Somadhi's lithe little tortiepoint body raced down the steps from the girls' dormitory, skipping three or four winding steps at a time so it looked like she was flying. Eloel buzzed down the stairs just behind her kitten, whose fur flew as she found another kitten to play with. She dug her claws into the same pillow as the other kitten, and all together the three fluffballs rolled around on the sofa.

Eloel laughed, the sight a bit funny to see whilst her tiredness infected her brain. She'd barely, barely registered two seventh years at the foot of the girls' stairs as she had lightly stepped around them. The combination of the train ride, Great Feast in the Welcoming Hall, or whatever it was, made her suffer a horrid case of delusion. The spiders crawled up and down the cold stone walls before her swimming eyes. The tears began welling up again at the memory of her dad telling her about how to identify the different types of spiders.

She briskly shook the tears off and quickly rubbed her feet against the rough slipcover of the sofa to warm her bare feet. She huddled at the end closer to the fire and pulled a spare blanket over herself. Thinking of a second thought, she also grabbed the two torpid kittens and pressed them to her chest inside the blanket, where the three slowly began to fade into sleep...

...............

Snapping her eyes open the next morning, Eloel felt a dull ache in her chest beneath her collarbone. Long, thin red marks raised above her skin in an obvious reminder of the two kittens she’d slept with pressed to her chest. She quickly ran back up the stairs to the girls’ dormitories, disregarding the mess she’d left on the sofa. Throwing on her green-and-black silk robes and not even thinking about breakfast, she pounded back down to the common room. In such a rush to get to Transfiguration, her favourite (and only) class, she'd left her bag upstairs. Dashing back up, she arrived back in her dorm gasping for air. "No more running, I'm not late."

Running a wire brush through her unruly, crazy brown hair, she tugged on the lilac streak that was magically not-fading. She glanced at her old bag hanging over a post on the bed. The worn-leather bag still smelled of cinnamon and sage. Eloel rubbed her nose in the soft hide and inhaled deeply. She opened it to make sure she had her quills, parchment, and Tranfiguration book, then took off at a leisurely pace down the steps, back to the common room, again. She skipped out of the common room with one hand hanging on to her bag, the other rubbing her eyes sleepily.

Seamus slipped through the secret enterance and surveyed the room before him. A bit like home. Maybe. He'd only been at Hogwarts for a year, this being his second. But already he felt like the dugeon room was as close to home as anywhere else he'd been. He streched his lanky self over an armchair and leaned his head back against it. The room was quiet, and he could feel himself begin to drift.

Listening to the crackling on the fire, Ascella sat gently on the couch. With her white blanket wrapped around her, and her white slipper socks, she was rather warm. Her favorite dark green and silver pajama's snug against her frail frame. The November weather wasn't her favorite. The cold, the dry, the dull gray skies. With a love for spring, Ascella dreaded this part of winter. The only thing she looked forward too during the winter was Christmas. All the memories of family, and friends, waking up on christmas, lots of her friends coming over for christmas. She loved every little bit of it.
Ascella kept her eyes open, the fire flickering in her eyes.
I'm glad that no one else is in here, yet, I still wish one person could keep me company. Kale, Dexter, Kathos, anyone. Okay, maybe not Raina, she wouldn't shut up.
Just...Someone. Though, no one is better than everyone. That would be simply chaotic.

With a small smile across her face, Ascella took her hair and tied it up into a ponytail near the top of her head. The bobbing of her long hair in the pony tail was only noticed by her when it tickled her neck.
Grabbing the blanket with her arms, her entire person was covered by the soft white wool.

Kathos walked down from the boys dorms wanting to get warmed up a bit from the fire himself, it may be less colder than Russia, but I still hate it, he thought to himself as he walked down the remaining steps into the common room, one may say the Slytherin common room is cold, but it's actually cosy compared to home anyhow.

