It looked like the clinic was finally rousing from its long slumber and like a beast out of hibernation, was ready to continue life. A thick stifle hung over the hospital air so that even Ayumi could have sensed that people's spirits dipped so low as to nearly break. Shinichi ran his eyes to Kane, who was stirring from his restorative sleep. The teenager's face didn't contain any hint of the optimism Shinichi had learned to expect, which contributed only more to the intangible wear that enveloped the fighters. And, there was Sukotto, dragging himself out of the clinic. Although the young man's gait showed his trademark determination, there was something in the Uchiha's bloodshot eyes that suggested that he was no more than a shell at the present moment.

Shinichi's face remained impassive as he listened to Aya, occasionally taking his swampy gaze off her to stare at the jasmine tea box. When her words reached his ears, it was as if the ANBU had turned to stone himself, every muscle frozen in place. The five petaled flower he had been gazing at suddenly became the only thing in sight, as if he was looking through a long tunnel growing longer by the second. The end became an obscure point on the other side of the earth, marked only by a golden-centered flower. "Stone..." Shinichi managed to croak before his feeble voice failed him. The world was blurring around him, except for the crystal clear jasmine flower which mocked him with its vibrant coloring. Drops of boiling water splashed onto the man's shaking hand and he pushed the pot back onto the stove before it could do anymore harm. Shinichi forced himself to take a breath, willing his mind to overcome the overwhelming part of himself that wanted to cease breathing, and met Aya's iridescent blue eyes with his own wide orbs.

She wasn't lying. By Kami-sama, the girl wasn't kidding... Shinichi feared opening his mouth to speak would release the abominable cluster in the back of his throat, spewing sickly green vomit. No, that couldn't be right. He was Shinichi, a man with a heart of steel, a man who would never be experiencing the disillusion he found himself in at that very moment. This had to be some sort of wild dream, one where he was 6 years old again and wanted to curl up into a ball until the world stopped twisting. A nightmare. None of this was real. Why else could he smell the man in question, that beautiful fragrance that spelled nothing but a neverending transcendent joy? Why else did time slow to a complete halt? What else could explain why any kind of logic suddenly convoluted itself until it became a laughingstock?

"Ichi will be-" The words slipped out of his mouth, empty syllables without a trace of meaning. A numb hand reached up by itself to brush a pale lock away from Aya's face. The rough-hewned fingers traced her silky skin for the briefest moment before slipping around her shoulder and down her back. Shinichi pressed the girl against him, soft pats on the back of her neck telling her to cry all she wanted. Cry because he was unable to do so. Cry because the action just made sense. There would be no shame in mourning. If he couldn't summon the bravado that would turn Ichi's... Ichi's... absence into a joke, the ANBU could not expect anyone else to. Shinichi held Aya firmly for fear that both their legs would give way otherwise. He dug deep into his throat, opening the tiniest airway to let the maelstrom of confusion settle so that it no longer was ripping him up. Bending his head towards her ear, Shinichi half whispered, half choked, "We'll find him... save him..." A swallow. Rocks hitting his stomach. "Things will be fine. Cry hard. There's nothing wrong with that, but cry only once. R-remember, Ichi... Ichi's mind is strong, stronger than anybody. He will not allow himself be lost." Shinichi was sure Aya could feel the ricochet inside his chest when he spoke his lover's name. Another swallow, this time of doubts. He released the girl and painstakingly knelt until their eyes were even. It was time he addressed her as a young woman. "Tenmoki Aya," Shinichi began. The man forced his face to return to a firm mask, though all his pain was revealed through the eye holes. "We will find our Kage-sama. However, I am not prepared to send our two remaining shinobi out against an entire nation. I will ask Sukotto for details regarding the Kage-sama's petrification and consult with Tenmoki-san for cures. Shimagakure needs to lie low for now. We stake more than one man's life if we act rashly." The ANBU nodded to reassure both of them. His stone mask softened and the man added, not forgetting that he was the one who will have to step up in the Kage-sama's absence, "I would like you to aid the wounded when you are composed. Then, tell everyone you see to gather at the Village center at dusk tonight. Do you understand, shinobi?" He would let her decide whether she wanted to tell those she met the crushing news.

