Kashi stared at Reaol with disbelief and stopped laughing immediately; she had never even considered the possibility that Reaol didn't know what being an elder meant. Kashi sat down calmly and decided that this situation would only be made worse if she was her usual cert self. Impatience would most likely just panic the already panicked Reaol even more. She curled her tail around her paws and peered up defiantly into Reaol's eyes. "You have grown Mr. Reaol, into an elder. It is a form that a dragonfly is able to take when they reach a sort of... enlightenment, if you will..." Kahsi paused for only a moment to think what could have possibly triggered Reaol's growth into an elder, but she quickly discerned this information and unimportant to the current situation and dropped it.
"Much like our great guardian, Drachus, you have grown into a form consisting of power and understanding. As far as I know, this is as far as you can grow as a dragonfly." Kashi stopped for a moment to let the information sink in before taking a deep breath and continuing, "According too my knowledge on this subject, every dragonfly is aligned with one of five elements; water, earth, fire, air, or void. Every dragonfly, no matter what the stage of development he or she is at, has an element they are closest too. It isn't until you are an elder that you can harness this element to your advantage. As an elder you gain the ability to control your element, and ever elder has their own power or ability. An elder of the water element can control water, just as an elder of a fire element can control fire. It is a simple idea... Now in your case, you MUST be able feel the difference of power coursing through your body now in comparison to your old body. It is up to you now too look inside of yourself and figure out what your element truly is, and what power you have obtained with it... Am I making any sense here....?" Kashi didn't want too fill Reaol with any excess information, but she truly did believe that and educated dragonfly is a more pleasant dragonfly to be around.

Dark...Cold...Powerful. Reaol's mind turned as he tried to make sense of this new, strong feeling inside of him. He didn't like it, not one bit, but if it was now apart of him as Kashi was suggesting then maybe he should accept it? Though...he wasn't entirely sure what "it" was. It certainly couldn't be any of the basic elements, air, fire, water, or earth. Then what was it...void? What the hell is void!? The only definition he could piece together of what a void was wasn't helping either. The lack of everything..nothingness..is that what he'd become? Attached to the nothingness of the earth...an empty soul? How the hell does that match the definition of a raised enlightenment!?
"Reaol...Reaol calm down." Basalt was awake now and his tone was unlike anything Reaol had heard from him before. He spoke to him like he was child, a very slow child. Reaol growled.
"Basalt...go away" his words were spoken aloud instead of in his mind, and he didn't care who heard them. Kashi seemed to have accepted the fact he was crazy..and if she cold..then why couldn't the rest of the world?
"No. You have finally reached your ultimate potential...and here you wine like the true weakling you are." Basalt's voice sneered and Reaol jumped as he saw Basalt materialize in front of him. That was new. Great...now he was hallucinating! However Reaol was unaware that Basalt had indeed "materialized" in front of him...for all to see.
Cobalt had then appeared next to him, "Dude that was harsh..even from my viewpoint."
Reaol shook his head vigorously, his eyes closed praying that when he opened then, they would be gone. However as his eyes peeled open Basalt and Cobalt were staring at him. "GET out of my HEAD!! "
"It's not for us to decide Reaol. You have to rid yourself of us. It's you after all who has brought us here. It's you who has felt the need to see us now. In fact, it's you giving yourself this very lecture." Basalt laughed and walked over to Kashi. "She really is as pretty as you think she is ya know...you should stop being the weakling you are and prove to her you can be a real dragonfly."
"ouch, dude...you know that was a little over the line." Cobalt couldn't help but chuckle as he tried to subdue Basalt.
But...it wasn't Basalt and it wasn't Cobalt. It was Reaol...and to his utter horror his brothers had come to life and his mind was releasing his fears and thoughts into the world. Reaol looked to Kashi in ultimate horror his face a deeper color from his blush. His breathing was growing irregular and his claws dug into the earth. He looked over to Kashi, his eyes pleading..."Does this make sense to you?"

Kashi blinked in surprise and stared at the apparitions utterly dumbfounded, with confusion written upon her face. What in the world was going on?! Was THIS Reaol's power? Hadn't they said that they were a part of Reaol? Well, this was quite interesting! I wonder... I wonder... if I could touch them...? She held herself back and blinked at Reaol, "Why, you are just full of surprises aren't you. What are they made of? Shadows? Light?" She paused and peered over at Reaol thinking about what the two others had said and asking innocently, "You think I'm pretty?"

