The horse boy drew back to give her a bright smile, tail swishing, "Its alright, I am glad that I was able to help." He said, turning his ears towards the entrance to the cave before he turned his head in that direction. He gave a little smile, "The sun is back."
He got up to his feet and held his hands out to Damaris, offering her help up, "Do you want to go back out and see? Or we can go and search the cave, it looks interesting. Who knows what sort of treasures might be in such a place." He murmured.
Ellie looked over at her boy, looking a little curious about the whole 'treasure' thing. She looked down into the cave, wondering if anything might have been left behind. Not many dragons would leave things behind unless they had to leave in a hurry. Hmm...

"...Alright." Damaris said softly. She was now more embaressed than anything and didn't quite know how to act. Valens had been kind, and compasionate towards her while the storm was raging outside. She figured that it might be best if she were to take a walk around to dry off a bit, and incase of another sudden bout of april showers.
She sheepishly took Valens hand and got up with his help. This boy had seen more of her inner quirks and fears than most of her other friends. She wasn't sure if this was going to be grounds for a good friendship, or if it might back fire on her later.
Red was still rather shocked by Damaris' reaction and sat there bewildered. He was trying to make sense of it in his mind, but it was a hard thing for the wyrmling to do.

Valens helped the girl easily to her feet, glad that his strength could be useful from time to time aside from helping his mother rearrange furniture. Without thinking he kept hold of the hand that she'd given him and led the way over to the entrance to the cave.
Everything outside looked rather neat, the sun was hanging in just such a way that it cast a rainbow over the sky and made all the drops of rain that clung to everything sparkle. Not that Valens would voice his observations out loud since it sounded a bit girly.
Ellie rose to her feet, trotting a few steps deeper into the cave, eyes narrowing just a little as if she were trying to look through the darkness. She couldn't see anything sparkle in the darkness which meant that the likelihood that some treasure was here was slim.
To bad. She turned quickly to follow after her boy as he started out of the cave with Damaris.

Damaris followed him to the entrance. She kept her head down until they got there. Once she saw the bright crisp sky, adorned with the colorful bands in the sky her face lifted back up as she smiled and gazed at the scene.
Damaris' eyes scanned over the view and then to Valens. He looked happy, kind, he wasn't acting all 'better than you' or like she was some sort of freak. He was actually just being genuinely kind.
She noticed he was still holding her hand and she started to feel a little funny. She wasn't sure why she felt so odd, but it wasn't a bad feeling so she didn't mind.

Valens gave a sound of delight as something clicked somewhere in his brain and he turned to look over at Damaris, "You know with the rainbow and couple remaining clouds it would make your sun drawing your gonna do look pretty neat." He told her as if just recalling that she had said she was planning on drawing the sunset.
He was rather interested in art, it wasn't something that he understood and he couldn't draw to save his life but seeing other people do it always amazed him. He found himself wondering if he would be allowed to watch as she drew her sun picture.

"Yeah, you're right." Damaris agreed just remembering about her plans. She quickly scooped up her sketch book and utensils before heading toward the entrance of the cave again. She sat down against the wall and flipped to a blank page in her book and pulled out her colored pencils.
As she got going on it, it wasn't hard to tell that she had some definate talent. Of course she wasn't Picaso or Rembrant, but for a pre-teen, she was pretty darn good.
A lot of the time she wouldnt let people watch her while she did her art. However she felt that Valens had been so kind to her that it would seem rude not to let him watch if he wanted to.

The horse boy happily sat down near to Damaris, leaning closer so that he could watch her produce art. It was amazing that such things could come from a pencil which he'd only ever used to take notes during class and even then his notes were pretty messy. He did his best to keep from asking a million questions of her because he didn't want to break her concentration. He did look like he had a few brewing in his mind from the look in his eyes and the way his ears were swishing forwards and backwards.

