Aisu Enzeru So with that the group walked further up the path until they got to the city gates which were sealed from intruders and unwelcome guests. One of the guards at the gate saw the three and glared at them. "What business do you have here elf?" he asked coldly. "I just wish to pass through" Lin replied. The second guard looked at Lin with a curious interest and walked in through the gate. He would get the lord of the city to ask him what to do. "You will have to wait. My companion went to get the lord of our city. He will choose if you may pass or not." "Very well."
(Totally jumped on that chance I did. ^^)((I'll jump on your jump... oh, that sounded weird. Well, here we go. One minotaur lord coming up!)) Finishing his sketch, Rok stood up again. Walking back into the main hall, he once again paused to take a long look at his family's tapestry. Then, he heard a noise behind him, a cough.
"Yes?" he asked, turning around. The second guard from the main gates bowed before Rok and addressed him.
"Lord Rok'ryuktar Mantoph of Rarthor Hall! There is trouble at the gates. An outsider wishes pass through our city. She is an elf, Lord. She has two companions with her, a horse and a tiger. What will you have done?" he asked. Rok turned his head and rolled his eyes before turning back to the guard.
"I will go to the gate and speak with this elf. If her intentions are pure, she will be allowed to pass," he told the other minotaur. Glancing down at his tunic, he sighed.
"Just as soon as I am dressed more approprietely,"
"Yes, Lord Rok'ryuktar Mantoph. A fine decision," the guard responded as Rok disappeared to run to his chambers.
After a couple of minutes, Rok returned, dressed in his leather armour. Striding out of the hall, guard behind him, he made his way to the gate.
"What is this?" he asked, once arriving. Looking down upon Lin, the sun was directly behind him, making the outline of his body appear to glow impressively.
"What is your business in Mahn-tor?"

(@ DemonDays2, do not worry if your posts aren't as long as others, sometimes you will get long posts and sometimes short ones. ^^ @ Sierra_Lily, yeah it does sound weird, but hey, weird is awsome. ;D)
Lin looked up at the figure that adressed her and examined him closely. She could tell that he was not one to go against, otherwise you may find yourself being hung, or getting your head sliced off. She bowed politely and respectively knowing he was the Lord of the city, he even had the build to show he was of a superior blood. "My lord" she looked up at him respectively and then continued. "I only wish to pass through your city. You see, I am simply on my way to the human's capital city. I believe it is this way, though I haven't a map and I do not know how to get there. I would also like to perhaps stay a little while, for I have travelled a fair distance and haven't had much of a chance to rest or restock on my supplies. If I am unable to stay a while I shall just pass through and travel till I come to another city or village where I may restock on my supplies."
I pray I have not been disrespectful or made these Minotaurs angry. I dread to think what happens to people that disrespect their lord. I have never met a Minotaur before so I am unsure of how to adress them.
Lin waited silently for the reply which may come. She felt cold sweat running down her face and body, she didn't really know why this was however; though she wasn't feeling the best, she had not been feeling the best for quite some time. Mist and Moondust looked at her and easilly noticed this, they also noticed her skin was quite pale, especially considering she was usually tanned. Lin looked around from the corners of her eyes, quite a few Minotaurs were staring at her, she guessed this was probably common when strangers were near the city. A feeling of uneasiness washed over her, whether this was because she was the center or attention and her condition caused this, she wasn't sure at all.
I never usually get so uncomfortable when meeting creatures I haven't seen before. Maybe this is because compared to these Minotaurs I am quite smallish, I kind of feel like a rabbit running from pray.
Lin swallowed, it felt like she was waiting for a reply for hours in this silent atmosphere, where really it had only been a few seconds to a minute. Unconsiously she began to play around with the side parts of her armor and clothing, her nervousness wasn't helping the situation and how she felt about it at all.
What am I doing here, maybe I should have just passed by, it may have added some more days to the journey, but that would have been better then getting myself into a situation where I feel so uncomfortable and weak. I don't understand why I am feeling this way, though I have been for quite some time now.

[Bah, guess they are only short because Im alone. Guess Ill wander and look for you guys] ---- Flint finished the song with the last verse, a few people left in his crowd. "She died below the brandy's as we where comin' back. We buried her in the ocean wrapped up in a Union Jack! So now I a single man in search of a pretty face. And the woman that says she'll have me, I'm off to Harbor Grace!" He moved his banjo over his arm, sighing. The crowd clapped, and he shook hands with the man that played the drum with him. "Well, it's been nice knowing you all" Flint said, standing up. "But, honestly, it's too quiet here. I'm off on an adventure, somewhere" He headed inside the inn, climbing the stairs quickly and finding his duffel bag and butterfly knife. He stuck the knife in a pouch and his bag over his arm, stopping once at the bar. "You've all been nice to me" Flint started, reaching for a sack of coins at his belt. "So, I will return the favor. Marcus, a round of drinks for everyone, on me" he said, tossing some coins onto the bar. A few people clapped. "And now I must be really off. Goodbye, all" he said, leaving.
Once outside the city gates, Flint sighed again. He had no idea where to go, but he wandered towards a small mountain range, humming the sea shanty he had just played. He thought of the song and decided he would need a better instrument...maybe a lute, or something. Flint shrugged, walking off into the forest.

