"Will do. Thanks for the warning." The view would be splendid. Or he could always look over the side of the cliff.
((Yeah, so bad, but I couldn't help it. sweatdrop ))
He followed behind, making sure to watch where he was going, so as not to get distracted and fall. While he could probably catch himself with his wings, if he managed to hit a wing against the cliff while trying he could easily break it, and then he'd be doomed.
((doing good!))

((It's not that bad. *shrugs*
Well then. Let's get this puppy wrapped up. *rubs hands together.))
She trotted the ledge easily. She'd done it too many times to really not know where to step. They approached the cave but she walked passed the entrance to let him go in first. "It's here" She pipped. "I'll let you go in first. I think you'll like." She waited for him to enter knowing she'd have to go it backwards to allow it but ready. She did afterall, as he'd said, know these cave pretty well.

He nodded his thanks, though he wasn't sure she'd see it. There was a bit more space right outside the cave, so he had room to turn in without having to contort. It also meant room to land. He turned into the cave, making it in a few paces before he looked up. He stopped in wonder, still mostly blocking the entrance. "It's... wonderful." And it was. There must be some sort of lake at the top of the cliff, for there was a small pool where fresh, clear water peeked out from the rocks before continuing it's way down, deep inside the cliff. The ceiling must have been wrong, or the location, or it might have been because Beauty lived so near by, but no bats lived here. He did not see so much as a speck of their droppings. The floor was fairly even, with only a couple rocky protrusions, while the ceiling was covered in lacy, delicate stalactites. It was not so big as to feel empty, but had enough room that a couple Kylan could live here comfortably. Some grasses for a bed and a few stores set by, just in case, and it would be perfect. Ace was not sure why Beauty had not chosen this cave herself. Maybe she had not found it until after settling in, and had not wanted to move. He would have moved.

Beauty backed in and turned to see him oggleing the cave. "It's a little bigger than mine." She admitted sheepishly. "But pretty. And nice. But I always thought it was a tad too big for just me. I like my cozy little cave." She shrugged and watched him. He really seemed to like it. "So you've made you choice?" She asked curiously. "I could show you others." She admitted.

Ah, that explained it. Too big for just her... "Oh, no need! This is perfect. Maybe a tad on the big side for one Kylan, but so beautiful, it more than makes up for it." And it was. Even if he hadn't had plans of, hopefully, adding another occupant or so eventually, he would have stayed with this choice. It was truly magnificent.

She nodded. "Well if your truly happy with it then I suppose that is all that matters." She turned her head to look at the exit. "Well I guess I'll go home and let you settle in." Beauty turned around fully but as she exited she said, "In the mornings I go flying just after breakfast. If you'd like to join me you may." She trotted out the entrance and onto the cliff toward her own home. What was most odd was that she didn't feel weird having him so close by. More comforted than anything. She yawned and decided that a nap would do her good. Help her cement the happenings of the day.

"I think I'll do that! Come by when you're ready, I'll be here." Ace was sorry to see her go, but there were a few things he would need to do before going to bed tonight, if he wanted to sleep here. He'd need at least some bedding, for the floor was rock, and not exactly comfortable. Gathering food now for breakfast might not be a bad idea, that way he would not miss her when she decided to go flying in the morning. He was honored and still a little surprised that she was not only willing to have him live so near here, but had indeed suggested the location. With that food for thought, he flew down to the forest below to gather food and bedding.Part 1 Fin!

Part #2! ((*cracks knuckles* And here we go!)) It had been several weeks since he'd moved in next door. They'd gone flying everyday since and spent lots of time with each other otherwise, flying, eating, talking. She'd loved all of it. It had been so different from the first part of her life. For indeed he saw each as two different parts. The one before Ace and the one after. Slowly Beauty had begun to realize how much she needed him. How empty the minuets were without him. How lonely and cold her small cave was. He'd been patient with her. Amazingly patient! Which was his god send but she was now ready to take the step to make him hers. Tell him she loved him. And she was going to do it on this mornings flight.
She gotten up early to eat and then wash carefully. She wanted to be clean and neat for him the day she announced her feelings. She'd preened her feathers and everything. Hoping that it all wouldn't be in vain. Quietly she flew up to entrance of his cave. He'd made it very nice. His bed was made of lush foliage and he even had a store of food in the corner. "Ace? Are you here? It's time to go flying." She called from the entrance before entering.

Ace looked up, having just finished his breakfast. They had been flying together each morning ever since that first, and he had the timing down. Not like that first morning, when she'd come in and he'd still been asleep! He was glad she'd been willing to wait for him to eat before going flying. Over the weeks, through gestures and little signs, he'd come to believe that she really did like him, and that she might be open to taking that a step farther than just friendship. None if it was intentional, but he could see it in the way she sought his company, sat closer to him than she used to, and in a certain light in her eyes when she looked at him. These and other signs had emboldened him, and today he planned to confess his love for her. He believed she would except, but was still nervous. There was always the possibility that he had read the signs wrong. He hoped that was not the case. "Hey! just let me wash up real quick, and I'm all ready!"

Beauty smiled and turned to leave. "Ok. Let's go." She excited the cave and jumped the ledge into a dive then threw her wings out hard. Soaring upward. Shear joy. Always. But especially today. She caught an updraft and glided. Waiting for him. Allways. I want it my life to be like this always., she thought.

Ace slashed some water on his face to clean off any food that might have gotten stuck there, then turned and followed Beauty in to the clear, open air. Freedom, contentment, happiness, these emotions had always been linked to flying for him. But now there was another that could make him feel that way, even with all four feet firmly planted on the ground. He felt that he would sooner give up his wings than give up her. He just hoped she would have him, plain as he was.

((I've had so many urges to use Maximum Ride like quotes about flying during this. I'm so freaking weird. >_> ))
When he'd caught up she called back. "So were are we going today Ace? Just flying or do you have a place in mind?" She personally lover begin high in the clouds but whatever was fine with her so long as she was flying with him. She tipped a wing and spun to fly beside him.

"I actually had something in mind." he replied, lowering his voice when she got closer. He'd found a beautiful, hidden cave on the far side of the cliff from theirs. The entrance was very small, he could only just fit through, and hidden by vines, but inside it was very large. He was fairly sure she had not found it, or she would have shown it to him before this. It made his cave look like a pathetic, plain crack in the cliff by comparison. It was the perfect place to confess his love for her.

She blinked a few times at him but nodded. "Uh. Okay. Lead the way." She personally would have preferred to stay in the sky but whatever he wanted was fine with her. She dipped and spun so she was flying behind him to follow.

"This way."Ace smiled to himself at her confusion. He could see her disappointment that they weren't just going to fly, but he hoped that the cave would make up for that. If she didn't like his surprise, he had a lot more to worry about than her being disappointed over a short flight. The cave entrance was about midway up the cliff, with a good sized ledge out front. Thick vines grew over most of the cliff face here, and the entrance to his cave was completely hidden. He would not have found it, but he had tripped while exploring here one day, and landed against the vines that hid the entrance. Curious when he did not feel rock beneath them, he had pushed them aside, and had found the small opening. Further investigation had revealed the wondrous cave. He landed on the ledge, turning to watch Beauty.
