Shinichi had said he'd arrange for an apartment for Tomoko and Seiko and he had. There wasn't anyone around since the villagers had gone to the festival dinner tonight, so it wasn't hard for Tomoko to drag Dhan to the apartment without anyone noticing or making a fuss. The woman was also able to stop by the Clinic for a moment to grab some supplies. "Tomoko is going to bring DhanDhan's body back," the islander said as she laid the decaying body on the floor of the small apartment. "DhanDhan's soul went to Ikatsugi-Ago, so Tomoko will not be able to bring DhanDhan back... But Tomoko needs DhanDhan's body to live, so Ikatsugi-Ago can be kept under control," Tomoko explained to Seiko, knowing the boy didn't know anything about the weapon, Tomoko knew she would explain this next. "Ara~ DhanDhan needs lots of stitchingU~" Tomoko whined, knowing that this would take awhile. "Seiko-kun," Tomoko said as she handed the boy some needle and thread. "Let's beginu~" Tomoko said as she too began to stitch Dhan's innard's up and clean them of bugs and maggots. The smell was horrible, but it was something that needed to be done.

Tanu was up with the rise of the sun! Today was the day she would test as a genin. She was excited for the exams and slightly nervous since she didn't know what they would hold. Double-checking to make sure she had her kunai and her shuriken, Tanu strapped on her tan boots before heading out the door. Kana was gone now, taking up base in the Grass Country and Kazuma had left with him after the incident... The girl shook her head at what had happened, but knew her cousin had a change of heart just like she had. There was no doubt in her mind that Kazuma and Kana were training as hard as they could right now, especially with Aya around. Tanu had accepted Aya and grew to like her, especially after the power the Tenmoki genin had shown during the Meho war. Tanu still marveled at the skill and abilities she and Kana performed with one another. Truly, they were a team to look up to! With her mind all fired up, Tanu headed down to the second floor where Kiba and Shin's rooms were. "RAIKEN! NARA!" Tanu yelled as she pounded on both of their doors, making sure that they were awake. After their bump in their friendship, Tanu had gone back to calling Shin by his family name. The Kun 'Kumo girl didn't really see either of the boys as friends, but mere comrades and rivals. "You both better be up and getting your shoes on!" Tanu yelled at them, getting a little angered at the chance that they were still sleeping. "C'mon!" she yelled impatiently, banging on their doors once again almost threatening to knock them down. There was no doubt that everyone in the apartment complex could hear her shout, but she didn't care!

Kazuma left his three Kunai and five Shuriken stabbed into the back of the door on the apartment the Kumo's had been assigned, the only message left behind was his name carved in massive letters on the door.

"Nara!" a voice yelled into the light of morning, as Shin rolled over in his bed. Just recently he had moved into his new apartment, unpacking hadn't been his top priority, but there were only two boxes to unpack since the boy didn't have much personal belongings. Rolling over in his bed, his face met that of the sun. "Mffmmma," Shin groaned as he realized that he was so unlucky as to have a window right in front of bed that faced the east and the rising sun. The pounding on his door was consistent and made him rise out of bed. "I'm up!" Shin yelled towards his door as the banging became more violent. Even if it was too early to recognize the voice yelling at him, it was never a mistake to misplace that anger and impatient behavior towards anyone else save Tanu. Only bothering with brushing his teeth, Shin threw on his clothes and shoes and appeared in his door way, only to be hit in the face by a fist that was wielded by one of the strongest girls he ever met. "GAH!" Shin yelled in pain as he held his forehead. Normally, the hit would've landed on his chest since Tanu was almost a foot shorter than him, but he had been slouching since it was morning and the hit had made its mark. "Ouch!Ouch!Ouch!Ouch!" Shin whined as he stomped his foot on the ground.
Taking what was left of his dignity with him, Shin began to head down the stairs. "Awwwww," he continued to whine with each slow step he took down the stairs. "I'll wait downstairs," he said in a shriveled voice as tears threatened to fill up his eyes from the stinging sensation that was raping his nose. He was not prepared for the vulgar attack so early in the morning and as he walked out into the morning sun, the cool air and morning due hit his nostrils and calmed down the stinging sensation. Finally opening his chocolate brown eyes, Shin blinked several times and knew that he wasn't very awake. He would be standing before Natamo and Yuki for the genin exams and he knew that the two strongest women of the village wouldn't approve of his sleepy headed attitude. With his head slightly nodding to the side, Shin decided to do something to warm up his mind and body coordination.

