((Matrix! ^^ My boyfriend just saw The Other Boleyn Girl; he said it was alright.))
Mikaril couldn't have looked more uncomfortable if Jaeden had just asked him to show her how to french kiss. "Well, I.....no, it's not a fetish. I just.....like to keep it on. I do take it off while I'm sleeping; that'd be uncomfortable otherwise, and of course I take it off to bathe!" He smiled at that, then chewed his lip as he continued to make eye contact with Jaeden. Something inside him yelled at him to just pull the thing off and to hell with what she thought, but the rest of him said with a measure of calm that he had kept it secret for so long, and he just got to know this girl, and he was thinking of showing her when he kept it from every member of his own house, even his own mother?! Caution stared him in the face grimly. You've already botched things by telling her so much; you know how dangerous it would be if someone knew. Caution nodded at it's own advice and left a final note of warning in his ear. Drow do not tolerate physical deficiencies. Mikaril cleared his throat and pulled the hood back just far enough so that his face became clear. He fought the urge to pull his hood back into place, and instead used his left hand to brush his unruly snowy white bangs away from his eyes. They unobligingly fell right back to where they were once he withdrew his hand, but even they did little to diminish the glow of his ruby red eyes. One could just see, by looking a little deeper into the hood, that his hair barely reached his shoulders. Pretty much the only thing that remained deep within the hood were his ears and the top and back of his head. Mikaril shrugged almost apologetically as he carefully moved his hood back into place. "Not very distinguishing, huh?"

{{Lookit the art I got of Jaeden! [x] Doesn't she look totally adorable? <333 I had an artist named Miyobi do it for me!}}
Jaeden surpressed a smile as she watched Mikaril timidly remove the hood half way then replace it to it's original position. "Haha! You look quiet nice without that hood!" She jokingly said, though it really was no joke because Mikaril was easy on the eyes, "Now, it wasn't that hard was it? You acted as if I had asked you strip naked!" She kept beaming warmly at Mikaril, it felt so nice to have someone to talk to while on a journey for a change.
"Well, we've been walking for a good fifty minutes or so. You want to rest or keep going?" Jeaden shot at Mikaril as she swept, in one swift and graceful movement, beads of sweat lining her forehead away with the back of her hand. "I'm alittle tired myself, but of course i've been on my feet all day. But I can still keep going." She said with an assuring grin,"Though alittle bit of some water would be nice if we keep walking."
{{ Hmmm, we need some sort of interesting lil' plot twist to help keep things moving along >:3 Any ideas? }}

((Awwww! How much do they charge?))
Mikaril smiled, completely unaware that he was being complimented so by someone not of his own age and rank. He managed a weak chuckle. "If you were any other female, I probably would have been asked exactly that." He stopped walking. "Well, I'm not too terribly tired; I'm used to walking great distances. I learned that I had to travel pretty quickly if I was to make it from my home to the Glimmersea with enough time to relax. But if you want to stop for a while, we can; I'm not in any great hurry, you know." Which was true; he wanted to find the mercenary band as soon as possible, but if he ended up losing their trail, he knew where he could pick it up again. He would just rather not go into that particular section of the Underdark.
((Short post phooey. XP The first thing that came to mind was an attack in the tunnels, but I can't make up my mind as to what the attacker(s) might be.))

(( About 10k for a head shot :3 I paid with a sealed envelope ))
Jaeden was a peculiar female drow when compared to others but, that was mainly because she had spent so many years on the surface world in her younger ages and, the personality and role of females on the surface world was poles apart from that of the female drow. Surface female traits seemed to have lodged themselves into the depths of Jaeden's mind, embedding themselves and completely forcing her natural drow traits in to a deep recession. Jaeden laughed," Don't get me wrong I travel long distances as well it's just...I've been up for hours! But what I really want is a bath." Jaeden stifled a dreamy sigh at the thought of taking a long nice and warm bath. After all, it had been two days since she last bathed.
(( Yeah, I was thinking that too! But I have no clue what kind of other creatures would reside in the Underdark besides drows D: Maybe some kind of giant insect? Like, they are forced to take an alternative route in the tunnels -because the main tunnel collapsed- and walk into a nest? >:3 Also I was thinking he should walk in on her -accidentally of course- when she's taking a bath :,D -brick'd- I'm such a loser xD ))