Reaol looked at Kashi baffled. Was what made of light and shadows..and..and full of surprises....WHAT the HELL did THAT mean!? Reaol was frustrated beyond belief and his face showed it."There hallucinations how am I supposed to know what they're made of!" Then as is he ran into an invisible brick wall his face changed from rage and frustration to ultimate shock. Why had Kashi asked what "they" were made of? How was it possible that she had seen his hallucinations? "Kashi...do..do you mean that you can see them?"
"Of course she can see us Reaol. Isn't that the point?" Basalt rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Oh and pardon his one track mind....he think's your beautiful."
Reaol's eye twitched a bit and growled in Basalt's general direction. "What makes that yours to say, regardless of the fact that its true?"
"Well..simply put..It was you." Basalt snickered.
"arg! I don't understand this Kashi."

"Yes yes I can see them.... Mr. and Mrs. whoever they are," Kashi pointed her nose to Basalt and Cobalt respectively and then flopped to her stomach and put her paws over her head, "I'll figure it out Reaol, just give me a moment. And stop looking so upset, I can't fix anything until I understand myself what is going on..." Kashi then let her mind wander, He didn't know I could see them... Is this what he meant by he always had his brothers in his head? He thinks I'm pretty... So now that he is an elder... things have changed... now his brothers appear in front of him, in a seeming physical form. He thinks I'm pretty... And they act like his brothers, whoever THEY are... So that means they are based off of the images he creates in his mind... So he can create copies? He thinks I'm pretty... No... not copies... maybe he can create other things... They aren't hallucinations thats for sure, unless his brothers have now invaded my mind as well, which is unlikely... He thinks I'm pretty... So... not copies, not hallucinations, they are.... mirages? YES! THEY ARE MIRAGES!! He thinks I'm beautiful! Kashi jumped to her feet and glared at Basalt and Cobalt triumphantly, "Sorry boys, but I have to test a hypothesis..." And with that she closed her eyes and charged at the two. If she was right, she would charge right through them and they would disappear, if she was wrong... she was going to run into something very solid....

Reaol calmed his breathing and stared at Kashi as she laid there with her paws over her head. She knew things..from her mother..and..well she could help..plus..well..he kinda believed in her. She was the only Df who had ever really taken him in and not shunned him for his actions.
"Mrs.!" Cobalt and Basalt protested together. "We are both Mr's thank you very much!"
"Shut up and let her think!" Reaol then looked over to his brothers and saw that they had their mouthes sewn shut and looked quite angry. He smiled and looked back down towards Kashi who had suddenly jumped to her feet. He then stood there in shock as Kashi started running right towards his brothers...with her eyes closed....what the hell is she doing? "Kashi...wait..Don."He then paused and his jaw dropped. His brothers were ..were disappearing. They were floating apart into the forest like grains of sand. "Kashi..."

Kashi opened her eyes and put on the brakes, whirling around on a dime. She stared at the disappearing apparitions, and whooped with joy, "Yes! I was right! I didn't bash my skull in!" She giggled and looked over at Reaol, "You think I'm p... wait um..." Kashi shook her head and tried again. The thought that Reaol thought she was pretty kept repeating in her mind, and she it kind of slipped off her tongue. It seemed a bit unfathomable that anyone liked her, well, Kashi DID make it her business to hate everybody. She wondered why she even cared that Reaol liked her, but she pushed that thought to the side. "Didn't expect that now did ya? I think, well... its kind of starting to make sense to me..." She padded back over to Reaol and sat in front of him. Even though she had to tilt her head all the way back to look up at him now, she sill gave him a level and cynical stare, "I have a hypothesis, and the more I think about it... the more it makes sense. I THINK you can create mirages, out of what I do not know yet, maybe it is just telekinetic... I don't think i have a sure answer for you. As far as I can tell, if you concentrate hard enough, you can create life like images of things you have seen before... and bend them mostly to your will." Kashi smirked proudly and placer her tail upon Reaol's paw reassuringly, "How are you feeling?"

Reaol was still staring at the location where his brothers had disappeared into thin air. Mirages? Can i really create mirages? Is that really what my power is? To create something out of the void? Kind of ironic. Reaol smiled a little the dark, empty feeling becoming less of a weight. Reaol shook his head a little and then realized that Kashi was speaking to him once more. He then realized that she had placed her tail over his paws. If his fur would have allowed it, Reaol would have been the brightest shade of red possible. It was then that he remembered what his brothers...no...what he had told Kashi. It was true..of course. Reaol thought Kashi was quite gorgeous. She reminded him of the gentle wood grain he loved to stare at for hours. He let his head fall a little so that he was closer to Kashi. "I'm...I'm good...I actually feel much better now...and ..well...yes..I do think your pretty."

