[I'm going to watch Gokusen if this next roll doesn't pass D: My study leave starts tomorrow. I have loads of time tomorrow to continue anyway...]
Kane successfully crossed the next foot with no problems. However the usage of the singular form was the key thing here. Even for a beginner he knew he was going way too slow. But as he tried to increase his speed he slipped and it was all Kane could do to regain balance again. He stopped to consider his options. One, go slowly and count every step. However, that would sort of defeat the purpose of this exercise... he'd been asked to Run the Vines after all. But he doubted that he was able to run them... He couldn't even walk them without slipping and falling. Not for the first time that day Kane cursed life. He cursed it for making things so hard for him. It was probably a sign that he should stop training now and get home, but this thought didn't flash through Kane's mind. After a short period of self-emoisation, his vow once again came back to him and Kane grudgingly started to brisk walk the ropes again...

Although Kane had to slow down a couple of times, walking was going pretty well so far. He felt that his previous falls had only made him more aware of what could go wrong when he was walking. This was probably an analogy for life... but, before Kane could delve deeper into thought about it, he focused back onto the task at hand, whether out of an unwillingness to think or a tenacity to train.
He was definitely getting more used to walking the ropes now, figuratively and no. He found his thoughts, now free to wander about his mind due to the sense of security from his initial success, turning towards Hanabira, and that boy she'd spent the festival with. Nara Shinobu. Kane couldn't help worrying for Hanabira, just a little bit, and resolved to check out what this Shin kid was like. Well, after his mission he would anyway...

Kane's previously smooth run through the net halted for a scary moment as Kane misinterpreted a step and thought it longer than it actually was. The feeling of his foot coming into contact with something hard way before it was expected shocked him for a moment and he even thought that it could be a knot. However, since Kane's brain worked relatively slower than his body, he was balanced even before he looked down and realised that everything was all right. Kane grinned a rueful grin to himself. This taught him for daydreaming during training... if he thought about Shin during the mission, despite all his good intentions and brotherly love he'd probably be the first to be picked off. Those Orochi weren't the kindest of men, he'd heard. He wondered what Seshiro thought of the news...
He could go into a spiel about what he thought about the Orochi and his admitted ignorance of the whole affair, but he'd be daydreaming again and that was bad. Not breaking his rhythm, Kane tried to move his concentration back to balancing and yet moving quickly through the net.

It cost him a few extremely minor slips but Kane's full attention was now back on completing the course. He was more than halfway through already and intended to finish it without dropping - well, as little as he could anyway. Kane allowed himself a satisfied grin. He could barely feel the rocks by his waist and on his legs now. The human body was a wondrous, adaptable thing.
He kept a careful eye on his steps, arms always at the ready to spread out in case he ever lost his balance. He made sure that his steps were on as flat a terrain as possible with these vines and that there was also convenient places for the next step.

Kane was now on a roll, and boy was he happy! He was feeling the euphoria that he had felt earlier that day, when he had been learning the jutsu. The feeling of successfully moulding the chakra was divine and it was that rush that Kane realised that he had been craving all along, and was feeling now. His steps now had a practiced ease to them, although certainly not as good as one of say a jounin or even a chuunin. Kane couldn't hope to hold a candle next to them yet. But he knew that he was getting better in his own way and that soon... Soon, great things would happen. All these little trainings were like signposts pointing him in the right direction. Kane could see the end of the vines now, trailing off. It had been a rough start at first, but now he was almost finished. Kane willed himself not to lose concentration and finish off nicely.

[Haha I should have known that I'd jinx myself.. xp ]
Just as he thought that Kane tripped over a knot and was sent flying into the air. He found himself thinking wryly about karma and irony and all sorts of things like that, attributed with spirits and gods who had a horrible sense of humour. It would be pretty funny to make a guy fail after he'd just vowed to succeed, he granted, but it would also be pretty heartbreaking for the guy... He was falling forward now, he could see the tip of the vines and knew that his face was going to land on it if he didn't regain his balance now. If he truly wanted to finish with a bang, there was only one thing to do which would admittedly be pretty hard but Kane was willing to try. It couldn't get any worse than what he was doing now right?
Exhaling forcibly, Kane tried to bring his feet to the front. Now they felt like lead again, just when he needed them the most. But still, Kane tried... the whole moment was like in slow motion for him.

Unfortunately, Kane just couldn't do it. He fell, hopefully not so audibly, on his arms and stomach. Hey it wasn't his bum right? he thought wryly, mind turning over loopholes in his vow. Failures in training had a way of doing that to Kane... With a small sigh, he forced himself to his feet. It was kind of cheap to fall across the end of the course, so Kane backtraced a couple of feet. He had been doing so well too!
He felt that he didn't need to warm up again, having executed the moves perfectly for quite the amount of feet. If his body didn't remember it, he would just have to force it until it did. Kane lifted up a foot and brought it forward on his first step to the end.