((10k I has; I may have to contact them. 3nodding ))
Mikaril still felt as though he wasn't quite capable of dealing with a female that was so drastically different from his entire concept of a drow female; her behavior seemed so genuine; he found himself unconsciously believing in it. Absent was the treacherous half-smile, the sudden shifts of temperament, the constant demand to be respected and revered for her gender. He had never seen this kind of behavior in a female before, and it puzzled and unnerved him. Mikaril thought for a moment, then his face lit up. "Well, the Underdark's full of hot springs; why don't we find some?" He mentally thought it was a great idea; one thing that could most definitely hinder a potential thief was overripeness. He hoped then that he would be able to find some in such a setup that he would be able to bathe by himself and out of sight, knowing Jaeden was probably hoping the same thing anyway.
((I know just the thing. Hook horrors are sort of like roaches with vulture heads. It was the first thing that came to my mind, but I thought it might be a bit too much for just two drow. Maybe if we they ran into a juvenile?))

(( Yeah, a juvenile sounds alright :3 And how about Jaeden gets dragged off by the juvenile into a nest and Mikaril has to find her before they devour her? O3O; Haha, i'm a dork. Hmmm, maybe we should make it happen at the hot springs? Like they're ambushed after they bathe?))
Jaeden's eyes illuminated at the mention of a hot spring,"Oooh! Yeah! Let's go find one!!" She expressed with delight,"It shouldn't be too terribly hard to find one! They're all over the place in this region!" Jaeden smiled as her pace sped up, there was also giddy bounce in her stride.
Suddenly a wave of memory washed over Jaeden like storm waters,"Oooh!!! I have some soap I brought back from the surface world in the bottom of my rucksack! I think I have two bars! Wanna use some? Though it does smell kinda girly but it gets you nice and clean!" She smiled as she pulled the rucksack off of her shoulder and began to mine through it's contents. "Ah ha! Here they are!" She exclaimed as she withdrew two milky white ovals," Mmm, they smell like jasmine! A type of flower from the above world!" She explained as she handed a bar to Mikaril,"Go on! Smell it!" She encouraged with a grin.

((We'd probably be better off with a lair instead of a nest, since one hook horror is a lot for a drow to handle, let alone a nestful; taking out so many would make Mikaril look kinda invincible. XD And in case you're not familiar with the species, I found a picture: Pretty, isn't it? XD At the hot springs sounds good.))
Mikaril smiled, catching on to Jaeden's enthusiasm. "It'll be easy. Just look for the heat patterns on the rocks, and the steam patterns in the air." He focused his infrared vision ahead and thought he saw a tiny bit of heat signature not too far ahead. He made for it, but nearly bumped into Jaeden as she was exclaiming and rummaging through her belongings. He crinkled his nose at the mention of flowery soap; he preferred the plain unscented stuff, since one wasn't likely to smell flowers in the Underdark, and a nice flowery smell would be uncommon enough for an alert victim to try and discover it's source. Still, he figured, if they had a long journey ahead of them, it'd be plenty of time to get proper-smelling again. He took the preoffered bar with a little reluctance, the smell already entering his nose before he brought it anywhere near it. Still, he couldn't deny, it wasn't an unpleasant smell. "It smells alright," he said as he put it in the pocket of his cloak. He focused his vision ahead once more and this time there was definitely some heat among the rocks. He broke into a run and rounded a corner. There they were; three small pools of steaming water, making colorful heat patterns in the air and on the rocks. He quickly glanced around the area and didn't see anything else. He turned and beamed at Jaeden. "Pick a pool."

