"Sure. Let's get some rabbits. Any preference on how they're prepared?" Siko moved over to where he had hung the dried fish and other meats. He untied a few rabbits, dried to preserve the meat. He smiled over to Oora with a slight chuckle at how they were acting and laid the rabbits down on the rim of the hearth.
Eaxipil looked over the rabbits. He had helped Siko dry them and they were still holding up well. He glanced around at the three taur. "I know y'all are hungry. I can hear your bellies growling. Feed the beasts, eh."

"I really don't have a preference...." Oora tried to think of how Helios used to cook. She kept on smiling. Haru wouldn't win, even if he thought he would. Oora was still the older sibling. She had a several tricks left.
Haru just shrugged. "Don't care..... just cooked.". He could tell his sister was planning something, but decided not to comment. He was too hungry for thinking of something to come back with.

"Alright. I'll see if I can make it work for the two of you." Siko set to work. He gathered together a few vegetables and laid them along the top of the hearth. The rabbit was done, but the cattaur stuck it on a spit and propped it up over the fire. He got a knife and cut them up. "Eaxipil, could you give then veggies there a little roasting while I check the rabbit, please?"
The fire spirit grumbled, but consented. Siko moved over the spit and checked the rabbit. It had warmed and the skin had taken on a rich golden brown. The veggies were soon done. "Alright. Everything is ready. Help yourselves." He smiled. "Thanks, Eaxipil."
"Meh, no problem."

Oora watched as Eaxipil cooked. She smiled at him when he finished, and walked by Siko again. She took a small share of the food and motioned for Haru to get his share. "Take what you think you've earned."
Haru walked up behind Oora and scooped up his food. He tapped her on the shoulder, and stuck his tongue out at her. "I've earned every bit of what I get. Probably deserve it more than you do."

((I fail for the extreme lateness. gonk I apologize. My muse died for a while. ^^;; ))
Eaxipil snerked and shook his fiery head as he picked up a large spinter of wood to chew on. "Ah, siblings. Gotta love 'em." He reclined back in the hearth and crossed his hands over his belly. "I have a handful of siblings, granted we've not talked in an age or two. But I do have them."
Siko took his own share of the meal and sat down near the hearth. Outside the sun had set and the sky had begun to take on the blue black cast of night. The stars began to flicker to life and glowed around a growing crescent moon. The male cattaur munched on a piece of rabbit meat before speaking. "I didn't know you had siblings, Eaxipil."
"That's 'cuz you never bothered to ask." The flame said bluntly.
Siko coughed at being caught off guard at the remark, some rabbit had tried to go down the wrong pipe when he reacted. He looked slightly embarrassed. "It never really came up," he responded lamely. He thumped his chest when a few more coughs came to him. "I do believe I need to go fetch us all some water." He paused for a cough. "Do either of you want to come along. There's a river not too terribly far from here. It'd be good if we grabbed enough water for tomorrow as well. Haru, why don't you stay here and enjoy your dinner. You did earn it with helping make the table. Oora, do you want to come with me?" He set his plate down and rose. Siko smiled warmly and hopefully to the red headed female who had stolen his heart.

Oora smiled back at him. She motioned for Haru, who started to get up, to sit back down. "I'll help him, you should stay here." her voice was softer than usual. This was a chance to be alone with Siko, the one she loved, and she rarely got those with Haru around her all the time... She walked over to Siko, having finished her food, and locked arms with him. "Maybe you could show me around a little, too?" she said after they had closed the door behind them.
Haru sat back down when his sister told him to. He looked down at his food, it was almost gone... he looked at Eaxipil. "Do you know why they act that way? I don't get it..." he asked, knowing nothing what the emotion love was like. He picked at his food impatiently. He was going to do as he told and stay there, but he didn't want to...

