I really do wish Chris Cornell would ditch his sissy Audioslave-style vocals and go back to his grunge voice...

agreed, but there was a reason he ditched the grunge-style vox. they were doing permanent damage to his vocal cords, and if he were to continue/resume singing in that style, he would very soon be unable to sing at all, and barely able to talk

Reminds me of the new phone commercial where nobody understands a word Ozzy's saying. xd

not insulting... if i was insulting them i'd say something like "you're a pinko who is so stupid and naive that you actually think marxism would work. take a look around you, it's a corrupt system that fails in the real world. it only works on paper and any intelligent person realizes this." but i am not saying that, and i would not say it, because while marxism does have some (considerable) faults, it also has some merits. no, i am not insulting. merely finding humour in them. biggrin

mine has too, quite successfully. if you look at the so-called primitive tribes - even at ones as advanced as certain native american tribes - they functioned very well (and peacefully) within an anarchist system. just because it doesnt work in the world of the White Anglo-Saxon Protestant does not mean it has never or will never work talk2hand

But those tribes all had leaders of some sort, be it a chief or some sort of priest or shaman. There was someone making decisions for others, and there was always some level of government, however low it may be. And realistically, it won't work except in a post-apocalyptic society of holocaust survivors. Not the greatest of ways of life.

uh no, those tribes did not have "leaders" as we think of them. they had wise men - chiefs, medicine men, shamans, what have you - who provided advice, but their word was not law. you were free to dissent, and so long as you did not do anything to harm society (ie rape, assault, or kill someone) you were free to exist as you wished.

and i dont think it would require a nuclear holocaust to create a world in which this would work, but you are correct in that it only works in societies with smaller populations, and could never work in a world as highly globalized as ours is today. of course globalization destroys local cultures everywhere, so aside from my anarchist opinions of it, it is still a bad thing.

That we can agree on. 3nodding McDonalds, Wal-Mart, Christianity, the English language, technology, and crappy t-shirts should not exist in certain areas. I loved visiting Ukraine, I never saw a single fast food restaurant or large store chain. whee

when did you visit? cuz from what i hear, they're there. of course, it could also be what part you visited - my friend was visiting larger cities, not so much the rural areas.

Right by the Black Sea, which we went yachting in. Not big cities, mostly suburbs. My dad said that nothing had changed since when he was growing up there, the buildings just look shittier. xd