Turning to the guards, he nodded.
"This elf is my guest. Please inform the patrol sergeants of this fact. She will be treated as a valued guest and nothing less. She will be allowed to go wherever she wishes until she sees fit to leave," he ordered. The two guards bowed and returned to their posts.
Rok then turned to leave. Glancing back to Lin, he grinned.
"What is your name, elf?"

Sorrow looked up at the man as he was being handed food. It was some kind of pork with rice and two cups of water. He set it on the table and sat down. Sorrow was still confused as to why this man was being so nice to her. He didn’t seem like such a creep after all. However there was still some doubt as to why he was being so nice. No one has ever been this nice to her before and this worried her.
“So what’s your name?”
“I told you already.”
“Your name can’t really be Sorrow. It doesn’t fit you, what is your real name?”
“Ryo, Ryo Atami. But please, just call me Sorrow.”
“Sorrow is it, but why do you call yourself that?”
“It’s an old nickname, it just kind of stuck.”
“Feel free to dig in.”
Drake grabbed an eating utensil and stabbed a slice of pork and put it on his plate. Sorrow followed suit and did the same, mimicking him. She was actually enjoying herself for once. She scooped a portion of rice and began cutting and chewing her food. She swallowed a bite and looked over at the man across the table.
“This is really good.”
“This, nah, it’s probably the cheapest thing on the menu.”
“Even still, this is really good. I don’t think I’ve eaten this good in a while.”
Drake gave her a look as if he wasn’t sure what to make of the woman. She began to munch on her food once more and lost track of Drake and what he was doing. He started talking to her and yet she was still too consumed in her food. She made a few uh huhs and yeahs as she ate away at her food. She wasn’t paying attention until Drake spoke once agian.
“Sorrow, are you listening to me?”
“Oh sorry, you caught me. No I was too busy eating.”
“What do you like to do besides playing music?”
“Nothing really, music is my life. But when I’m not doing that I like to cook and sew. I made these clothes I’m wearing right now.”
“Really? Think you could make me some threads?”
“Maybe, if you paid me enough.”
“So where is it you’re from again?”
“I don’t remember I don’t remember a lot of things.”
“Your bill, sir.”
Drake turned and paid the man the share in which he owed and turned back around to see Sorrow sitting by herself a few feet away with her lute in hand. She strummed it a few times, letting a melodic chirp ring out. She then strummed it faster and made a different sound entirely. She played, fingers relaxed, strumming her little heart out. And when she was done Drake was standing next to her, amazed at the sound he had just heard. He started to clap and looked at her with all smiles. “You are a quite amazing and unique woman.”
Sorrow smiled and looked at him with content. She stood up and placed the lute on her back and walked forwards with him to wherever they happened to be going at the current time. She didn’t know where he was leading her, maybe to get a job. But for once in her miserable life, she was happy.

Flint walked lazily through the forest, whistling with no real set tune. He stopped when he heard a shuffle in front of him. He stopped walking, looking ahead. Sure enough, two figures where standing there, on either side of the path. He reached for his knife, concealing it in his palm. Flint kept going, and when he reached a certain point, the figures jumped out. They wore ragged clothes and had large axes. "Money or your life" one of them said, and Flint nearly winced at the cliche. "Alright, ya got me, here ya go" Flint said, reaching for his pouch but instead flicking his knife open. Two clasps locked the handles together and he jumped forward, stabbing into the first bandit's heart, killing him instantly. The second one swung at him, cutting the neck off his banjo. Flint shrugged his arm, dropping it to the path, and slashed at the bandit's head, taking it clean off his shoulders. Flicking the knife shut, Flint casually kept walking, humming as he went.

Lin looked up and blinked. She was quite shocked at how easy going the lord of the place was. When he said he was her guest and she could stay till she was fit to go she was quite happy and loosened up a bit. She calmed down and her tenseness faded. She watched as the other left her alone and looked at the city's lord when he turned and asked her name. She was very hesitant to answer his question; knowing he was a lord however she decided to introduce herself formally, even if it meant letting him know her true identity. He was probably likey to ask her a few questions, like why she left her family's manor without any business to do for them.
Lin paused and looked at the ground. Her eyes grew distant for a little while and then she snapped back into reality and looked up at the minotaur lord. "I am Lady Liniathe Lavich of Windshire Manor, pleased to meet you." She bowed and then stood up straight once more. Mist and Moondust moved closer to her, they just happened to be a bit further away from the city gates then she was, but not by much. "I am truly greatful that you are letting me stay here until I am ready to travel once more." She smiled to show she was truly greatful and looked around a little before standing still to wait patiently for a reply.
I guess I have been too tense around other beings, I have after all been alone for quite some time after leaving home. I never want to go back; though I won't have a choice after a while.