Looking around with his half closed eyes, Shin didn't see anything that jumped out at him right away. He really didn't feel like standing up and stretching and he definitely didn't feel like practicing his techniques, even though he should if he was to show them to Tenmoki-sensei and Natamo-sensei today. With a hefty sigh, Shin leaned back against the apartment building while sitting on the stairs and completely closing his eyes. He just wanted to go back to sleep...and with that thought, he did. Not even realizing that he had drifted off to sleep, Shin's mind began to think of how the exam would go. He was sure that all three of them would pass. Kiba had the most skill as a shinobi with his sword skills, blacksmithing, techniques and all the other things the Raikens were trained in. Tanu would show off her taijutsu and strength along with her hot headed usage of her techniques. Then there would be Shin. The boy really wasn't skilled in much. He wasn't terrible at everything, but he wasn't that good either.
Before he could be scolded for his failure in his dreamworld, Shin realized that he had drifted off and opened his eyes slowly. He squinted them together tightly and rubbed the inside of his eye with the ball of his fist. There were crusty clumps sitting on the inside of his eye and he brushed them away as best as he could. He had learned from Hanabira that the reason you get crusty spots on your eye in the morning is that your eye was cleaning itself while you were sleeping and that crusty stuff was the dirt you had gotten in your eye during the day. Hanabira had been full of fun information and Shin always enjoyed talking with her. Over the last couple of years she had become a little more brighter and much more talkative towards him. She was still the same old shy Hanabira around everyone else, but she had warmed up to Shin so much that the boy had fallen for her.

With his eyes closing down on him, Shin began to think about the last day he had spent with Hanabira. It had been the day before Kane left for the chunin exams. The older brother was helping the girl get the shop set up for his departure and for spring. There was so much cleaning to be done and new arrangement for flowers, that Shin had offered a helping hand to the small family. Sweeping and moving flower pots was all that Shin had been good for, since he wasn't very knowledgeable about the care taking of flowers. He remembered stopping several times and asking Kane what flowers were to be brought in and which pots were to be brought out. Kane was a patient man though and told Shin the same thing three times without being short. That was one of the reasons why Shin admired Kane so much. The young man was always able to keep his cool and charismatic persona even if the most stressful of situations. Shin knew that Kane was the perfect teacher for someone like him that didn't really understand things right away and struggle with everything. Kane was also a perfect teacher for someone like Tanu, a girl who got frustrated and threw fits immediately if she failed. Then Kane seemed like the perfect teacher for Kiba as well since he was bright-eyed yet cool and collective.
Indeed, Kane was a perfect match for a squad such as this. Shin tried to imagine what position Kane was in at this moment. He had traveled to the Earth Country, Shin's far away home. Maybe his parents were at the tournament, cheering on Shin's new village. The Nara knew that his uncle was there to watch the first generation of Shimagakure Shinobi compete. The whole scene taking place at the Earth Country seemed so far away and so surreal that Shin felt it was a dream... -A dream!? Once again, Shin opened his eyes as he realized that he had dazed off once again. "Uhhh," he sighed with a groan as he wiped a little bit of drool that had been forming in the corner of his mouth. It was just too early in the morning to be awake for him.

Clearing his throat, Shin leaned forward, drooping his head between his legs. He wasn't sure what was taking Tanu and Kiba so long, but he was sure that they would find him fast asleep on these steps in a few minutes if they didn't hurry up. The boy stared down at the ground between his feet and noticed how dry it was. Why was it that the dirt was dry, but he could smell the dew beading on the grass. The ground in the Earth Country was always damp and much darker than the dirt here in Shimagakure. The Earth Country had its deep caverns and high mountains, but it also had its beautiful oasises filled with beautiful flora and fauna. The countries that surrounded the Earthy country really reflected its large neighbor. The grass country had beautiful green fields of grass and the River country contained many forest with rivers and falls. Taking his finger to the sand below him, Shin traced and squiggle to represent a river. A nice cool river with fresh water would be a wonderful thing to have. Shin's skin always dried out here in the Shimagakurian sea. The salty water and air was new to the Nara when he first arrived, but now he was familiar with it and had grown tired.
Yes... very tired. Shin began to nod off once again with his head hanging between his legs. With salt water he thought of the strange characters it brought. The fisherman, the seaman and the pirates. Shin had never met a pirate before, but he had heard Shimagakure had housed one once before. The pirate had ducked out and away when he was asked to fight for Shimagakure. Shin didn't have much respect for pirates since his family would always tell him about the bandits of the sea. It reminded him of the theives that robbed caravans and remained unfaithful towards one another. Shin wasn't sure what type of person would be charmed by such a world as that, but it wasn't one for him. While he thought of pirates with their strange accents, Shin's body slumped more and more forward until his forehead hit the ground. Immediately springing up, Shin rubbed at his forehead to brush the dirt off.