He raised an eyebrow at a fellow snake wrapped in white, "That cold are you?", he asked if not a little bit cold but he hadn't spoken much today, as he came closer smiling with the warmth beginning to warm up his bones.

Ascella looked over at Kathos, her expression a mix of surprised and impressed. Well, I guess I got what I wanted.
"Yes, it is rather cold. I'm used to warm weather, down in France. You'd think I'd get used to the cold, but alas, no." There was a twang of french accent in her words as she spoke. Normally, she could speak in a perfect British accent, but every so often she would forget and speak with her french twang.
Though, sometimes she would forget who she was talking to and speak in fluent french, without anything bringing that on.

Shaking the thought away, she smiled at Kathos, glad that she wasn't the only one there. Though, for the first time she noticed how handsome he was. Ascella and Kathos were never as close as she and Dexter was, but they were not distant with eachother. A friendly smile here and there, open in depth conversations. Ascella can even remember them being paired up together, though, at the time she was crushed that she wasn't paired up with kale. Though, now she is glad that she was with someone else.

With a smile, Ascella scrunched herself together more on the couch, her face still towards the fire, her thoughts on the warmth in front of her.
"I haven't had the chance to talk to you much yet Kathos. How was your summer? Is your family still well?"

"I'm also not used to the cold, despite I'm used to living in a colder location.", Kathos spoke as he tugged a bit back his slacks so he could sit down on the couch, enjoying the French accent from Ascella, not too noticeable unless one paid some attention to it.

Well you have the chance now no?", smirking lightly pressing his hands forward closer to the fire, "I had the usual uptight summer. And the family...is well I suppose.", with a partial blank tone thinking lightly at all the lessons his father made him do, "How was your summer Ascella?"

Ascella couldn't resist but smirk. Of course he made her smile, but then again almost any boy could make her smile. Though, one thing she really did appreciate about Kathos was that he didn't make her feel uncomfortable.
"Well, cold can be good. Gives you an excuse to turn the fireplace on. And even better, an excuse to cuddle." Giving kathos a cute wink, Ascella grinned, her using her thin fingers on her right hand to push her bangs out of the way of her face.

"Yes, I do have time to talk now. NO classes for the rest of the day. At least, I hope not. Uptight family. Sounds rather fun. My summer was rather well. I was supposed to go to my sisters wedding, but well, I spent it in the hospital. I had several hospital runs this summer, though, everything's fine now."

I hope.

With a shrug, Ascella put her hands together, and wrapped herself tighter in the blanket. Looking rather small, Ascella let her hair bob up and down as she lightly shook her head. The tickling feeling on the back of her head made her forget everything bad. Simple, silly, but effective.

In the common room, she was able to be herself. She didn't have to act mean, or cold, she could talk. However, she looked the most frail, letting how she feel show. Ascella almost looked weak and exhausted, and she usually was.

Ascella looked rather relaxed at the moment, the blanked hugging her small frail form. Through one side, the arm that wasn't under the blanked, you could see a few small faint bruises on her arm.

Kathos allowed a slight tinge brush on his cheeks at the wink, despite he should be used to the teasing girls tend to do, "Even if we did have classes we'd still be able to talk. That bad of a summer?", he frowned a bit remembering the days she'd seem much more fragile in the common room, though he did admire her strength since she never seemed like she was now outside of the protective walls of the common room, then again most snakes let down their masks and relaxed without having to show much image to others, here most had the same upbringings and need to show aristocratic masks in the face of public.

He stared a bit at Cella's arm, "What happened?", he asked waving lightly with a hand to the bruises that were seen with his own two eyes.

Ascella smirked, remembering all of the happenings of the summer. It was a bad one. The constant hospital trips, the upped dosage of medication, the seizures.
Normally, she would have made something up, though, after the feast she promised herself that she wouldn't hide the truth fro everyone, and now was a good time to keep that promise to herself.
"Well. I have epilepsy. Over the summer, when I have the most stress I am more prone to seizures. Especially this summer with the drama of my sister getting knocked up, and having a wedding." Rolling her eyes, she thought how ironic it was that she was more relaxed at school, and being at home stressed her out far, far more than being at school.