Flint had been wandering for hours, no set path in mind, through a dense forest. It had been fairly quiet after that bandit attack, and he had eaten off small game he caught along the way. Now though, he was getting a little weary of traveling and was desperate for somewhere to go. Flint reached a small mountain range, stopping at the base to examine the climb. It would have been nothing for a human-sized person, but Flint was a gnome...and thus a lot shorter. He sighed, decided to follow a path around it instead. The path was long and had quite a bit of turns, but he finally arrived at the other end, surprised to see, distantly between some trees, what looked like a large gate.

A lone girl walked up a winding path that led through a forest. She had past two bodies earlier and winced at the stench. No animal could have killed them that cleanly...It looked like a blade of some kind did it. She looked up through the trees and saw that the end of the forest was nearing. Holding her hand to cover her eyes she left the cool darkness of the trees into the sun. A small mountain range was in front of her. Is this the right path? she asked herself again, the map that she had seen in the last village never mentioned mountains along the path. That's it. I'm taking to the sky. The girl closed her eyes and willed her form to change. Her white hair grew and turned to scales covering her body, white leathery wings unfurled from her back, within a few seconds the girl had transformed into a slim white dragon. The dragon flapped her wings and lifted from the ground. She slowly circled around, riding a thermal near the mountain and saw the city nestled in the valley of the range. She tipped her body towards the city and flew towards the city's gate. The dragon landed on the ground with a thud, raising dust and pebbles with her wings. It was then she noticed the gnome standing nearby and almost under her. "Sorry about that," she said as she moved out of the gnomes way. "Almost didn't see you there."
((There. Flint can have someone to talk to.))

"Holy-" Flint started, before coughing violently from the dust. He covered his mouth with his sleeve, continuing to cough for a moment. He looked up, jaw dropping. The dragon was HUGE compared to Flint, and in the back of his mind that never concentrated on the job at hand, he wondered what it must have looked like to a human. "I...Its ok" he said, a bit white. To be frank, he was terrified, which was odd as he rarely got scared. Must be the height, he reasoned.

Sorrow and Drake had been walking for a short time. They were chatting back and forth and both seemed happy with each other’s company. They slowly approached the fountain somewhat nearby the large gate. Drake turned to her and gave her a cheerful look and handed her a paper card. She extended her hand slightly and took the card into her hand.
“Well I gotta get to work, I’m almost late. That card has the location of the store I work in. Come by some time, you might even get a part time job there too."
“Okay, I will.”
Sorrow turned around and slowly walked away towards the gate. She was walking happily when suddenly a huge crash sounded just across the other side of the gate. She panicked and rushed over to it. She approached the large wooden gate and looked up, noticing the guards were not there. She slowly pushed the door open, but only enough to see out of.
Someone could be hurt over there.
She looked over and saw out of the crack in the door what appeared to be a rather large dragon and a rather short gnome before her. She wasn’t sure what to do. She edged in closer to see if she could make out what they were saying. She pressed up against the door harder and it swung wide open causing Sorrow to fall face forwards into the ground.
She stood quickly and dusted herself off. She walked closer to the two and tried not to act out of the ordinary. She began to speak and then stopped herself before she did. These two could be trouble. In fact she had never seen a dragon and a gnome before in the same place. She’d never seen a dragon at all so she was a bit nervous. The two didn’t appear to be injured, but she felt awkward about spying on them.
“Um… hi?”

Flint jumped, turning to Sorrow. "H...H-hi" he stammered, looking up. He quickly regained his composure, standing slightly straighter and talking smoothly. "Well, this is interesting, I didn't expect anyone to be on this path except for me, most people would have taken the mountain one" he said, grinning slightly. "As for me, I'm too short"

Ashe looked over to the newcomer and blinked. She shook herself to loosen the dirt that fell on her and folded her wings. "This gate was the closest one from the town I had left. Though from a distance you where a little hard to see." She sensed the uncertainty of the two and sighed. She closed her eyes and shifted to her human form. "Again I'm sorry for almost landing on you," she said to the gnome.

"I said its okay" Flint said, waving his hand in a dismissive way. "Whats done is done, Im ok, and thats what matters" Flint felt a little uncomfortable, if any of these two had noticed the height of the stab wounds in the bandits, or that he carried a knife that was just the right size, he could be caught. It also didnt help he was a bit of a thief.

Sorrow turned back around, still a bit uneasy but unsure what to do. She witnessed the dragon slowly transforming into what looked like a human. She felt a little bit better now, that she no longer looked up at a huge dragon, but that of a human. A bead of sweat dripped down her face and she slowly walked over to the dragon lady.
“Wow, I didn’t know you could change that that. That must be pretty cool.”
She then walked over to the gnome and looked down at him. There was something about him, but she didn’t know what. She saw the banjo on his back and started to smile. She reached around her back and pulled out her lute. She looked at him again and started to speak.
“You play music too? Maybe we could play together some time.”
She put it back and started to turn around and walk away but then stopped herself. She turned back around forgetting she hadn’t introduced herself.
“You can call me Sorrow. And if any of you are injured, I can help.”