Finishing his delicious fish onigiri Kane thought that it was about time to get up. He had a family to go back to after all, and other things to do. So he couldn't beat Roz. So what. He could train and get stronger. Life went on. He wanted to go home and see his mother and Hana-chan, and catch up. He'd only been gone for a week or so but it felt like months. He was still in somewhat of a daze, but his brain registered Shinichi and Aya sitting down to have tea, and Aya's voice floated over from the hall.

"...rescue Ichi?..."

It was at that moment that Kane's blood ran cold. What did she mean, rescue Ichi? He would have ran out and asked her exactly that, but his body refused to listen to him, and he moved like a slug to the door. Without the ooze because frankly that was kinda gross. As he got closer and closer to the exit of the ward room, Aya's voice got louder and louder. Turned to stone... Kane's hands slackened in his shock, and he would have dropped the plate of rice balls if he had been carrying it. Oh yeah, those rice balls.

In five swift steps he was back at his bed, and reached for the plate. He wouldn't let his mother's efforts go to waste. Was Ichi really turned to stone by those Orochi? At that rate, wouldn't Seshiro or that pirate guy know how to fix it? Questions swirled round Kane's head as he slowly approached them with that plate. Shinichi was talking now, and even he seemed shocked. Did he not know?! Well, now he did.

Kane's face had a strange expression as he sat down on a chair near them without being invited. Shinichi had just finished talking, and in a clear part of the misty haze that was Kane's mind right now he was wincing at the silence and awkwardness, and also at this great loss. He couldn't think of a Shimagakure without Uchiha Ichi, that man who had personally welcomed them into the island just a year ago.

"Is... that true?" he asked in a low voice, all the while pushing the plate of onigiri to them. He wanted to offer something, anything to help them and well this plate was the only thing he had at the moment. It was kind of sad he knew.

As the young man approached the building he looked back and saw Kazuma following him, hopefully he could keep himself out of trouble for at least today. The boy slowly pressed his hands against the double doors, the entrance to the clinic and forced them open just enough so Kazuma could follow in his footsteps. Seemed as though the patrons of the clinic were busy as ever with the shinobi coming home. Kana stopped in the middle of the room and looked around, seeing Shimagakures finest lining the hallway. "Woa..." Kana said with a small tremble in his voice. He cleared his throat and took a few steps towards Aya, Shinichi and Kane with a smile on his face.

The genin stood a few feet away from them, then dug his hands into the bag he had. Bearing an apple in one hand and an orange in the other to the two Shinobi warriors he said "Welcome back." Kana was oblivious to any bad news, he could only see the expressions on their war torn faces. He pressed the delicious fruits down on the table in front of them, surely they would be hungry after the long trek. Noticing the Onigiri rice balls on the table he felt a bit embarrassed, but they now had a variety to choose from. The young man pulled out his own chair along with one for his brother Kazuma.

"So... How are you all?" The red head said as his eyes rolled across the faces of his comrades. He looked into their eyes and could feel the sadness almost oozing out of them. Kana lowered his head a bit, maybe if he had been there... The boy shook his head, he didn't know the full extent of the damage done. In a more professional tone he said "Is there anything that I can do, Shinichi?"

A small hiccup from holding back the anguished sobs that were desperately trying to claw their way up her throat caused Aya to jolt suddenly when Shinichi brushed her pastel hair back from her face. Slowly, as if time had slowed down in her world, Shinichi pulled Aya against him. Her small body pressing gently against his as his arm went down to her upper back and gave three soft pats against her back. These small pats were like explosive lightning bolts breaking down the walls of a dam to allow the water to run and flood small innocent villages. Even before Shinichi spoke, the tears were streaming down Aya's face. As his hands stopped the patting and changed position to hold Aya tightly, the little girl fully pressed herself into the Anbu, burying her face as she cried silently.

