Easy, just let them know that a gay baby was just born, it usually makes them laugh if they have a sense of humor.

All I did was ask how that's funny.
It's funny because "gay" would be its gender, rather than boy or girl. Also, it could be a one-up on the people who argue that homosexuality is a choice. And (unless the doctor tests every baby's genes--I've heard that homosexuality is determined by genes) how would the doctor know the baby was gay? It's not like the baby can tell him/her.
I seriously don't get why people would find it funny. But anyways, on to the lack of logic in your argument. Gay is not a gender. It is a sexual orientation. Completely different. Also, even though there is a genetic factor to homosexuality, it is nothing that can be tested for. And even if it is genetic, it is not completely the entire reason for all gay people. It's the nature/nurture issue all over again. Compare it to alcoholism. That has a genetic predisposition. But not everybody who has alcoholic parents is an alcoholic thelmself. It's there but may not manifest itself. Again, I don't see where the "gay baby" thing is funny. Maybe like WTF?? And you laugh at the sudden random rediculousness of it, but in and of itself, it is not funny.
