Adonia snatched her arm away from Virgil and stood with the most nasty dagger eyes she had ever looked at someone with. He was challenging her authority and that was extremely insulting to her. "Shape up" she hissed "Or you'll be demoted...or even better sent back to be a guardian, that is what you are in nature and that is what you will go back to being if you don't show your leaders respect" she turned from him and carried on up the pathway that led to the doors of the church, she pushed them open coming face to face with what she instantly knew as a hound. A rush of energy went through her, she grabbed the hitl of her sword and without really thinking too much about it she swung at him, what was there to think about? She was an angel and he was a hound, her job was to be rid of him.

Shalom was surprised and confused. This hound wanted redemption... But could someone sent to hell, someone who has devoured the souls of innocents, have redemption? "Redemption..." said Shalom as the hound walked away. "It is a beautiful thing, isn't it? I don't know if someone who has already made his choice and gone to hell can still have redemption. I can assure you that you will not find it by continuing to kill innocents. But if you can... I will help-" Another presence entered the room. It was an angel, angry and determined. She drew her sword and struck out at the hound... conflict. Shalom hated it. But it was a necessary evil... Anyone who would consume an innocent deserves to die... At least, that's what he told himself. It wasn't that which angered him so much, but rather that they would fight in a church, in a holy place. But for now he was content to wait, to hope that they would leave. And yet he seeks redemption... No! He must die so that no more fall...

Toby glanced up, snapping out of his thoughts, as Gray stormed out of the church and he walked over to him, sensing his anger. "Gray...sir, whats wrong?" His eyebrows knitted together with worry as he gazed a this idol. I've never seen him so mad. he thought as Gray looked away, not saying anything, "C'mon man! If there is anyone you can tell something, you know its me!" Toby shivered agian as a cold wind swept his hair back from his forehead as he waited for Gray to replie.

He heard Toby's questions but did not answer on account of being attacked mercilessly by some Angel that had seemed to have just been waiting outside of the doors almost. He felt the very tip of her blade rip through his shirt but he was not injured, she had only just missed. Daft luck. These angels were warriors and this one looked like she was ready to kill. Putting on his arrogant and callous facade despite knowing he could be in trouble, he smirked brushing his ebony hair to the side. With his right leg he kicked at her then looking over to Toby he shouted. "Well don't just stand there!" he expected better from Toby, he was a quick and strong hound...he did not doubt that Toby would be in there fighting shortly. Gray considered Toby loyal and a good learner; one day however, for Tobys own sake he hoped that he would eventually lead his own life and be rid of the attachment he had with Gray. "Idiot angel" he spat turning his attention to her, noticing her long dark hair…he always imagined angles to be fair in hair with golden skin, however he knew better, that was simply a misconception made by mortals. He noticed another angel along side her. Now his hair was golden and he looked somewhat regal and proud, he absolutely fit the bill when it came to the image of angels that humans had drilled into their minds.
Virgil had been extremely surprised to see a Hound up close with its defences down, he was on his way leaving the church. Adonia had acted fast...typical of her, kill first ask questions later... The first thing Virgil did was look into the church behind the hound to see that the priest and another with him sat at the organ were fine and the hound had not actually harmed anyone. He unsheathed his sword; he heard the hound call out to another and sighed at the thought of there not only being one to deal with. Virgil rushed to Adonias’ defence charging into the hound right after he had kicked her. “You will go back down to hell where you belong!” Virgil shouted in his face knocking the hound to the ground, in his face he saw everything he hated, the destruction of the mortals he oh so loved and respected. He saw the monster that thrived on the destruction of the minds of men; the decay of Gods plan for the souls of his children, the innocent humans that walked this earth. In this hounds face, in his red demon eyes he saw all that he hated, he saw a mockery of Gods will. Virgil saw the parasite he was out to exterminate for good.

“A demon!?” she gasped, Rudolph shuddered taking a few steps back from the girl “but you do not seem evil” she said with a whisper. Her eyes crept over the demon and she decided she would carry on her way and hope this demon would leave her without conflict “Then we will go our separate ways…if demons like you do not wish to befriend elves” Rudolph began walking down the broken streets of Heedwic. She passed the Dovedon inn seeing demons running up the path across the road in the opposite direction that she was walking and followed by them she saw a red headed demon woman, as she ran she saw that her eyes were wild and her air flicked in the wind like fire…the woman looked ferocious. Where are all of the humans? She wondered.

The hounds’ sudden kick had knocked Adonia onto her bottom, the hilt of her blade slipped from her hand onto the grass. I'm done for! She instinctively thought as she padded the grass with her right hand until she grabbed her trusty sword, that cold metal the best feeling ever in Adonias opinion…She looked up from her sword to see the hound had been tackled to the ground by Virgil, she was glad of him rushing in at her defence but secretly inside she felt spite. I'll never hear the last of this one she rolled her eyes bringing herself back up to her feet. "You didn't need to intervene" she said "I could have handled it" the sound of pride.