When Shinichi began to speak, Aya barely listened. Just the sound of his voice and the jagged pattern to his words, cause Aya to cry a little more audibly. The cries were small, but they were still loud enough to be heard by anyone around. Just as she was in what she thought was the height of her weeping, Shinichi let go of her and looked at her face to face. She could not look up at him when he spoke her name at first. Trying to calm herself down, she hiccuped when he said that they would find Ichi. Her puffy reddened eyes looked up at him, when he said such a dispiriting word; 'However'.

As the words rolled from Shinichi's mouth with that stone apathetic look on his face, Aya couldn't help but feel an emotion that wasn't like her to boil; anger. She had felt anger towards Shinichi once before the war while they were training and now she was feeling it once again. It felt sick that they were talking like this about Ichi... The man who was like a father to Aya, a lover to Shinichi and a Hero to the entire village... The hiccups all stopped as Aya's body tensed up, especially in her jaw area as she looked past Shinichi while he gave his orders. Unwillingly, she nodded her head after him. Tears were still welling up in her eyes, but they ceased to fall now. There was a silence for a while, before Aya's small pink lips parted. "Hai," she said the single word as she absorbed his words fully.

Aya had paid much attention to anyone else coming or going while she and Shinichi spoke until Kane said something with his rice balls being held out. Staring at him with her large blue eyes for a few seconds, she didn't say anything to him before looking away as she turned her head to leave. The look in her eyes would tell Kane that what they were just speaking of was nothing but the truth.

While turning to leave, Aya met face to face with Kana. A warmth spread over her where she was turning cold. If Shinichi wasn't going to go search for Ichi, then they would! Grabbing Kana's hand, Aya's mood immediately changed. "Yea! You can help me, Kana-kun!" Aya chirped, as if by magic she had transformed back into her normal self. Giving Kana a little tug on his arm, the little Tenmoki girl tried to coax him out of the room. "C'mon! We'll round everyone up to the village center at sunset for Chichi-sensei," Aya told him with that bright smile on her face. She would continue to tug on his wrist until they were outside the clinic. Then, Aya would stop to make sure no one else was around before speaking once again...

Aya's face was red and raw, as though she had been crying. Her eyes puffy and bloodshot as he looked deep into her ocean blue eye's. Kana felt sorry for her, she had to have experienced something terrible to have made her this way. But, as he noticed this her expression went from gloom to happy in a split second. Kana exposed his pearly whites as he couldn't help but smile as he looked at her. Aya placed her smooth hand on his arm and tugged a bit, as she did this he smile and emerged from his chair. "Heh, alright. C'mon Kazuma lets go." Kana said as he looked back to his young brother. The young man grasped Kazuma by the shoulder and tugged him along. The three of them were like a long chain making they're way through the labyrinth of a clinic.

Once they reached the exterior of the clinic Kana took a deep breath of the fresh air, much better than the sickly air that stewed in the clinic with all the sickly people being held captive by Yuki and all of her minions. Aya was looking around as if she was making sure the coast was clear or searching for something she had lost. Kana's eyebrow quirked a bit and he placed his free hand on his chin, stroking in slowly. "Whats up with you Aya? Whats wrong?" The crimson haired shinobi said as he looked deep into her eyes once again. He placed his hand on her shoulder and awaited a response, what was making her act so silly! Kana looked over to his younger brother Kazuma, he knew that the young boy disliked Aya a bit and hated her mother with a passion. He gave a bland look to the boy, looking him up and down for a moment and hoping he wouldn't say something stupid.
PostPosted: Thu Aug 21, 2008 9:47 pm

