[My muse has returned. Sorry for the long delay. sweatdrop ]

So much pain. So much suffering. Even after all of these years, after all the work that was put into the village, it only changed for the worse... Is it possible that everything we did that we thought would aid them only lead to their downfall? Were our good intentions not good enough? Sullied by the greed of others that only wished for more power? NO... they all taught me to think differently than that. There has to be a reason for thier actions... There has to be... Maybe... maybe she'll know more about my parents? Know more about the riddle that has haunted me for my entire life. WHY. Nakamura argued within herself as she listened to Kusari's arguement towards Sora and Kusari. She held onto hope, the word that gave those who beleived in it strength. She felt it once, but only to have her hope crash down in front of her and shatter to the harsh bitter word of reality.

Their faces flashed in her mind as the word rang through her mind. Hope? Did they all believe I would save them? How many had their hope dashed because I wasn't strong enough... her eyes kept her torment hidden behind fading teal eyes. They looked towards Sora and Kusari as he approached the woman, offering his own assistance to her. They had been invited in, so why weren't her legs working? Was it the site in front of her? Did it really bring back thoughts that froze her in place? Was it the mere shock of seeing Kusari offer his aid? No... it couldn't be that simple. She analyzed the situation further.

It was odd, having seen Sora do her best to return the respected bow. Nakamura lifted her hair from the ground, tossing it over her back with a quick roll of her head. As her head rolled, she viewed Kaida. Yes... it was her. A soft smirk creased the left corner of her lips. She must have forgotten the battles back at Yuki. Then again, one tends to forget things if they over-exhert themselves.

"Come on Kaida. We've been invited inside. We shouldn't be rude." she said, as if mentally stabbing herself with a kunai to get her legs working again. Her eyes stared at Sora, something told her she knew more about Nakamura then she knew herself. She walked behind Kusari and Sora, her footsteps barely making a sound with each step. She too, would soon follow in and listen to what Sora would have to tell them of what happened in the Leaf Village.

Day 03, early afternoon

((Sora and the group from Taki here will also remain in Day 03 afternoon even with the rest of the village advancing to night / Day 04.))

Sora left the guests momentarily to seat themselves while she advanced to the kitchens, wondering briefly where the tea grinder went. Ah, there it was. Now, one may wonder why the Hyuuga clan still kept such an antique device around. The answer was simple: it wasn't just because of strict observance on tradition but tea made the proper way was much more delicious than tea carelessly left for a machine to brew. Sora fumbled around, searching for the best tea and frowned slightly upon discovering one of the children thought it was fun to raid the kitchens...apparently having tore off all the labels on which tea was which.

So instead, the old Hyuuga settled for opening each lovely decorated cylindrical box. Quite experienced in herbology, she had no trouble discerning the tea one from another by the shape of the well-dried leaves. Sora made a mental note to herself to return later so she could label all the boxes again, this time with ink onto the boxes.

But tea needed good deserts. So Sora tried heating up the buns on the stove. The first step was simple, filling the bottom of a pan with some water before placing the bun on a metal rack that went in the pan. Except she forgot about the paper still attached to the buns' rear ends and with an alarmed cry, realized the buns burst aflame. So much for experimental cooking. One thing certainly never changed: even at the ripe age of 84, Sora was still a kitchen hazard.

" Yes naka-chan sensei." Kaida stated timidly, the frozen tear still glistened in it's place and she tried to slip one of her tiny hands into Nakamura's as it seemed Kusari was busy being helpful to the small old woman. She had steped back from her excitable friendly self and was feeling small and timid again. Wahotts was staying close so she would still feel safe but for some reason he was only so much help, Kaida was seeking support of the human variety, after all wathotts was the little pup she protected when he was young, Nakamura was her teacher and Kusari her borther that she some times revered like one does a legend among mankind...