Shalom suppressed his anger, still waiting for the fight to find its way outside. But his blood began to boil. He closed his eyes, breathing deeply. He heard the thud of the hound hitting the floor. His first emotion was worry, but he quickly subsided that as well. He replaced it with a false happiness, reminding himself that the hound must die.

Izanami glared at the elf. Didn't look like a demon. She had the wings and everything, the nice act was just a facade. Izanami walked down near the church and heard what sounded like fighting. An angel was knocked onto the grass; her sword flying away from her. Maybe I should help out. She despised angels, but she did not feel like getting involved right now. Izanami walked over tot he church and checked out what was going on through a broken stained glass window. A hound was fighting off two angels. The odds were against him unless the other hound helped out. In the background a priest stood there in shock. A human or an elf, she could not tell if it was one or the other or both, sat at the organ. He was the one playing that sad music that I heard earlier.

((Sorry, I was in Wisconsin for a few days)) Toby growled. He was mad. He didn't like surprises. He sliped his hand into his pocket and brought out a smally knife. He jumped on top of the angel with gold hair and started hacking away with his knife at every possible place. He jumped off and kicked the angel in the chest with both feet. He landed on the grassy ground with a light thump on all fours. He stood up and wiped the cornors of his mouth with the back of his hand as he waited for the angel to get back up.

On his back in the doorway of the church Gray tried his hardest to defend himself against the iron fists that plummeted down from the heavens with such force he thought his skull might actually cave in. He was not worried, these wounds would heal extremely fast, what he did wonder was why on earth didn't this angel just get the job over with? He was a fool for messing around. This only gave Gray time to save himself, his body jolted and he laughed finding the whole experience a little enjoyable. Sweet throbbing pain travelled over the whole of his face and he imagined it swelling up into a giant purple balloon, for a few moments he closed his eyes and with a smile he imagined his balloon like head floating up into the sky with his limp body going up along with it, his feet dangling over the rooftops as the winds carried him away. The fists came to a stop and there was a struggle, Gray opened his eyes catching glimpses of Toby as he dragged the Angel away, little flashes of light sparkled in Grays eyes like magic, the light reflecting from Toby's knife. "Good old Toby" he whispered, he propped himself up with his elbows and looked back, his top half inside the church, he saw Shalom as he sat; watching "You said you would help me" he hissed "And yet, as I find with most people of the church...your words are empty" his smile broadened making him look a little insane as his eyes twinkled behind bruised and battered skin. Gray turned from inside of the church to see the angel had been knocked down by Toby with a very quick and clean kick in the chest. He pulled him up giving Toby an approving and impressed nod, he stood with his sword at the ready seeing that the female angel had now also gotten to her feet and stood with her sword also. "I can give you a chance to leave" he said firmly "be wise...and walk away" he shrugged.
Virgil had given up control, guilt taunted him knowing his actions were not Holy and not of purity. Anger had made its way into Virgils veins and he could do nothing but repeatedly strike this hound. It became somewhat rhythmic, each fist clumsily in time...it was like an angry beat, a wrong and selfish beat. He could not stop and what angered him more was that this monster laughed and smiled making Virgil strike even harder and harder, demon blood stained his knuckles and then he felt sharp pains all over his back and head, a small knife began jabbing into him as someone from behind clung onto him. Virgil was not thinking straight, he had let anger get the better of him and because of this unbalanced thinking he found himself on the floor. He felt dizzy and he felt wrong, he should have killed this scum while he had the chance. "God, forgive me" he cried as he tried to compose himself.

Izanami sat back and watched the fight. All the chaos made her smile. The angels were getting the crap kicked out of them and that made her smile even more. The angels trying to protect the humans just made her mad. Why do they have to intervene with everything we, demons, find fun or humorous. The thought of good or bad popped in her head. She was taught that torturing people was good and caring was bad, but angels were taught differently. Maybe how you define good or bad is based on how you were brought up. Izanami crept to the front of the church trying to be as quiet as possible. Fighting really wasn't her strong point. The closer she got the strong the smell or hound and angel became. It was overwhelming. Izanami made it to the front door and watched the fight and listened to everything they were saying. She was so close she could make out the hound smiling while he was being beaten up. Why is he smiling? Izanami had never seen that before. Usually people would cringe in pain not smile. On the other hand demons and hounds enjoyed pain and watching others suffer.