(( Holy crap! I had no clue they were so...HUGE O_O; Yeah, one will be plenty hard to battle on its own! ))
Jaeden strolled over to the pool on the far left, she removed her right shoe and placed her foot in it until she could feel the bottom. She did the same to the other two as well,"I want that one!" She said while pointing to the first one she had placed her foot in," It's the deepest!' She grinned,"Well, See ya in about an hour!" She added as she made her way over to the edge of pool. Once Jaeden had made sure she was concealed behind a large boudler she began to strip out of her clothing and neatly place them upon another small rock at the waters edge.
Slowly she slipped into the warm spring, the water felt so lush against her bare skin that it made her giggle with delight,"Ahhh! This is nice!" She sighed softly as the water caressed her skin. Jaeden took a deep breath and submerged herself into the depths of the pool, after a moment or two she returned to the surface, pieces of damp silver strands clung to the side of her face and back as she groped around for the bar of soap that sat on top of her clothes. Just as Jaeden was starting to lather up a strange thudding sound reverberated in the distance of the darkness beyond, Jaeden shrugged it off thinking it was probably just a few rocks falling or crumbling in the distance so she continued to cleanse herself.

((Aren't they purdy? XD))
Mikaril smiled and waved to her as she picked her pool. "Okay then; I'll be over here." He pointed to another pool half concealed behind a large stalagmite. "Call if you need anything." He moved behind the stalagmite and proceeded to strip down, taking off his armor and carefully laying it at the edge of the pool. He made absolutely certain that Jaeden was out of sight before he removed his hooded cloak. His hand reached up and lingered momentarily over his ear, then he sighed and sank down into the scalding water, enjoying the feeling of his skin softening at the touch of the hot water. He could vaguely remember being told about hot springs when he was younger; his sister had taken the opportunity to scare him about stories of stupid and hapless drow males who were burned alive when the deep earthen source of the hot springs reached out and seared them with boiling magma as they floundered about like fish in a stew. He had taken in every word until he had confided in his brother, who had laughed and told him that her words were nothing but an attempt to enforce her superior rank. "It's a bullying tactic," he had said, "I know plenty of drow who've enjoyed a hot spring, and none that I know of ever burned alive in one. Expect such things every time you see her or mother; it'll be harder to be cowed that way." He sighed as he sunk deeper in until he was up to his chin. He suddenly cocked his head so that one ear was up out of the water. He thought for an instant he had heard a strange sort of thudding, but it was hard to tell for sure over the cacophany of hisses and bubbling of the hot springs. He closed his eyes, but left his ears open, just in case.

{{ Heck yeah! It's so prettyful 8D}}
Jaeden had just gotten dressed when the same thudding sound from earlier arose into the air once more, but this time it sounded much closer. And like last time Jaeden disregarded it, besides if something wanted to come after her it would have already attacked, Of course! Jaeden was gravely mistaken. The thump became dull and stopped again, Jaeden stifled an irritated sigh as she picked up her rucksack and slung it over her shoulder, "I swear! That's so annoying! What the hell is it?" She grumbled,"Hmph! Just when I find a place to relax..." She mumbled under her breath as she bent over to pick up the bar of soap she had almost forgotten. Thud-thud-thud, it started again and this time, unmistakably, it was growing in volume and creeping closer with each step. Jaeden's heart began to hammer against her ribcage, a sick twisting sensation in her gut told her something was wrong. She groped for the bar of soap as quickly as possible and just as she held it in her grasp it slipped from her fingers and fell to the ground. She bent over to seize the soap for a second time and then her heart just stopped, the thump had grown to a thunderous bang and she could feel the vibrations beneath her feet, something massive was walking towards her. "Calm down Jaeden! Get ahold of your self!" She cooed to herself as she haphazardly thrusted the soap into her bag and began walking at a quick pace. Though Jaeden had faced many life threatening situations before, the thought of something hidden within the folds of darkness watching her was not only aesthetically unpleasant but made her feel rather defenseless as well.
WHAM- Something hard hit Jaeden in stomach, knocking her off of her feet and forcing all the air out of her. She was sprawled on her back a good few feet away from the springs, her head spun and a white hot pain sprung into life where she had been hit as she gasped for breath. As if in a daze like state, she tilted her head back to see who her assailant was and glaring back down at her were two vivid yellow orbs attached to a fibrous bird like head and a colossal armored insect body. Jaeden let out a blood curdling shriek that echoed throughout the area, "This is it! I'm going to die!" where the only thoughts that filled her mind.

