Pumpkin chuckled and shook her head "maybe that's part of it, but removing their pelts, their strange powers and smells...it's strange to me." She slipped further into the forest relaxing now that they weren't in the open and exposed.
"Though I suppose your right, they might think we were strange...if they spoke our tongue." She tilted her head and mulled the idea over, she had never thought other animals strange despite how different they were and that they could not communicate with her. She did not speak the language of the squirrel or the deer, yet to her they were as natural and normal as the forest.

Xenon nodded. "I suppose it is. Although, we still can't understand their process of thought." He said softly, still looking to Pumpkin.
The wolf blinked at that idea. "Is that so? What if they found us more fanscinating, rather than strange?" He asked, quickening his pace so that he would be walking along side with her. His ears twitched slightly. "I think that if they spoke our tongue, there would be understanding between the two races. Wouldn't you?"

Pumpkin smiled softly her jack o lantern markings making her mouth seem wider. "I like to think we could all get along...but I'm not certain." She sat down in a small clearing.
"Do you think other wolves have gone close? Have spoken to them and tried to see what their all about?" She tilted her head curiously, for she often wondered if another braver then she could have met the two legged ones and understood the ways that seemed so strange to her.

Xenon looked to the girl in amusement. The way that her face almost sinisterly smiled to him intrigued him. "You are not certain? Why do you believe that?" He asked, and took a seat near her. His ear twitched a bit.
"I believe, there have been wolves that have gotten close. There are clever wolves out there. Some stupid, but clever." He said with a nod. The skunk blinked. "Hmm. Spoken to them? I doubt it, but I wouldn't know. I could be wrong. From what I know, I know little to none about those two-leggers." The wolf tried his best to keep his focus on her or keep himself on topic. His unnatural obsession usually drove others away, and he believed he was behaving fairly well. After a quiet pause, he looked back to Pumpkin. "What do you think?"

She tried to keep from smiling for she knew her markings would only move into a wider more wicked looking grin. Pumpkin knew her dark eyes with their vibrant yellow unsettled others and she in turn had tried to be accommodating by keeping smiles from her face, and averting her gaze. Yet this wolf didn't seem to mind, if anything he shared her amusement.
"We are each so different, even among out own kind we quarrel. Packs fight each other, we hunt the stag and doe, rabbits flee from us, the cunning lynx flees after the rabbits for it's meal. If we of the forest cannot live in peace, then why would adding another kind make us all get along? Still...It's good the balance we have here and now, I don't think it would be good for it to be disrupted." She gave a soft nod glancing at the forest now sheltering them.
"I think I should like to ask a wolf who has gotten close enough to know what they are all about." She watched him oblivious to his obsession.
