"Well...she doesn't poke him. She merely taps his shoulders with the sword. But she doesn't pet him." Just to let the boy know that technically he was right. But valuable lesson to let the women win from time to time. "Introduce." Saying the word, even if the child couldn't probably even understand it, but as he knew the child didn't need to to introduce himself. Turning eyes to the little girl who had come to swing as well, but apparently she'd gotten hold of the swining motions already.
Taking her juice she sat down in the patted spot and sipped at her juice happily as any child, slipping in an animal cracker from time to time...and not squeezing the box because that made it go alllllll over and mommy didn't like that. But another look to her mother, then over to the sqings where her brother and father were. Swallowing down a mouthful of juice, she promptly too a deep breath...and yelled out across the park. "Tooooooobbbbby! Yous want snackies?!"

Addy tried to commit his name to memory and hoped she wouldn't forget it. Toby.
"Sissy is Lilly," she said when it was asked. "What 'bout your sissy? What's her name?" Two names couldn't be all that much harder than one.
Addy grunted as she pushed herself higher by swinging her legs back and forth. It was slow work, but she was beginning to get somewhere. In a moment or so, she would be swinging instead of just swaying really.
Japi watched her daughter's independent attempt at swinging and sighed.
Lilly just sat quietly in her mother's lap eating her snack and watching too. She and Mommy had many a day like this, sitting in the garden, quietly watching the birds and flowers.
Lilly looked down at her blanket and saw it had a little sticker burr attached to it. "Pokey seed Mommy," she said pointing to it.
"That's right," Japi said. "It's called a sticker burr." She went to take it off of the blanket but Lilly interrupted.
"No, leave it Mommy," she said. "It likes my blanket," she guessed. It must have, because it clung so tightly.
"You're not afraid it'll poke you?" Japi asked.
Lilly shook her head.
Japi sighed a laugh and decided she'd have to take it off later, after Lilly had forgotten about it. She hoped Lilly didn't intend to try and plant it in the garden. It would certainly choke out some of the other plants.
She dreaded the day when she would have to explain to Lilly about weeds. Until then, "All plants are created equal." was Lilly's way of thinking.

"And sometimes the king does it if he's still kickin' right, Daddy?" Because then he would be super-right or something like that. Not that he would tell his sister that. Another glance to the girl beside him and he twisted to look at his sister as he was called. "Lici." Letting his legs brush against the sand, he kicked his legs. "Daddy! Stops it!" Waiting for him to stop the swing so he didn't jump off and hurt himself, he went running over. "Yeah!"
Sam covered her face with her hand since that hadn't been at all what she meant. She'd meant for her daughter to actually go over to the swings but that wasn't in the toddler's mind and she really should know better. Fixing a box of juice for her son and handing him an open bag of animal crackers, she patted the spot next to his sister and made sure he plopped his butt and wouldn't move while he was eating. "After you finish your snacks, we're going to play for just a few more minutes and then we'll have to head home." The sun was still harsh on their eyes and she and Xearus had talked about minimal exposure at first. Just enough to get them used to it.

She finished her crackers, licking crumbs off hsi fingers and sucked down the rest of her juice, the box caving in on itself. But then a frown as her mother mentioned home. "No mommy! Playing!" She kicked her feet a little in protest with some whimpering. She didn't want to go home yet!
"Right." Before wrinkling his nose under his shades as his daughter screamed across the park for her brother who appatently was more than happy to head off after the swing was stopped. Giving a look to the little girl left behind, she got a smile and deciding it was okay to leave her there since her mother was in vision line, he followed his son back over. "Mom's right, we can't play all day or you'll run out of fun things to do." Backing up his wife's words before he reached into his back pocket and pulled out hsi wallet, pulling a crisp white card with logos and clear black print on it, holding it out to Japi. "I'm sure there will be fussing if they never see each other again. So if you're interested, here's my card. Has out home number on it." Turning a look to his daughter though at her fussing. "Enough of that now or you're not getting dessert tonight."

Addy smiled back at Toby's Daddy as he left, showing that she'd be fine by herself.
Japi smiled brightly and took the card and looked it over, locating the home number pretty easily.
"I'll be sure to call sometime," she said nodding. She was glad they hadn't tried to exchange numbers, since Japi hadn't even gotten a phone yet. But she was excited that they'd already found some other kids to play with the girls.
Lilly was finishing up her snack too. She looked over to her new friends and smiled.
"We can play again tomorrow," she reassured them. "Right Mommy?"
"Well," Japi didn't want to make a firm commitment to it, or she'd be accused of breaking promises later. "Maybe not tomorrow, but definitely soon."
That was good enough for Lilly, so she nodded her approval.

He ate his snack slowly, taking his time to drink his juice and watching as his sister had gone back to the sandbox to play while he finished. Mommy said a few more minutes. Handing off his trash, he slipped down off the bench and joined her to play.
She used the time to pack up the bag and dispose of the trash while Xearus took care of making arrangements to keep in contact. He was good for that, always had his cards and whatnot on him. She never could find the little case Xe had had monogrammed for her but knew it was somewhere in the diaper bag. Calling the twins, she listened to a bit of fussing from both but shook her head as Xearus' threat from earlier resonated and they left the park. "Say goodbye kids." Waving to Japi and walking off with Xearus. Sun was beginning to make her dizzy and that was not a good thing.

She wasn't happy about it, but she'd do it. Thus in from the sandbox with her as they were called back for a final time and she gave a wave and smile to her new friends with a giggle before weasling daddy into picking her up to carry her, resting her head against his shoulder. "Bye byes!"
He chuckled as he picked up his daughter and ushered his other child to his mother as they gave their own goodbyes to the little family they had met at the park, starting back down the sidewalk to the parking lot nearby. Settling kids into the carseats he slipped into the drivers seat and shook his head. "Sun is still evil in my opinion."

Lilly went to the sandbox to play for a last few minutes with her new friends.
Addy jumped up off the swing when she saw Lici and Lilly head back to the sand box and played there too.
Japi and the girls all waved when the family finally left and to the girls' disappointment, Japi decided it was time for them to leave too.