Looking at her arms, she cringed, instinctively covering up her arms with her blanket. Even though Kathos had already seen her arms, she was still embarrassed by them.
"Well. I had a series of small seizures, and my arms flail the most...So when there are things around me....Lets just say that I don't eat at the table anymore, and that forks aren't my friends."

Ascella couldn't help but smile at her comment about forks, considering how when she had a seizure the year before she had smashed her arm against a fork and still had four small dot scars on her arm.

Kathos frowned as Cella covered herself up as if perhaps embarrassed to be seen.

"Pardon if this sounds blunt or rude, but why didn't any of the medi-wizards give you a salve for the bruises? I don't it wouldn't have effected any treatment you're having.", his voice having a tad hint of concern whilst wondering why she wasn't given a simple salve at all, it's not hard to make nor give to those that may need them for whatever the matter, in fact why didn't her family give her some.

Ascella stopped in her tracks, her thoughts frozen as the realization of using salve on her bruises made more sense.
Her blond factor was showing.

Feeling her cheeks burning with embarrassment, Ascella coughed, looking at the couch.
"Well...My parents think that in medicine involving the brain, wizards are incompetant. My mum believes that wizards are too impatient, and are in a rush to fix things without understanding what is actualy wrong. So..Well..My mother wont let them treat my condition though magic. And they normally don't see my bruises. I usually hide them."

With the rosy flush still on her cheeks, Ascella tried to change the subject, letting out a small squeak, though she couldn't think of anything to say.

Kathos narrowed his eyes at the part excuse despite how logical in a way it may have sounded, "Well now you'll be able to stop covering yourself so much. I can imagine how hard it was during summer with those things.", Kathos said staring into the fire, "What you plan to do once you get out of Hogwarts?", changing the subject after having noticed Cella's embarrassment on her cheeks, guess snakes become somewhat open books here in the common room, he thought to himself.

"It is hard in the summer. I just tell people that I'm clumsy. They normally don't question it."
Ascella let out a small sigh of relief. Glad that he didn't pursue any further actions, she smiled at the handsome russian man. With a few fidgets, and feeling a little more comfortable with herself, and being with him, she let her smile fade. A little contradictory to what she thought, she let the blanket fall a little bit, now not caring whether he saw her immense number of bruises or not.
"After school...I really don't know. All I know is that I'm being shipped off to France almost immediately."
Making direct eye contact with Kathos, Ascella almost had a look of pain in her eyes, yet her face expression was as blank as she could make it.
As a kid Ascella did a lot of acting, on stage, off stage, anything. Though, as she got older, her father said that it wasn't good for her education, and that she needed to attend Hogwarts.
However, that little bit of actor was still in her, including the ability to instantly change her expression, regardless of what she felt.

Kathos raised an eyebrow and a frown as her smile had left her face, for some reason he liked seeing a smile on her and not the semi blank look she had now.

"Shipped off to France?", he questioned mildly confused, even more looking into Cella's eyes and seeing pain in her grey depths, "You make it sound as if you don't have a choice."

"Vell..Grandmere is just a leettle.." With a pause, Ascella attempted to think of the right words, without being to insulting towards her beloved Grandmother.
"My grandmere runs a vineyard in France, and asked me to go. My grandmere is zo ztubbern. If she decides somefing, no one can talk heer out of eet." As she began to talk about her family, her diction started slipping into a heavy french accent.
Alas, Ascella didn't realize what that she was speaking in an accent, considering that she spoke it fluently at home.

Maybe Raina iz right. Maybe I need to stop being so centered on one man, and just have fun. I have a short life...I should live it.

Ascella kept her eye contact with Kathos, though, she used a few simple elegant expressions as she spoke of her grandmother.
