It was true, her glare had left her. It was replaced with an indifferent stare. There was no sing of feeling in Poison's face, as if she were a robot of some sort. The kit's head was still on the ground as she looked up to the godling.
"Well, to you it might be, but for me it is just my life." She shrugged a little. Her tone had not change in it. "Something wrong? No." Poison answered, looking up to the black and silver kit. He grabbed her attention and wouldn't let go of it.

This went farther than her earlier seeming indifference, though, whatever she said. Even Kuragari could see that much - the absence of feeling was something he was all too familiar with. Like the night after he had met that first kit...
He stiffened slightly, anticipating the onslaught of memories he would rather forget again, but this time there was nothing except for Poison's fire burning in the darkness around them, and the whirring of night-insects.
"You're... different," he couldn't help but muse aloud, unnerving gaze still fixed on the other kit. Different from her. From everything that he had thought normal kits were like. His voice sounded slightly unsure. "Why is that?"

She shot him an interested glance. "I'm different?" Her eyes were dull and they looked as though she had never showed emotion before. No emotion sat on her face as she looked at the godling.
Her fire marked ears flicked a little. She was listening to him, but at the same time not. One should always be paying attention to their surroundings. Poison closed her eyes for a few seconds to just listen in silence before answering his question.
"Why is a good question." Poison finally said at last, her eyes opening and looking around at the dark forest surrounding the two. Her fire casted eerie shadows on the trees that surrounded them.

"Yes," he replied slowly, eyes half closed in thought. "I don't know." Why did things always have to be so confusing? He thought he would never understand other ulaya; not that there was any real need for him to do so. Just take what you need, and leave...
He closed his eyes all the way, letting Poison's outline be caught up completely by darkness, and listened to the night sounds of the forest around them. Whatever had prompted him to take that other kit's fear had not shown itself since. Maybe it wouldn't again.
But he thought he knew otherwise.
"You have a brother, you said," Kuragari finally said, opening his bright eyes to watch the path hers watchfully traced through the trees. "Why is he not with you?"

She looked around a little longer before turning her stare towards him. No emotion sat on her face, it looked as though she had never felt emotion ever in her life. When he eyes closed, she let her own eyes blink a little, but they stayed open, looking at the other kit.
"What makes me different from the other ulaya you have met?" She asked, eyeing him then looking away towards the trees which had shadows that looked as though they were arms reaching out for whatever they could grab. Her fire did make eerie shadows most of the time.
"My brother..." She said thinking about that other kit that she was with when she came out of that cramped cube shaped thing. "Well, I guess he is out by himself... probably doing whatever he finds fun." Poison said with a indifferent tone in her voice.

Kuragari looked through her for a moment, thinking. Come to think of it, he didn't really have much basis for comparison, besides that one kit he had met and what little he had heard from his mother, but... "You were so angry. At everything, like you wanted to hurt something. And now you're... not." He sighed a little in exasperation at his inability to explain himself, an uncharacteristic display of emotion.
The godling nodded a little in agreement at her explanation. He didn't really find the same things fun as his siblings did either, and he could understand that about her, at least.

Poison shrugged her shoulders at the black kit's explanation of how she was acting. "I didn't notice." She answered simply. The purple kit eyed the area for a moment longer before growing bored with the other kit's small talk. This kit was far more interesting than the others she had met before, he actually had a brain.
As she grew more bored, she stood up and looked around for an escape route. Quietly, she walked off, but before she was completely gone, she said simply, "Bye Kuragari." He deserved at least that much she guessed.

Indifferently cruel and cruelly indifferent. Filled with anger and filled with apathy. Ulaya were such contradictions, Kuragari thought to himself. And Poison truly had not noticed?
She was ready to leave without a second glance, that much was clear. Probably he should feel insulted that even a god would not be worth more than a moment of her time, but there was nothing. Perhaps some of her calm had finally moved to claim him as its own.
Or perhaps it had been there all along.
He stared after her for a long moment, watching the flicker of her hot fire disappear among the trees. "Good bye," the godling finally whispered, when all around him the forest was dark again. "...Poison." Later, in between dreams of fear and torment, he would remember that strange encounter. Maybe imagine her, fierce and alone, looking up at the same stars and the dawning of morning.
He left then, stalking the shadows of the night back the way that she had come.