Once Aya was sure the coast was clear, she heard Kana's ask her if something was wrong. Knowing that Kazuma was nearby, Aya tried to direct Kana a little ways away, so there was some distance between them and the younger Kun Kumo. Aya's cheerful face turned stern once again. It was the same stiffness she had when she was looking at Shinichi when he told her that they were not sending anyone back to Ichi. Her blue orbs still holding the warm tears within them gazed back into the unique iris of the Kun Kumo. "Kana," Aya started in a low whisper, but the way she spoke his name had a certain sound of urgency to it. "During the war with the Orochi's, Ichi-sensei faced up against their leader. In their battle, Ichi was turned to stone!" Aya whispered, breaking the news to to Kana in an almost desperate voice while she spoke quickly in her low voice. "Shinichi knows what happened. Ichi was trapped in the explosions that went off in the Orochi village. Sensei was petrified and buried in the ruins. He won't send anyone back to the rice country to get Ichi!" Aya told him leaning in closer and closer to Kana while she spoke. Her blue eyes were darting this way and that, clearly showing that she was upset and frenzied by Shinichi.

While Aya's hand held onto Kana's arm, she began to shake. Never had Aya experienced an adrenaline that hit her body due to pure anger. She was upset with Shinichi's decision to the point where she had lost faith in the Anbu she had once looked up to as a student in the Academy. Calming down to the point where she could gaze into Kana's eyes once again, Aya swallowed as hard as she could, her jaw tightened still just like when she was facing Shinichi. "The Rice country's army moved in the Orochi village and there's a chance they might capture Ichi before Shinichi sends out a squad to retrieve him. We gotta get there first!" she whispered, the tone of urgency clear in her voice. "I know we can sneak past them! We've snuck past clumsy soldiers before," Aya said, referring to their mission in the lightning country. It was true that they had done their fair share of sneaking around. The only reason they had been caught was due to their objective of sabotaging. They were merely retrieving something in this mission! Aya was sure they could do it effortlessly.

Standing in front of Kana, looking up to him, Aya hoped that he was reading her mind on what she was suggesting. Her body was no longer shaking as she gave him a cute smile, flashing those bright teeth at him. "I bet Ichi even has information on the Rice Country's army..." the pale haired girl hinted, knowing that there had to be some type of documents in the Kage's office that had some information about the country's military strength. Taking a step back, Aya's vibrant blue eyes were no longer tear filled with anger. She had missed Kana during the war more than she realized. It wasn't only charging into battle with someone familiar, strong and who worked well with her. It was the fact that she had missed out on someone who she could trust, someone who thought like her and someone she truly cared about. The Tenmoki girl knew that the Kun Kumo boy felt the same way about Ichi as she did. There was no way that her partner would back out on her idea... These thoughts made her smile even more. She moved her hand down from his arm to hold his hand, squeezing it tightly as she anxiously waited for him to say something in return.

The sweet white haired girl led the fiery headed boy away from Kazuma, and it seemed she wanted to talk business. Her sweet and happy disposition faded away quickly and was replaced with a firm and serious expression. Through elaborate crimson and verdant eyes the Kun’ Kumo gawked mindlessly into his counterparts deep blue eyes that seemed to draw him in. The genin was knocked out of his memorizing trance as her soft, sweet, and delicate voice chimed out to him. "Yes." He answered her quickly in a deep serious tone as he sensed the urgency of her message. Kana listened as she spoke in a hushed tone and delivered the debilitating news to the young man about his Sensei, Ichi, the man he cared so dearly for as a peer and who the young Kun’ Kumo almost considered a father. His head drooped severely; he cringed as the news sunk in, his fists balled in furious anger. If he had been there, would it have made a difference? Would he have been able to stop this from happening? Helped the invasion for to take from his work load?

