I got my package in today whee Which means that today was the first time I've tried my deodorant 3nodding It smells delicious: spicy and masculine, without knocking you out like most other deodorants (especially men's). I could only smell it if I was right next to my underarm, and now at the end of the day there's a little of my natural smell, but no offensive odor. I love how it's almost a gel, but it's not wet or sticky. It goes on like a bar but it's not white or powdery so it doesn't leave any residue.
Thumbs up!

Hee hee, you guys made me want to try my Trader Joe's deo again. And I'm happy I did! With the humid weather, it keeps me pretty dry (not perfect, but doable). I do smell more "natural" towards the end of day, but I'm not putting my armpit in anyone's face, so it's only me who notices it. Also, it's soooo nice when I shave, because my razor doesn't get all gunked up with residue that the normal store deodorants cause.
So, thumbs up for Trade Joe's deodorant!

An old wives remedy that really works. Moisten a bit of towel with some apple cider vinegar and apply it to your underarms. The natural yuck fighting properties of vinegar help to fight the bacteria that produce odor. And on the plus side your armpits tend to kindof smell like apples once the strong vinegar smell wears off.
I use this on days when my salt crystal smells a little funky (i've learned i need to let it air dry and clean it every now and then).
Actually i've been using acv more than the crystal lately. I use Bragg's raw apple cider vinegar. I don't now if that makes any difference.

the salt crystals are nifty but if you don't let them dry out properly they tend to build up a funky smell.
I've switched to arm & hammer deo out of convienence. Re-reading this thread though, i'll see about the acv again once my current deo runs out.

How do you clean your salt crystal? Mine smells funky and has got bits of gunk in it (most likely little bacteria towns). The sucky thing about the crystals is that it lasts forever, so you're not getting fresh new ones all the time.

i would run the crystal under hot water and rub it clean then let it air dry.
i never looked up a proper way to keep them clean, but this seemed to help.

I got some Tom's natural deodorant for free at work, along with mouthwash, toothpaste and a reusable cloth bag. Well the mouthwash I find works great, it's just a baking soda based one. The toothpaste I haven't tried yet. The deodorant however, I do not like the smell. It's not like, OMG it smells nasty, but, it's just, I don't want to smell like that. So I put it on in the morning, cause it's suppose to kill odor causing germs, but if I need to reapply later on I'll use my regular secret that I love the smell of. I'd like to replace all my cosmetic stuff with natural ones. Price isn't even an issue. I believe that it's worth the extra money to not dry out your skin and hair with the average supermarket crap.

I also use Alba. It's actually worked pretty well for an "all natural" deodorant stick. If I had to rate it, it'd be as good as my crystal one.

Ugh; I sweat.. a lot! Even if I'm doing nothing I still sweat and I'm underweight so it is really strange. I have an aluminum sensitivity so I end up getting a rash if I use anything with aluminum in it. I tried using the toms of maine stuff; uh kiss my face.. and jason and they ALL gave me hives and did not work. ;---; The salt stuff was decent but I still sweat, stink, and it dried out my skin. I bought this 'Adidas cotton tech stuff' it's aluminum free smells kinda strange but it actually works! Only like $2.50 at wal-mart and it won't give me a rash. Although I still end up using stuff with aluminum like one or twice a week.. just if I'm going out for a whole day and want something with extra staying power.

whoever said that Jason's product didn't dry, mine did. o.o & i'll definitely keep the shaving/burning thing in mind lol.
but yeah, i've used that & it seems to work pretty good. of course, i don't sweat much so i don't need anything too heavy xD in fact, most days i go without & i'm fine.

I've used the Adidas stuff and liked it too. You should check your diet regarding your sweating. I am underweight and sweat, but I don't smell at all unless I eat more meat then usual. Did a few quick Google searches on foods that may make you sweat more: > meat > dairy > alcohol > tobacco The lists are pretty varied, so I can only suggest watch what you eat and see if you notice a difference. I'd try going a week without Food A then see how it goes, and then so forth.
