I absolutely love it. The funny thing is the guy i like right nows grandfather also worked at the Los angeles temple razz

I have a feeling that when I get married I'm not going to care what Temple I get married in, I'm just going to be happy I'm getting married.

FrozenTwins Laurance Pony I have a feeling that when I get married I'm not going to care what Temple I get married in, I'm just going to be happy I'm getting married. I hear you there, but I wouldn't mind getting married the Hawaii Temple. Laie or Kona? (I love Laie.) I don't really care myself. There are temples that mean a lot to me for various reasons... I love the Lai'e Hawai'i Temple because I went to school in Lai'e. I love the Salt Lake Temple because when I was little I didn't actually know there WERE other temples. I love the Mount Timpanogous Temple because it was the first temple I went in... at the dedication and open house as a YW and later where I received my own endowments. HOWEVER, I really don't know where I will be living when I get married if that ends up happening, or if the guy will have some temple he really prefers or whatever. And since I don't particularly care, well, I am not picking. Especially since I don't really see myself GETTING married. But who knows? biggrin

I think the San Diego temple is gorgeous. Of course, that probably won't happen but that's okay; Mesa, AZ is beautiful too! n_n

foxeykat Well shoot, I'm not thinking of getting married anytime soon blaugh but the Lubbock, TX temple is the closest to me...I've got friends who were married in the San Antonio temple, but I honestly have no idea what either temple looks like (never been to one). I suppose it would just depend on where my future hubby would want to go. Actually I have a question for y'all who know about this kind of stuff: Say I got married and had a civil ceremony first here... if I went on my honeymoon outside of the United States could I get sealed in a temple in another country immediately after the civil ceremony or would I have to wait a year? The reason I am wondering is because my mom and the rest of my family are not members of the Church, and it would break my heart not to have my mom at my wedding. I know I'm not getting married or anything but it's something that has crossed my mind once or twice concerning the future. sweatdrop Family is at the center of this church and you need to find a balance between a family who does not believe in this religion and your own faith. In my case, I waited the year. I am the only daughter and my family is very close *despite the issues that occured with my choice of religion* and it would have caused irreparable harm to our relationships if I had said "wait in the lobby." The blessing/ceremony is the same if done at the first or a year later. You aren't extra-special for doing it at the first. I also advocate waiting in general because it is much easier to know I"m in it for ETERNITY when I've been with him for a year. Knowing how many marriages are pretty emotionally over by a year in, it made me feel more comfortable when I knew we'd gotten that far.

I would really like to be married there, but whatever, man. I'll take what life gives me.

Princess Shira I dont want to get married in a Temple. They are freeky! They ruin your wedding day too. That mak eyou wear thse weiad wedding garments and you dont get to wear a gown. Besides, The temples I dont think are relly a house of god anymore. They are relly wieird. I am not letting those Freaks inside ruin my wedding day. Also temples are wier they have satanic symbols on the outside of them. *sigh* sometimes it is hard to tell the difference between someone who is struggling and someone who is here with the INTENT to lead people astray. Sorry if that messed anyone up. Princess Shira is an anti pretending to be a member. She has now been banned, now that it was confirmed (beyond this post, obviously) dancing-in-the-streets foxeykat Well shoot, I'm not thinking of getting married anytime soon blaugh but the Lubbock, TX temple is the closest to me...I've got friends who were married in the San Antonio temple, but I honestly have no idea what either temple looks like (never been to one). I think that really needs to be between you, your spouse to be, and the Lord. You aren't "Extra Special" for doing it right away... but most times you ARE counseled by the prophets to do so and that, even if it may be difficult for your parents to understand, you, and THEY, will be blessed for following that counsel. HOWEVER, obviously there are plenty of times that there are exceptions. I am not saying there aren't. But I think a couple had better take it to the Lord before deciding THEY are one of these exceptions.

I really like the San Diego temple, but my favorite is the Columbia River temple. It's small. Very small.