Tanu grinned as she heard one of her male teammates speak up and announce that he was awake. The girl continued to pound on his door though, until it was opened and he appeared before her. "Raiken!" she yelled towards the other door while pounding on Shin's. Without even realizing or noticing, the door opened to the small apartment and Tanu's fist met Shin's face. "Haha!," Tanu laughed as the Nara whined and held his forehead while stomping the ground. "Don't be such a baby!" the girl teased him as he began to walk away from her. Each step the older boy took was loud and clumsy which aggravated Tanu. Furrowing her brow, she walked over to the edge of the stairs. "Be a little more enthusiastic!" Tanu ordered him more than encouraged him as she stood in front of the door to the apartment that had once been home to the Kun 'Kumo's. The girl really hadn't paid much attention to the old place since she had moved out to a smaller place. Kazuma had gone with Kana back to the mainland after the Meho War. It was probably the best choice since her cousin hadn't really done anything with himself and really couldn't after what had happened. She had already dwindled on the subject this morning and didn't feel like thinking of it again. Walking inside, Tanu peeked to make sure there wasn't a new occupant. As she did, something hit the wall before she fully opened the door. "How long has this been here?" Tanu asked herself as she noticed her cousin's name carved into the wood and three kunai along with five shuriken stabbed into the back of the door. Tanu pulled out the weapons as a question popped into her mind. "Why'd he leave these behind?" the girl wondered to herself.

Tanu's yells at him were almost nauseating as she encouraged him in her own little way to be more enthusiastic. "Its impossible," Shin mumbled to himself as he leaned back, so his head was resting up against the side of the apartment complex once again. His eyes lids were extremely heavy and weighing down on his eyes like bricks. There was no way to keep them open, so he let them slide shut again. Tapping his finger against his leg, Shin tried to keep a steady beat in order to keep himself awake. Quicker than expected, the tapping lost its steady beat to the point where Shin was merely twitching his hand as he thought hard about tapping. "Uhhh..." Shin groaned as his mind did a twirl on him and sent him back to dream land once again. The thoughts of keeping a steady beat reminded him of drums, which reminded him of nights around a camp fire, dancing and celebrating with his family. Gypsies had always been a close friend to the Nara family in the Earth Country.
The sounds of laughter, Shin's mother's whimsical flute and his father's steady and upbeat playing of the drums surrounded him as lovely women in silk and sheer fabrics danced around the glowing orange of a campfire. Shin was never very good at dancing, but he always did try his best. In his dream he was a little boy once again, beating on a log with a stick as he tried to mimic his father's beats, but was horribly off. One of the female dances picked him up and began dancing around with him. The toddler Shin giggled and clapped his hands happily as he was spun around. The sounds of playful fun music changed drastically to war drums as the Meho warriors marched in on the festive event. A grinning Meho warrior's face immediately took up all of Shin's view and jolted him away. "Ka-" Shin yelled as his heart jumped out of his chest. The boy had never had nightmares from the Meho attacks! Running his hand through his short hair, Shin felt nervous as he thought about his mother and father guiding caravans and then having to face a clan as notorious as the Meho's. His throat went dry and he became a little uneasy...

The boy with the dusty brown hair couldn't help but stand up and pace around the front entrance of the apartments. His thoughts weren't going in a straight path as he thought about his quick yet vivid dream. Were his parents ok? Of course they were! Shin had just received a letter from his mother and father last week! The letters did take a long to reach him though since he was out on a hidden and secretive island. Putting his hands in his pockets, Shin made a pace back to the steps, but then immediately turned around and took his hands out of his pockets. The nightmare had really kicked up his adrenaline a bit, but it had honestly sent him into a panic. The Meho war had been a life changing occurrence, but Shin had never had any nightmares about it till now. He had thrown up a few times after witnessing the acts that the Meho's had committed, but not a single nightmare. Rubbing his forehead and forcing himself to sit down, Shin tried to regain his calmness. The Meho's were a tribe located in the Sea Country and would have no business in the Earth Country. Shin was sure that the Meho's wouldn't even last a day in the Fire Country port!
Besides, the Hanton guards and grand wall that protected the Earth Country was hard enough to get past! You would need certain documentations and the such to make it past. No brute force could get through to Hanton. Thinking these things, Shin was once calm again and leaned back, sighing and sigh of relief. Turning around, he looked through the window of door he sat by and didn't see Tanu or Kiba. Remaining seated, he opened the door and peered upwards to the second floor. "Tanu? Kiba?" Shin called out to the two as he peered inside with his chocolate eyes waiting for a response. He hadn't heard Tanu's pounding and yelling, so he thought that perhaps something was up.