Siko smiled and placed a hand on Oora's arm that was linked with his. "I would be honored." He glanced over towards the wall when the door closed behind them and picked up a clay jug that he kept by the door for water runs. He began leading the way towards the small river that ran through the forest and down into the valley. He made note to mention the more important or interesting landmarks.
After a little while of walking, the trees parted for a river that flowed through them. The sun had completely set and the stars above were now fully aglow in the sky over head. Fireflies came out of their daytime places and were drifting about on the breeze. Siko knelt and lowered the jug into the water to fill. He shifted his teal eyes her way with an easy smile on his face. "What do you think of all of this?" He looked down and lifted the now full vessel. Siko always enjoyed spending time with her. Having Oora around always made him feel as if his heart would burst from his chest, in a good way.
The fire spirit picked at his teeth with a splinter from his reclined position in the hearth. His meal was quite satisfying. Eaxipil lazily looked over towards Haru. His fiery eyebrows raised in unison. "Do I know? Phht, it ain't hard to see why." He gave an short snort of laughter and propped himself up to face the centaur. "Lad, they're in love, head over feet for each other. Believe me, I've seen my share of love and they've been smitten with each other for some time now. Being around the other, makes them happy. Spending time together, makes their hearts race. Oora and Insiko have a special place in the other's head and heart. Need I go on?"

Oora smiled warmly at him. "I think it's all very wonderful.." she laughed a little "and if we could get Haru on his own, well... then we could be alone more.." She could feel herself blushing a little. Haru wasn't causeing any trouble, but he did get in the way of them being alone, with him following her pretty much wherever she went.. wich was cute when he was little. Oora wraped her arms around him. "Siko... i love you..." she blushed more and looked around. "It's a nice night, isn't it?"
When she was around Siko she blushed more easily, and always felt a peculiar happy/giddyness. It was the type that made her never want to leave his side if she could help it. She wanted to find a way to keep him at her side forever.
Haru gave Eaxipil a funny look, cocking his head to one side. "Smitten?" he made his face wrickle up at the thought of them being mushy with him around. "A special place in eachother's hearts... have you ever had anyone like that for you?" he wasn't sure he would ever fully understand love... after all, what if he never met someone for him? What would he do then? Stay with Oora forever? She wouldn't want that. Not with her love.

"Well, we can talk to him about venturing out on his own. Help him get the idea to go out and test the waters of the world maybe." The male cattaur gave a little shrug and quirked a bit of a smile at Oora's blush. He cupped her cheek in one of his hands and lightly ran a thumb over her blush warmed cheek. "I love you too, Oora." He leaned in a placed a kiss on her forehead then one on her lips.
Siko smiled and wrapped an arm around her, looking around at the night. "It is. A very good night, indeed. One of the best in a while, if I do say so myself." He nodded confidently and gave her an affectionate squeeze.
The flame perched on the top of a half burned birch fire log and scratched his chin. "Have I ever been smitten or wildly in love with anyone?" He pondered the question for a long while, thinking over his many years of existance. Finally he answered. "Yes, once, but it wasn't returned to me. Oh, I loved her something fierece, but she kept far away, just winking, smiling, and being radiantly beautiful." He chuckled and shook his head. "I was younger then. Leave it to a fool of a flame to fall for a star."

"Yes, one of the best." Oora leaned on him a little. She kissed him on the cheek, her face still warm. "I would like to enjoy it with you a little longer, before we go back..." she hugged him closer to her. She wanted him all to herself. She looked up at him, her indigo eyes meeting his teal. He is mine, she told herself, and he always will be. She traced the side of his face with her fingertips.
"She did that? She led you on? Why? You loved her, that doesn't seem right..." Haru had unknowingly got interested and had taken the flame's side. He looked the fire in the eyes. He thought the fire was wise, much wiser than anyone he had met before... He frowned at the thought of Eaxipil being treated that way. It got on his nerves... what would they gain from treating someone like him that way?