All of these and an infinite number of other questions arose in the young shinobi’s mind. He quickly followed suit in Aya’s practices, his eyes filling up with tears. No, he couldn’t cry. Especially in front of Aya and his younger brother Kazuma, so he suppressed and used is tightly balled fists to wipe away the liquid from his eyes. It felt as though a small spark of fire was rapidly growing inside of him, engulfing the better half of him and burning it to miniscule ashes. The hate he felt inside of him at the moment was almost unbearable, he understood that he had other things assigned to him but why did fate have to be so cruel. But wait! By the way Aya was continuing with her explanation it almost sounded as though there was a glimmer of hope of saving the man that both Aya and Kana looked up to so dearly. His head flicked up as the worlds computed in his head, and he quickly came to understand it was all Shinichi’s fault that Ichi was not here with us today and wouldn’t in the near future.

The young genin looked down at the ground for a moment; all of this was quite a bit to take in at only a moments notice. Kana and Aya had been to the Rice country once before, but it was to aid not for personal matter. The very thought of the rice countries soldiers even laying a finger on the solidified Sensei made Kana furious. As her sentence went on he heard her plot and the words rang inside him for a few seconds. “We gotta get there first!” He heard over and over in the depths of his mind. His head flicked up again and Kana looked into her deep blue eyes once more and whispered barely audible to the human ear. “We will…” Kana nodded to her, it was true that they had snuck past those rice country bastards before, but it sounded as though they would be against a higher caliber of men this time around. “We will sneak past them once more…” Kana stared to say in a whisper and finally after a small pause said a bit louder. “For Ichi’s sake...” He had just now noticed Aya’s severe condition of trembling and it made him want to embrace her in his arm, but if they were going to pull this off they would have to think quickly.

The genin watched as Aya, who had moments ago been trembling like a small puppy in a hail storm, flashed her signature smile. He himself lightened up a bit, it seemed as though they had made plans for this adventure already. “Hmm… Right. We need to check there for documents and records first.” Kana said in a deep tone as he grasped Aya’s hand tightly. One thing was holding him back, Kazuma. What would happen to him if Kana just up and left like this. Kana knew Kazuma disliked it in Shimagakure, and there was a chance of Kazuma getting shipped back to the Kun’ Kumo capital, since both of those places didn’t appeal to the young man Kana figured he could get a fresh new start with him and Aya. “Alright, lets do this” Kana said as he smiled back to her as he started walking in the Office's direction.

Kazuma wasn't that small. He didn't need to be dragged around... Granted he was a bit distracted by all the activity in the small clinic but Kana could have just said something other as opposed to just dragging him out, besides he saw a certain face in there. Kane... What did it matter anyway? Kazuma never talked to him but still he had wanted to say something. It was too late now, dragged outside and then suddenly left there while they moved off and plotted. What the hell was the point of that? Though really he did no the point. Kana stopped being a big brother the moment he looked into that stupid granny haired girl's eyes. He hadn't always hated her in fact she'd been one of his few and first friends when she came here. That wasn't a fear trade for his brother and whether they noticed it or not they had the amazing ability to make the young Kumo disappear when they got together. It goes without saying that by now Kazuma's mood had deteriorated well beyond "annoyed". He walked over to the pair with a deceptively calm aura about him. He caught something about documents and doing it "first" which obviously meant they were leaving to do something... He didn't care, it was pretty much exactly what he'd figure would happen. So much for change...

[K: wait is Shinichi x ichi common knowledge in Shima? edit: OKAY EDITED ;d]

So it was true. That made sense, anyhow. Normally Shinichi would be close to Ichi during times like this. Kane couldn't even begin to imagine how the red-haired man was feeling, especially since he kept it all contained. Aya's look had expressed clearly the magnitude and intensity of her sorrow and Kane had absorbed it in mute shock. But Shinichi's emotions were hidden behind blank orbs and a neutral tone. Kane supposed that he was the one taking it the most lightly at the moment. These two people in front of him had known Ichi for a large part of their lives.