Wahotts followed behind the others staying close behind Kaida senseing her unease but not knowing what else he could do for her, the hand she was not trying to sneak int nakamura's he nodged with his head and nose, esentially useing her hand to pet himself until she gave in and wih that hand continued to stroke him and scratch behind his ear absentmindedly if for no reason other than to satasfy him. He could sense that it still made her feel a little better.

Kusari took the groceries from the woman and followed her lead to her home entering the door behind her and placeing them on a table in the kitchen. He had to constantly duck his head to get in and out of doors and was hunched over in hte place. One of his stature was not often in the residences of others save the large offices and hallways of kage offices of Nakamura, though he generally stuck to being out of doors. He stepped out of the kitchen quickly so as to be out of the way and stood beside a table. Again left to his own thoughts. He too was curious about what more this woman had to speak of and what more she could tell them, or atleast Nakamura, of her history, after all He was sure they were not here to argue about the course of action to be taken by these children.... or perhaps they were... maybe that was the real reason for them being here now, perhaps it was time to debate what to do about them...and if that was the case...what would he do, take the path of those before him that lead to his present life, or band with them bringing to life the fears and nightmares of those who had attempted to stop them by killing him...Kusari was unsure but neither sounded appealing to him...

((Nyame and Cres follow normal village time while Sora and the guests remain in early/mid afternoon.))

If Cres hadn't known more, the child would have probably thought the Hyuuga clan was very religious. That wasn't quite the case. Their estate, like the founding Senju clan's, may resemble like that of great ancient temples but the reasons lay more in that the Senju and Hyuuga clans were quite traditional families. Uchiha would've counted among the group, of course, but then again...considering that most of the Uchiha chose to join their head of family in Oto, not many remained in Konoha. Anyways, back to the main point.

At a first glance, the Hyuuga estate seemed to be an elegant structure of Heian era buildings, glided curved redwood-tiled roofs and all...but the sense of sanctity and strictness of law and order was much stronger here in the Hyuuga complex rather than the Senju's. It was beautiful, of course, from the elegant spacious courtyard to the pond with swimming goldfishes and lotuses... Carved bridges extended over the pond to connect different portions of the estate together.

The estate was built in a sun-shaped structure, so the actual Hyuuga village would be further from the residential areas. There was a clan dojo, only Cres will be able to tell because of a sudden earth-shaking noise and the middle of the roof to that particular building suddenly exploding. However, since nobody flew out...assumably, both sides of the sparring match were using the same technique Nyame stopped and stared thoughtfully at the dojo. "I’ll pretend I didn’t see this...someone else can go yell today..."

"Nyame I'm prepared to begin my training !" His yell for the Hyuuga woman seemed to go unnoticed as it echoed through vacant halls of the household. It was apparent that the majority residents in the household had either defected from the clan or had been killed in the past two years under the reign of an unpopular ruler. Even so he knew Nyame was confined within these walls as a clan elder ; still young but called an elder. It wasn't long before he put the search on hiatus ,and went back to his normal schedule...around the clock workouts.
With or without Nyame he was going to pickup on his study of the handseals. He predicted that it would only take him another session with all twelve seals to consider them in his memory starting with the first.

An insignificant setback on his part ; one misplaced handseal didn't affect his progression with them so he continued on. He observed the intricate movements of his hands to make the seal ; to excel with his mastery of this particular seal he did it fairly quick making few other actions than what was needed to be done. Even with this success his stoic expression was unaltered. Leaving an uninterested Academy student finishing up his study of the handseals ;meanwhile doing exceptional job with them.

There was without a doubt an entity with relations to his current endeavor causing him to make these consistent mistakes on the handseals. Evidently he came to the conclusion that it was Nyame ; the missing clan elder prolonging his studies. So to put an end to these mistakes he turned his formerly physical activity into something mental. He proceeded to a vacant space gathering a sheet of rice paper ,and a writing tool. He then went on to draw a series of angles and creases.
His solution to his mistake consistency was to not physically work on the handseals ,but to draw them out simply from memory.

