These are the players that I think that are going to have a breakout year:

Chad Billingsley
Stephen Drew
Lastings Milledge
Fred Lewis
Yeah I agree those are good predictions.

Those are very good predictions. I just hope Fred Lewis gets playing time... Yeah, I'm confident with Lastings Milledge, and maybe even Elijah Dukes because Washington is a good change of scenery. By the way, Boston, I really hope the Reds win the division! Nothing against the Cubs, but it would be nice to see a new team in October.

Those are some great post. I pretty much agree with everything you said.

NL Central

{This is the weakest division in all of baseball, I think the Cubs are the clear winner}

1. Chicago Cubs
2. Milwaukee Brewers
3. Cincinnati Reds
4. Houston Astros
5. St. Louis Cardinals
6. Pittsburgh Pirates

Those are good predictions but St.Louis is going to win the division.

If they stay healthy they'll have a pretty good shot but right now I think the Cubs and Reds both have a better shot then the Cards.

The Reds can hit for power, yet do not do the little things that win ballgames (stealing, defense, hit for average). The Cubs have a good lineup and starting pitchers, but are weak in the bullpen.

...I still think it will go Cubs, Brewers, Cardinals, Astros, Reds, Pirates

As long as the Cubs lineup performs and as long as their starters pitch well, their bullpen should not be a huge worry. I know it sounds strange to say that, but their bullpen is mediocre at the moment. If they choose their closer wisely, and if key members such as Scott Eyre and Carlos Marmol and Bob Howry pitch well, then their bullpen will be pretty solid. The key to them winning games is their ability to finish games. If they do that, then they will have a strong hold over first place.

Well the Cubs oddly didn't play like their typical record. They had huge hot streaks where players like Soriano performed outstanding. Then they had ice-cold slumps that killed them. 1908 - 2008...a one hundred year gap may be able to send the Cubs another WS title...? wink

Those are some really bias prediction. And the Red sox out of the playoff? That's funny.

Nobody change their predictions or make false judgements yet, based on just a week of baseball.

...It's been crazy so far, but things should turn around quite soon. Don't get scared are the current standings. The Yankees and Red Soxs are at the bottom of the AL East. The Mets and Phillies at the bottom or NL East. The Tigers are 0-6. The Rockies are 1-5. More crazy s*** is happenin'

I hope things start turning around soon. I know the trip has taken a toll on the Red sox but that's no excuse, they are getting paid millions to win games. So they better start performing like they are the defending champs.
