well after lurking in this topic and not posting i finally decided to research them today and most of these things seem to describe me. the antisocial and daydreaming thing being the main points.
but also ever since i was in the 1st grade i was on ADD drugs of all types and have alway been depressed. well a few years ago i jut quit the drugs, cold turkey, and all of a sudden i felt awake, like i had been asleep my entire life. i think my depression was caused by the drugs. also after getting off the drugs my thought process has become a little more manic lol
but also ive always been able to tell when someone wasnt being honest about something. my instincts about people i meet face to face have hardly ever been wrong.

That sounds more like empathic abilities than the whole Indigo child. That and you describe features of Bi polar. (that which I am Bi-Polar N. O.S.) Drugs for ADD or ADHD can cause depression and when coupled with antidepressant types could send a person into a suicidal path if you are bi-polar. Which I know all too well. Now it is common that people do grow out of being ADD and ADHD. for some it gets worse. As for the quitting cold turkey thing, yea I did that as well and had the same realization. Even more so most pills for ADD and ADHD kinda turn you into a zombie. not fun I assure you. Kinda feels like an outer body experience. It isin't until you quit taking the meds that you tend to get that "i am awake" feeling. The whole anti social behavior and daydreaming thing is just part of your personality. nothing wrong with that. I'm usually a daydreamer who like to contemplate the workings of the world and tend to into deep thought about a lot of stuff. Well tha'ts about all I really have to say on the suject. i dont think im bi polar, but then again ive never seen someone who could tell me one way or the other. and ive never met anyone else with add who stopped taking their meds so thanks for telling me im not the only one who felt that way after getting off that crap

I for one believe most 'indigo children' are not actually indigos. Oh there are indigo children, I know this for a fact! But they are much rarer than anyone actually believes.
Most of the time the label is attached to the kid by a mommy who wants to convince others that her little hell spawn is just misunderstood and special.
"Oh, my little girl (who has never been told "no" or disciplined a day in her life...) acts like royalty, she must be an indigo child!" Never mind that she is NOT psychic or spiritual, NOT a loner, and NOT empathic, She has one symptom of being special so she MUST be!
Parents do it all the time. Latch on to some label; Indigo, autistic, ADHD, to explain away their child's bad behavior rather than correcting it, which would take a lot of time and work. Because after all who wants to put time and work into raising their kid.
Also, whether the kid is indigo or not most parents tend to believe that you can't or should not discipline and indigo child. They are still children and like any child they do need guidance and structure! Perhaps even more than other kids. It is HOW you discipline them that matters. If you tell them "Clean your room because I said so!" they will not likely clean their room. They may even mess it up more in protest.
Explain why things need to be done. ("some one might trip on your toys and hurt themselves/break the toy.") Give them options. ("Would you like peas or green beans with dinner.") And tell them why why need to be punished ("I am taking the T.V. away for today because you and your brother fight over it.")
Of course these discipline methods work with any child, but take a lot more time and thought than the traditional "Because I said so!"

I wouldn't say they are rare. Maybe a tad uncommon but not rare. in fact from what I have seen, Most people do have such said abilities but don't use it or cant use it. But as far as anything else you have said, yea I would agree. Parents do love to label their children and love to make up excuses for bad parenting.

DON'T LOOK AT ME!!! Being an indigo child has been big part of my life and has helped me in many ways. I could possible, give you the title of the book Iread to help with your self-discovery.
When I was little I was diagnosed with a form of autism. I have no physichal, or educational signs of it, just emotional.okay you can look >.>
