(( I loved this game, too. ^^ I wonder if I can get my hands on a ROM... ))
Alida tilted her head as she hit buttons, considering. That was odd. That red headed lady was the romantic interest? But they were turtles... well, humanoid turtles, and she'd met stranger people, so she supposed that was beside the point.
They followed the demanding arrow one last time, and suddenly the ground shook, a drill came through the floor. The door opened to reveal... a humanoid rhinoceros. This game was getting more and more bizarre by the minute, but she gamely made the purple-masked turtle attack the rhino, who unfairly had a machine gun of some sort.
It was a good thing the turtle-men had numbers, she thought, or that rhino would make off with their love interest for sure. She got hit by a stream of bullets, and she noted with a twinge that she was at half health already. She hoped that rhino would be beaten soon.
As she thought that, he started to blink red, rather ominously, and she wondered if she should look for cover, or keep attacking. She glanced over at Aru to see what he would do with his blue turtle.

Aru was a little worse for wares himself, he only had a quarter health left. He had gotten hit with a couple strings of bullets, and had finally made note to do lots of jumping attacks and get behind him as often as possible.
When the Rhino started blinking red, Aru didn't let up on his attacks. In some games, he noted to himself, his vision or character would blink red when it was close to dying. He hoped it was the same for this creature right now.. who's name he couldn't remember for the life of him.
Aru then accidentally got caught in another stream of bullets, causing his turtle to fall to the ground dead.
"Gah! That cheater, using a projectile weapon." Aru said as he crossed his arms, watching the count down flash on his side of the screen.

Seeing that Aru kept attacking, Alida did the same, but died shortly thereafter as well, as the rhino starting blinking red furiously.
She made a face at the screen as it counted down the seconds to their actual demise, but turned smiling at Aru, tilting her head to one side.
'That was fun!' she signed, 'my fingers are a little tired, though. I don't usually do so much clicking.'
Suddenly she remembered her drink, and looked around for it, locating it on the House of the Dead game and quickly retrieving it. It was still hot enough, thankfully.
She tucked in between her elbow and her body gently, and asked, 'Now what?' wondering if Aru wanted to play more games or if there was something else he'd like to do. Or if he had to be somewhere, really. She didn't want to be a bother.

Aru smirked and held up his hands, showing off small callouses on the end of his thumbs and forefingers.
"I play a lot of video games." he said, although when he thought about it, it made him sound like a nerd.
"When I'm not working out that is." Aru added, trying to sound more macho.
Aru glanced over at the other games, he didn't really feel like playing anything else.
"Is there anything you would like to do, Alida?"

Alida tilted her head, thinking, then asked, 'Would you like to go for a walk? If it's okay for you to leave now, I mean. You're not working, are you? And Kaz won't mind, will he?'
She didn't want to offend anyone that Aru was close to. It would be hard to spend time together if she felt like someone resented her for it. And she really did want to spend more time with Aru. She wished she hadn't waited so long to come back to the shop.

Aru shook his head.
"Nah, I don't have a job.. yet." Aru said, realizing he might sound like a loser for not having a job. "I was getting sick of hearing Kaz run his mouth anyways. We can go for a walk." Aru said, before he walked out of the arcade section of the store.
"Yuki, me and Alida are gonna go for a walk." He said while reaching over the counter and grabbing his fedora. He popped the hat on his head and then held his arm out in a gentlemanly manner.
"Shall we go, m'lady?" he said, giving a playful wink.

Alida didn't care one way or another if Aru had a job, but she was glad to hear that he could go. She waved with a smile to Yuki, and then linked her arm in his, with a silent little giggle.
Once they were outside, she looked around, wondering where they could walk to. Aside from the shop, she wasn't very familiar with this area. But she didn't really have a preference about where they went, either.
'Lead the way,' she signed, raising her hand off Aru's wrist while still keeping their arms linked.

Aru thought for a moment as they stood outside the center. Well.. He knew of a pet store about a mile away that his 'sister' of sorts worked at. He stepped forwardly and lightly pulled his arm forward, leading Alida down the side walk.
"Do you like animals?" He asked, tucking his free hand in his pocket. His fingers idly traced over the pack of cigarettes and lighter residing inside it, but he quickly left it alone and simply hooked his thumb in a belt loop.
He had a nasty habit of smoking as soon as he got outside, but he would refrain from doing so in Alida's company.
"One of my house mates works at one a little ways from here. She's probably on the clock right now."