The fire spirit blinked at the centaur. "Well, that's part of what stars do. They shine and glimmer in the far off sky, casting their radience into the dark night. Don't blame her. I don't. I was young and foolish. I thought I could do anything. We spirits can do a great many things, but some of us are still limited by our own nature. And uh," He paused to laugh at his own expence. "I had the habit of keeping my head in the clouds. One has to get close to a star to even try to get their cool hearts to warm up. It's cold up there you see. Even though they burn so brightly, they're cold too. One has to work their way into the heart of a star to get them to feel the flame of love." Eaxipil nodded and leaned back on a smouldering twisted branch. "Ah, well. I intend to love again. I don't let it get me down. Love can be the most abject pain, but still leave you longing for more. So, if'n the gods or spirits or whatever is out there decide to send a soul out for me, then I'll welcome them warmly when the time comes. What about you, lad? Have you ever been in love, since we seem to be on the subject?"
Siko nodded with a bit of a smile. "I agree. We could always take the long, round about way back. And we can walk slowly. You'd get to see more of the area and we'd pass through a field of wild grasses and flowers that always seem to attract fireflies this time of year. I think you'd really enjoy it, Oora. Shall we go that way?"

Haru thought for a minute before answering his question. "Yes... I am in love... She stole my heart the first time I set eyes on her. She makes me the happiest i've ever been." he smiled. "I'll have to introduce her to everyone... She's the most beautiful girl i've ever seen, and has a personality to match." he laughed a little. Even thinking of his Katalina made his heart feel light.
Oora didn't take her eyes off of his face. "I would like that... anything that you like, i don't think I could ever find anything wrong with it.." She didn't want to have to let him go to walk, though. She perked up at the though of fireflies. "Show me the way" she halfway purred the words. She couldn't think of any way this night could be better.

Eaxipil gave a little chuckle, leaning forward in his seat and resting his elbows on his knees, letting his fingers interlace between his knees. "I thought you may be. You've got that look to you. Like you feel as though if you get running fast enough you'll take to the heavens. Embrace it. I've learned that the feeling of love is one of the most precious and sometimes consuming emotions that the powers saw fit to bestow on mortal and immortal kind."
"Wonderful! Absolutely," Insiko chimed warmly as he gave his sweet beloved a gentle squeeze. With his free arm he held the container of water. The chocolate and teal cattaur turned and began to lead her down the longer pathway home. Siko couldn't help but smile at the way she had perked up at the mention of the fireflies. With her at his side, it didn't seem like anytime at all before they were coming up on the field. He leaned close and whispered in her ear. "We're getting close. If you look carefully, you'll be able to see a few glimmering specks here and there. Once we start to walk through, they'll take wing and light up the night around us. It'll be like the stars dancing for your enjoyment," he purred to her in a soothing baritone.

Haru nodded and closed his eyes, the picture of Kat filling his mind. "I know how consuming it can be.." his voice was soft, almost like he was talking to himself. He looked back up at the fire. "I will always keep it safe, a treasure." he looked outside, watching it slowly grow darker. "Do you think they're ok?"
Oora couldn't help but be a little excited. She'd always been in close touch with her inner child. "Stars dancing for our enjoyment...That sounds wonderful" this was the best night she could remember. With Siko being here, it made it perfect. She looked up into his eyes, a child-like smile on her face.

Eaxipil looked over to the window and out at the darkening skies and the stars that were emerging one by one. The fire spirit made a thoughtful sound. "I imagine so. They are together and the stream that I believe they went to isn't terribly far off. As far as I know there aren't any immenant dangers in the area. So, they ought to be okay. If they aren't back in the turn of an hourglass, then I recommend we go look for them." The spirit pointed to a simple hourglass on one of the shelves.
Siko gave a laugh and squeezed her hand affectionately. "Well, let's get the show started then." Still with her hand in his, the male cattaur began to run into the heart of the field. As the two cattuar enter the long grass, their presence disturbed the scores of fireflies hiding in the grass, sending them flashing into the air just about the meadow. Insiko slowed to a stop and looked around at the many glimmering insects about them, a child-like smile of his own settled onto his face. Sure, he may have been a full grown adult, but he was still very much in touch with his inner child. "Isn't this so cool?"