((They had a 6-legged panther with a whip-tail in the stories too, but there wasn't enough info on it for me to suggest. XD))
Mikaril continued to relax and tried to ignore the constant thudding, but when they got close enough for him to see ripples from the vibration in the water around him, a dozen alarm bells went off in his head, and he carefully eased himself out of the water and began dressing himself. He tried to hurry and be silent at the same time; he didn't know what it was, but he wasn't risking the chance that despite it's own ruckus, it had exceptional hearing. As he carefully placed his hood in it's customary position, he ventured a small call. "Jaeden?" He was answered by a shriek, and he promptly drew his small dagger and rushed toward the pool where he had left Jaeden. When he saw the hook horror, his eyes went huge; when it came to deadly Underdark denizens, you couldn't get much worse than a hook horror. Luckily, this one seemed to be smaller than average; a juvenile? he thought. He saw it making it's lumbering way to Jaeden, and he noticed that she seemed dazed and hurt. In a panic, he summoned a globe of darkness and promptly dropped it onto the creature's ugly head. He racked his brain for a hook horror's possible weak spots, since it was almost covered in thick armor, and he realized with gut-wrenching dread that the only place he could think of was now shrouded in darkness that would take a bit to dissipate. He dashed over to Jaeden, avoiding the exaggerated swings of the hook horror's massive claws, and crouched down beside her. "Are you allright? Can you move?"

(( Oooh! Maybe we can make up our own species and use it in our RP later? :3 ))
Jaeden forced her body, against it's unwilling injuries, to sit up,"Y-yeah I think so!" She replied while straining to stand, the metallic taste of blood pervaded her mouth and caught her by surprise so she immediately spat. Her abdomen also began to ached terribly," Actually I'm not ok! I-i'm hurt really bad." Jaeden choked back tears, she had never felt so weak in her life before. Her legs began to tremble beneath the weight of her body,"I got hit harder than I thought" She began to run as fast as her feet would allow her in her current condition, "Your in front of me right?" Jaeden's vision was blurring obscuring Mikaril from sight so she wanted to make certain her was infront of her.
The lumbering stomps of the hook horror could still be heard from behind. Is it still close? Is it leaving? Will it come after us? All of these were questions rushing through Jaeden's mind.
(( Meh. My post is kinda blah this time xD ))

((Yes maybe. ^^))
Mikaril noted Jaeden spitting up blood, but he didn't say anything, since at the moment, the top priority was to get as far away from the hook horror as possible. He ran after her, dagger clenched tightly in his hand and sparing the occasional look back. He ran in front, then deliberately fell back behind her. He wasn't about to let her fall behind and become prey to the beast that from what his ears could tell was angry as well as in pursuit. He didn't think that Jaeden could keep this pace for very long. There was nothing for it. He scanned the area they were running in until he noticed an incline off to the right that led up to a ledge that wasn't too high and offered a good view of the corridor. A crazy idea came into his head, and as he looked at Jaeden, it solidified. He reached out and tapped Jaeden on the shoulder, shouting to be heard over the rumble of the pursuing monster. "I have an idea! It's a crazy one, but it's all we've got unless you have any ideas yourself! Can I borrow the longest knife you have?!"

(( Ugh! I hate the time change where I live @_@; Do you have to Spring forward where you live? ))
"Here!" Jaeden wheezed as she feel to her knees and fumbled around for her longest knife,"Got it!" She said as she unstrapped a knife from her thigh belt,"I hope...it'll work." She handed the knife to Mikaril quickly. She could feel all the enrgy left in her body slowly begin to drain away, she couldn't hold out much longer and the pain in her stomach swelled to an excruciating level. "Mikaril...I-i'm sorry..." Where the last words she managed to utter before everything surged white then faded to black. She had pushed her injured body to it's limit, Jaeden fell with a muffled thud to the ground.
"Ya know' your weak, Jaeden..." Zane taunted as he he stood before Jaeden as she sobbed over her parents bloodied corpses, "They didn't give a damn about us! Father thought we were half blood scum and mother took pity upon us...Didn't you hate that? Them looking down upon us like insects?" Jaeden didn't reply. "Yet...here you are weeping when you should be celebrating...your so weak..." The word 'weak' echoed through the fortifications of Jaeden's mind, repeating itself over and over like a broken record. She was weak! She couldn't even help Mikaril in this perilous moment! She hated this feeling of helplessness!