Alida nodded and smiled brightly. She really did like animals, but they didn't have any at the house, other than Avery's lizards... and she didn't particularly adore those. They weren't bad, but they weren't as good as fuzzy creatures. And everything else was sentient, so they were more like friends than pets.
She brought up her outside hand and rested it on his bicep, effectively hugging his arm as they walked.
It was a relatively nice spring day, if a little breezy, and the wind pulled at their clothing and played with their hair as they walked. She almost wished she felt comfortable enough to take off her shawl... but she'd rather not deal with people staring because of her wings.
Alida thought about his house mate, and wondered if she was as nice as the rest of them had been so far. She asked Aru that, raising her hands from his arm to do so.

Aru blushed a little bit when Alida grabbed hold of his arm, his brown eyes idly trailing away to count cement tiles as they walked. The wind blew his hair every which away, which gave his free hand something to do. His hair purposefully fell in one eye, but when it started actually getting into the eye or brushing over towards the other, it got annoying.
"Ancelin's nice enough." He said as he brushed the hair back again. "She can get a little crazy if someone's really dirty.. But you don't have to worry about that. She's a bit of a neat freak." He said while he continued to lead his friend down the way.
"She actually moved out of the house a little while ago. She's younger than me, so it kinda feels a little weird having someone who's like a little sister leaving the house before me."

Alida nodded, happy to learn about his family, and filing that information away in her memory. She continued to hug his arm, a smile on her face that wouldn't go away.
She thought about what it would be like for Avery or Ritsu to move out before she did, and nodded in agreement. That would be a little odd. If Sybil moved out first, though, that would just be sad. She said so, and her smile turned rueful.
She hesitated before mentioning Deanna... she still wasn't sure what she thought about the new arrival, but she knew she was intimidated by the strong-willed, rebellious demon girl. She certainly didn't seem like someone who didn't belong in Hell...

Aru shrugged his head. Tenshi had stopped adopting long ago, and now all the children in the household accept for her biological sons where growing up. It seemed only natural that they part ways.. although the house did feel empty as more and more rooms emptied.
"Onii.. One of the children I grew up with, is currently living in an old shack Tenshi used to live in before her current house was built. I can still go see her whenever I want to.. But things between me and her are a little strained." Aru said with distaste.
"Sesshomaru often disappears for days on end in the woods, but when he comes back he still stays in the room Tenshi made for him. I doubt he'll ever pick up a job and get his own house, it's just not his style. Yumoa ran away years ago to live with her brother and cousin in a cave.. But they're wolves, so I guess it was just in their nature."
"When Gabriel left.. The house really lost a lot of it's unity." Aru frowned, gently squeezing Alida's arm as he remembered loosing the only father he ever knew. "Before, we where like a family even though we didn't say so.. Now it really does just feel like a lot of people who can tolerate each other living under the same roof." he said with a sigh. He turned the corner with his friend, before leading her a crossed the street. They where about halfway there now.

Alida looked up at Aru, concern on her face. She slid her hand down his arm to hold his hand, a silent gesture of comfort. The only 'father figure' she'd ever had was absent most of the time anyway, but she could kind of imagine...
She wasn't sure what to say, and didn't want to sound preachy. But, after a moment she said, 'I think... you are still more of a family than you realize, Aru,' then took hold of his hand again. She was thinking of the way easy way he acted with the people in the shop, even though she didn't have much of a guide to go by. She hoped she hadn't upset him.

Aru smiled softly and laced his fingers together with Alida's, before he paused at a street corner waiting for the light to change. "Yeah.. Maybe. I just hope Gabriel comes back someday so everything can be whole again. You wouldn't believe how dependent on him Tenshi is. Without him there, it's like her soul went with it and she's just an empty husk." Aru said. "She still has us though, we take care of her." he nodded before he walked acrossed the street. Three doors down from that block he paused and released Alida's hand, before he reached out and held open a glass and metal door. "Here's the place." he said with a bow, holding his arm out in a 'ladies first' sort of manor. Inside puppies barking and birds chirping could be heard, they where arriving when the store just started to get lively. Alida was disappointed he had let go of her hand, but she accepted it with only a little sigh. But, she did a little curtsy and smiled at him as she entered, waiting inside for him after.
Once they were inside, she looked around. The first thing she saw was the desk, but soon after, she saw the pens with the cats and dogs in them. It was obvious by how her face lit up that she wanted to go and see them, and she didn't even need to sign it to anyone.