Though Reaol's fur did not permit a blush to be visible, at his words the fur and flesh on Kashi's cheeks grew a very bright and noticeable pink. She turned her head away and huffed, trying to act as if she did not care for his compliment, "How very nice of you to say... but it gets you no where..." She removed her tail from his paws and slapped it over her paws, making a dull thud on the ground. Kashi could not, for love of Di'jai, bring herself to look back up into Reaol's eyes. "Maybe it would be best if we continued on our way. Unfortunately, you now definitely wont be able to fit into my den, unless of course you turned into your elf form...."

When Kashi quickly removed her tail from his paws, Reaol instantly wanted to reach out with one of them and pull it back. He longed to see what he eyes were saying...because her words seemed to push him away. Then she mentioned something else that Reaol had never heard of, an elf form. "Elf form?" he asked, his face completely confused.

Kashi tried to will the blush out of her cheeks, but it would not budge. It was as if her body was mocking her feelings, and Kashi was not sure what to do. She kept on staring at the ground, trying not to look back up at Reaol. Oh but how she wanted to look back up, to look into his shining eyes, how she wanted... wait.... He asked her question! He, doesn't know what an elf form is? Well.... that does make sense... He didn't know about elders, let alone all their powers. How could he have been able to know that they have more than one form? Forgetting completely about the blush still bright upon her cheeks, Kashi tilted her head back up and smiled softly, "It is another form that and elder can take. I don't know how to explain it. You can change into this other creature called an elf, it walks on two legs like a bird, and has hands that can hold and mold things. It is usually completely furless except for some on its head, and its feet are long and have no claws. The only thing in your elf form that exposes you has a part of the dragonfly race is that you keep your horns and sharp teeth. I don't know much about that form except that all elders can turn into it, and that you can still use your powers. I've seen elders turn into their elf forms to do thing that they normally couldn't in their elder form..."

Reaol blushed and smiled simiultaniously as Kashi looked up hm to answer his question. He was listenng...but only somewhat. His main attention fell upon Kashi's eyes and her soft look. It was funny..truly it was. The two of them. Both equally withdrawn and usually loathing the company of others. Her words swam around in his mind, something about another form,a hairless form. Something he could transform into in order to do things that he normally wouldn't. Yet..what could he want to do that he couldn't do in his present form. Was he now not greater than before? Reaol lifted up one of his paws and reluctantly looked down at its now massive size. How could any other form be more powerful? "I will try to do as you say I can Kashi..transform..though..I do not know if I will truly be able to."

Kashi cocked her head, still staring into Reaol's eyes, "Transform hmmm...? A... oh! Oh yes... transfrom. You don't really have to if you don't want to, but fitting into my den, as big as it is, would still be easier if you were... smaller..." She giggled and smirked ruffling her fur slightly, "And your elf form is powerful in a way your elder form is not. You may not have as much fire power in your elf form, but as an elf you can build and create things not possible otherwise. I know some elders that prefer being in their elf forms even more than being an elder. It is a personal opinion, and you'd never know what you'd like more until you've tried..." She shrugged and looked away from Reaol's piercing eyes, wondering what he would look like as an elf.

"I shall try to Kashi, I want to become as familiar as I can with my new self." He frowned a bit as Kashi pulled her eyes from his gaze. Perhaps his gave was more piercing now that he was an elder...or perhaps it made her feel uncomfortable. He hoped that neither option was the reason, for he didn't want to cause her any discomfort. The last thing he wanted to do was chase Kashi away. "Well I guess we'd better be on our way Kashi, to check on the patients of yours." He used his foreleg to gesture for Kashi to take the lead and bowed his head to her.

Kashi pushed herself to her paws with a grunt, feeling very old all of the sudden. It amazing what new knowledge could do to a dragonfly who just got used to things the way they were. She gave Reaol a weak smile and turned abruptly to continue her way through the grass; now she had even MORE to worry about. Kashi gave a mental shrug and brushed Reaol's foreleg lightly with her tail to reassure him that he is not the reason for her sudden silence, she just needed some time to think... After only a few min, they reached the edge of the forest and Kashi paused looked back over at Reaol, "I think it would be best if you weited here for me finish checking on that mother rabbit. She would freak out if she smelled you, let alone saw you..." Kashi chuckled to herself at the thought and turned around, pausing only momentarily to see is Reaol needed to say anything to her before she headed off into the trees.