Damaris took her time and tried to put it out of her mind that her every stroke was being watched. She was just a little unnerved when some one watched her draw. Valens didn't seem like some one who would critique her work though so she made up her mind that it didn't much matter.
It probably took her a good hour or so to really get all the details finished but she was sure to get down the multicolored sky and rainbow first before it disappeared. She even went so far as to imitating the sheen of the dew from the rain.
"There." She said finally becoming satisfied with it and putting her pencils down.

Valens had done his best to keep still and to watch, he'd done his best really but he wasn't one that was able to sit still for long periods of time without having something to do. It was a shame he'd not brought his naginata with him, he could have practiced with it. He'd ended up finding some flat rocks to skip on the water, when that got dull other rocks the bigger then better since they made huge splashes, and then he was off to climb a tree or two. Between all of the random things he was doing he always stopped by to peek in on how Damaris was doing, how her work was coming along.
He was coming back from one of his tree climbing attempts when he heard her say 'there' and peeked over her shoulder to see her picture. Needless to say he was in awe, "Wow! Damaris that is so amazing!" He said, his tail swishing rapidly behind him in delight. She had made it look so pretty and so very like the scene she had been looking at.

"Thanks." She replied with a bit of a giggle standing herself up. "Here." She said as she carefully tore it out of her sketchbook, "You can have it if you want." She said handing the picture to Valens with a smile. The boy had been so nice to him, it was the least she could do.
Red was asleep still in his spot further back in the cave, you could tell it was him because of the rather deep snoring and random clawing at the ground. He was a fairly peculiar dragon.

Valens eyes went wide as he was handed the picture before he looked it over, "Wow! Thank you so much!" He murmured looking completely surprised and happy over the gift that he had been given. He looked over at Damaris, "This is a great present!"

"Heh, I'm glad you like it." Damaris said feeling proud that he apparently liked her picture. "So do you think we should start to head back now? My dad should probably have dinner ready soon and he'd get upset if I were late." She said looking out at the sunset and wondering just what time it was.
She remembered that she had to help Valens navigate his way out of the forest. It wasn't much trouble at all, especially since the boy seemed so nice. Damaris gathered up her things and went to nudge Red with her foot, "C'mon lazy bones, time to get going." Damaris said sticking her tongue at the dragon playfully.
Red mumbled a bit but lumbered to his feet, he looked out of the mouth of the cave and noticed it was dusk. The first thing that came to his mind was dinner; he had no qualms with leaving now.

Valens looked up at the sky before giving a nod, "Yeah, my Mom might worry if I get home later then is normal for me." He said, giving her a smile. He was already making plans for a frame to keep the picture safe once he got it home. Until he would have to care for it carefully.
He turned to look over at his dragon, "Come on Ellie, Damaris is gonna lead us out of the forest! Then we can make our way home."
Ellie nodded, knowing that 'we' meant 'her' in that she would lead the way home. She didn't mind though, after all he'd done really well in this meeting and had gotten along well with his new friend. She seemed really nice as well which was good.
She couldn't say to much either way about her dragon though, she couldn't fault him though he was Chromatic.

"Alright then, just follow me, it shouldn't take too long to get out of here." She said as she started to lead the way. Damaris took very ill known paths, ones that were over grown with brush and you wouldn't be able to find if you weren't looking for it. She had obviously been exploring here for a while.
Damaris led the others out of the forest, stopping and making sure that they were behind her every so often.
Red made his way ahead of even Damaris, it was his privilege to be in the lead, he was a blue dragon after all. Even if he was relying somewhat on Damaris for directions, he would never admit it.

Valens followed after her, seeming quite amazed that she was able to see this path and know where it was, then again he'd stopped using the paths a while ago which had been his first mistake. Had he stuck to the marked trails he might not have gotten so lost, then again he wouldn't have met up with Damaris either.
"Thanks again, its really nice of you to lead me out of here." He said, ears turning forward and a bright smile ever on his face.
Ellie watched the blue as he rushed on ahead of everyone else to lead their group before she fell into step behind the two kids so that she would better keep an eye on them. While the girl seemed to know where she was going her boy was prone to randomly wandering off.