The sound of footsteps coming from the door caused his head to turn and Kane nodded at Kana, attempting a small smile. Ichi would be all right, he could (albeit unsurely) already imagine the legends they would tell about this man, coming back to life after being turned into stone. He'd be the first ever and because of his passion to help people, maybe not the last. He answered Kana's question with a low mutter, in the tone of that kind of chitchat that peters out after like three lines. "Been better," he said, and then he noticed Kazuma. But Aya was already getting ready to go and dragging Kana out with her. Meet at the village center in sunset, his brain vaguely registered as he processed the fact that Kazuma was there. When the hell had he returned?!

It wasn't like Kane's heart was thumping with pangs for his love or anything romantic like that. It was more of a 'let's catch up' sort of thing mixed with a very strong curiosity which made him get up and leave Shinichi all alone with 4 chairs surrounding him. Kane even forgot about his onigiri as he left with an "Excuse me" and a "See you at sunset" to Shinichi. There was something about Kazuma that just didn't look the same as what he'd been all those months ago, which made sense. People change all the time.

He hurried out of the clinic with relative ease. Kane had actually, come to think of it, stayed at the clinic pretty often compared to other people of his generation. That was again, quite sad, but Kane was used to his entire self being a little wimpy and not up to shape by now. God knows he'd berated himself for it all day. As he moved he could hear Kazuma's shout in the distance, and he could hear the words quite clearly too. Was he talking about Aya? Kane hurried and finally reached the trio, although he only had eyes for the angry younger boy. He felt sort of like a busybody when it came to Kana and Aya, but figured that if he didn't hear anything it was all good right? As long as they were OK and came out OK it didn't matter to Kane what they did. They had that hero complex like that.

Anyway, he focused on Kazuma and looked at him carefully, since he had only caught a glimpse of him before. His brain tried to think of something to say and Kane belatedly thought that he should have thought of this while he was exiting the clinic instead of how sad he was and how well he knew the place. Eventually, he settled for a "Long time no see, Kazuma," even though it came out with a little bit of uncertainty that he fervently hoped no one picked up on.

[Nah, its not common knowledge.]

It was like a strong ray of sunshine breaking through the clouds that were covering the sky as Kana perked up a tad to begin this adventure, this mission of high expectations. Just as Aya was taking her first steps towards the beginning of their mission a loud shrill voice of a young boy disrupted them. 'Kazuma,' Aya thought in her mind as she whipped around quickly. He was yelling so loud and causing such a scene, which was something that was not needed when she and Kana needed to be quiet and secretive. Her first reaction was to slap her hand across Kazuma's mouth and hold it there, so that he could not make a noise.

Aya didn't jump into her reflexes since the sight of Kane stopped her. Wouldn't it be suspicious if Aya was clamping Kazuma's mouth shut, which was a rather abnormal position for the little sweet Tenmoki girl to be in. Swallowing hard and stepping back, Aya flashed a cutesy smile towards Kane as her hand brushed up against Kana's wrist. While she turned to leave, Aya's blue eyes tried to catch Kana's. She was going ahead to the clinic. There was nothing she could do where Kazuma was concerned. The bond that the two had once shared and been broken long ago when Aya's mother began singling the boy out due to his bad behavior. The little Tenmoki girl's presence would only upset him further. Aya knew that Kana could talk Kazuma down...

"I'm off to gather up everyone! See you guys at sunset," Aya chirped with a few quick waves, hoping that Kana would meet her down by the shoreline at dusk. That way they would be able to get a clean escape from the village while everyone was in the village center listening to Shinichi's speech about Uchiha Ichi. Her feet moved quickly as she gave them all one last wave before running towards the Kage's office. Maybe Kane would be able to distract Kazuma to the point where Kana could follow after Aya to the Kage's office. No matter what, Aya was more than thankful for Kane's sudden appearance.

[Exit to Kage's Office.]