Holding his head in the door way for a few moments, Shin didn't hear any reply. He was leaned so far over in order to stick his head in the door way that he was practically lying down across the front steps to the apartment. The ground against his side and chest was extremely cool and comforting. 'Maybe I'll just rest my head...' Shin thought to himself as he placed his head against the ground. It was so cool and refreshing, that Shin did not bring it back up. 'I'll just lye here until one of them acknowledge my shouts...' Shin thought to himself as his brown eyes closed once again. His eyelids did not relieve any weight on his eyes and he felt as if he had been forced to close them. "Stay... Awake..." he mumbled to himself as his arm that was holding the door open limply fell to his side. Now he was the prop that held open the door. Quickly enough, Shin's breathing became heavier as he drifted into sleep. The thoughts of forcing himself to stay awake brought him to a scenario he had met more than once...
Shin was at the Academy in Shimagakure sitting in the small desks that the village had supplied them. Being tall and thin had its disadvantages when sitting in desks made for ten year olds. Tenmoki Yuki was at the head of the classroom in this dreamt up school day. She was going over medical knowledge which didn't interest Shin in the slightest. The boy had his elbow on his desk and chin resting in the palm of his hand as he looked around the room. There was Hanabira, his crush, staring at the board intently and taking notes. Shin had never had class with the girl, but he was sure that this was exactly how she acted; sitting up straight and properly, taking notes on every detail that Tenmoki blurted out. Hanabira was so proper and well disciplined. He was a little sad that the girl hadn't chosen to take up a squad with him, but rather go with Karite, Orika and Maya. Hanabira had sure chosen a rough squad to be a part of. Maya as a leader was a bit... awkward in the least. Shin had been a bit frightened of the teen when he first met her covered in blood, but after bonding with Karite, Shin felt he had a better understanding of all Tategami's and now wasn't frightened of the girl, but instead respected her...

Not only was Shin sleeping and dreaming on the front door of the shinobi apartments, but he was also day dreaming in his dream! A quick crack of a ruler against his desk, made Shin sit alert in his dream and also in real life. "Wha-" Shin started to exclaim, but quickly brought down his voice as he realized where he was. Wiping the side of his face, he felt a little bit of drool on the side of his mouth, but also some dirt from lying on the steps. He was glad that no one had found him passed out on the ground in front of the apartments, especially with drool trickling out the side of his mouth. "Kiba... Tanu..." Shin groaned as he tried to yell up the stairs once again for the other two testing genins. It was no use though, because his voice lacked any volume this time around. "Uh..." Shin groaned as he leaned his head up against the outside wall to the apartments. He really didn't want to stand up and walk up all those stairs to see what the two were up to. Shin tried to imagine what was going on and before he knew it, his eyes were closed once again as the darkness carried him off to dream land....
Tanu had most likely kicked down Kiba's door and marched into the apartment while Kiba lay on his bed only in his underwear. Tanu, having no shame, would not even blush at the sight of Kiba in his undies! She would grab the near naked boy off his bed and throw him out ordering him to brush his teeth and dress. He could see Tanu standing behind Kiba as he brushed his teeth saying that she brushed hers much more thoroughly. This would spark a rivalry between the two and they would begin brushing their teeth as hard as they could until their gums started to bleed. Then they would have a rinsing contest... Then Shin's dream took a strange direction and in the midst of their competitive acts, Kiba turned to Tanu. 'I've always admired your strong personality,' Kiba would say in a dreamy way as he took Tanu's hand. Tanu would change completely into a love struck girl. 'I've always wanted to compete against you, because I admire you, K-i-b-a-k-u-n,' she would say with starry eyes as she brushed his hand against her cheek. 'Tanu-chan,' 'Kiba-kun' they would say back and forth until they closed in closer and closer-

