References?: Okay. So, this nightmare is inspired by teh creepy plagas of Resident Evil 4. Here we go~

This is somewhat simplified because I iz feeling ill >> but basically, there should be fur all along the top of the body and in patches elsewhere as you feel is best needed. Underneath is sickly flesh. NOT zombies, this thing isn't dead, but it is in a bad way and shouldn't seem healthy. Horns and muzzle-tip bit are the color of exposed/slightly aged natural bone. The tails are entirely fur.

The most important thing is the whiplike tendrils - they should seem glossy, wet, alive. They are, in this instance, the living limbs of the parasitic plaga within. (Nom nom nom!) Note the fresh blood along the edge, where the tendrils and body meet; it should seem like the tendrils burst out of the flesh from the inside. (Nom nom nom!) The tendrils should also have bloody streaks along them here and there. I tried to express this as best as possible in the art. >> There should also be fresh blood by the eye-stitches.

There are also splashes of dried blood here and there on the kitsu, specially at the muzzle and tips of the horn, heavily on the paws/legs, etc.

Overall, the kitsusagi should have some texture to it - seem a bit realistic in terms of coloring. This kitsusagi here is a really good example:

In terms of coloring, that's basically a perfect style to emulate. Something with color shifts so it's not just flat, a bit more realistic. If that makes sense. c_C The tendrils on that one are also a great example of what I want Plaga's tendrils to look like.

Markings Style: Light brown stripes outlined in dark brown on the face. Light brown dots edged in dark brown on the top of the back, then a more stripes in a really stylized wing pattern. The references make it much clearer.

The first ref is pretty much perfect, all colors etc. The second one shows the back pattern a bit more clearly just in case you wanted that.