Handseals
The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. So I set them to learning all twelve. The rules are as follows: Roll 1d20 for each seal, one at a time. They must get a 12 or higher in order to correctly perform a seal. Each seal must be performed once correctly before being learned. Use the formula: [1d20 + Int Mod. = (#)].
DC: 12
Total Seals Learned: 1/12

Unsurprisingly his transitional plan worked undeniably putting an end to a series of unfortunate seals. After his the bird seal was fully drawn out he continued on to the boar. Making numerous vertical lines to the point where they resembled to partial fists forced downward. He was actually amused by his raw artistry not only because it was a decent artwork, but because he had never actually shown interest in the field of art,but now that he subdued it for training purposes he found was a fine artist.

((Hey Ment...please put in the lesson information... The exact format as it shows in the Academy's first post, the syllabus. The DC, how many seals you completed so far (but do it as with one post has the roll and the next post shows the accumulative results along with the roll for the next attempt and so on). xP

Nyame showed Cres to a guest room, and left the child to take care of herself before going to sleep. After she herself bathed and unbounded and brushed through her hair, she decided to head to the library for some light reading...
"Nyame I'm prepared to begin my training!" Nyame sighed. So much for some light reading... Sometimes, Nyame really wondered why she had to be the one overworked like a mule. Clan duties, medical assistance, smithing... She must've really angered Kami-sama in her previous life. At least that was the only logical explanation her mind offered. Tired... She thought, a bit unhappily. But duty was duty...

"What is it?" She asked briskly. "Are you trying to wake the whole compound at this ungodly hour?" Nyame had a point, though it was a bit of an unfair statement. Though it was 'light's-out' time according to the Elders' rules, most of the compound was allowed to stay up later: particularly the Chuunin and older shinobi, who have to catch up on reading and Jutsu studying when they couldn't do so in the morning due to an influx of missions. Konoha was, frankly, understaffed at this time, with half of the village off in Iwa, and so the remaining shinobi had to take more missions than norm.

If Nyame was surprised that it was an Academy Student, or more specifically one due to go to the Academy the following term, who called her, her face betrayed nothing. "Ohayo, Kenji-kun." She said evenly. Despite herself, Nyame couldn't help the small smile that crept into her pretty features. "Excited to go to the Academy, I see. But..." A soft pause and Nyame seemed thoughtful. "With the Genin Exams this week, the next semester doesn't start for a while."

Nyame was strange, compared to the other Elders. Unlike the other Elders, save for the former and current head of family, and Sora-sama, she was never one to be so stringent on children to the point that their very health begins collapsing. In fact, Nyame shared in Yokou-hime's conviction that the best way to cultivate the abilities of children was to teach them self-pace, most importantly, along with Academy basics. Hyuuga clan also had their children study anatomy and the basic medical arts, but that was another story...

People always stereotyped the clans of the Konoha twelve as prodigious... On one hand, it is true that both do produce many geniuses with the generation, however...Nyame knew another facet: the hard work and effort many puts into their training, to the point where what they do seems like effortless grace. She knew better: it was not mere effortless grace but the fruitation of constant self-discipline and hard work. It was almost sad: she could even daresay the children were unfortunate to be born into ancient families, it would mean forfeiting their childhood. Even for the born prodigies...it made no difference. In fact, they'll be carted to the Academy even sooner, to begin their shinobi career...

She had to admit it was a bit of a strange setting for training, in the open halls that crossed through the estate, connecting different parts of the compound. However, it was nice out tonight... The soft spring air and silvery moonlight. Yokou knocked once, gently, on the quarters they were closest to. A pause, and the screen door slid open. The occupant seemed surprised at first that an Elder would visit her this late but after a short exchange of pleasantries, Nyame curtsied, a slight elegant sinking, thanking the other, a middle-aged Hyuuga woman, for two tatami mats.

Nyame hadn't really minded, sitting directly on the floor or not, since she was wearing her a simple sleeping robe, but they say old habits die hard. She took her seat, in lotus position, on one of the mats and quietly watched the younger Hyuuga attempt to learn the seals.

