He shook his head in amusement. Oh how different the two of them were. Jokes were not Djakovo's main strength. Perhaps simply sitting there and listening was, but so far as talking went, he hardly ever made jokes for fear they would end up sounding offensive.
But Gahjii's agreement to what Gurami had told him was almost a confirmation that talking was a good thing. Perhaps just once in a while, he could forget about the fact that words could make enemies, and just say what he wanted. Maybe the real joy in life was being able to say whatever he wanted to say and not have to worry a bout the consequences.
And he would remember that, and perhaps one of these days he would come across Gahjii again with some more to say. Just maybe.
He was glad the both of them had relaxed, and for a while he just sat watching the clouds slowly drift across the sky. How strange the day was. Instead of making an enemy, he had made something of a friend. In spite of some of the words exchanged between himself and Gahjii earlier on. So perhaps Gahjii was living, breathing proof that though words could offend, words too could amend.
And he would remember that. For when he got up from his spot later and left, he knew he faced a good chance that he would never see the black cheetah again. But Gahjii would always symbolize something special for Djakovo, so perhaps that alone would be fate enough for them to meet again.

When the sun got too high up in the sky, Jii got up and bade the dark lion farewell:
"Well, I gotta find a shadowy spot to rest in before high noon sets in, or I'll dry up and die like a fish out of water. But good luck to ya, Djak! Maybe we'll meet again sometime. I'll keep an eye out for your sister, just in case. See ya 'round, big guy!"
Trotting away from the scrawny tree, which was a bit too small for his needs, anyway, Gahiji held his head up high and smiled happily to himself. If only all lions in this world could be more like Djakovo, forgiving and slow to anger, life would be so much easier - for all the weaker species. He did hope to encounter the big guy again, even though he knew the chances were small.
He knew for certain that he would be looking out for a dark female lion with golden spots, though. It was the least he could do.
((Thank you for RPing with me! I enjoyed it!))