"AH!" Shin yelled outloud as he woke from his dream. "What the heck!?" he asked himself shaking his head and ruffling up his hair with both hands. As he tried to understand the strange dream, Shin stopped his panicking and looked ahead of him with a horrified face. What if... He thought to himself and instantly jumped to his feet. "KIBAAAAA!!!!!!!" Shin yelled in fear as he attempted to scramble to his feet. The boy got up and ran straight into the door. "Open!" he yelled at himself as he opened the door and hit the stairs right away... with his face. Instead of trying to coordinate his footsteps to walk up the stairs, Shin crawled up them in a hurry like a dog would. He felt as if he had to save Kiba! He must save his friend from falling for Tanu! It was a mistake! Their rivalry was not a facade that meant they liked each other! Panting all the way up the stairs, Shin collapsed at the top of the second floor. He took a moment and laid there with his stomach against the floor. Turning his head he glanced into the apartment with its door open and spotted Tanu. "Ah-" he started to Tanu. "I, uhm..." he stuttered, not really sure what to say to the girl after he was calling out Kiba's name from outside and then scrambling up the stairs like a dog before collapsing in front of her.
Sitting up yet remaining on the floor, Shin tried to smile towards the girl. "Did Kiba answer yet?" Shin asked innocently as if nothing had happened and he had not just acted in such a weird manner. "What are you looking at?" the boy also asked as he now noticed that Tanu was examining the back of a door. He then realized that the door was the door to Tanu's old apartment when her cousin resided on Shimagakure with her. Shin hadn't gotten the chance to really get to know either of them, but he had thought he and Kazuma would be friends and thought Kana was a great shinobi after the way he fought during the Meho war. It had also come to Shin's knowledge that Kana was WITH Aya. Not in a partner way as some shinobi were, but in a he and Hanabira way. To have such a beauty as Aya made Shin give Kana even more respect! The boy dazed out thinking about the sweet Aya and her kindness towards Shin the times they had encountered one another. Instantly, Shin slapped himself across the face. HE WAS WITH HANABIRA! How dare he be sitting here reminiscing about another girl! A superior as well! Shameful!

As Tanu traced her finger in the carvings on the door, she heard Shin's name yelling out from the step. Rolling her eyes to the ceiling, she pocketed the three Kunai and five shuriken with the others she already had on her. The girl didn't answer Shin's screamed until she heard him yell Kiba's name like a frantic little girl. Stepping out from behind the door, she could hear his rushed steps up the stairs until he fell flat on the floor. Crossing her arms in front of her chest, Tanu stared a mean glare at Shin as he turned his head towards her. "No, he didn't," Tanu answered him keeping her arms crossed in front of her. Just what type of squad member had Tanu agreed to? She knew the Nara had skill in him! But there was no chance that he was showing any of it off... "Kazuma left something behind..." Tanu said as she drifted off. "I know he didn't use them much, but to leave behind his Kunai and Shuriken... I would think he would need them while training with Kana. Unless he left the village, so he wouldn't train? Its weird, but I'm not sure what to think," Tanu spoke, letting her words wander out with her thoughts to Shin, but as she looked at the boy, she noticed him slapping himself. "ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING!?" Tanu yelled at Shin and then grabbed him by the collar and slapped him herself. "Don't ask a question if you're not going to listen to the answer!" she yelled while shaking him by his shirt.

Within the midst of slapping himself, another hand joined in, but this one caused much, much, MUCH more pain. "Ow! Ow! Ow!" Shin cried as Tanu slapped him silly while yelling at him. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'll listen! I'll listen!" Shin cried as he pulled away from Tanu and crawled across the apartment hallway to the second flight of stairs that led up to the third floor. With a pout on his face, Shin looked like quite the sight with his cherry red cheeks. His own hits would've left them pink and rosy, but since Tanu had joined in they were beat red! "Ha..." Shin sighed as he regained his composure. "What's troubling you now?" Shin asked Tanu seriously as he looked straight at her with his slightly sleeping eyes. Before his eyelids had weighed down heavy like bricks, but now they weren't so heavy. His chocolate brown eyes were only dry now. Rubbing his hand in his eye socket, he tried to wake himself up and get his eyes to water a bit.
He needed to think of something sad... Shin wasn't one to cry about sad thoughts though. He cried out of fear most of the time, which he had been working on! But he failed at times... Balling up his fist he began to rub both eyes at once, not paying attention to anything that Tanu may have to say. He was on the brink of fighting through the sleepiness that clouded his mind! And once he was done rubbing his eyes, they were moist and he was wide awake. Standing up to his feet, Shin puffed up his chest. "Maybe Kiba isn't in there! Maybe he already headed out for some morning warm-ups! Why don't we head to Yuki-sensei's house and wait for him?" Shin suggested to Tanu as he began heading downstairs, walking down them upright like a human being and not dragging his feet with every step.