He was continuing on with his artwork with every last bit of attention moving towards this little handseal session. With his stoic disposition still plastered on his face he did not acknowledge Nyame through sight , but instead through a small reply "Nyame-Dono it may seem out of term ..even at this hour I desire your service so I will not have spend an entire semester with terms and subjects that were imported to me by you yourself years prior to this very moment. ". He continued on with the third seal ; drawing out to intersecting columns which were soon made out to be hands. After another moment of adding depth it was made out the the columns were placed above and below eachother.
After a small time period he had drawn out the dog seal.

Nyame frowned slightly at the child's carefully phrased words. Goodness, it was nighttime...this was hardly the typical classroom setting... "If so you wish." She replied simply. If Kenji would need any help, he would ask. For a moment, Nyame briefly wished she had something to read with her but then decided meditation too was fine. Closing her eyes, Nyame focused and centered in on her breathing, keeping in mind the calm and allowing her spirit to ignore the earthly flow for the moment, and join in with the forces of nature. The gentle spring wind, the distant singing of nightingales... The slightest rustling of the budding leaves of trees. And this particular section of the compound bordered their lovely water gardens (reference: will have a pic soon), the occasional wind sifting through the grove of blooming sakura trees every now and then blew a snow-white petal or two, that would land near Nyame, or onto her exposed palms.

Unfortunately his success had ended ;he went into a small bit of puzzlement. Why had the method failed when it had been working flawlessly until now. He cast a look at his drawing it looked as though a mix between the two prior seals. Even so he had the picture of the seal firmly planted in is mind ; It didn't take long for the enigma to be solved. A certain elder was nearby thus raising suspicions on how this turn of luck had actually happened. He exhaled a rather disappointed breath ;he couldn't simply dismiss a clan elder it was against his nindo to do such a thing to someone with a higher place in the world. As an extra he had just persistently summoned her to his aid.
Suddenly he became amused by his situation at hand .Therfore put his left palm over his lips ; concentrating on the situation which was becoming more and more entertaining.

Meanwhile he began to make a few adjustments to the drawing. This was possibly the only way he could get it done as opposed to redoing it where a certain elder would hang on his attention.

The sudden decrescendo in the younger Hyuuga's chakra levels told Nyame all she needed to know. Simply, her presence alone was disturbing her junior's confidence... Something quite normal, in fact. Most of the Elders after all had gone out of their way to establish the fact: don't mess with them or you'll regret it. Not that she would ask her suspicion aloud to the child, however. After a long moment, Nyame got up. "I'll be off to the library...to get extra copies of the Academy scrolls for you. If you finish the handseals by then, Kenji-kun, proceed to chakra burning. But stay in the area." Not that she couldn't find him around with Byakugan, but this would save time and make arrangements more convenient...

He had made the drawing a a close look alike to the handseal ,but his problem was still close by. All the way up until she departed from the scene and left a stoic 12 year old Hyuuga boy to do his work ;with her only orders being 'proceed to chakra burning'. A well picked exercise for him to do on her part. After the elder had officially taken their leave he exhaled a sigh of relief now becoming tunnel visioned on his work.

The next seal was relatively easy after a number of intersecting curves his art piece will have been finished. So that was precisely his aim ; within a few prolonged minutes he finished his artwork.

To him the seal was slightly off so he carried on with it altering it's deformations. Soon enough casting a look across the room to clarify the presence of any other being. In the end no one was present ,and he carried on with his work. He wouldn't have to do things like this if he had already activated his Byakugan ;not that he wasn't already feverishly studying activation methods. He believed he was getting closer and closer to finding the key which would unlock the Byakugan which was hidden in his genetics.

Speaking of which he would have to ask Nyame if she had any relevant knowledge on the subject. On a side note her presence would only trigger his seals to be further deformed ; a sad fact really. through previous circumstances he couldn't even have his sensei in the room without his skills imploding.