It wasn't a perfect step. Kane stumbled for what seemed like the hundredth time that day, but it got the job done. He was now one step closer to his goal. And then a second step, then a third. He couldn't mess - well, it wasn't that he couldn't. Kane didn't want to mess up now and he wanted to prevent that with his own power. He slowed down a bit, to aid his balance, and took careful steps, though by no means baby steps like he had done earlier, way back in the beginning of the exercise. If he could finish this, he could start something else and get even stronger. This would be his motivation.

Maybe Kane's body was too tired or something, though, even if the fatigue hadn't made its way to the brain yet. Kane suddenly found that he couldn't control his body as well as he could before. He was almost about to fall when he suddenly caught himself and decided to take a short break before the end. He folded his arms and stood straight, putting his weight on his hips and leaning to a side. It wasn't the ideal resting position but it would work...

Seshiro took some time to rest his head and body and look at Kane training.. He hd found him weird since he saw him the first time but hehad to admit the guy seems to have Talents with Ninjutsu..yet not so much phisically.....
"Ooooouuuch"
Those where the only sounds heard from Seshiro every time Kane fell down ur stumbled on a vine. He was sitting on a big rock near the edge of the lagoon enjoying a cool breeze that seemed to be passing by.
" Hey Natamo-sensei.... what then? is this it before we go? or are we gonna train something else?.. i wouldnt mind a bit of sparring with Tangled boy there... good warm up id say.. since i couldnt put my Hands on the b*****d Naru."
He gave a half pleading smile towards Natamo hoping she would allow them to do so. it would be fun to practice with someone he hadnt fought with before.. it was always better to practice like that!

[It's not fun for Kane! He'll be owned! gonk ]
After a short rest Kane decided to move again. But just as he took a step a sudden pain shot across his midsection. Kane's hand immediately went to clutch at the throbbing section. But as quickly as it had come the pain disappeared. This was quite curious... and worrying. Or maybe it was just a side effect of having weights tied to his body. The extra strain placed on it would have been hard to endure and overcome.. and even if he had been enthusiastic it would have caught up to him eventually.

Natamo chuckled and rubbed her jaw, debating it. She would probably have to give Kane time to rest, maybe something to eat, but otherwise she didn't see any harm in a good spar...
"Sounds good to me, if Kane is up to it. It'll be an all out spar though - each to his strengths, which means almost anything is game except for strictly clan jutsu and techniques...go on Kane, pick your feet up higher!" Natamo tapped her chin thoughtfully, knowing it probably wasn't wise to do that, but it would train them both reasonably well. "We'll let Kane have a break too, maybe a snack, then we'll go from there." Natamo winked at Seshiro, adding, "You could always spar me, Orochi," she said with a chuckle.

[Kouri please try to prevent from leaving posts unedited like that in the future.. I know sometime we are in a hurry and stuff but not a while ago we had a problem with the students because they took to doing that a lot and it did not permit linear roleplay and interaction between character]
Seshiro swalloed a hard shot as he looked at Natamo when she spoked. His smile wa s a nervouse one as he began to sweat. Hi sflesh as white and soft as it was looked kind if like chikenskin.
" Um... yeah.. lets not do that again anytime soon ok? Ill just wit patiently for Kane to rest thank you very much!"
He closed his eyes as he broaden his mouth in a bigger smile bearing his poisonous fangs glitsening do to the sun still shining overhead..The beat up he had received earlier wasnt nice at all so he preffered to wait. He was definately a duelist... everytime he knew he was gonna spar he felt anxious to do it and eager to .. it was like a rush inside him.. yet he also didnt want to hurt anyone.. it was two feelings figthing inside him just like his alter ego Id and him. Is as if he wantedto constanytly test his ability with others.

Kane had not heard the mention having a spar with Seshiro and remained blissfully unaware. Well, not exactly blissful. It must have been the fatigue of the day and from overtraining and maybe the trauma was finally catching up to him even after his passing out on the day of the festival. That long sentence aptly described the feeling of all those things overwhelming him at once. This boy may have been trying to take on too many things to fulfill his obligations to himself, his village, his sister, his mother and the memory of his brother. Kane was beginning to realise that now, and figured that the best thing would be to go home after this and sleep. Hanabira would be at home too, he couldn't wait to have dinner. But first he had to finish this...
Natamo's shout from far away caught his attention, and it was just the encouragement he needed. Somewhere within himself Kane found the strength to continue on. Just a few feet to go...

The first step was the worst. Well, actually, Kane had heard that the second step was usually the worst... because after you took the first step you felt too tired to take another... but, after the second step a rhythm would establish itself. That was what Kane had heard, at any rate. He couldn't rely on Natamo's encouragements forever and so he had to find the strength from within himself. Kane sighed, why hadn't he taken up on her offer to do something mental? But he was now stuck here until he finished this exercise. Ah.. he could think of dinner. Yes. If he thought of dinner, steaming and lovely-smelling, it would take his mind off the fatigue and weight and hopefully make him finish the course without even realising.
