I would definatly say Nibleheim it would be great to live near the shin-ra mansion and mt.Nible also if that were to be my birth town I could be a child hood friend of Cloud xd

I would say Junon. It's kinda sorta a small town, but it has it's bigger-town area with plenty of places to buy items.
