"And why would I want to do that?" he chuckled. He was glad that she wrapped her tail around him, for he did not want her to fall off. He was careful when he walked, making sure to not throw her off balance.
Flame laughed when she bopped him on the head and continued walking. "Isn't it?" he replied. "I love out-rages!"
He was now on a dirt path leading upwards, climbing up into the mountain top.

Koorie huffed. "You better be happy that I tolerate you, or I'd have Hydro Pumped your butt to next week...." She growled to him. Gently she rested her head on top of his, slightly enjoying the warmth of his mane. She wouldn't admit it out loud, but she was rather glad about this.
"You're so hard headed and difficult..." She muttered to him.

Flame just chuckled at her remark, "Next week huh? I've always wondered what time travel would be like. Wouldn't be very good wet though..."
He smiled when he felt her chin on his head as he continued carefully up the path. Soon dirt turned into rocks and the trees grew scarcer. He came to a little part in the cliff that jutted out a bit, over looking the valley below them. He smoothed away some rocks and then set Koorie down. The cliff was warm from the sun and it felt nice on Flame's hoof-like paws. He peered down at the valley and then smiled at Koorie. "What do you think?"

Koorie got herself comfortable on the cleared area and blinked, looking out over the valley. "Oh wow....." Her eyes were wide as she took in the view before her. It was absolutely breath taking, and she stayed silent for a while before finally speaking again. "This is... really something else, Flame."
Lifting a paw, she pointed it to a clump of trees. "Is that where the lake is...?"

Flame smiled, glad that she liked the view from the mountains. He gazed out at the view and then back at Koorie. "It really is something else isn't it..." he said, still smiling.
His gaze followed her paw to the clump of trees she was looking at. "Yeah, you can barely see it from all the trees," he laughed.

Koorie squinted, leaning herself forward a bit to see if she could see the lake through the trees. Sure enough, after a couple of seconds, the water shimmered and she was able to tell where the water was apart from the foliage around it.
She really should tell Flame 'thank you', but she felt so awkward saying it. She wasn't used to having someone being nice to her, and she certainly wasn't used to them carrying her up a mountain just to see this view.
"....Thank you...." She finally spoke out, shifting a bit.

Flame looked at Koorie for a moment and then responded. "You...don't have to thank me. But, You're welcome." He shifted a bit too and then said, "Thank you for coming up here with me. ...even if I did have to carry you." He chuckled a little and then continued to gaze out at the view. Noon had long passed, and the sun was beginning to retreat to the west, yet Flame's flames still blazed brightly.

Koorie said nothing for a while, watching as the sun started to fade, then looked up at her blazing companion. "I appreciate that you forced me to come up here...." She gave him a very small smile, feeling rather accepted for once.

Flames cheeks turned slightly red, as he was not expecting something like that from Koorie. And he really did like it when she smiled, even if it was just a little bit. He smiled back at her and said, "Well, I'm glad that you are here." He knew that if she hadn't been there, he would probably have watched the sun go down by himself.
The sun was now barely visible, but the moon and stars were shiningly brightly. Not as brightly as Flame, however.

Koorie said nothing for a long while, watching the stars. Slowly, her eyes grew heavy and she fell asleep. Her body leaned to one side, curling up into Flame as she slept. She was tired, and he was warm and comfortable.

Flame was also getting tired, but he stayed awake for a short while, watching over Koorie as she slept. He was glad that he could offer her some warmth. Soon he lied his head down, being careful not to move too much so that he wouldn't wake Koorie up, and then he also drifted to sleep. His flames dimmed as he slept, only giving off a soft glow now.

As the night grew old, the air around became colder. Koorie unconsciously huddled closer to Flame for his warmth. She was going to have quite the interesting wake up in the morning, since she'd awaken next to another; a first for her.

Flame raised his head up as she moved closer to him. He wondered weather he should stay by her side, or if he should take her back down the mountain, so that when she woke up she would be closer to her home and to the lake. But he didn't want to leave her. He decided to stay by her, so he lied his head back down and went back to sleep again.

Dawn came, and the birds chirped happily in the crisp morning air. Slowly, Koorie opened her eyes, blinking and looking around. 'Why am I warm... and what's this fuzzy soft thing I'm curled up on-' She stopped mid thought, her eyes wide. Slowly she turned her head to see the sleeping Flame.
"GAH!" She lept up to her feet, surprised and none too happy; she did not like morning surprises, and she was feel very dehydrated. She'd been away from the water for a bit too long.

Flame bolted awake when Koorie leaped up. Immediately his dimmed flames became vibrant again and he stood to his feet and looked at her for a moment. He wasn't surprised at her reaction, he had been expecting it. He didn't say anything, but just looked at her wondering how mad she would be at him. It didn't change the fact that he was glad he had stayed by her though. He couldn't have left her, no matter how mad she would be. It was against his nature.
