. He wasn't exactly in any position to do much else. "I'm glad both of you came." Though it might have been better not so much at the same time. Nothing could be done about that though, so best make the best of it. He inclined his head a little at Rogue. "She does, doesn't she? She brought me some lunch, though I don't care much for fruit. You may have my share...If that's alright with you, Trea."

-Trea released her near death grip on the pendant that Rogue had given her. She smiled, eased by both of their actions. She nodded and slid the basket to Rogue.-
Thank you both. Rogue, you can have as much as you would like, there are strawberries, cantaloupe and an assortment of berries.

"Strawberries?" his eyes grew wide. He LOVED strawberries! "If I may? I don't want to rob you of your lunch, Carl."
He offered the eagle a smile, and reached out to hover his paw over one of the juicy red fruits - waiting for Carl to say yea or nay.
"Trea... I'm so glad you're caring for Carl - It's kind of you to do so... Then again - you've always been kind."

Carl shook his head. "It's fine. I don't much care for sweets...unless you have dark chocolate in there."
It seemed the bird's taste was the complete opposite of the sugar happy Nay. The berries and melon wasn't at all appetizing, so he settled for the nourishment of conversation.
"So...When did you get here? I didn't hear mom let you in...is Dragon here as well?"

[Ok, Imma wrap up my part undue-ly short because if forgot i need LOTS of sleep tonight. New job starts tomorrow.]
-She smiled sheepishly as he called her kind. She did try to be, there was no reason to be mean. She watched the two men with the food, a soft giggle the only sound that came from her for a moment. She wondered who Dragon was but didn't have time to ask as she looked out the window.-
Sorry my boys, I do wish I could stay longer. I haven't really gotten to talk to either of you in a long time. There is some white and chocolate cake in the bottom. You two can share, I am sure. -She smiled at them pleasantly- I can come back and get the basket later, or one of you can leave it at the shop. Have fun.
-With that she gave one last look at both of them, a genuine smile on her face before she hopped of the bed and left the room casually-

"Trea..." Carl trailed off as he watched her rise and depart. He knew she wasn't angry at him, persay, but he wished he could say something a bit more of comfort to ease her mind. Hell, he needed something to ease himself! The bird turned towards Rogue and went quiet. This was the first time he'd been alone with him since the kiss. What could he say? What would Rogue say? The pinions began to fluff up again as he fidgeted with the comforter, waiting for the silence to end.

"You look well for nearly dying of blood loss." he murmured, a blush creeping up his cheeks. "We almost lost you. I was afraid you WERE dead... Thank gods you weren't, eh?"
Eek scrambled over, and started making Carl more comfortable under the blankets. He squeaked something, and patted Carl's hand.
"I'm.... surprised you even let me in here. I mean, I pretty much manhandled you... Got you drunk..."

"Not to mention you stitched me up, made sure I got some help, and..." He fluffed a bit, "Aren't completely disgusted with me. Should I be upset?" To that he already knew the answer. That night had had much worse happen than getting drunk.
Carl inclined his head a bit, trying to find something other than the squirrel to look at. "I'm shocked you aren't terrified of me after that...I killed her...and I...we..." He seemed to have trouble with the concept and stopped there. Rogue already knew what he was going to say.