It was obvious that the white-haired girl was upset at not being able to chase after Ichi right away; Shinichi couldn't blame her for wanting to be reunited with the man whom she adored far more than he and her mother combined. What he hadn't expected was that Aya would take the news so well, allowing her emotions to flow free, then locking them away so she could concentrate on thinking rationally. He realised that between multitudes of missions and other foreign affairs, the man had gotten out of touch with the next generation, not being available enough to watch their children grow into loyal, dedicated shinobi. They were, after all, what comprised the village he loved so much. However, the ANBU had to consider that he had not undergone the rigorous brainwashing of his youth to babysit little kids. It was a sacrifice, a hefty one at that, but it made him better suited to bringing home the bacon for those he cared about. And so, Shinichi watched silently as Aya dragged her boyfriend to carry out his orders, unaware that his right hand had begun to shake as if he'd fallen in the frozen pond. The sight of Kana and Aya together, happy nonetheless, suddenly made the clinic walls close in on his throat, squeezing out any hope he might have had of sustaining a normal life. Shinichi clenched his jaw until each tooth stung and strode out of the clinic, his vision quickly blurring.

Aya had ignored him as expected but atleast she hadn't taken Kana with her. He had his brother for atleast a little while longer. He turned to his brother with a grin on his face that showed just how impressed he was, though he didnt' have anything to say after screaming at his big brothers girlfriend. Something would come up...

"Long time no see, Kazuma"

Kane had noticed him before he got dragged out and actually cared enough to come looking for him? "Oh... Hi." Was all he could really say. He just didn't know what else to say. It had been a long time since they had talked, he had wanted to talk to him but Kazuma just didn't know what to say, it was at the terribly awkward point and it was no one elses fault it had gotten there.

Kana's head snapped around to Kazuma as the boy yelled at the top of his lungs, saying something about not taking his brother anywhere or something like that. He looked back to Aya with an awkward expression on his face, and watched as she made her own expressions and left them. "Alright, see ya then." Kana said with a small nod, then turned to his brother and Kane. Kana came up behind Kazuma and placed his hand on his shoulder, looking over him to Kane. He cleared his throat for a moment and then said "Hey, sorry to interupt but Kazuma and I have something we need to attend to." He tried to say this in the most professional manor he could. With that done he led Kazuma away from Kane quickly and was heading in the direction of his house. Then he lowered his head to Kazuma's ear level and said something in quite a hushed tone.

"Hey, were getting away from this place. And were not going back home, were going somewhere new." Kana said with a small smile on his face, he knew that Kazuma would be glad to hear this, from the small talk that he had heard from the boy he dreaded both places. "So, I need you to go and pack up all of your clothes in a backpack and meet me down by the shoreline okay?" Kana said as he patted him on the back with a slight smile.

[short post of busyness sorry]

"Hey," Kane said, feeling the awkwardness between them. He saw that the boy had something to say, or at least wanted to say something, and patiently waited; but unfortunately it seemed that now was not the time and that again the big picture was more important. Kana seemed to have some sort of plan with Aya and Kazuma was involved. Well, at least he knew that Kazuma would be okay since Kana was a good big brother, but if they were doing something fishy somewhere alone with Kazuma wouldn't that be a little... weird, especially since Kazuma seemed to hate Aya now?

"Ah," he said with a nonplussed nod as Kana led Kazuma away. "Later." It would probably be ironic just how much later it would be. Anyway, Kane decided that since he was fine, could walk and talk and maybe fight, he should probably go home.

Again Kazuma found himself getting pulled around, obviously he wasn't meant to speak with Kane so he pushed the short exchange of words from his mind besides Kana seemed a little anxious. Was he going to run off with Aya? No... He wanted to take Kazuma with him and leave the village? He'd never though Kana would want to leave this place, he'd always seemed more at home here than well home. It was a little suspicious telling him to go and pack without saying where they were going or what they were doing but he had atleast said something to Kazuma and that had to mean he was telling the truth... Right?

"Oh ok... Don't leave without me!"
