In the movie Harry Potter and the goblet of fire Voldemort calls lily a muggle but she is a muggleborn. Or if you want to be that way 'mudblood'.

"At the end of the fourth book it says the carraiges are still horseless... when in reality, at that time, Harry should be able to see the thestrals because that was after Diggory died.
Please ignore my horrid spelling... "
The theory behind this is that in order to see the thestrals, the death must sink in and be accepted by the witness. Luna and Neville had both already had time to think about and accept the deaths that allowed them to see the thestrals.

I may be wrong ,but oh well. In the first book Hagrid said that Lily and James Potter were head boy and girl. But (I forgot which book) Lupin said that he was a prefect, that meaning that James couldn't have been a prefect.

Diaga-chan jessiekitten The Fluff At the end of the fourth book it says the carraiges are still horseless... when in reality, at that time, Harry should be able to see the thestrals because that was after Diggory died. Please ignore my horrid spelling... i agree with you. Harry should have been able to see the horses then. *shrugs* JKRowlings makes up her mind about how the books go not us. i have a theory about that... perhaps you have to actually see the person die/be killed to see the thestrals? when harry and diggory were at the grave yard, harry's was facing the ground, and was blinded by pain. he didn't actually see diggory get killed, only heard what was going on around him...
but that's just me...No because when he came back the next year he could see them and he hadnt seen anyone die over the summer, so that can't be it. It's probably just an oversight. NO writer ever notices and remembers every little thing. Not only that, perhaps at first when she wrote about it, she actually meant for them to be enchanted, horseless carriges. Then , while writing the fifth book, she got the idea for it. I mean, she's not writing them all at once, and she's not clearly not thinking ahead much while writing.

Ok, I'm just saying this from memory, so I have no idea if it's true or not, my copy of SS fell to peices years ago and I've been waiting for DH so I could have the whole set in hard cover.
If i recall correctly (not that I'm saying I do, I could be very very wrong), crabbe and goyle are introduced on the train, and they aren't first years. I think they might have been third years... but i'm not sure. I'm probably wrong, but i have this constant thought that they were in a different year than harry and draco... if i'm right, then j.k. forgot this in later books, because they seem to be in the same year as the others.