It had all happened so quickly, she had watched in awe as Virgil seemed to let go and seeing him like that made her shudder. Guardian in nature she recalled saying, he was NOT Guardian in nature at all. He was fierce and he was strong. “Virgil stop” she had breathed but it had only come out in a whisper, she did not care for the hound and she did not doubt that he deserved the beating he was getting but she did care for Virgil and she did not want him to lose himself and then regret it. As she watched she thought of her sister, the way he mindlessly pounded into the hound reminded her of Zuriel (her sister) for Zuriel was demon in nature and Zuriel was an angry and spiteful girl. Many memories flooded back and she stood almost paralyzed by her thoughts. Her eyes on Virgil as he was attacked by another hound from behind, she had not even attempted to protect Virgil and it was only until the first hound got to his feet did she snap out of the state she had fallen into. “Now is not the time to pray!” she exclaimed upon hearing Virgils cry to the Lord “Get up and fight!” her normal self had returned to her and there were no more thoughts about Zuriel, her main thought was getting rid of these two hounds.

In Dovedon Inn she found people but these people were not the people she had hoped to find, a heavy atmosphere thickened the air and the broken people sat around almost unaware of being alive. They sipped at their drinks slowly with no where else to go, none of them looked at the headless body that lay fresh against the bar. No one looked at her when she entered, Rudolph knelt down by the body; her eyes wandering over her clothing and a chill went up her spine “I bet she had a wonderful life…and a beautiful face” she whispered to herself “but where on earth is her head?” she questioned, her eyes darting about the room and then she saw a sight that would have broken a mortals heart for sure. A young girl stood with large watering eyes and tattered clothing, her hair was made of gold and there in the darkness of the inn, she clung on to what she had left of the dead woman…her beautiful but bloody head. Rudolph made her way over to the young girl; she knelt down once more to look her straight in the eyes.
“Do not be full of sorrow my child” she said softly as she brushed a large tear from the girls cheek as it made its way downward over her plump young skin “She will be with the angels now and she lives on in your memory too, do not be sad for her memory should be happy” she watched as the young girl absorbed her words, she did not speak but simply nodded and so Rudolph made her way to a table where men sat, some with their heads buried in their hands and others just staring into their drinks as if looking for answers from a crystal ball.
“Can any of you tell me what is going on?” she asked politely “It’s just that…things are so quiet..” “The quiet is the worst” a croaky voice sounded from the group of men “they’re still here but they’re quiet, picking us all off one by one” “Who?” she asked curiously “What’s happening in Heedwic? Why is there no sun?” there were so many questions she wanted answering and to her disappointment the men at the table knew as much as her so she left Dovedon inn.
She sat outside of the inn on the pavement and looked up to the sky and then called her trusted sparrow, Cupid. It was only a matter of minutes and she could see him flying towards her, she smiled and held out her hand so that he would eventually land in her hand.
“Hello my little sparrow” she chirped “I need you to take me to people who have not given up on Heedwic, I want answers” she explained to the little bird. Rudolph got to her feet “Come on now Cupid, guide me” the sparrow left her hand and flew along the street and Rudolph ran behind it to keep up with it as it zoomed off, hopefully leading her to the answers she was looking for.

The hound was right. He'd promised to help, and instead he'd left him to the angels. But no... not like this. He would never fight on a hound's side against angels. But still, what if he lost? What if he was killed? Shalom tried to tell himself that was a good thing, but he struggled to believe his own lies. Meanwhile, Father Tunston grew frantic, seeing that the angels were losing. He couldn't figure out what to do, thinking he was too old, too weak to save them. But then he thought of something. "Shalom, you have to help them!" He said as he held out the crucifix to the half-elf. He looked at it, feeling its presence, now at the breaking point and unsure what to do. "I, I can't..." He managed to say, trembling. "Of course you can! You know how to fight!" "No... I mean, I can't... he seeks redemption Father!" "I know you want to help him, but its too late. He's already made his choice. Now please, for the angels' sake, help them!" Shalom just looked down closing his eyes. Father Tunston was dumbfounded, not sure what to do. He turned back to the angels, frantic enough to doubt his own frailty. He ran, dashing to the hound, blaring the crucific and ready to use it however he must.
Shalom acted before he thought. He wasn't sure how it happened, how he moved so fast, only that he did. He was next to the priest, his dagger clashing metal with the crucifix. "Please... Please don't kill him," he said, speaking to Father Tunston and the angels. "He seeks redemption. He seeks to make amends."

The angel lay there, not doing very much, so Toby wiped the sides of the blade off in the grass. He put the knife back in his pocket as he walked over to the angel. He was breathing kind of hard. His breath came in quick, audiable(sp?) drags. He stood over the angel with hate in his eyes. "Gray....what should I do know? I have many ideas but....." He spat onto the angel's face, making sue his spit got into it's eyes.
